Good authentic Indonesian food that we didnt expect to find in Berlin

This is an excellent restaurant, I recommend the Soto Padang

The food is really great, and the prices are very reasonable. The number of Indonesian people in the restaurant leaves no doubt as to the authenticity of the cuisine. The service was a bit slow, but then again the place was full.

I cannot confirm the positive reviews from others. The food was mostly okay for our hiking group, but the cleanliness of the tables and especially the toilets was a disaster! The entire atmosphere was shabby and dingy. We will NEVER go there again. What must the kitchen be like?

A guaranteed flavour bomb! The food is so rich in spices and seasoning, and the chili is absolutely to die for! I've been here twice already. The ambience is cozy and relaxing, truly capturing an authentic Indonesian dining experience, and the service is great. Two thumbs up!

Wow wow wow, one of the best and most authentic Indonesian restaurants I came across outside Indonesia. Tried various dishes already: genuine , home cooked style! The atmosphere is almost like in an Indonesian street side restaurant. For some people maybe a bit rough but I felt like back in Indonesia. 5 stars+ for the food, IF you like Indonesian food!

This is the worst food in Berlin, I got very bad Diarrhea. It smelled very bad and there were mold on the tables.

The food was very good. Plus, the portion size was large for a reasonable price. The service deduction was due to a friend having to wait a long time for his food. Ultimately, however, we all enjoyed it because we got a lot of food without the high price tag that is typical in the city center.

By far the best Indonesian restaurant in Berlin. Our favourite is their nasi padang, lele goreng, & nasi rames. Their workers are friendsly and tries to fullfill your request. Their sambal is spicy and delicious. Must go restaurant everytine we are in Berlin

It takes so long until you get your food even it’s not many people waiting their order. Disappointing. I waited almost an hour for a simple meal to prepare.

Already long time want to try, nasi goreng maybe not the best choice (even taste was good )because the rice not so indonesian. But other menu was okay. Worth to try!

I was just in Bali and fell in love with the dish gado-gado. So I had to find it right away in Berlin. Nusantara prepares the dish even better than some places in Bali. I'm truly impressed by the quality and taste of the gado-gado. I also had the satay skewers (with chicken). The sauce that came with it was absolutely delicious. Delicious, delicious, delicious. I will definitely order from there again. I haven't been to the restaurant itself yet, but it's definitely on my to-do list. :)

The food is delicious, the location is clean and convenient, and it's close to Berlin Central Station by tram. The staff is also friendly and kind.

Nasi Padang is delicious and served piping hot but it was not as spicy as expected. Staff was nice and looks friendly.

Super friendly service and delicious kwetiaw goreng—fried flat rice noodles with tofu and vegetables. Cash only—which is fine for me, but I didn't have much on me. Otherwise, I would have tried the gadogado and dessert, but the portion was large and filling. Highly recommended.

I really hate the employees of this restaurant, people are eating well and I'm pregnant, they are smoking like that, two people next to us. All the customers are eating, no one is smoking, they just sit and smoke, why don't they just go away, they really don't care about their customers.

Rendang is the most requested menu and it really worthy to try and offer to you companion. Bebek goreng is the next.. oh my goodness.

the food is delicious and homey. I like the gado2 and bakso malang the most. the quality of the grilled ribs is a bit up and down, but the last one is delicious. the tongseng is a bit sweet. the es teler is delicious. the mendoan is sometimes delicious, sometimes too oily if the oil is old.

All of the menu is good, taste like real indonesian food, the staff is from Indonesia so friendly and helpfully, the restaurant is not so big, but very comfortable and they always clean the table after people eating, the price for all of the menu is cheaper, have outside space for sitting

Bakwan is super tasty and very crispy, but also correspondingly fatty. The Ayam Bakar is also very crispy, very tender and very tasty! The Nasi Putih, on the other hand, is really not good, I don't understand it at all. Unfortunately, the sauces are all below average

It was my first time trying Indonesian food and I found it quite delicious. The Lele Gorang dish was delicious but the fish had mostly just skin so it wasn't a filling meal at all. Bakwan Sayur, which is like fried vegetables was tasty but very oily. Nasi Padang was an interesting dish, it had a nice Cardamom flavor and a few fruits or vegetables that I could not recognize. The Es Cincau drink and the traditional Indonesian tea were amazing, I highly recommend them.

Ambience quite uncomfortable for me personally. Very outdated and plastic tablecloths on the tables. There was a terrible underground smell of strange cleaning products in the toilet. I went backwards out of there and moved it to the hotel room, which luckily wasn't far away. The food, on the other hand, was tasty, if not exceptionally great. What really bothered me is that only cash payment is accepted, no card payment. Staff friendly and the food came quickly.

Friends who tried fried Rice with non veg were good as per their review. Veg food is not that good. We tried three dishes. All we liked was honey ginger tea.

We came here during the week for Nasi Ramen, a platter of rice and various small dishes. The fried noodles were only average, and the vegetables in broth were also average. The bitter melon salad was exciting and good, and the lamb in peanut sauce was delicious. The fried fish balls and tofu we had were also tasty, but they could have come with rice. The shop itself is a bit run down, and it seems like a lot of people take their food with them. The ginger tea was super strong and later on it got quite spicy. The four rice balls were tasty, though, and filled with sweet mung bean paste or sesame.

Tried Indonesian cuisine first time with my friends. My friends came here before too, for me it was first time. We tried Nasi Goreng Chicken and beef. And a chicken menu (forget the name). Nasi goreng chicken tasted better than beef. The chicken menu tasted good as well however the amount of rice was very less. So for food: 4/5 Service and atmosphere: 5/5

Of course they provide halal Indonesian cuisine. Nasi Bungkus Padang with Rendang is the most recommended, although other dishes are also delicious and authentic such as Nasi Goreng Mawut, Nasi Remes, Nasi Pecel Lele and so on. The portions are also large enough to fill you up. The service is fast and friendly. What's even better is that there is a prayer area, although small but very helpful for travelers like us.

I'm from the Netherlands and grew up eating Indonesian quite frequently, but since I moved to Berlin a few years ago I haven't had any. Finally decided to pop by Nusantara and it easily met my expectations. Loved the smokiness of the nasi goreng, we shared everything we ordered and honestly liked all of it! Very nice staff as well, cash preferred, def recommend!

New interior and lighting, and bigger portion with better taste! update: unfortunately the taste got worse now. The fried rice was blant and lacked any spices. It was only salty. update: they've improved since my last review and now, it's back to the original recipe!

I love Indonesian cuisine, so I can really recommend this restaurant. Even if the ambience is not that cozy, the cuisine and the friendliness of the staff make the stay a pleasant experience. The dishes are authentic and well prepared by hand. Few bells and whistles. Very convincing.

Cash only Big portions, the place was recommended to me by a friend from Indonesia as authentic one. There were a lot of Indonesians eating which was a good sign. Good prices, big portions. Very big menu and lots of items to choose from. Fresh and delicious

important note. they only accept cash. its few steps from trem station. taste good and price is reasonable with the large portion. do try the huge hot bowl of bakso. also, few steps away from the restaurant, there is groceries shop where you can stop by for halal provisions. worth the trip there. toiket is clean n there is small corner provided for muslim prayer.

As good as or better than in the Netherlands and half the price! Do yourself the favor of going here and enjoy the food with your hands. Absolutely fantastic staff, prices, selection and food!

Very authentic! We ordered Bakso Malang, Batagor, and Tempe Mendoan, and it felt like coming back home.

Authentic Indonesian food, amazing quality, good value for money. The duck was tender, savoury, and not rubbery. The empek was so-so and lacking the fish taste. The cendol was phenomenal! A perfect place to seek home-sick comfort foods far away from home. The atmosphere inside could be improved with minor firniture revamps, but still would totally visit this place again when in Berlin.

I am always on the lookout for authentic and flavourful asian meals that aren't very germanised. This is certainly one of those restaurants that has a very authentic flavour, the portions are generous and I frequently order their beef in coconut milk soup with rice. One of my favorite restaurants so far!

Authentic Indonesian food in the heart of Berlin! I absolutely love their Nasi Padang, especially with the cassava leaves and jackfruit as side dishes. The rendang is incredibly tender, full of rich flavor from the coconut milk and spices, and you can tell it’s been simmering for hours. They even wrap the dish just like they do in Indonesia, which adds a nice touch of authenticity. The only small thing is that the waiters could be a bit more welcoming, but overall, it’s a fantastic spot if you’re craving real Indonesian flavors. Definitely worth a visit!
