First of all: the food and the dishes were really very good, there is little to complain about, except that the portions could have been a tiny bit bigger. Unfortunately, the service and the drinks were average at best. It started with the drinks order getting mixed up at the aperitif - it can always happen, but then at this level I would expect them to say "sorry, we'll correct it". Instead, it got a little uncomfortable for a moment and we took the wrong order. The empty aperitif glasses were still on the table until the second course. There was a very tasty greeting from the kitchen at the beginning - here too, the plates and leftovers were still on the table until the third course, and were not cleared away. Then on to the wine accompaniment: here the wines were sometimes only served after the respective course, and they were not really matched to the food either. We had half and half with and without alcohol. Here, too, the agreed order was not adhered to. An even bigger flop was the purely alcohol-free accompaniment. While other restaurants of this level (NeoBiota, Sahila etc.) offer creative alternatives, here the same non-alcoholic wine was served three times in a row. That was really disappointing for the price. Overall, the staff were very nice, but unfortunately not really attentive. Even when I asked questions about the food, they could only read out what was on the menu. There was no background information on the dishes. I did think it was very good, however, that there was a shot on the house at the end of the evening. It was a nice gesture! Overall 3/5 stars - but there is definitely potential for more here.

I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed. Entering the hall of the Hotel Excelsior in a classic, magnificent ambience is already a first step into a traditional architecture that is increasingly dying out. Before visiting the restaurant, we visited the bar for an aperitif, a wood-paneled, cozy room with an excellent drinks list. Afterwards we went to the restaurant, my coat, which I had left in the bar, was carried there by a friendly waitress, everything was completely inconspicuous and discreet. In addition to a collection of classic dishes, the menu also includes modern dishes and a regularly changing menu. The sequence of dishes and the associated service with insertion and removal were of fine grandeur. You immediately feel at home in the dark, elegant interior. There were two small downsides: There was a certain unrest in the bar and at least our main service person in the restaurant, despite all his friendliness and skills, was apparently a bit overworked and therefore always left the table a little too quickly, which slightly detracted from the very professional announcement of the courses and the wine service. But that's complaining at the highest level.

Absolutely recommended. We chose the restaurant Capricorn (i) Aries Brasserie to celebrate my master's degree. The four of us were allowed to try the surprise menu and also had the opportunity to express our desire for a meat dish within the menu. The service, the food, the atmosphere and the other friendly guests made the evening perfect. Thank you very much and see you soon!

January 2025: The small brasserie is lovingly run. The Belgian fries are particularly tasty and crispy. I ordered guinea fowl breast with Belgian fries and a small salad. I had two pieces of guinea fowl breast on my plate, which were excellently fried. A delicious sauce was included with the dish. As a starter we shared beetroot carpaccio with pear pieces and walnuts, which was also very tasty. We each chose a glass of Pinot Gris, 0.2 l, with our meal. It is very full-bodied and pleasantly dry. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. The women's restroom is very clean. Payment can only be made in cash. That's the only small downer you have to be prepared for. I was here for the second time and will definitely come back 😃
