The food is just as fantastic as the place itself. One of my absolute favorite spots — always a pleasure to come back🫶🏼😽

Long waits and not very friendly staff.

We ate here on May 30, 2025. We got a table spontaneously and received very friendly service. We also found the food very tasty. We both had the Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad, which was delicious. It was quite busy on the weekend. Nevertheless, the waiters and the kitchen staff had everything under control.

We ate delicious cake and had a great cappuccino there. Everyone was very friendly and everything was very fresh. Thank you very much 😊

High quality. Not everyone can afford it. But the food is great, everything is fresh. Unfortunately, we only had to wait 30 minutes for the menu.

We got a table very quickly. Unfortunately, the food was cold when we received it. The taste was okay. Otherwise, the ambiance was very good. When the weather is nice, it's worth sitting outside.

I don't know if all the tables were full, but even though I said I wanted to eat, I was guided to a table that was too small for eating. Most of the breakfast menu items were egg dishes, but it was disappointing that the eggs were lukewarm. It's better to go there to enjoy the leisurely and peaceful cafe atmosphere rather than the food.

Café de Paris is located in the heart of Cologne's city center. To long-time Cologne residents, the location is still known as 4Cani. An illustrious crowd gathers at Café de Paris. The ambiance is very stylish yet cozy. The menu is extensive but not overly elaborate. From oysters and champagne to burgers and small salads: there's a dish for every budget. It's fun to put a little effort into your outfit to do justice to the stylish ambiance.

Chicken breast salad: iceberg lettuce, dressing, chicken breast. Uncreative, disappointing, overpriced!

Very crowded, reservations in advance are advisable.

We were there for lunch (from 1 p.m.) and had reserved a table. The ambience is absolutely appropriate. I would have just liked some light French background music. Then you could also think you are in Paris. The food is upscale, for us very good in terms of taste, presentation and absolutely appropriate in terms of quantity. The icing on the cake is the service. Friendly, courteous and not intrusive, but always available. Highly recommended.

We were here for the first time today, but we will definitely come back! Despite the slightly higher prices (when we looked at the menu; we only got a coffee) it was highly recommended. My vanilla chai latte was very tasty and the pancakes from the neighboring table also looked great. The service was generally very friendly, but another, slightly younger lady became a bit unfriendly when we accidentally tried to enter the café through the wrong entrance...

We came for breakfast on a weekday, no wait. Food was fabulous with both a beautiful presentation and very tasty.

Breakfast great, employees courteous and nice. Although you come with children and as a classic tourist. I really had reservations, but they were completely overcome by the nice people there.

Compared to the visit a few years ago, the quality of the breakfast has decreased significantly. The rolls were of poor quality, small and very hard, as if they came from the previous day. The quantity of toppings was just enough considering the price. We probably won't visit Café de Paris again.

Very nice location, super delicious food, and above all great breakfast - we have been going to Café de Paris for brunch for years. Unfortunately, the service has decreased recently and no longer seems well coordinated. Even though it wasn't overly busy, we had to wait 20 minutes on the weekend before we could order. After more than half an hour we finally had a coffee, but it took another while for breakfast to arrive. Luckily we had enough time, but a family at the next table even left because of the long wait to order.

Just perfect – especially the truffle pasta!

We were there with 4 people and just wanted to drink coffee. It wasn't very busy, but a coffee still took over 10 minutes. We also waited a long time to pay.

The four of us wanted to go and have a relaxed coffee. 50% were served quickly, the rest waited longer. When we asked for milk with our coffee, we were served in an exasperated manner and I asked for the bill three times. The arrogance of not giving a tip was legendary.

Great corner cafe with Parisian charm. Service top and very friendly. Delicious eclaires/tarts. A highlight of the Parisian Chocolatte with melted chocolate on the edge. I really enjoy coming here.

Everyone gets something for breakfast here. Whether healthy or classic, the menu reflects every taste. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside. Why only 4 stars? The cheese was partially dried out and the knives weren't sharp.

This is the place where you will be judged by your clothes from head to toe and will not meet you if you need something. The waiters will not smile at you if you do not order food from 100 €. The establishment is beautiful, but the administrators and waiters do everything to prevent you from coming there just to drink coffee 😏

Was there spontaneously this morning. I was warmly welcomed and seated at a small table. The drinks were good. The service was polite. The ambience was great. Which isn't possible at all. The toilets should be cleaned more often!!

Das hat heute gut gepasst. Mir war der Standort noch aus den Zeiten des 4Cani bekannt, mit entprechend anstrengendem und teils stichigem Publikum. Das Rindertatar war sehr schmackhaft und ansprechend serviert. Gleiches galt für die Steak Frites, wobei das (dünne) Fleisch perfekt gebraten war und auch Röstaromen hatte; ebenfalls sehr lecker. Die knackige Preisgestaltung -auch und insbesondere bei den Getränken- entspricht der Lage.

Unfortunately unfriendly, slow service. I was even “harassed” by the staff inside! Not recommended!

Dropped in here for Saturday lunch. Restarant was very busy, but managed to get a table outside. Good menu, a little on the pricey side but the food was excellent. The service however was very slow. Took 20mins for the drinks order to come, was only 2 beers, and on asking for the bill, took a further 25mins. They looked understaffed, so was maybe just bad luck for our visit. Service aside, this place serves great food and is nicely situated.

Unfortunately my visit there wasn't as I imagined it would be. I was there during the week, on Tuesday, and just wanted to have a coffee. Unfortunately, after unsuccessful attempts to draw attention to me (I didn't get up and go in), it took 15 minutes until I was spoken to by a waitress. After I ordered my cappuccino, it took just under 20 minutes. Which, in my opinion, is a bit long considering that another table has now been added. Nonetheless, the cafe was fine. Unfortunately, I had to ask three times when paying to see if I would get the bill. All in all, it's a shame it turned out that way. I really like the café and the location, but that wasn't my first bad experience with you... I would still like to come back and let myself be surprised, maybe it will work better next time!

Went with a friend for an afternoon snack/hot drinks break. Sat outside with the heaters, waited a long time for the waiter to show up. Ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate, when we got it, both drinks were on the colder side.... The "hot chocolate" was more like foam mixed with a bit of powdered chocolate, it had no taste at all. Told the waiter he could take it away cause i didn't like it, he asked if i wanted another one, i said no thanks, but it looked like he didn't understand the why.. so, he brought another one, literally the same, but warmer, that sadly i also sent back. Tasteless and just foamy.. we also ordered a fondant (lava cake) it took forever, was tiny, looked like it took longer to put the plate together than to make it and on top of everything it wasn't even warm... But, at least it tasted okay.. Inside the restaurant it looked like it had a cool vibe, + It has a diverse menu, with drinks that were good price, thats why the 2 stars instead of just 0. Do not recommend.

Nice place, drinks were fine. However, on the expensive side and the staff was unfriendly. First we waited a long time for our drink, then for the bill. We had to pay and waiter then walked away with the money and we didn't get our change back!!! Very rude place

Rose Monday, the Cafe de Paris employs an employee at the front door to offer customers a table. Unfortunately, he is not particularly service-oriented because he seems overwhelmed by this task.

Strange characters walk around as guests and do whatever they want!!! The waiter was just getting the table ready for us, some strange person would like to come in and sit at our table and the waiter doesn't even dare to say anything. Shame on the store!!!! It's not what it used to be...

I would like to describe our experience in your restaurant as I would like to address some serious criticisms. Upon arrival we noticed that our food was cold. Although the waitress tried to improve the situation, the implementation was anything but satisfactory: without consultation, the flank steak was skewered from our table with a fork and disappeared into the kitchen. When it was returned to us, it was - welldone - so inedible that we decided not to eat any more. Since other dishes remained cold and even got colder, we were completely surprised and disappointed. The situation escalated when, when we asked, the waitress began to discuss things internally and justify herself with arguments - a no-go in the guest room. Our expectation would have been that in the event of a shortage, the entire course - not just a part - would be prepared or reheated. However, I found the personal conversation particularly hurtful: When I asked why my companion in particular didn't want to eat anymore, we were met with the remark “Women just.” This blanket and discriminatory statement is unacceptable to me and has really offended us. Although we were offered two cokes, an additional hot drink and a dessert to make up for it, this could not alleviate the impression created. We weren't interested in monetary compensation, but in the principle: In a restaurant - regardless of whether it's a fast food restaurant or haute cuisine - guests should always be treated with respect. The experience of having to deal with such an approach and such unprofessional communication not only cost us time, but also left us permanently disappointed. I hope that you take this criticism seriously and take the necessary measures to avoid such incidents in the future.

Tight and staff can't keep up with service. More for ring audiences

A nice bunch there and a positive atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food isn't convincing at all. It was a bit too easy for me... which is okay, but please don't worry about the prices. The burger was served cold but then replaced, which was positive. I was missing any “decoration” on the burger. Just the burger on the plate doesn't convince me for €16. I'll just drink my coffee here and enjoy the atmosphere. Maybe I just had too high expectations...

After receiving my starter, I was no longer noticed. The tables to my left and right were served. After the service came to my table after an hour of waiting, I asked for the bill. The EC device was held out to me without any information about what I should pay. No thanks, no please, no sorry.

It's a bit difficult to get a seat without a reservation. But the food is very, very tasty.

Service was good and tried to find solutions to bad seating. Nevertheless the tables are way too close together and the waiters had too many tables to serve. Especially in winter time the tables close to the windows are freezing. The food was of good quality. For my taste a bit overpriced. The meat was lukewarm on two of our plates. We didn’t complain and didn’t give them a chance to make it right, so I can’t base my rating on that point. Nevertheless in this price category something like this shouldn’t happen. Dessert was way too sweet.

Our stay on February 14th was very disappointing! It starts with the quality of the service, no bread with the tartare, and in between you don't ask if everything is OK or if you need anything else. The tartare is very sinewy, we don't know that! A piece of bread would have rounded this off, but in vain. And now the kicker: waiting 1 hour for a bill while we watch how other guests get everything. We think the waitress had a personal problem!

The atmosphere was nice and it was cute because it was Valentine's Day and there were balloons. The avocado toast was ordinary. However, my companion said that the beet Caprese cheese wasn't very good and almost all of it was left behind.

My daughter wanted to eat at Cafe de Paris on her birthday. I booked a table about 2 weeks in advance via Quandoo and also received a confirmation. 2 hours before I received a call and was informed that the reservation was canceled because they were expecting a large party. Even after I explained to the gentleman that it was a birthday, nothing could be done. 2 hours in advance is not possible... That's rude and unprofessional.

We had already reserved a table for 6:20 p.m. by phone a week in advance. However, when we arrived we were informed that there was a private party that evening. The only apology was: “Oh, my colleagues probably didn’t know.” This was particularly disappointing because we had traveled a long distance and it was a birthday present. A look at the reservation book before tables were allocated could certainly have prevented this.

One of the best restaurants in Cologne! We've been here a few times and I usually go for the tagliatelle with black tiger prawns - they're incredibly delicious every time. This time I tried the steak, and what can I say? Simply fantastic. The Béarnaise sauce with truffles in particular was absolutely amazing. However, the fondant au chocolat didn't really impress me; it just lacked a certain kick. I can only warmly recommend the cheesecake – really delicious! You don't really have to do anything about the ambience say – beautiful. The service is also friendly. However, sometimes it seems as if they are a bit understaffed. Still worth a visit again!

As soon as the waiter noticed that we didn't speak German, he completely changed his attitude and was very rude. The contrast with the service offered to other tables was obvious. What a disservice! I don't recommend it at all. Fortunately the dishes were excellent! This is what saved our evening. Better to pass as other comments before mine mention. In addition, the waiter tried to impose a huge tip on us which was not at all deserved.

Friendly service The only point is that like many other restaurants/cafés in Cologne, the tables are unfortunately too close to each other and therefore little privacy. Today, on our first visit with a friend, we were constantly approached and sometimes harassed by two older men. The tables were too close to create a suitable distance. But otherwise I would like to go again.

The "Café de Paris" impresses at first glance with its Parisian flair - from the elegant furnishings to the atmospheric background music, you actually feel a little like you're on the Seine. The atmosphere is charming and authentic, if a little stiff. The audience is rather upscale and presents itself as very style-conscious, which seems appealing at first glance. However, the younger clientele in particular - especially the women - often come across as a bit arrogant, which can spoil the relaxed enjoyment. It seems as if you have to "groove in" a little in this restaurant in order to feel comfortable. The kitchen, on the other hand, leaves nothing to be desired: the pike perch fillet was excellent - cooked to perfection, with a wonderful crust and of first-class quality. The side dishes harmonized perfectly, so that the food alone justified the visit. Conclusion: Anyone who can adapt to the upscale ambience and the somewhat distant charm of the audience will be rewarded with exquisite cuisine at the Café de Paris. Recommended for connoisseurs who have a passion for French flair and culinary perfection.

No, it is not a review against my former employer, I just have the utmost respect for what has become of it!! Very courteous staff where I always feel welcome - great food - perfectly priced!! Delicious food at appropriate prices right in the middle of the action, the staff is nice except for one waitress, but no matter, you can't please everyone

Been there three times, and I have to admit that all the hostesses are pretty rude. But the waiting staff is amazing. The biggest standout is a blond young lady with a bun who looks a little like a ballet dancer. I watched her and she can handle the toughest clients. She is always friendly. The breakfast is delicious. The breakfast platter one for two and the omlette with cheese and tomatoes are great choices. Sitting in the entrance area during freezing temperatures when the automatic doors keep opening is not very comfortable. Management should figure out a solution for that. The backseats are tight and the tables small. Just like in Paris. Personally I don't mind the tight eating arrangements, it's charming. But it can be a little tricky when you order a combo for 2 as the tables are simply too small for it.

For me, one of the best-run cafes/restaurants in Germany. At 9:00 a.m. sharp, all the service staff are there, well dressed, in a good mood and cheerful, to professionally accompany the high volume of guests and to ensure that all guests have a great stay. And all this until late into the night. Great! Great breakfast, great food in general, best drinks and all in the best shopping district in Cologne. Simply next level. Be sure to reserve on Saturdays!

Well, first of all we got a table straight away, but we didn't get a card, which I had to get in person. I got a cafe that not only tasted very much like something else and wasn't exactly good quality, but also didn't correspond to the price. To be honest, the water tasted a bit metallic and the waiting time was quite long for a dessert. The ambience was super nice and gives you a warm feeling

Can’t comment on food as we didn’t even get that far. Waited at the door to be seated, stood there for over 5 minutes whilst the staff looked at us from afar and didn’t greet us or show us to a table. Ended up walking out and eating elsewhere. Shocking service.

New Year's Eve party absolutely top! Really good music - thanks to the DJs, super friendly staff, nice atmosphere and friendly people celebrating. Even the security men at the door were friendly and accommodating. We'll be back - with food too! Happy New Year to the team and thank you for working while the guests celebrated

You can have a great breakfast there

I usually have my morning coffee here, and overall, it's a lovely spot. The ambiance is charming, and the coffee is consistently good. However, the service in the morning leaves much to be desired. The lady working during that time is quite impolite and takes an unreasonable amount of time to both take and serve orders, even when I am the only customer there. This detracts from an otherwise pleasant experience.
