Bali Bistro in Frankfurt am Main

Hi, Been away for two weeks and missed Indonesian food. Goggling Indonesia restaurant and Bali Bistro come up. Looking good in the review. When there for dinner two days in a row; first and second October, only to find they are close while the goggle map said it open. SAD😞

My colleagues recommended this restaurant to me and the food tastes really good!! The starter in particular was really delicious (I don't remember the name, it was made from corn!) And all the food was very good!! I recommend you this restaurant!

One of the most authentic and tasty Indonesian food restaurants in the whole of Germany! I went with my Indonesian friends there and the family-run restaurant staff was super friendly and very helpful in helping us choose what to eat and drink. I would highly recommend the coconut based desserts and drinks and food wise everything was spot on so anything ordered will leave you happy! The price is extremely affordable and a hundred percent worth it. Another noticeable thing is that students get a 10% discount on their total table bill! Really student friendly! A must visit if you like Indonesian food.

Very authentic and delicious, nice chili sauce, nice everything, good portions, friendly service, nice ambient and seating !! Prices are also good, of course you can not compare the price in indonesia because the ingredient costs are different. Will recommend n come again

I've seen this bistro so many times in google Maps when I tried to see Indonesian restaurant, and finally, I give it a try to it, and it's unexpectedly sooo good! The taste was so authentic. I tried the Bakso, Iga Bakar, Krengsengan, and Sate. All of them are great! Even my boyfriend, who usually always says "not bad", finally said "delicious" when he ate here. Definitely will come back again to try other foods! And for the price, it is considered cheap!

I recently dined at this restaurant and tried the Nasi Padang with Rendang. Having tasted the authentic dish in Indonesia, I found it to be just okay in comparison. On a subsequent day, I ordered two more items from the menu Ayam Betutu and Nasi Ayam Geprek, but unfortunately, they did not meet my expectations. I can recommend the Nasi Padang. Service was ok, however you have to wait at least 45 minutes, this was our experience given that we were the first to place the order. The atmosphere is ok.

Super tasty and very authentic Indonesian food with a small menu, but it's completely sufficient. Ambiance = cozy, living room feeling and a nice outdoor area in the backyard. The homemade sambal is delicious!

Went there twice (as I leave this review) All food tastes good, decent portion with a very reasonable price! If you crave for Nice Indonesian food, you definitely don’t want to miss this around the area! My top recommendation will definitely be : Appetiser - Bakwan Jagung (Corn Fritters)! We ordered Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng. The two most popular dishes in this restaurant. The food was good. It comes with a lot of different components. We enjoyed it a lot. Price is reasonable.

If you want to eat authentic Indonesian food, this is the right place for you! The food was very tasty. The beef rendang was incredibly good and tender and excellent with the peanut sauce. The chicken was also deliciously seasoned and very authentically prepared. The service was very helpful and as friendly as you would expect from Indonesia!!! We highly recommend Bali Bistro if you want to briefly transport yourself to Indonesia.

Unfortunately, the food was very poor, from the quality of the ingredients to the unseasoned taste. Unfortunately the shop was very dirty (toilets too). Service was O.K. but we sat in front of our half-full plates (because we hadn't eaten them...) the entire time until we paid. I wouldn't go there again, I really wonder where the good reviews come from.

The Bali Bistro is a nice traditional Indonesian restaurant with a great ambience. The Bali Bistro is always worth a visit with friends or family. The homemade iced tea is a real recommendation, out of 5 friends, 4 found the tea very good and would order it again. All dishes photographed were very good. I would personally order them again.

The best Indonesian food we have ever eaten in Europe! Taste is Fanta, portions fine and price is good too! Recommended!! 5 stars ++++

Authentic Balinese cuisine, if you want to try something different from the usual flavors, this small, simple restaurant is recommended. The service is very friendly and the prices are cheap for Frankfurt! Sambience similar to Berlin (grin)...We sat outside in the “beer garden” and it was quiet and relaxed. We'd love to come back.

We just had a very good meal at Bali Bistro. Both the excellently cooked rendang and the lamb curry tasted very authentic, as did the dessert. However, the Bintang was not cold enough. There were also other Indonesians in the bistro, which is always a good sign. We'll be back soon.

As Indonesian myself, i will be honest. So far it‘s the best Indonesian foods i found in my region, yet i have of course tasted better one but it was just too faraway. So i have to be grateful for them, for being exist in Frankfurt. The ambience was cozy, it was less people the time i visited, so it was quiet and perfect like that. Waitress are all kind, as how they supposed to be as Indonesian. They don‘t have a lot of foods on their menu, which i prefer to have. I like it the less foods they serve, the better quality they could serve. I was sharing the foods with my friends, we had Tempe Mendoan (9/10), Sate Ayam (8,5/10) and Gado-Gado (7,8/10) as appetizers. We loved the Sambal Kecap so much, and the Saus Kacang from Sate was also amazing. Gado-Gado was average. My friend had Ayam Betutu (8,5/10) i loved it, it was a complete dish like they served it in Bali, amazing Sambal and Pepes, chicken was perfectly cooked and marinated. My other friend had Tongseng Daging (8,5/10) i love it too, she got a lot of meats ok the bowl, the soup was not too thick also not too thin, was a good consistency. I had Iga Penyet Sambal Ijo (8,3/10) i like the ribs, were all tender and easy to eat, the sambal was okayyy i like their other sambal better. Was too dry maybe because it was without sauce/soup, but it was originally like that, so i probably supposed to take some soup as side dish or so. Es Teh Manis was toooo sweet, like i don‘t use to this sweet anymore so it was too much for me. Generally it was a good experience, and as i told i‘m just happy to find an Indonesian restaurant nearby. I will surely come back to try other things on the menu! Give it a try!

After 3 years finally i eat Nasi Padang again for the first time, was really nice feeling just remembered when my mom cook Curry jackfruit and was exactly the same as she cook. Really worth it from Stuttgart to Frankfurt just for indonesian food🥹. Hopefully someday will be indonesian restaurant. And the Ice tea was really authentic the aromatic and the taste best Ice tea that i have tried in Europa🫶🏻

Nice menu, nice vibe, really friendly and competent waitress! Loved the tempe mendoan! In general, the taste of the food is good, but it seems „dry“ and „lack of seasoning“. The rice needs to be made thicker so that it is delicious. I ordered Konro grilled ribs. It tastes good, but the soup sauce is really spicy 😅 (not like the picture on the menu) and the chili sauce is not spicy. My non-Indonesian friends said that the nasi Padang was delicious, the gado-gado was delicious but there was too much lontong.

Can't rate the food this time because the restaurant is closed despite a reservation. Never experienced it and I definitely can't recommend it.

We ordered Es Cendol, Es Campur, Gurame fish with sour sweet sauce and satay Ayam. All is amazing food. Also Satay Ayam sauce and sour sweet sauce can be customised based on your preference. Ps: the price is also affordable and the food is halal

The food was good and the sambal was quite spicy. I like how they served the food very quickly. Personally I find the food choices were somehow not as diverse as it used to be.

First time buying rendang rice here, I thought the rendang was rendang Padang & used Padang chili sauce, but it tasted very far from the rendang Padang that I often eat. Just a suggestion, try changing the rendang recipe, so it tastes like rendang Padang. In accordance with the name of the menu, right? Padang Rendang Rice.

I got the Nasi Padang which was alright. On this day the service was slow and forgot one item of my order.

The food are all tasty! You can taste Indonesian flavour in your mouth! Really cures my homesickness.

My husband and i went to frankfurt for one night and we stopped by to this restaurant. We ordered Nasi Padang Rendang, it was delicious and spicy. We were satisfied with the flavor. Would highly recommend you to try out this food. Hopefully they open one in Munich so we could come more often. 😁

I ate nasi padang and nasi rames. They really taste like "nasi kotak" in Indonesia. I'll definitely come back again and again 💓 After 2 years, I unfortunately have to correct my rating. I don't know what's going to happen to the restaurant. As a loyal customer, I happened to come with a voucher today. After calling the boss, the waiter rejected my €50 voucher. The reason was “we are under new management”. I'm so disappointed. By law they have to fulfill their obligations, regardless of the management of the restaurant. This is a scam!!!

I had Longtong Sayur and Tempeh Mendoan. Both were very tasty and two different sambal were included. I haven't had Longtong in Indonesia yet, so I can't rate how authentic it is, but Mendoan tasted like Indo. I thought it was a shame that there was no Nasi Goreng. The ordering process works by pickup with a radio transmitter. This is a bit more complicated as a guest, so not full points. In general I don't think that's a bad thing, but I would find it more pleasant to order via the website. The staff were very friendly. The rooms are clean, but lack a little flair to make it a little more comfortable.

Der Platz, Service und Atmosphäre sind gut und ästhetisch 👍🏼 Das Essen sind lecker aber leider nicht so viele vegane Auswahl.

Unfortunately this restaurant opens three days a week only. We tried to visit on Thursday but was closed? Possible home based business only.

Die Mitarbeiter sind flexibel und gehen auf individuelle Bedürfnisse ein. Ein exzellenter Kundenservice.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch als Nicht-Asiate sehr empfehlenswert. Die Getränkekarte ist aber noch ausbaufähig. Hier werden Dosen/Flaschen/Tetrapacks angeboten.

The food was AMAZING and rather inexpensive for the quality of the food served!

Ein schlicht gehaltenes, familiengeführtes indonesisch/balinesisches Lokal. Hat mich sehr an meinen letzten Urlaub auf Bali erinnert, vor allem die hausgemachte Sambal hatte es ordentlich in sich was die Schärfe betrifft. Geschmacklich alles sehr gut, es gibt eine Art "Mix-Platte" auf der sehr viel verschiedenes durchprobieren kann. Die Mi Goreng fanden wir am leckersten, allerdings war die Portion hier wiederum sehr klein in unseren Augen. Ein leider sehr großes Manko ist allerdings, dass die Gerichte jeweils so stark zeitversetzt ankamen, dass der jeweils vorherige fast fertig war mit seiner Speise. Wenn das Tempo oder die Organisation verbessert wird, kann das Lokal richtig "boomen".

Waren heute zusammen hier und das Essen war super lecker und authentisch. Die Bedienung war super nett und zuvorkommend. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder vorbei kommen, wenn wir das nächste Mal in der Gegend sind.

Bali Bistro was exceptional! The food was super fresh, the atmosphere had some Bali vibes. The only downsides were that there was no Bintang! Also I got a parking ticket because there was no suitable areas to find parking. Other than that I loved the establishment!

Mittlerweile leider sehr enttäuschend. Die Portionen werden immer kleiner und oftmals fehlen einzelne Zutaten oder werden einfach durch andere ausgetauscht. Werde hier nicht mehr bestellen.

I order the Nasi Ayam Geprek and Nasi Ayam Bakar. Both were delicious! The sambal was really spicy just how we liked it. Chef did warn us that it is really spicy when he sent the food to us. Staff was very friendly and always smiling. Overall, we enjoyed our first time dining here. Thanks Bali Bistro Team!

Wir haben hier sehr gut zu Mittag gegessen. Alles frisch und authentisch zubereitet, es lief auch indonesische Lieder. Der Sitzplatz im Hinterhof hat eine tolle Atmosphäre. Man fühlt sich wirklich wie zu Hause. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Very friendly staff and nice setting, especially in the back garden. The ayam gebrek was well executed, the nasi padang less so, with the beef rendang rather chewy.

Bakwan jagung and soto ayam were delicious, but the soto ayam had too many beansprouts and the rice was a bit too hard for my taste. The tempe goreng was flavorless so I wouldn’t recommend that.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Das Ambiente ist, wie der Name schon sagt, eher Bistro-artig, aber wer indonesisches Essen mag, kommt hier auf seine/ihre Kosten.

Wenn es aufgrund der aktuellen Inflation mal wieder nicht für den Bali-Urlaub reicht, hier bekommst du den authentischen kulinarischen Kurztrip. Saulecker und die Restaurant-Crew ist mit Super-Happy-Mindset ausgestattet. Lass dich Inspirieren! Ich empfehle Sate Ayem mit traumhafter Erdnusssoße als Vorspeise, dazu Nasi Padang Rindfleisch und hausgemachtem Ice Tea! Extra Erdnusssoße bestellen, denn davon kann man nie genug bekommen!

Wir hatten uns wirklich gefreut, endlich ein indonesisches Restaurant gefunden zu haben. War leider eine GROSSE Enttäuschung. Speisen waren lahm/ gewürzt. Service mässig. Garten ungepflegt. Schade.
