Das Henneberger Haus ein tolles Ambiente und sehr gute regionale Speisen.

Tolles Essen zu guten Preisen. Nette zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Zu unserer Hochzeit wurden die Tische sehr toll hergerichtet. 5☆

Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert und auf Empfehlung des Hauses die „Schäufelchen mit Klößen und Rotkohl“ gegessen. Ein Gedicht!! Der Rotkohl war mit Kirschen gemacht- ungewöhnlich und extrem lecker. Die Schweineschulter zart und die Kruste dennoch knusprig. Der Service war sehr gut und die Preise angemessen. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Meiningen werden wir hier gerne wieder einkehren!!!

Wir haben klassische deutsche Küche gesucht und gefunden! Sehr freundliche Kellner!

Super schönes, historisches Gebäude. Bewerte nur das Restaurant. Übernachtet habe ich leider nicht dort , kann mir aber gut vorstellen nächstes Mal diesen wunderschönen Ort dafür zu wählen. Das Personal war super nett, das Essen gut und reichlich. Auch wurde sehr großzügig abgerechnet. Habe einen Kloss weniger bestellt aber das Schäufele hatte natürlich normale Größe und Rotkraut gab es so viel mann wollte. Bezahlen sollte ich nur eine Senioren Portion.

Erneuter Besuch zum Mittagessen anlässlich kleiner Geburtstagsrunde: Alle zehn Gäste erhielten gleichzeitig ihr Essen, das schmeckte. Bedienung war freundlich. Schnitzel u Pommes-sehr große Portion-einen Zusatzpunkt wert! ‐----------------------------‐------------------------------- Leckeres Essen, abwechslungsreiche Karte, regionale u saisonale Gerichte, klassisch u extravagant, freundliche Bedienung u tolles Ambiente, auch outdoor. Reservierung ist vorteilhaft. Kleiner Abzug, da am Freitagabend schon um 22h Schankausschluss ist.

Die Speisen sind ok, aber die Getränke inzwischen jenseits jeder Angemessenheit: Ein O-Saft-Schorle 0,4 zu 6,00 Euro ist absolut überzogen ...

Tolles Frühstück, aber Enttäuschung im Restaurant 20.04.2026 Übernachtung und Frühstück waren absolut in Ordnung. Wer den rustikalen Stil mag, fühlt sich hier wohl; mein Zimmer war angenehm groß. Das Frühstück wurde direkt am Tisch serviert – ein echtes Highlight! ​Leider konnte die Küche am Abend da nicht mithalten. Die Spargelcremesuppe war ungleichmäßig warm (außen kalt, innen heiß) und sehr salzig. Mein Schäufele musste ich reklamieren, da es kalt serviert wurde. Das Rotkraut war leider völlig verkocht und viel zu zimtlastig – der Kommentar der Bedienung („Geschmackssache“) war hier wenig hilfreich. Nach dem Aufwärmen hatte das Fleisch zudem einen seltsamen Beigeschmack. Lediglich die Klöße waren wirklich lecker. Insgesamt leider kein kulinarischer Erfolg.

Zimmer kann ich nicht beurteilen, da ich nur zum Mittagessen dort war, hat gut geschmeckt Portion recht ordentlich Service sehr aufmerksam u freundlich Ambiente hervorragend u Lokal ist mitten in der Stadt in der Nähe vom Theater.

Restaurantbesuch an einem Dienstag, das ist heutzutage kaum noch möglich, deshalb ein großes Dankeschön an das Henneberger Haus. Super Bedienung und gutes Essen, wir haben uns richtig wohlgefühlt!

Wir können nur positives berichten und werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Waren vor Kurzem mit der Familie dort. Essen war gut, aber preislich sehr hoch. Man muss mehr als 30 Euro pro Person mittlerweile dort einplanen. Getränke sehr teuer, für eine 0,4l Cola mittlerweile 6 Euro. Also das Preis Leistung Verhältnis stimmt für mich nicht mehr.

Ein historisches Gasthaus mitten in der Altstadt. Die Küche ist gut bürgerlich mit einem hohen Anspruch an die Qualität. Der Service ist freundlich und sorgsam. Alles in allem, man kann dort gut essen in einem angenehmen Ambiente. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Waren zu dritt dort. Ein hoch auf das Handwerk. Der Chef weiß was er macht. Ich hatte das Schäufele. Fleisch perfekt vom Knochen gegangen. Krosse Kruste.Das Fett war wie Pudding und die Sauce🫠 zum reinlegen!!! Das Tonkabohnen creme brulee war auch Super. Wow🥰 komme auf jeden Fall wieder! Vielen Dank für die Geschmacksexplosion. Preis Leistung 100% man wird nicht enttäuscht .

Das traditionelle deutsche Essen war sehr gut & es schmeckte alles frisch & so wie es sein soll. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich & zuvorkommend. Wir hatten nur unsere Kreditkarte dabei, jedoch war das dank der möglichen Kartenzahlung kein Problem. Bei vielen anderen Gastronomen in Meiningen ist dies leider nicht möglich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Der Salat und die Ente, sowie die Thüringischen Klöße, die Soße und der Rotkohl waren hervorragend!

Wir haben Roulade und Wildbraten gegessen, jeweils mit Klößen und Rotkohl, letzterer sogar mit Kirschen. Äusserst lecker, die Sauce phantastisch.

A quaint inn in a historic half-timbered house with excellent cuisine. Not exactly cheap, but worth the price. I especially recommend the tender roast lamb, served with a delicious gravy. I was just a shame that we were almost the only guests during lunchtime. A more affordable lunch menu would certainly bring a bit more excitement here...

Very nice location, especially the beer garden. The pork fillet was unfortunately too dry for me, but the rest was good. Dessert prices were quite high. The service was excellent, which isn't always easy with a large group.

We had lunch here last Sunday before going to the opera, sitting on the terrace in the beer garden. I would have preferred sitting outside rather than under the party tent. But it was still very nice. The portions are generous! And very tasty. We had shoulder of pork and beef roulade. Not a summer dish, but excellently prepared.

We always enjoy going to this restaurant. The Thuringian cuisine is excellent and the staff is very friendly.

We had lunch here for our daughter's wedding. We were very pleased; everything was beautifully arranged and lovingly decorated. We were only there to eat. We were served very friendly and attentively and the food was excellent.

The house is great, the food is great and authentic. There are a few rooms that aren't openly advertised but are fun and authentic (and affordable). Maybe not a ***** room, but totally fun and pretty with original old doors in the old house - above the city!! The bathroom and bed are modern, a good combination. We would love to come back!!

We (4 people) had dinner at the Henneberger Haus. The food was excellent and the service from Friedrich Kellermann was unbeatable. My drink request was even fulfilled, even though it wasn't on the menu and he had to get it from outside. As far as we're concerned, we'll be coming back here again. Once again a big thank you to the whole team.

5 stars – absolutely deserved! We had a wonderful stay at the Henneberger Haus in Meiningen. The welcome was warm, the service was consistently friendly and attentive - you immediately feel welcome. The dinner was really delicious: fresh, cooked with love and without a lot of frills – just to the point. There are no wishes left unfulfilled. Our room was quiet, clean and very comfortable - we slept like logs. Overall, there is a charming, relaxed atmosphere throughout the house that simply feels good. Conclusion: If you are looking for good food, a good night's sleep and genuine hospitality, this is the right place for you. We would love to come back – and hope that the food will be just as good again!

We were at the Henneberger Haus for a family celebration. It couldn't be more rustic. Beautifully furnished, stylish, creaky stairs, really cozy. Great food, great drinks, friendly, competent and helpful service staff. Keep it up!

The Henneberger Haus is a real gem from the outside, and you come in with high expectations. The dining room then invites you to relax and unwind. For us, this was the start of our visit to the State Theater. Apparently this is also practiced by many celebrities, as the countless autograph cards in the restaurant show. The service was very friendly and our drink and food requests were implemented in a very timely manner. A look at the menu shows that the main courses mostly cost between 25 and 35 euros. In my opinion, this is appropriate for the quality of the food. I can recommend the chicken skewer I chose with a clear conscience: bacon-wrapped pork fillet with Ajvar sauce with Romanesco and rösti. Felt very well on the tongue! Thanks for the great time!

Ich hatte mich mächtig auf den Petersfisch mit bunten Karotten in Wermut-Limettensauce gefreut und wurde leider sehr enttäuscht. Der Fisch war ähnlich einem Schnitzel paniert und schien auch dementsprechend lange in der Pfanne gelegen zu haben. Das Möhrengemüse hat an meine Schulspeisung in den siebziger Jahren erinnert. Nicht, dass dies grundsätzlich schlecht gewesen wäre. Wermut oder Limetten konnte ich jedenfalls nicht herausschmecken. Es gab aber auch etwas Positives — die Pasta war al dente…

Were in the restaurant here. The food is always excellent, good German/Thuringian cuisine and very generous portions. Everything went quickly and the service was good. The Obstler is also highly recommended. We often go here for dinner privately or with clients.

We were here for lunch. The high prices put us off at first, but it was also very tasty. The portions could have been a bit larger, but the restaurant is still recommended.

When the restaurant is open until 9:00 p.m., but you're greeted at 7:30 p.m. with "the kitchen is closed," you wonder how provincial the town of Meiningen has become. It's a good thing the welcome at Ristorante Villa Colosseo was more cordial—and the food was delicious, too.

We were there on Boxing Day and I can't recommend it - nor would we come back again. The food was really tasty and plentiful, it has to be said. But the service was really very subpar. The waitress was standing in the restaurant on the holiday wearing a tank top, which is simply not appropriate - other waitresses were wearing a shirt, which fit the picture better. And the following really doesn't work at all: I asked politely whether the sauces were cooked with red wine and the answer was "I have no idea, but it's overcooked anyway" - an absolutely fatal and technically incorrect statement; this can have fatal consequences for pregnant women and former alcoholics. Upon request, I asked in the kitchen, but thanks to that first statement, I no longer had a good feeling about the sauce... It's a shame that you weren't taken seriously as a paying guest.

Die Gaststätte war sehr schön eingerichtet, man hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Bedienung war mit Leib und Seele dabei, sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend, machen sie weiter so ( am 3.12 da, hatte ein schönen Ofenplatz gehabt) Auch ein großen Dank an die Küche, es war sehr , sehr lecker

The Henneberger Haus is highly recommended on all levels. A super nice, friendly team that fulfilled all of our wishes attentively and easily. We come from Munich and the food is top and can definitely compete on an international level. We wouldn’t have expected that at all “in the province” ;). Very rich and wonderfully tasty. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who likes good food. We would love to come back and wish the entire team all the best!

We stopped there for lunch. Rustic and cozy atmosphere. The food comes quickly and is fresh and tasty. The service could be a little more attentive and the lady who came to collect might be a little friendlier. The toilets are clean and modern despite the historical condition of the house. Anyone staying in Meiningen should stop by here.

We went to this restaurant based on a recommendation and it was absolutely fine. The food was plentiful and very good. The service was attentive and a small ordering error was generously corrected. It is also advisable to pre-order here.

There were around 20 of us and we had made a reservation and pre-ordered the main course because we didn't have too much time. The female waiter was definitely in the wrong job. The reception already seemed like a burden. No one could miss or hear her “being annoyed”. When ordering an appetizer she responded rudely as it was not pre-ordered. Changes or small modifications to the not inexpensive main course were not possible. So we at least assumed the food was ready. But that was absolutely not the case. I often go out to eat, but here I waited as long as if I had just ordered from the menu. Therefore, I was even less able to understand the reasons why the guest's wishes could not be fulfilled. The food was tasty, but not upscale compared to the high prices. After we had already spent much more time waiting than planned, this increased during the actual act of paying. All 20 people paid individually and we actually had to stand in line in the really chic and quaint but also very narrow restaurant!!!! The waitress, who was now obviously about to explode with anger, was now reaching the limits of her patience. She didn't look at anyone. I had to wait a very, very, very long time (to be able to pay for my food) and their behavior was, for me personally, unique in terms of rudeness! Your obviously nice colleagues were already trying to appease us and noticed our displeasure. In addition, our queuing significantly hindered further operations in the restaurant. So I personally wouldn't want to eat there again.

This restaurant, which specializes in Thuringian dishes, is very appropriately housed in the historic, rustic bar of a 130-year-old building in the Franconian half-timbered style (I didn't use the hotel). The dishes are based on traditional recipes and of good quality, and the service is friendly. You should pay attention to the kitchen times.

We came unannounced, very tasty food, very nice, very attentive service, great ambience, a straight 10 out of 10, you don't find something like that that often in the industry anymore, we'll definitely be back.

We were passing through Meiningen with our bikes (Werratal bike path) and wanted to fortify ourselves in the restaurant on Sunday evening for the next day. The lady at the counter: did you make a reservation? nope... then unfortunately it works out "lack of staff, There were 2 tables occupied, the others empty, if we had reserved there would have been more staff present that day??? for 2 hungry guests who cycled over 90 km 🤔 with 4 people or more I would have seen it, Great service, nowadays everything seems to be blamed on a lack of staff... - the house will definitely not see us again...😤

Delicious dinner. Delicate and hearty dishes. Super quality price. Very friendly service and chef ready to make a sabayon in 5 minutes to replace vanilla sauce... a delighted family! A big thank-you!

We ate there. Ambience: very nicely decorated, old house. Cozy and we felt comfortable. The food was very good for everyone and portions that would also fill men well. Clear recommendation. I would particularly highlight the small beer garden/terrace. You look into the green and you pass a stream on the left and right.

Location in Meiningen is great! Between the theater, castle park, "Fürstenhof", Elisabethenburg residential palace, the city center with the renovated market square and partly restored buildings, it is a pleasure to walk and look at the city center ensemble. The restaurant "Henneberger Haus" was our first choice last Sunday early in the evening for 2 smaller dishes. After 75 minutes we were already on the way home and had 2 "classics from the menu in our satchel, as they say😁 "Schnitzel Wiener Style" and chicken liver with apple slices, onions and kart puree." Recommended! There was also a friendly staff with good service.🫶
