Super delicious food with really nice seats outside. Service was also very good. Only the portions are a bit small for the price and not enough sauce is used

During the summer, we visited Bali Resto and were pleased to find that they had outdoor seating across the street, in front of St. Michael. This was very convenient as the seats were under the shade of trees. We ordered the roasted fried duck and ayam Angus, and both dishes came highly recommended. The duck was incredibly crispy, one of the best ducks I've ever had! The ayam Angus had a perfect bittersweet flavor from the sweet soy sauce. The only downside was the wait time for the food, which was a bit long even though we were the first to place our order when they opened. However, it was all worth it. We will definitely be coming back. One suggestion for improvement is for the restaurant to provide chairs for babies and toddlers, as we noticed many guests with young children.

Therefore not recommended. The main courses were all very tasty. Cocktails also very good. Waiting time for food over 1 hour. Unfortunately, drinks also lasted too long. Unfortunately it is very dark in the restaurant. Nevertheless we will come back.

We went to this restaurant with friends from Taiwan, Malaysia and the Phillipines, and everybody was highly impressed with the food. The service was very friendly, and the time we had to wait for the food was ok. I first visited this place some 20 years ago, and the Gado-Gado was still as good as I remember it from back then. Regarding vegan options, they have a whole page of vegan dishes, so you will definitely find something!

Very centrally located restaurant on the trendy Brüssler Platz. One of the few Indonesian restaurants there are in Germany. The service was very good, friendly and accommodating. The food is authentic and damn tasty and spicy. We had a mixed starter platter and four main courses. All dishes tasted well seasoned. You get Indonesian beer and the peanut sauce is delicious. They also offer dessert. I can recommend the restaurant and will come back any time!

Food OK, but not outstanding. With the starter mix, everything was fried very similarly. Service friendly but not very attentive. The empty plates from the starter were still on the table when the main course arrived, even though the restaurant was only lightly attended. Atmosphere with dark cellar charm, very small tables and no-fuss menus. We don't necessarily have to go back there.

Unfortunately, we were not convinced by our visit to Bali. Unfortunately, the restaurant's recommended signature dish (flambéed chicken pieces) was clearly overcooked and therefore sometimes very dry. The other dishes were better. The atmosphere at the Brussels restaurant is of course very nice, but unfortunately for us the condition of the menus and tables does not match the price of the dishes. The tables weren't really clean and the menus were very stained. Here you clearly pay for the location.

Yesterday in beautiful weather for the first and def. It wasn't the last time we ate here, we sat outside, the service was super nice and on point, the food was absolutely delicious, a very clear recommendation from us. Be sure to order the satay, it's fantastically delicious.

Top Qualität des Essens und der Limonanden. Leider eine irre lange Wartezeit - zu wenig Mitarbeiter, zu viele Gäste ( man war nicht drauf eingestellt...). Wir kommen trotzdem wieder. Gruß an die hervorragende Küche... ( Fisch im Bananenblatt...lecker, vorweg ein spezieller Salat mit viel Kokos )

The service was really very friendly, but there were a lot of criticisms. It all took an extremely long time. The starters were very tasty but the Bami Goreng only tasted of salt and soy and then there was a blatant hygiene problem that I would rather not describe in detail here.

A very cozy restaurant with Indonesian dishes. The restaurant is a bit dark, but it creates a cozy atmosphere. The food is high quality and perfectly seasoned. The service couldn't have been better. If you're looking for something new, you'll find great food in a relaxed atmosphere here.

I've eaten in Bali several times. The food isn't great, but it's tasty and I actually always found it nice there. Unfortunately today the service wasn't good at all. We waited 1:45 hour for our starter, after the first round of drinks we weren't asked again if we wanted anything, we got the cutlery and napkins ourselves. When the bill came we had to wait another 20 minutes for our money to be collected while the napkins for the next day were folded at the next table. When the waitress finally came, she simply left with the money without any further comment. No goodbye or have a nice evening yet.

I asked something in writing three times. My message was read three times and went unanswered three times. A response of “okay” or “not okay” would have taken two seconds. If you offer a written request option, you should use it. By the way, it remains unanswered to this day. By the way, food came very sporadically, half the group was eating and the rest had to wait even longer. It also took a very long time overall... Food itself was okay

The slightly different Asian cuisine. Not to be compared with Thai, Chinese or Vietnamese cuisine. The diverse menu invites you to try it out. The ambience is stylish, the service is friendly. The food is very lavish and everything tastes good. Last I had: mango salad, creamy duck. In summer, the outdoor restaurant is highly recommended. Be sure to pre-order. All in all, absolutely recommended.

We discovered Bali by chance and were lucky to get a table without booking in advance. The food was very delicately seasoned and its own signature is clearly visible. It is extraordinary in a positive sense. The service is quick and attentive. We will definitely come back.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, that's about it for positive things. After we ordered drinks that were needed at a normal pace, we waited for about 20 minutes until a waiter came to take the order. We then waited about an hour for the food. There were only two of us, but my food was brought about 5 minutes before that of my companion. I generally think that's a bad thing. But then I realized the reason for this because my food was still lukewarm. 5 minutes later it would have been completely cold. The portion was quite manageable and would definitely not have filled me up if I had been hungry. The other food was very heavily salted. I would say it was over salted. The slightly smaller female waiter wasn't particularly friendly. It's a shame, but unfortunately quite a flop. Interesting that many other people are raising the exact same issues. It can't be that difficult to solve these problems.

Nice location with very good service who knows his craft. A big compliment at this point. The food was average. The wine list is extensive and fairly priced. The store was packed and therefore very loud. The ambience is stylish and cozy. We'll try again in the hope that we were just a bit unlucky with the food.

Very tasty food, both meat and a good selection of vegan dishes, good service, delicious drinks, relaxed atmosphere. We had a lovely evening!

Atmosphere downstairs in the basement is cramped but cozy. We were served by 2 younger women. Both were nice, but the taller one was a bit more attentive and personable. For example, the smaller one forgot to order a drink and when the main course came, she didn't pay attention to whether we still had cutlery, etc. You would think that with hundreds of guests a week, you would have something like that on your radar. Food tasted fresh and delicious. No glutamate bombs like in other Viet/Thai/Indo restaurants. They were relatively knowledgeable about allergens and were courteous to all guests, even though it was really busy. The store promotes “Female Empowerment”, including corresponding stickers on the windows. I would go again

In general the experience was quite upsetting. The food took a while to arrive and and the waitress even stated as we had appetizers they postpone our dishes. When the food finally arrived one of our dishes tasted really bad, salty and burned. Definitely do not recommend it.

The restaurant has a vast menu with great variety of dishes. Mains arrive supported by a bowl of sticky rice that can be replenished at will at no additional cost. With that in mind, a main can become a substantial meal. Otherwise maybe opt also for a starter. I really enjoyed the appetizer they offered us made of prawn crackers & peanuts sauce. I appreciated that when I ordered my main of shrimps, the waitress warned me that I would have had to remove the shell myself. In general I have found the personnel to be very efficient and well prepared, ready to explain dishes and recommend the best options of each person at the table. I have tried a few different dishes and they were all very tasty. The atmosphere is very nice and the lights mellow. Be careful that they only have menus in German. Not a problem if you have Google translate handy.

Outstandingly good food, one of my favorite shops in Cologne. Always fresh, deliciously seasoned. It can happen that you wait a few minutes longer for your food. But it's worth it every time, the service is always super friendly and accommodating and the shop has a great atmosphere. 100% recommendation!

We had time slots that had to be taken into account. This caused a lot of traffic to build up in the entrance area. The place we got was very nice. Overall it was a bit loud. The meal, lamb satay, was a blast. It's definitely worth repeating; just not necessarily on Saturday evening; the parking situation and directions were terrible.

We always enjoy coming here. The ambience is totally extraordinary. When you walk down the stairs into the restaurant it's like you're in another world. The service is extremely attentive, extremely helpful and friendly. As a vegetarian, I have a huge selection of Indonesian dishes that go well together and are very filling. The meat and fish dishes are also super tasty. Top! Top! Top!

Food was great. Unfortunately, reservations are limited to 2 hours. When the time is up you are asked to leave because the next guests are already waiting. It's difficult to reach someone by phone, but if you answer the phone you'll get a call back the next day.

Ich war früher schon einige Male im Bali und habe es sehr gut in Erinnerung. Das Restaurant hat seit einiger Zeit Slots, was dazu führt, dass um 20h alle Tische einmal durchwechseln. Die Kellner waren deshalb mit eindecken und Tische neu zuweisen beschäftigt. Das war etwas hektisch/unruhig, aber ok, wird ja in vielen Restaurants mittlerweile gemacht. Wir haben dann aber über eine Stunde auf unsere ersten 3 Gläser Wein gewartet. Nach 30 Minuten haben wie bei unterschiedlichen Mitarbeitenden insgesamt 3x nachgehakt. Passiert ist nichts. Keine Getränke. Keine Entschuldigung. Gar nichts. Der Service war mies. Anders kann man es nicht sagen. Fehler können passieren (ich habe selber lange in der Gastronomie gearbeitet), aber dann erklärt man es eben kurz und entschuldigt sich dafür. An den Gästen ist man im Bali aber anscheinend nicht besonders interessiert. Wir wollten zum Schluss ein Dessert bestellen und haben uns dafür die Karte geben lassen. Nach 20 Minuten haben wir die Rechnung verlangt, da niemand die Bestellung aufgenommen hat. Zum Essen: 3x Frühlingsrollen als Vorspeise. Die kamen ca 5 Minuten nach der Bestellung (also etwa eine Stunde vor dem Wein). Die waren in Ordnung. Ich hatte Gado Gado als Hauptgericht, was mir nicht geschmeckt hat. Meinen beiden Begleitungen hat das Essen ganz gut geschmeckt (Sate Spiesse und Kare Sayur Mayur). Zwei der Gerichte Gerichte hätten aber heisser sein können. tltr; durchscnittliches Essen, miserabler Service

Das Bali ist eins meiner Lieblingsrestaurants & da ich gerade die vielen nicht so guten Bewertungen gesehen habe, muss ich nun doch mal eine sehr gute hier lassen. Wir waren als Paar schon mehrfach dort - und die langen Wartezeiten auf Karte/Getränke/Essen kann ich nicht bestätigen. Wir wurden immer in angemessener Zeit bedient. Und was die „Dunkelheit“ im Restaurant angeht - diese empfinde ich überhaupt nicht als zu dunkel, sondern als sehr angenehm & romantisch schummrig, durch die Dekoration. Man hat das Gefühl Deutschland zu verlassen & sich in eine neue Kultur zu begeben & bei dem Namen „Bali“ darf das auch erwartet werden. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Ich hab selten eine Sauce gehabt, die so intensiv & köstlich geschmeckt hat! Auch mein Freund war begeistert, beide male. Zuletzt - bei der Reservierung heißt es „der frühe Vogel bekommt den Wurm“, aber so ist es bei jedem beliebten Restaurant in Köln, wie wir als Kölner wohlwissend behaupten können. Einzig wahr ist es mit den Tischen nahe des Eingangs - wenn die Tür aufgeht, wird es dort kalt- ich würde hier für bei der Reservierung einfach nach einem Tisch im Innenraum fragen & gut ist.

Une lumière tamisée, des tables éclairées à la bougie. Un cadre cosy et chaleureux. L'accueil est agréable, le personnel parle l'anglais. Par contre, pas de carte en anglais, Google translate fera très bien le travail. Dès l'arrivée des plats, nous fument embaumé par les parfums. Une cuisine savoureuse Un fin mélange d'épices et de saveurs qui vous font voyager. Le riz est cuit à la perfection Délicieux, un régal ! Une présentation simple et efficace. Des portions généreuses. Niveau prix 63 euros pour deux bières, deux plats et bouteille de vin. Nous nous sommes régalés et nous avons passé un très bon moment. Merci

In Köln mein Lieblingsbalinese. Die Nr 334 mein Lieblingsgericht - falls sie die Karte nicht geändert haben. Unbedingt reservieren. Meistens voll. Gemütliche Souterrain Atmo mit toller Küche.

Wir waren absolut begeistert! Hatte schon oft sehr gutes über den Laden gehört und es hat sich einfach bestätigt. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend zu dritt dort und wurden liebevoll vom Personal umsorgt. Das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr gut und wir haben für uns ein neues Stammlokal entdeckt! Der Kellner war wirklich großartig und hat uns sehr zum Lachen gebracht :)

Eine der größten Enttäuschungen. Essen in Relation zu Preis, Umfang und Qualität einfach nur schlecht, und das auf hohem Niveau. Erbärmlich die Größe der Speisen. Das Rind war durch den massenhaften Einsatz der Sojasauce völlig versalzen. Die Größe des Fisches reicht für Dreijährige und war einfach nur simpel und langweilig in der Zubereitung. Beim Lamm war die Kokossauce essbar, weil durch den Einsatz der selben auch nichts gemacht werden muss: nur reinschütten. Das Lammfleisch war gummihaft, geschmacklos und ledrig. Dieses Lokal kann man nur meiden. Man ärgert sich hier ohne Ende und das in sehr hohem Maße. NIE WIEDER! REINE ABZOCKE!

ganz ganz tolles Restaurant. Wir haben hier mit 6 Freundinnen Geburtstag gefeiert. Das Restaurant hat mega leckeren Wein, eine ganz schöne Atmosphäre und unser Kellner war absolute Spitze!

Leckeres und frisches essen! es gibt 6 vegane Hauptgerichte und auch etliche vegane Vorspeisen, sodass für jeden etwas dabei ist. Der Service ist mehr als ausgezeichnet. Man kann sich hier nur rundum wohl fühlen. Ein tolles familienbetriebenes Restaurant im Herzen des belgischen Viertels. Das Ambiente ist sowohl außen, als auch innen gemütlich und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Tipp: unbedingt den Aperitif "jazzmint" probieren. Besteht aus einem selbst hergestellten yasminsirup aus Bali, Minze und Prosecco oder Bitter Lemon 😍 sooo schmeckt Sommer ☀️

It took a long time until my food arrived, taste was OK, but the food quality is bad. They don't accept payment with card and the restaurant is too dark. Having only candle light is not convenient for me. For this, they charge expensive, so it's a disappointment. The star is only for the friendliness.

Sehr zu empfehlen! 😊 Leckere Gerichte & Getränke in entspannter, gemütlicher Atmosphäre mit sympathisches Personal. Immer wieder gerne da! Im Sommer lässt es sich auch draußen sehr gut sitzen und den Aufenthalt genießen.

Wir saßen 20Min bevor wir Getränke bestellen konnten. Die Getränke kamen dann auch erst nach 20Min und das Essen nach einer Stunde. Die Kellner waren komplett gestresst, haben sich untereinander immer wieder zugerufen wer was bestellt hat oder in die Runde gefragt, ob wer noch gar nicht bestellt hat. Am Ende gab es auch nur Barzahlung, was uns auch niemand gesagt hat… Die Tische um uns herum hatten auch nach einer Stunde noch kein Essen. Ein Gast hat sogar selbst angefangen zu kellern und hat seinen Tisch selber abgeräumt und hat sich selber Wein geholt. Die Menükarte ist eine Sammlung von Blättern und sollte auch erneuert werden. Gerade wenn man 17€ für Reis mit Gemüse bezahlt.

Seit über 10 Jahren gehe ich dort ein und aus. Die Essensqualität hat sich seitdem nicht verändert, was positive hervorzuheben ist, weil es wirklich gut ist. Auch die Preise, vor allem heutzutage wo alle die Preise massiv angezogen haben, nicht alle weil Sie es mussten.... ist Bali sich treu geblieben, finde ich wirklich mega. Im Sommer haben Sie Aussentische, direkt am Brüssler Platz. Manchmal kommt die Küche dann aber nicht hinterher, heißt man muss mit Wartezeiten fürs Essen von über einer Stunde rechnen, wenn alle Tische belegt sind. Im Winter ist es im Restaurant selber sehr schön, da kommt auch die Küche ohne große Probleme mit den Bestellungen nach. Der Service ist immer sehr bemüht, je nach Kellner ist er Top, bei manchen kann es aber passieren, dass man Sachen mehrfach anfragen muss, was ich aber alles gar nicht so schlimm sehe, weil es einfach zum lockeren Feeling passt. Klare weiterempfehlung!

Tja, wie soll ich das ausdrücken? Mir scheint (August 2023), als hätten Management und Küche in den vergangenen zwölf Monaten gewechselt. Ich hatte eine knappe Woche vor dem geplanten Besuch kurz vor Öffnung des Restaurants wegen der Tischreservierung dort angerufen und bin beim Anrufbeantworter gelandet. Sinngemäß : "Bitte ennen Sie uns Ihren Terminwunsch, und wir rufen Sie zurück." Erfahrungsgemäß (aus etlichen Besuchen während der vergangenen 35 Jahre) ist das Restaurant sehr frequentiert, also hatte ich wegen der Planungssicherheit einen raschen Rückruf erwartet. Der kam aber nicht. Also 31 Minuten nach Öffnung angerufen und einen Tisch für 18 Uhr reserviert. "18 bis 20 Uhr", so wurde ich informiert. Länger als 90 Minuten waren wir dort nie, also akzeptierte ich. Das Restaurant war wie erwartet gut besucht. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Aber: (1) Es gab keine Warmhalteplatten ("Die haben wir nur im Winter"), entgegen langjähriger Erfahrung. (2) Die Teller waren nicht vorgewärmt (entgegen...). (3) Das Essen kam spät. (4) Das Essen war durchweg zu stark gesalzen. Trotz später (aber stets freundlicher) Bedienung und trotz Zahlung eines (angesichts der Qualität und des verzögerten Servierens der Speisen) mehr als angemessenen Trinkgeldes wurde meine Frau um Punkt 20 Uhr des Tisches verwiesen und "durfte" auf der Treppe am Eingang noch verweilen, als ich kurz vor Ablauf der Frist noch zur Toilette (übrigens: Fußboden "klebt") ging, weil die Folgegäste um Punkt 20 Uhr auf der Matte standen (es ging nur um wenige Minuten). Ich habe eine solche Behandlung zuletzt in den 1980etr Jahren im "Goldbroiler" in Ostberlin erlebt, wenn DDR-Bürger aufgefordert wurden, ihren Tisch zu verlassen, wenn West-Touristen im Anmarsch waren. Wäre das Essen zeitig gekommen, hätten wir vor 20 Uhr das Feld geräumt. Schade, das sagen zu müssen, aber dies war vermutlich mein letzter Besuch im "Bali". Nach meiner Stimmungslage hätte ich allenfalls noch zwei Sterne vergeben, nach Abzug des Ärgers sind es dann doch noch drei. Wirklich sehr schade.

Sehr leckes Essen, Service ebenfalls super. War etwas sehr überfüllt als wir da waren, weshalb es sehr laut war aber haben noch eine Tisch bekommen, obwohl wir keine Reservierung hatten.

klare weiterempfehlung! essen war super lecker, es gab eine große auswahl an vegetarischen/veganen gerichten.
