Café de Paris Cologne in Köln

I spontaneously discovered this place during an evening stroll around the hotel and stopped in... a very nice location, friendly service, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. I'll be back! Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.

A great café in Cologne's city center. Top-notch drinks and food. They also have a very good breakfast here. The surrounding streets are perfect for shopping or strolling.

Unfortunately, when we first walked in, we didn't feel welcome. Some waiters didn't even acknowledge us. Later, when we were finally allowed to sit down (despite there being plenty of space), a very nice lady served us! The food was delicious, but we didn't feel entirely comfortable.

We love the ambiance, the style, and especially the amazing tuna teriyaki with wasabi ice cream! We'd love to come back!👍

Fine food, good drinks, friendly service

Unfortunately, my first impression wasn't a good one. I thought the ambiance was quite good, and the location was fantastic. The server seemed to walk past the table ten times without clearing the previous person's dishes, let alone asking if we wanted something to eat or drink. Everything took an incredibly long time, and that kind of thing makes me nervous. I come from the restaurant industry and have a lot of understanding and perseverance, but never leaving your station empty-handed and ignoring guests with a stare really shouldn't happen. But I'll gladly give the restaurant another chance. Best regards.

An ideal location in Cologne. However, outdoor seating is hard to come by in good weather. Wait times can sometimes be long, so reservations are recommended if possible. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks are on the high side.

The prices are pretty crunchy...

First, the positives. Service was attentive and the ambiance pleasant. The bread with the meal was fresh and fluffy. Unfortunately, my tartare was more like mush than tartare, as it wasn't chopped but rather pureed. Which was a real shame, as the quality of the meat was very good. But my fish soup (16 euros) wasn't French, it was cheeky. Of the 5 mussels, 2 were empty 😅 not a single shrimp in sight, and 3 were overcooked pieces of salmon. The broth had been cooked for too long and was therefore slightly oversalted. I asked the waiter about the soup. According to him, everything was as it should be. What a shame.

Awful service staff! i went here for a coffee stop with my tourist friend and they did not let us charge our phone because apparently the electricity costs extra. Btw I checked how much it costs to charge the phone to 100% and chatGPT said it’s 0.034 cents. So not even 1 cent 😃 How do you expect to make a good impression on tourists by behaving so stingy in a high-end chain. Embarrassing!!

We left after 20 minutes without being served on a Tuesday afternoon... what a pity! The menu looked good!

This is my third time having breakfast here, and the food is excellent. The service is very friendly and you feel at home.

Scrambled eggs with bacon were just warmed up and not fresh, and the latte macchiato was the cheapest vending machine (it's even better at the gas station). No thanks, not a second time.

We had lunch at Café de Paris in Cologne, and it was a complete success! The ambiance is charming and cozy, perfect for a relaxed lunch break. The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The friendly and attentive service made the visit even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a pleasant atmosphere!

I've been going to this café (formerly under a different name) for over 25 years, but I have to say, I'm becoming increasingly reluctant. The service has deteriorated beyond belief. The (slightly older) lady at the reception desk is snippy and inattentive. The waiter with the black glasses used to be very courteous, but now he doesn't even smile (not just for us; I've noticed this at other tables as well). He seems extremely arrogant and didn't accommodate my requests (e.g., a lemon in our water). As a (regular) customer, do I have to apologize to the staff if I want to order something? I've accepted the high prices for drinks and food because of the nice ambiance. But you really have to start thinking about finding an alternative. It's a shame.

The service was poor. Everything took far too long, and we had to repeatedly ask what we wanted. We were completely ignored. Unfortunately, that drags everything down.

One to try for sure. We ‘discovered’ cafe de Paris searching around for breakfast options. Ended up eating there twice over our 4 day stay. Also, diverted there on the way back one evening for that last drink. Morning and evening were both characterised by excellent service, great choice, very friendly and lovely atmosphere.

You're left waiting at the door for a long time. Even though we arrived early, we waited half an hour, and they said they couldn't serve breakfast because it was past breakfast time. But overall, it's a very good place. We recommend it 👍 Delicious food and friendly staff.

There were eight of us there, and we didn't have to wait long for either our drinks or our food. The selection is extensive, and special requests are readily accommodated. The service was very attentive and always checked to see if everyone was satisfied. The prices are a bit on the high side, but that's probably due to the central location.

The coffee place looks beautiful from the outside but the service was very disappointing. The waiter saw us waiting, passed by us twice, and clearly seemed unwilling to serve us. Sadly, it felt as though we were being judged based on our appearance (we were wearing headscarves), which is truly disheartening It’s such a shame for a place with so much potential to have this kind of classist attitude

Cafe de Paris impressed us with its delicious and high-quality food. Whether inside or outside in the patio, the ambiance is truly pleasant. The concise menu speaks volumes about the quality, with the homemade pasta being a particular highlight. Definitely a great spot on Ehrenstraße that lives up to the hype.

I can recommend Café de Paris. They don't have a huge selection of food, but what they do have tastes really good. I find it a bit expensive here, but in Cologne, it's more of a posh restaurant, which is why it's usually full. So, you should definitely make a reservation. The waiters and waitresses are all very nice, without exception.

It is over prized and the force you to leave a tip without even suggesting it. I paid 80 euros for a hamburger and a dish of spaghetti carbonara. The worst was the super slow and bad service, and at the end the not even asked for the tip, they put it directly in the receipt without letting me know. Totally not recommendable.

They serve delicious ice cream, good coffee, and Italian almond pastries. Friendly service. Seating is limited, with only a few spots on wooden benches in front of the door.

I don't want to give a direct recommendation here and now; the service wasn't good enough, and they were more concerned with other things on their phones than with taking care of the customers. It's a shame, really, because it'll be ages until I have time to do something with my wife again.

The Chardonnay Punktlandung from Weingut Lorenz & Söhne in Rheinhessen was delicious.. :) The pasta with shrimp was quite salty for my taste.. the shrimp were okay.. but I've had much tastier dishes.. I wouldn't order it again if it stays like this..

We love this place! Delicious food, great atmosphere, superb service

I had reserved a table for two people for a Sunday and pointed out that it was a birthday and I would like a separate table. Unfortunately, my wishes were not accommodated in any way. Instead, they tried to randomly squeeze us in somewhere. There were no reserved tables, as we later discovered, as guests even had to get up suddenly because they forgot to push the necessary tables together for a larger group that had also reserved. The breakfast itself was good. There was a wide selection.

Has nothing to do with Paris. But it's an expansive/fancy location.

We've been to this restaurant several times in the past, and I even left a five-star review on Google because the service was fast and friendly. Unfortunately, on August 19th, we received almost no service at all. Our food was brought quickly, but the plates weren't cleared for a few hours, and the drinks we ordered afterward didn't arrive for over an hour – despite repeated reminders. I even had to go to the counter myself to ask again. Two male waiters were in charge of our table, and they seemed very indifferent to us. The situation was completely different at the next table: a small group was celebrating a birthday and were being served by a female waitress. The service there was attentive, friendly, and fast. While she received a full menu with appetizer, main course, dessert, and drinks, we continued to sit with dirty dishes and wait for our drinks. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience.

Unfriendly staff. We needed to use the restroom due to a medical emergency. I was told we had to pay €1 – which is fine and standard practice. I then ordered a drink. However, the staff treated us very dismissively. No service until I asked, and they smiled stupidly. Their attitude toward us was as if we were too "poor (?)" or too young (21 years old) to be in the café. We were dressed for Gamescom – regular casual. Our stay was very unpleasant, and it felt as if they didn't want us there.

I went there for breakfast and enjoyed it. However, I found it a bit overpriced for a slice of bread with avocado cream and tomatoes.

The food was good and the place is also really beautiful, but the service was bad. I think they were just two for all the tables, then it took a lot to order and after that to pay.

After being allowed to freely choose a table upon request at the entrance, I wasn't handed a menu for 10 minutes, even though two waitresses walked past me several times – including the one who had given me free seating. When she served the next table again, I asked for the menu. She replied that she was still busy. I asked if I could get it myself, as I had an appointment right away and would like to order. After pointing me in the direction of the menu with hand signals, the "good lady" disappeared and didn't come back. So I went inside to place my order myself and immediately explained the situation, whereupon the woman walked in and immediately assured her colleagues that I was misreading the context. I asked her what her perspective was. She countered with a sentence and immediately moved on when I responded to what she had said. I asked why she couldn't listen to me when I was talking to her. I had been listening to her too. She, she was busy. Then, around the corner, she seriously called out "Psycho," an interesting projection after I complained about her. At first, I thought I'd missed her, and when she returned a moment later, she literally asked me what she had just said. She simply walked on. The formerly proper, black-haired waiter, standing next to me, noticed it just like the others, on the same level; she wouldn't have said anything. The other waiters, by the way, were perplexed, as was I, and didn't intervene. She repeated the same thing as she left. I then insulted her, too, after which she threatened me with the police, whom I subsequently spoke to, just so that such things could be resolved more sensibly in the future. The police officer I spoke to advised me against the Café de Paris anyway, which I acknowledge, but I wouldn't have gone back anyway, especially since the waitresses allow a 50/50 probability (4 visits) of being inattentive or even far from good or evil. In retrospect, though, I should have called the police on your behalf right away instead of stooping to your level. Incidentally, that was the older waitress with shorter hair. In that sense, karma never forgets. The food was fine, by the way, and the bar staff were very friendly. What a shame.

Very nice ambience and friendly waiters

Very nice café, in a great location. Both the exterior and interior are truly reminiscent of France. Attentive staff, who initially informed us that we could take a large table for two if there was room and we wanted breakfast. The only thing that could be improved is the drinks ordering process. Unfortunately, we had to remind people a few times. But everyone was always friendly, and I'd be happy to come back.

Despite a bill of over €280, including rounding up the amount by card payment plus a €10 tip, the waitress felt compelled to complain – incomprehensible. The service was, unfortunately, very poor, as it had been on previous visits. This was therefore our last visit. We had to wait at least 30 minutes or more for drinks each time, even though we repeatedly pointed out that orders were still pending. Hygiene and orderliness also seemed lacking. Although five waiters were on duty, guests sat outside for a long time without drinks. You can enjoy oysters and other specialties elsewhere – where service, organization, and appreciation are still a top priority.

We had a coffee, which was good. However, the older woman who served us was quite unfriendly and rude, which unfortunately really spoiled our experience here.

I kept coming to Cafe de Paris very often due to its great location. The menu is okay but not amazing. What makes the experience so disappointing is the extremely rude staff. Even when the place is half empty one is not allowed choose where to sit. I wasn’t allowed to charge my phone, they wanted me to pay 15€ for using the charging station. Seems elitist and not customer friendly. Everything a restaurant should not be.

By far my all-time favorite, most delicious Wiener Schnitzel EVER.

Breakfast at Café de Paris was recommended to us by friends. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were immediately seated at a quiet table on the terrace. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for our drinks (30 minutes) and even longer for our food (almost an hour). Regarding the overall experience, the price for food and drinks is completely unjustified and almost outrageous.

The Café de Paris in Cologne is a very nice and cozy café. The decor is beautiful and stylish, the service is super friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. I'll be happy to come back next time I'm in Cologne.

All three dishes were truly delicious and special! The truffle mayo was incredibly good! The drink prices seemed more expensive than elsewhere. A 0.15L glass of wine for €7.50 or €7.90 is quite steep. The latte macchiato was very good, hot with perfect milk foam!

The stuff were rude. They didn’t let us pick a table even tho half the restaurant was empty, a Monday morning. Had the pancakes and were bad, store bought and not freshly made. I sent them back. Disappointing. Overall a bad experience, shame cause we booked specifically this place because of the instagram pics and had high expectations, I wouldn’t have bothered if I knew the quality of it. Also, the cheapest chocolate sauce in the pancakes, really not worth it

Because of the ambience, we decided to have some coffee there at the weekend, and I also tried the chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream. The coffee and dessert were delicious, but unfortunately I think the price-performance ratio is completely inadequate. I think the portion size is very small for the price you pay. To make matters worse, the waitress was very superficial and aloof. Unfortunately, she seemed completely unfriendly and very uninterested in us young couple. We didn't feel like we were in good hands at all; she looked at us as if to say, "What are you doing here?" She was definitely very unpleasant, and her cold aura really put us off, so we would never order anything there again, and would never recommend it. A real shame! You should never forget that first impressions are of great importance to customers. Friendliness is a foreign concept. Apart from the ambience, unfortunately, there is nothing positive to report.

The Café de Paris can't even begin to compare to the flair and ambiance of 4 cani. I ate there today and the service was disastrous. The waiter kept walking past you without taking your order. When the food was finally served, the portions were very small and the taste was a disaster. The prices were also disastrous. I'd say they'll never see me again. Unfortunately, my time at 4 cani is over.

I wanted to have a drink with a business associate at the Café de Paris after 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Although several set tables for two were available, we were seated at a boring "cat table" – a small, uncomfortable side table with only one chair, without any decoration, which apparently otherwise serves as a place for coolers and ashtrays. The decision to go elsewhere wasn't difficult for us. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've been treated this way. Regulars should be treated differently.

Outstanding food and drinks. The steak cuts with truffle mayonnaise are excellent, as well as the tuna terijaki variations. Great service as well and super friendly staff.

The ambiance was great, but I can't rate the food. My daughter had a cinnamon roll (almost eaten), and we wanted something to eat and drink. An undermotivated and visibly overworked employee then very rudely informed us that this wasn't acceptable. (I understand this principle.) We were shown to our table. But what did she achieve with her behavior? We will never return, we will share our experience with our friends, and: lost sales! Suggestion for improvement: service training! I came there for breakfast. Everything was very tasty, the establishment is very beautiful and cozy. Breakfast is for every taste, both for those who adhere to a healthy lifestyle and for those who want to relax. But the waitress left not the most pleasant impression, a long wait for the dish, plus faster service for those who came after me. The criteria for giving priority remained a secret.

A very nice café with a perfect ambiance. We ordered a breakfast platter for two, and the food was delicious; the only downside was that the rolls that came with the breakfast platter were a bit hard. Otherwise, the service was very friendly and the music was soothing, fitting the ambiance.

This place is totally overrated. If you want to dine outside with a few shisha bar owners in their Lamborghini in a no-parking zone, this is the place for you. It's also very loud outside, as the same souped-up cars are constantly circling just a few centimeters from the tables.

After waiting 10 minutes, asking the waitress twice that I wanted to order, nodding at me, and not coming, I left. I wondered why I wasn't served. So I left.

A cozy atmosphere, pleasantly reminiscent of France, very friendly staff, and delicious food! Upon request, my daughter was given a portion of French fries, even though they weren't on the menu. And my cappuccino was perfect. We were there at lunchtime, and it wasn't too crowded, but it was well attended.

Everything was nice - very, very friendly service. Organic eggs! Delicious coffee! Ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, but it was nothing - it tasted like concentrate.

A successful venue. The atmosphere is nice. It is in a very nice corner. The operators are Turkish. The chairs are wooden due to the weather conditions, a little uncomfortable but overall it is a recommended place for the price and performance.

Long waits and not very friendly staff.

We ate here on May 30, 2025. We got a table spontaneously and received very friendly service. We also found the food very tasty. We both had the Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad, which was delicious. It was quite busy on the weekend. Nevertheless, the waiters and the kitchen staff had everything under control.

We ate delicious cake and had a great cappuccino there. Everyone was very friendly and everything was very fresh. Thank you very much 😊
