Our absolute favorite Greek. Even though it's furnished in a rather rustic style, you feel incredibly comfortable. The owners are fantastic. Here you will be served well and super quickly without seeming intrusive.

The Sparta restaurant in Altenburg is a real recommendation for lovers of Greek cuisine. Here you can get authentic dishes that are freshly prepared and taste to the point. The gyros in particular are crispy and well seasoned, but the other dishes such as souvlaki are also convincing. The ambience is cozy, modern and inviting - perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or family. The service is friendly, attentive and makes you feel comfortable as a guest. We were visiting Saalfeld and the restaurant was recommended to us. The service was good, but it was very busy. Restaurant was full (reservation probably makes sense). The food was very tasty. Unfortunately 2 starters were forgotten. Otherwise nothing to complain about.

We were there for dinner yesterday. Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all. The rice wasn't seasoned and had no taste at all. I even think it was almost "over the hill". The meat was slightly oversalted but still edible. The hut was full, the waiters were nice. The wrong drink was delivered... until the problem was resolved, 3 different people came to the table because no one could make a decision. In the end, the drink was simply served again, even though we had already had it. Unfortunately, there was zero communication. For us, however, this was our last visit there for now.

Very good and filling portions at reasonable prices. A menu that is not too large is an advantage when choosing dishes. Starters and main course (village plate) were very tasty. I'd love to come back.

Food was OK, but the manager of the house is constantly busy teasing his staff at the counter in front of the guests. There is loud stomping of feet in front of the bar. What that means is more than questionable. Unfortunately, a rather not so friendly host and boss.
