Everything is perfect here - ambience, cuisine and great service.
We had various tapas and a bottle of rose. The prawns in garlic are a dream.
Will definitely come back...
We ordered shawarma to take away twice. After 15 minutes we were able to take the food with us, the boss even gave us 2 fresh falafel, which tasted crispy and very juicy. Even when we ate the shawarma two hours later, we were thrilled at how incredibly delicious it was.
A must try in Meiningen!

In terms of spices, meat and taste... just not the price
We were there today for the first time and also for the last time. We were more than disappointed. The food had no taste, a total of 6 pieces of meat (sliced size) in one portion for 11.90 euros. It's a shame that the price is not justified for this food.
Delicious, homemade food, without any frills but very tasty. Very nice hospitality, if you're lucky, even a poem or history from the village. I really enjoy being there.
Had another wonderful evening in the “Zwinger”. Great food, nice waiter, good prices and everyone was happy. Thanks also for the wonderfully designed birthday table and for responding to special requests. Looking forward to the next time.
I was there today at 5:00 p.m. and ordered fried noodles and fried rice with crispy duck. They didn't type anything into the cash register and I didn't get a receipt either. Card payment was also not possible because there was supposedly no paper for the cash register and card machine, even though you could see the paper in the card machine. It didn't have a visible red stripe yet. The food should be ready in 10 minutes. Apparently these were individually divided into a total of 52 minutes. Well, maybe the food makes up for it, I thought, but far from it! The fried rice tasted like too much glutamate, so much so that it gave me a furry tongue and was therefore inedible. The noodles were tolerable, but the duck meat was straw-dry and tasted of nothing. I for one will never go there again. Too bad about the duck meat. The poor animal died in vain. If you're an innkeeper who doesn't pay a receipt and just puts the money in the open cash register, you have more than just a culinary deficit.
Food was super tasty 🤌🏾👌🏾 and a lot. Despite the many guests, the service was totally friendly and very attentive and present. Visited 03/29/25 6:00 p.m
