Great authentic food, excellent service and very reasonable prices. If you are wanting fancy decoration this is not your place. If you want inexpensive good home cooked food it's a winner

Used to be a brilliant "hidden" restaurant, with excellent food for the price, but is now an Indian / Indonesian restaurant, with sub par menu. Sadly a no go at this point.

I stayed 5 nights in Dublin and went to this restaurant 4 nights in a row for dinner! I tasted 3 dishes, all 3 were sensational, really! The prices are ultra affordable, the food is excellent, the servers and the owner are adorable! /!\ Be careful, you must bring cash. Otherwise, there is an ATM right opposite in a store selling alcohol and crap but I went there one evening and I paid 6€ fees in this German bank (I use Revolut so the fees come from the country's bank...)... For a meal costing €12 with a drink, it's not very profitable.

Love it! Had the lunch special, fried vegetables noodles with egg. Really cheap and really delish. The portion was quite big which I personally like. They also have vegan options

This is the worst Nasi Goreng I've ever had. It was pale and flavorless, with slipshod knife work - roughly chopped and thrown in. Even I do better when cooking at home. The carrots weren't cooked long enough, leaving them in an unpleasant state between crunchy and soft, which made the overall eating experience even worse. I've been coming here regularly since I saved this place to my Google Maps list in 2020. Sambal Goreng Udang was a dish I ordered every time (Very delicious. I miss it 😢) I hadn't been back since I moved away from Berlin last year, and today I noticed the menu had changed. I thought I'd try the Nasi Goreng, but I didn't expect it to be this disappointing. After browsing through other people's reviews, it seems the owner has also changed. I don’t know if that’s true, but I've already removed this restaurant from my list and won't be coming back.

We had dinner at the restaurant in the evening. The restaurant is simple and functional. The service is nice and the Indian food is really good. The prices are cheap. Very good place for authentic food.

I really wanted to try this place after reading online reviews but unfortunately I cannot recommend it at all. The food was extremely bland and was lacking the typical Indonesian spices. Just bad.

Very tasty food and good prices, but it gets very crowded at lunchtime. However, it is possible to reserve a table. You get a really good lunch for €6.50, and the portion size is also sufficient. You can be happy with a drink here for under 10 euros. I was there again with my colleagues at the end of September and we were all very enthusiastic and will go back more often. We had nothing to complain about and I can't really understand the harsh comments here.

man fühlt sich fast ein wenig wie in einer Garküche in Denpasar oder Jakarta - das kleine Lokal liegt recht unscheinbar in einem nicht sonderlich einladenden und sauberen Hinterhof. Es ist auch eher ein Imbiss als ein Restaurant. Das Essen schmeckt - und es ist eine von eher wenigen Möglichkeiten, in Berlin indonesisch zu essen. Die Preise sind niedrig, ich würde wiederkommen.

It used to be an insider tip. Of the old team, only the moody middle-aged woman is left, otherwise there are apparently new Indian operators now? It's still quite good value for money (especially the lunch menu), but the quality is no longer quite the same as in the golden Mahubay times 5 years ago. I would now recommend the Indian dish, as this is probably where the focus is now.

Just no longer the Mabuhay I use to know and eat. Not Indonesian food anymore, just so you know. But service is still good and affordable.

It's not the Indonesian restaurant anymore! It's now Indian, food is still very affordable, eatable but can't say delicious. It's a pity the restaurant used to be very good before, but for sure they changed owner now. They should just change the name and do Indian food without fooling the old customers who looks for Indonesian food! I'll never come back.

Pöfff, I've known this restaurant for ages, I can't believe how you can eat there?? Very unclean, you should see the kitchen, there are layers of cockroaches running around. When I walk past I feel sick and feel sorry for people without knowing that they are eating there.

When I discovered its location, I wasn't sure about this restaurant. Despite its location under an old and sketchy apartment building, the food turned out to be quite good.

Small shop with extremely reasonable prices. A portion costs just €6.50 at lunchtime and a Cola Zero costs €1.50. Absolutely nothing special in terms of taste and barely salted. Unfortunately the staff was very unfriendly.

The food is decent. Though the menu says spicy, it’s not spicy, it was tangy. The restaurant accepts only cash and it is self service. We went during lunch and it was a fixed menu. I would try out the other dishes, especially the Beef rendang.

CHANGE OF OWNER AND THUS FOOD TASTE AND QUALITY. This place used to be owned by an Indonesian woman and her husband. Many of the waitresses were Indonesian. Now the owner and the staff have changed, they were mostly Indian and the food are no longer the Indonesian food it used to be. We were always looking forward to come here. After my last visit I would not come back.

Pretty small run down shop with cheap prices and good food. But honestly I would only go there at lunchtime. Unfortunately they have changed their menu and there is now more Indian. Service was always quite unfriendly, but now you have to order inside and pick up your food yourself.

We stumbelld upon this place at random, and I could not ne more pleased. The food was phenominal! I had the butter chicken and it was hands down the best indian food I have ever had! The owners were very welcoming, kind, and lovely to chat with. The atmosphere was so cozy, warm light and a dining area on the smaller side made it feel snugg and warm. Exekent food, ontop of warm and welcoming atmosohere, combined with cheap prices. Make this a absolute must go if you find yourself in the area. And definetly worth to travel a further distance aswell!

A small but very authentic place. The staff is very nice and in the summer they have a terrace.

We chose a dish, they didn't have it. We chose another one, they didn't have it either. The area/square is not very nice, or the inside of the place. The waiter and personnel were nice and friendly, and the food was ok. The pakoras were very tasty.

Can’t recommend it unfortunately. The rice and chicken were really overcooked. Couldn’t even finish it. Shame as I have eaten here a few years ago and the food was great. However, prices are very good.

BEWARE TOURIST TRAP. ALL REVIEWS HERE ARE BOUGHT OR FAKE. This is a small shop in a shabby, run-down back yard. Never in my life will a store like this have 1,500 REAL reviews. The meat had a very strange consistency, as if it had been heated many times. Hot sauce was used to try to reconsider the condition of the meat. The fish had absolutely no taste. The fried tofu was also completely tasteless and dripping with fat. There are Visa and MasterCard stickers on the door, but suddenly only cash was accepted when paying. There is no cash register, you have to list what you had again while he types the amounts into a calculator. Everything is very dubious in the store.

After the big change, I scarcely find anything related with Indonesian cuisine here. Two dishes we ordered didn't come close to anything Indonesian. It tasted OK but the authenticity couldn't be delivered. I think they might be better with Indian cuisine, but a big No from me if you would seek anything Indonesian. What a pity. This place used to serve a very good meal before.

Can easily recommend this place if you are around potsdamerplatz. You get a nice balance of price to quality and taste ratio here. And the service was also top notch. Having tried both their Indian and Asian dishes I can say you won't go wrong with either choice.

Very tasty and cheap lunch menu. I had M5. Beef was tender and flavorful. I would recommend if you are nearby. Basically self-service. You order and pay at the front with cash. When the food is ready, you will need to go get it. Lunch time is very packed. I don’t think they have enough people to work there. I would wash their dishes because the food was so tasty.

Not great quality food, and there is no Indonesian food, menu has neither good Indonesian nor good Indian food. Bad flavours feels like veggie cooked in canned tomatoes with weird spices. Extremely oily food with oil floating out.

The food was really delicious and inexpensive. Beer prices are also super fair. I had beef, which was very tender. In terms of taste it had a note of clove, never eaten like that before but delicious. The ambience is now rather semi-nice. The prefabricated building in which the restaurant is located is pretty run down. The restaurant itself doesn't have many seats inside and two beer tables outside.

The service focuses on mass processing and not on service, which is perhaps necessary for lunch here. Extremely tight and stuffy inside, but outside you have sparrows around you and you shouldn't jump on the chair with the visiting rat because it wouldn't be able to stand it. Hence the ambience is authentically Indonesian.

This place used to be great with friendly owners and cheap but delicious authentic Indonesian food. However, since there is a change in owners the food drastically changed. Half of their menu still consists of Indonesian dishes, but it doesn’t taste like that anymore. The Rendang doesn’t taste like Rendang (more like a curry with strange spices) and even the rice was not cooked well. I’m sorry for leaving a low review, but I’m just really disappointed.

We were truly delighted. Spot totally hidden, keep patiance while seeking. One of the biggest positive suprise so far. Service was incredibly good. The food is tasty, the quality is first class, the meat melts in a certain way, very high direct prices beyond belief. The dishes cost around 8-9€ and they are huge. Being good understand - it is quite humble and in some parts even untidy, but if u do not care I highly recommend!

Nice lunch place and fine prices

Small, busy Indonesian restaurant. If you want, it reminds you of the same design standards that warungs often pursue in Indonesia. The food (Sate Ayam, chicken with peanut sauce 6.50 EUR) tasted good and was excellent for the price. Thirst-quenching with an exotic touch: Es Jeruk (cold lime).

Just having our dinner tonight in this restaurant. We are 2 person trying 3 kinds of main menu, it was beef rendang which good even the taste of the herbs mostly to Indian taste cos as we see now all the worker there come from India. The second was Chicken Balado which the taste also good, a little sweet cos I assumed it was used sweet soya too. And the last was my favourite n I'm really happy cos I order this one, it was Ayam Pecel. The chicken was fried crispy outside but inside was soft, so tender. And the sambal pouring above was very delicious. Even the composition of Indonesian food become more less than before and now more many Indian food, but I still very recommended this restaurant n don't forgot to order the Ayam Pecel especially for Indonesian or asian people.

The food is very good, the quality is first class, the meat melts in your mouth, the portions are very large and the price is unbelievable, it's very cheap. The dishes in the photos cost around 8-9€ and the drinks were very good. The place itself could be a little tidier in appearance, but if that doesn't scare you, you certainly won't be disappointed. I recommend it and will come back every chance I get in Berlin.

Luckily you can't complain about the prices... 6.50 euros for a large portion of Bami Goreng and 1.50 euros for 0.2 Cola/Fanta/etc. (2024!) Unfortunately we don't recommend it

We found this place on Google and all the good reviews convinced us to go there and give it a try. That was a super decision. The guy running the business is super friendly and helpful. The food was also a great surprise. Really delicious and pretty cheap for Berlin standards. Maybe preparation time could be better, but that is the only downside. For 2 dishes and 4 beers we paid 27euros.

A small, almost hidden restaurant with Indian and Indonesian cuisine. The food tastes good. Service and ambience can be significantly improved. The prices are reasonably low.

Very good food! I do not understand what some people are complaining about, as the food was great (especially the duck -bebek curry). What I can say, is that it gets remarkably full- to a point where you have to que to get a table.. But the manager is very nice and arranged another table for us! Definitely worth a visit. Update 2024: Food is still very cheap, main courses between 6-9.50€, Rendang is still very good, but the chicken dishes definetly used to be a lot better. It is however very chaotic. We went on a thursday afternoon, and first got the wrong food, then I got my food but my partner got nothing, we then shared my dish - and after over an hour my partners still did not come. We also got the wrong drinks, but decided to keep them over probably not getting any.. After inquiring about the rest of our food, it turns out they just gave her food away, because they forgot whose it was.. The waiters were very kind, but I think the manager needs to overhaul his service strategy..

We went to eat the menu of the day on a Friday. It was very good, the truth is that for 6.5 euros per person we ate, a plate well presented and with quantity. It's true that the place looks like you can't even imagine that they have a kitchen, but we were pleasantly surprised. The lady who served us was not very friendly and did not let us pay by card, however, we liked the experience and I recommend it

So, me and two of my friends arrived here on the recommendation of our mutual friends. We arrived at approximately 7:15, and the waiter came to take our order. At about 7:47, he came once again and asked “Did you not get anything yet” and thought we were already served with our food. Moreover, we had ordered a sprite, and even after waiting until 8:02pm, nothing was served to us. Highly disappointed, thinking that this place serves authentic Indonesian cuisine. At most, the waiters were incompetent, and lack of generosity for guests who are actually interested in the cuisine. I hope they realize that this goes a long way in showing how they treat their customers. Will not be returning here ever again, and will advise others from doing the same.

Unfortunately we didn't receive any food after 30 minutes. Instead we were able to order from each of the 3 employees. When they said the order had been lost we left the restaurant without anything to eat or drink. Cleanliness could be better, friendliness was good.
