Lecker Essen mit netter Bedienung. Direkt neben der Kirche gelegen hat man einen tollen Blick auf den Marktplatz. Das Schnitzel kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. Das Bier schmeckt. Alkoholiker sind willkommen, aber nur wenn Sie sich benehmen.

Schöne alte kleine Kneipe mit viel Charme. Wirt ist herzlich und Bedienung freundlich. Reservieren ist unbedingt erforderlich.

Von Anfang bis zum Ende, ob Personal, Gastronomie oder Essen. Einfach alles perfekt.

Erst einmal...habe ich über die negativen Bewertungen gelacht. Sehr amüsant. Faktisch ist es eine grandiose Location wo man den Alltag abschalten kann. Der Wirt ist ein Wirt wie er im Buche steht. Freundlich begrüßt, ich fühlte mich von der ersten Sekunde willkommen und verstanden. Das ist ist gnadenlos lecker!!! Das Ambiente passte zu allen. 100 von 10 Sterne! Wer Gemütlichkeit erleben möchte, ist hier willkommen. Es ist nicht nur eine "Stube", es ist ein absolut vollwertiges Restaurant wo Menschen willkommen sind die es auch zu schätzen wissen wollen. Einfach grandios und Dankeschön für diese tolle Erfahrung

Das Essen war lecker und ansehnlich angerichtet. Das Ambiente war schön - einen Stern Abzug gibt es für die Kälte im Gastraum. Scheinbar gibt es keine Heizung oder sie war aus. Natürlich immer Empfindungssache. Auch hier merkte man, dass Gäste wo alleine kommen in der Gastronomie nicht unbedingt gern gesehen sind. Auch als junger Mann gehe ich Samstags am Abend gerne alleine essen. Abgesehen davon, dass ich beruflich in Meiningen war. Sonderlich willkommen fühlte ich mich nicht - im Gegensatz zu Gästen wo als Paar oder Gruppe vor Ort waren.

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant mit sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Bedienung. Das Essen war hervorragend. Habe etwas vegetarisches bestellt, da ich einfach besser schlafe, wenn ich abends kein Fleisch esse. Es war wirklich lecker und endlich einmal nicht einfallslos. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen, wenn ich wieder einmal in Meiningen bin.

Das Essen in der Ratsstube Meiningen lässt sich am besten als Thüringer Heimatküche mit modernen Akzenten beschreiben. Die Karte bietet eine große Auswahl. Hier sollte jeder fündig werden. Ich hatte eine Roulade mit Thüringer Klößen und Apfelrotkohl. Dazu ein Meininger Pils. Alles war Tipptopp 😋 Der Service ist freundlich und Du bekommst Deine Bestellung zügig. Das Essen wird in dem historischen Fachwerk-Ambiente serviert, was den Aufenthalt besonders gemütlich macht. Im Sommer gibt es zudem die Möglichkeit, draußen direkt am Marktplatz zu sitzen und das Treiben in der Innenstadt zu beobachten. Hier kannst Du authentisch Essen und einen guten Abend haben 🤩 ‼️Kleiner Tipp: Wenn du am Wochenende oder vor einem Theaterbesuch dort essen möchtest, solltest du unbedingt reservieren, da die Ratsstube aufgrund ihrer zentralen Lage oft ausgebucht ist.

Wir waren mit dem Service und den Speisen sehr zufrieden und können dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen! Wir hatten das Schnitzel mit Spiegelei. Sehr lecker!

Kleine Gastwirtschaft mit leckerem Essen und freundlichem Service

Wir waren mit 4 Personen zum Abendessen. Der Service war hervorragend, der Kellner sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war geschmacklich und mengenmässig absolut top. Gute deutsche Küche! Hier in diesem tollen Ambiente fühlt man sich einfach nur wohl! Kann man nur empfehlen! Vielen Dank!

Rustikales Ambiente, gemütlich. Die Roulade mit Klößen und Blaukraut war super lecker.

Wir sind sehr herzlich schon vor der Tür eingeladen worden . 2 Menschen wollten nur eine Kleinigkeit, die nicht auf der Karte standen. 2 andere haben sich eine Bestellung geteilt . Es wurden alle Wünsche erfüllt. Tolles Ambiente. Sehr sympathischer Team. Sehr zu empfehlen.

A very, very good atmosphere, the food very well presented but not above average. For example, I explained my taste sensation about the bratwurst in a calm, quiet tone so that no one would overhear. It had obviously been frozen beforehand (I can judge this very well), and you can taste it. As a Thuringian and local, I know how it should taste, but the proprietor wasn't happy about it, and he made a big deal out of it. That's unacceptable, especially not for that price! He loudly humiliated me in the dining room just because I had a hidden criticism. I had deliberately said it very quietly! Where does that happen?! Reasonably good dining, but it doesn't reflect the usual Thuringian cuisine and quality! Please look elsewhere for a reference. This isn't worth the price! SUMMARY: GOOD THOUGHT but ALMOST A BAD NIGHT. A lot of money, and as a customer, you have to be humiliated! He told my wife what she would have chosen for "one"! Just because I found the sausage taste a bit moldy, which I packaged very nicely. No, that's not possible!

We had lunch at the Ratsstube in Meiningen. We were very satisfied so far. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only criticism was that if crispy duck is offered, it should be crispy. Otherwise, tip top.

The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy. I would rate the food as okay/average, but the price was a bit too high.

This evening, August 23, 2025, we dined at the Ratsstuben in Meiningen, not for the first time. As a native of Thuringia, I haven't eaten such a good roast beef in 20 years. My wife and I are glad to have been able to experience it. We're certain we'll be back.

Das Personal ist freundlich, die Wartezeit auf das Essen war recht lang,obwohl wenig Betrieb war. Dafür war es frisch zubereitet. Leider bin ich beim 3. Bissen auf ein Haar gestoßen. Die Kellnerin meinte, sie müsse sich das anschauen, hat die Reklamation weiter gegeben und der labidare Kommentar: das könnte mal passieren. Klar kann es, es ist unschön aber ich hätte statt dieser Bemerkung eine Entschuldigung für angebrachter gehalten

The food was delicious. The menu isn't overly extensive like many other restaurants, but it offers a good selection of local dishes. The atmosphere is cozy and well-maintained. I had to wait a while for my food, even though a whole table had ordered before me. The attentive waitress even asked me if I wanted more sauce. Great. The value for money is also good. Highly recommended!

A very nice place on the market square in Meiningen. Unfortunately, there aren't many restaurants in Meiningen anymore, so you can really be glad that the Ratsstube exists. The food is truly delicious, and the great service rounds off a pleasant stay.

A quaint inn in the old town/pedestrian zone of Meiningen, overlooking the market square... a beautiful location and a perfect outdoor area for sunny days... the menu is varied and regionally focused... such as a Thuringian plate with the appropriate bratwurst... the quality and taste are excellent... it's nice that they offer a regional beer on tap... the price is on the high end, but still reasonable... the service is attentive, friendly, and always has a fitting saying ready... unfortunately, that's not so common these days... the ambiance is traditional for such a venerable restaurant... and everything is very harmonious... we would gladly return at the right time...

We were there with two small children. The service was excellent and very accommodating, especially kind to the children. The food was very good and plentiful, and the wait time was reasonable. The inn itself was very quaint, perhaps a little too old-fashioned. All in all, we would go back. :-)

I had a delicious duck with dumplings and red cabbage. Very tender meat. It came with a delicious sauce.

We reserved a table and had a great time, and the food was even more delicious! Quaint atmosphere! Our server was quick-witted and up for any laugh. It's nice to see that there are still cheerful staff! That's not always the case. We'll be back!

At first, the wait seemed a bit long, but that might have been because I was hungry. I was rewarded with good, traditional home cooking. The service was very friendly. The ambiance rating detracts from the tables and chairs in the market square. It's simply a matter of taste; I prefer sitting with at least some sort of protective covering rather than just sitting in the market square. But as I said, everyone has a different opinion. The food and service are simply excellent.

The dinner was delicious and there is also room for smaller groups (10 people).

Either I was too hungry, or the portion was really quite manageable “for a full grown man”. I would have expected more from the beef roulade and from the way it was made.

We came to visit with two small children and felt comfortable. We were warmly welcomed at the reception and throughout our stay both the owner and the service staff were friendly and attentive. We would particularly like to emphasize the great consideration and flexibility in dealing with our children - this is not a given and made our visit very relaxing. The food was also excellent: fresh, tasty and lovingly prepared. We would love to come back and can highly recommend it to everyone!

Wir hatten Spargel und Kartoffeln mit Sauce Hollandaise für 18,50 € bestellt. Bekommen haben wir für den Preis 5 Stück Spargel dazu 5 kleine halbe kleine Kartoffeln. Dieser Preis ist völlig überzogen und nicht zu Rechtfertigen für die Größe der Portion.

Super tasty and very cozy. Spiced meat as a starter (it's not on the menu as a starter but since there are schnitzels with spiced meat, they were kind enough to make one for me). The main course is rosemary roast pork with red cabbage and Thuringian dumplings. I have rarely eaten such a tender and juicy roast. Food was beautifully prepared. I'd love to come back

The food was simply excellent – ​​freshly prepared, perfectly flavored and prepared with great attention to detail. The ambience is also convincing: the historic building creates a cozy, inviting atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The beer garden in the inner courtyard is an additional highlight and invites you to linger. Great restaurant with delicious typical food. The ambience of the council room is great, a rustic room with historical wood paneling, something you don't find that often - we sat in the upper area, which is connected to the lower part by a narrow staircase. The service was great, we were served quickly, friendly and very personably. The food was typical of the country and very tasty - we had dumplings with roasted thyme and they were very tasty 😋 for dessert there was an excellent crème brûlée, which was recommended to us by the friendly waitress. The price/performance ratio is good - an absolute recommendation from us 👏🏻

Auf der Suche nach einem urigen Restaurant haben wir die richtige Wahl getroffen. Sowohl das Essen als auch das Bier ließen keine Wünsche offen. Aber auch die lockere Atmosphäre und die netten Gespräche mit dem Wirt trugen zu dem gelungenen Aufenthalt bei; als Rheinländer konnten wir einen tieferen Einblick in die Mentalität der Thüringer gewinnen. 😀

Super leckeres Essen! Wir hatten Thüringen Teller mit Bratwurst, Rostbrätel, Zwiebeln und Bratkartoffeln. Die Bedienung ist freundlich, das Essen kam schnell. Alles ist frisch zubereitet. Auf Grund der sommerlichen Temperaturen konnten wir im Biergarten sitzen, der eine schöne Atmosphäre bietet.

I was there today with my family, as well as my aunt, uncle and cousin. We thought the prices were a little high at the beginning, but when the food came the prices were justified. Everything was very freshly prepared. My wife and my cousin had the Thüringer Rostbrädel plate, meat and bratwurst had nice roasted flavors, fried potatoes were crispy, my aunt had pasta with wild mushroom cream sauce, which was also very good this year, my uncle and my son had schnitzel with wild mushroom cream sauce and fries, the fries were fresh , crispy and also well salted, I had rosemary roast pork with red cabbage and Thuringian dumplings, the roast pork was so tender that I didn't need a knife at all, the dumplings were original Thuringian and the red cabbage was fresh and not from a jar. We can recommend the restaurant 100%. When we are back in Meiningen we will go there again.

We were looking for a German restaurant and found this place. Unfortunately, there were “reserved” signs on all the tables, even though not all the seats were reserved. Between ordering drinks and ordering food, the waiter made us wait a long time and wasn't particularly friendly. The food came in a reasonable time and tasted very good. It is best to book your seats in advance.

Essen wollten wir nicht, nur trinken und Fußball sehen. Der Wirt hatte ja ne Leinwand. Personal sehr freundlich, Wirt arrogant, unfreundlich und selbstgerecht. Ich hole mir einen Stuhl und stell den an den Tisch. Spreche mit einem Gast. Stuhl weg Wirt stellt den Stuhl an einen anderen Tisch. Ich : du stellst mir schon wieder einen Stuhl hin? Er, der Wirt, ich räume auf. Hatte aber gesehen dass ich mir den Stuhl da hingestellt hatte und ich mich setzen wollte. Er hat mir einen Stuhl hingestellt war aber angepisst. Dieses Verhalten konnten wir öfter beobachten auch von anderen Lokalitäten aus. Was ich nicht begreife ist, dass wir an dem Tag,als das mit dem Stuhl war, sitzen bleiben durften und das Spiel sehen konnten. Die anderen Tage hätten wir uns nur an die Stühle und Tische setzen können wenn wir auch etwas gegessen hätten. Leider ist der Wirt nicht Kritikfähig und lässt jede, der Wahrheit entsprechende Kritik, entfernen. Nie wieder diese Lokalität. Schade um sein Personal.

Es kommt der Spruch, Zitat: " Kein Essen, dann mindestens 3 Weizenbier." Zitat Ende. Das war Ernst gemeint. Tagesmenue 18€. Weizenbier 4,50€ Frech und Unverschämt. We were promised the next free table would be reserved for us. The next free table was given to other people in front of us! Not like that! We were then very well entertained in the castle rooms.

A great, rustic restaurant with attention to detail. I had an incredibly delicious rosemary roast. Quality 1A, everything handmade, wonderfully seasoned and a generous portion. Price performance top! The innkeeper, who was also the manager of the restaurant, was very friendly and accommodating. No long waiting times. When I'm back in town I know exactly where I'm going to eat :)
