We went to the Steam Locomotive Days in Meiningen at the weekend and to the Athene Pallas in the evening. We were very surprised at the great atmosphere this restaurant has. We haven't found a comparable Greek restaurant at home in the city, although there are a few Greeks here. We sat on the terrace in quiet surroundings. The food not only tasted excellent, it was plentiful and something special to the eye! The house donated the salad garnish. The young German waiter in particular, as well as the boss himself, were courteous and took great care of us. We'll come back when we're in Meiningen.

Those who gave 1-3 stars here speak from my heart. My husband rated this restaurant two stars. Rightly so! The owner didn't like that at all. GOOGLE deleted this review. Where is the right to freely evaluate? The "winter garden" was put together, the food was only partly what we ordered, the waiter didn't understand us and it didn't taste good. It would be nice if this rating stayed in the system. THANKS Google.

Disappointed by such amateurism At the front door we laughed when we read “Mask requirement” and “... a healthy new 2023”!!! There are actually makeshift partitions between the tables. Are you traveling back in time to 2020? Since negative reviews have occurred almost exclusively in the last few weeks, it may be. Have you changed operator or have all previous bad reviews deleted? One does not know ... But now to the food: Unfortunately, almost everything we had seemed to come "from the bucket" (finished products that you can buy yourself in the supermarket and eat at home), but well, the prices were correspondingly low. What's disappointing is that you don't get what's on the menu. Breaded "sheep's cheese" is made here from Gouda or similar, tzatziki without any advertised accessories, the Kalamon olives (they have to be self-ripened dark olives) so no green or blackened ones like those served here. The mixed bread and toast slices served with the starters are completely wrong. Where am I? In a Greek restaurant??? etc. etc. Conclusion: Never again! PS: you can't pay by card here for "technical reasons". But apparently with Paypal, Googlepay or other electronic methods??? *lol*

Worth one star at most... In the summer, almost raw meat, the fries were covered in cheese, even though I as a customer didn't ask for it, and when I asked, there was no new portion. We had ordered more drinks, we received the bill and were sent off!!!! SAD!

Excellent! Fast and friendly service

A place to eat really full, delicious... and the value for money is still amazing. We feel very welcome there and it's always fun to have a chat with the boss or the staff. Everything 👌 okay in this restaurant.

Oh man. We had the feeling that the restaurant had just reopened after Corona. The reining plans from 2020 were still hanging on the toilet! Simply cleaning it thoroughly wouldn't be very time-consuming, but it would be helpful. Although, the food is actually the most important thing in a restaurant and that was subpar. Where do I begin? The cheese cream (Tirosalat) tasted like Gorgonzola - or moldy sheep's cheese? Baked eggplant/zucchini slices (Tiganita) were very good in themselves, but the ready-made garlic paste spoiled everything. The saganaki wasn't sheep's cheese but grilled cheese - but it tasted good. The eggplant cream seemed homemade and tasted good, but had little to do with anything familiar. Taramas was a finished product - not recommended. The tzatziki was best, even if the cucumber slices and dill sprigs were missing. And by the olives - it says Kalamon, maybe some of them were actually Kalamata olives. The Florinis didn't really contain sheep's cheese as an ingredient either. And the toasted bread and brown bread wasn't Greek either. And the fish dishes smelled so bad... Sorry, more than disappointing. I actually love Greek cuisine, but this was a total failure. No card payment possible!

Sat at a long table in a patched together extension. Orders at the table after a good hour. Wrong orders brought, menu incorrect. Quality of the food is mediocre to poor. Service underground, at 5:30 p.m Taken a seat, the first drinks an hour later. Never again

1½ hours of waiting, BUT it was worth it.✨️ Gyros a bit greasy, but otherwise great. The chicken, just wow and I can only recommend the house fries.

Thoroughly worthy of 5 stars! Food very tasty, freshly prepared and served with style on the plates. Tastes perfect! Staff very accommodating and friendly, and atmosphere suitable and cozy. Blankets have even been thought of for outdoor areas for cold days/evenings. Price-performance ratio very good: meals have remained quite affordable despite inflation, but drinks are (now normal) at higher restaurant prices. But all in all, always worth a visit!

We were in Meiningen on business today and found this restaurant via Google. Very friendly welcome, large selection and cozy atmosphere. We received large portions that were very tasty. Since we couldn't eat that much, the rest was very lovingly packed with new salad for us to take away. A clear recommendation and thank you very much!

Wer die griechische Art zu essen und zu leben mag, der ist in dem Restaurant gut aufgehoben. Wir waren, auf Empfehlung ortsansässiger Freunde als Gruppe am Samstag vor dem griechischen Osterfest da, und weil es uns gefiel, kamen wir tags darauf noch mal. Das Essen typisch griechsich. Und so auch das Ambiente. Ein warmherziger, persönlicher Empfang durch den Kellner. Soweit wir das mitbekommen haben, ist es wohl ein Familienbetrieb, oder zumindest ein Betrieb mit ebensolchem Betriebsklima. So kamen wir später auch mit dem Wirt selbst ins Gespäch. Die Griechen gehen sehr gut auf Wünsche ein, man muß sie nur mitteilen. (Will man etwa sein Essen schnell haben, kommt es schnell. Will man lieber gemütlich Zeit miteinander verbringen - so bei uns bei unserem zweiten Besuch am Sonntag - bekommt man Zeit.) Gern kommen wir wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in Meiningen eine Veranstaltung haben.

Unfortunately, not a restaurant worth recommending. The taste and quality were absolutely subpar. I was so looking forward to Greek food and was bitterly disappointed.

The restaurant went against my detailed 2 point rating after around 13 months!! filed a complaint with Google. I have now deleted them. This approach reinforces my personal perception and I will continue to avoid this restaurant.

Be careful, Google wants to delete negative reviews again. Why actually? You are no longer allowed to express your opinion if it is true. Then why is there a review portal? Only for positive reviews? Then that's fraud.

The food there was delicious and the drinks were great too!!! There was salad as a starter on the house and an ouzo for everyone at the end on the house too!! The service was super friendly and nice!!!! If we check into the hotel above again, we'll be happy to come back! It's worth a visit!!!

The best restaurant in all of Meiningen. The team is always very nice and accommodating. The portions are always sufficient. The food is super delicious. Very child-friendly restaurant. The food was very good and generous portions, I should have left out the starter. As always, the staff was very friendly and open-minded and always had a funny saying on their lips. Really great value for money, no exorbitant prices.

Very friendly staff and food was good. There used to be a dessert or an ouzo, but unfortunately it's no longer available. Unfortunately the tablecloth wasn't that clean and should have been looked after better.

We were there for Valentine's Day and sat very comfortably in the winter garden despite the house being full. From the starter to the main course to the dessert, everything was delicious and visually very appealing. What was particularly noticeable and unfortunately seen less and less was the extreme friendliness of every single employee. This, together with the good food and the cozy annex, made the evening a successful visit to the restaurant. Absolutely recommended.

Bedienung wirkte sehr undreundlich und genervt. Waren als Familie anwesend mit 2 Kindern und 2 Freunden. Essen war okay aber würde wohl das möchte mal woanders Speisen da mir das Lokal auch zu dunkel war und ich mich etwas unwohl fühlte.

Wo soll ich anfangen mehr schein als sein sie verkaufen minderwertiges essen zu holen preisen und nennen dies günstig und frisch es ist alles andere als das magenschmerzen & magenkrämpfe vorprogrammiert!!! das fleisch trocken und nicht ordentlich durch die cola war abgestanden der salat war einfach nur wiederlich und alles andere als frisch das angebliche knoblauchbrot ist 1€ toastbrot und wird überteuert verkauft fliegen, spinnen und spinnennetze überall Nicht nur das war der grund zu sagen hier kommen wir nicht mehr her sondern auch die unfreundlichkeit der chef ist an unfreundlichkeit nicht zu überbieten hatte eine warme vorspeise bestellt und hatte etwas anderes bekommen mein mann hatte es dann für mich gegessen aber ich wollte den chef drauf aufmerksam machen das er mir das falsche brachte er schaute mich an und sagte was willst du jetzt? Was soll ich da jetzt tun! Wir dachten es wäre spaß gewesen aber das war es nicht er meinte das ernst jeder andere hätte gesagt ist ok kommt nicht nochmal vor mein mann und ich redeten darüber und anschließend wollte der chef sich noch entschuldigen weil er es anscheinend mit bekommen hatte seine entschuldigung war wir haben nicht einen ruhetag diese woche gehabt sind müde aber ganz ehrlich das ist keine entschuldigung so mit seinen kunden umzugehen kunde ist könig und der ton macht die musik ich und meine leute die ich kenne werden nicht nochmal bei diesem restaurant essen sowas kann ich nicht guten gewissens wie empfehlen!!!

We visited this Greek restaurant on a short trip to Meiningen. We had made a reservation on site the day before. The village plate and the vegetarian eggplant tasted good, but were not of the highest Greek standard. Unfortunately, the dishes on the menu were not changed according to the system and cost 1 euro more than stated due to the current 19% VAT. But we only found out about this when we asked. Unfortunately, as a guest who chooses according to prices and the desired dish, you are not very happy about it.

During a very late meal after a visit to the theater on New Year's Eve, we were treated to a very friendly, delicious and attentive meal. Thank you for that and all the best for 2024.

Gutes und reichliches Essen, nette Inhaber. Immer wieder sehr schön hier. Eine absolute Empfehlung! Zudem gibt es viele kostenfreie Parkplätze direkt am Restaurant.

Auf dem ersten Blick etwas unscheinbar und doch wurde man sehr freundlich und einladend empfangen in einem meines Erachtens nach sehr schönem und gemütlichen Ambiente mit südeuropäischem Einrichtungsstil. Die Gerichte waren ebenfalls sehr gut zubereitet und angerichtet. Die Speisekarte hatte auch einiges in ihrer Auswahl anzubieten, sowie auch sehr gute Kombinationen von verschiedenen Gerichten. Das Personal war sehr nett und man konnte sich gut mit ihnen unterhalten. Bisher eine klare Restaurant-Empfehlung.

Gutes Essen und reichhaltiges Angebot. Dazu nette Bedienung, was will man mehr. Wir sind immer wieder gern hier.

Man wurde direkt am Eingang begrüßt und zum Platz geführt.Wir waren jetzt 2 Mal hier, einmal auf der Außenterasse und einmal drinnen. Jedes mal top Service-die Kellner sind immer freundlich und man kann sehr gut mit ihnen lachen. Die Ambiente ist ebenfalls sehr schön, sehr angenehme Musik im Hintergrund und die Bänke/Stühle sind ebenfalls angenehm. Das Essen war sehr lecker aber die Kalamaris waren etwas salzig und die Metaxasoße schmeckte etwas eigen, man muss dazu sagen es war HAUSGEMACHT also ist es ok, daß es anders schmeckt als bei anderen Griechen. Alles im allen sehr nett und schön und auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen.

Wir haben abends mit acht Frauen im Restaurant gegessen. Es war sehr lecker, die Bedienungen waren aufmerksam und immer für einen Spaß zu haben. Gut zu empfehlen. Gerne wieder.

Wir waren Gestern mal wieder im Athene Pallas und waren sehr zufrieden. Einer der 2 Kellner hat uns sofort die Karten gebracht und nach Getränkewünschen gefragt Der 2te Kellner nahm die Bestellung auf,es herscht ein freundlicher Ton,die Kellner sind zuvorkommend. Die Speisen sind optisch schön arangiert und lecker. Die Kellner liefen Beide immer wieder alle Tische ab und erkundigten sich bei Blickkontakt nach den Wünschen der Gäste. Sie waren sichtlich um das Wohlbefinden der Gäste bemüht. Weiter so,wir kommen gerne wieder

Hervorragender und aufmerksamer Service, Kundschaft wird höflich begrüßt. Regelmäßig wird erfragt ob alles in Ordnung ist. Ambiente wirkt sehr gemütlich und sauber. Essen und Getränke war sehr gut, auf Wünsche wurden eingegangen. Preis und Leistungsverhältnis stimmt voll und ganz! Wir können dieses Restaurant nur weiter empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder! :)

Essen sehr lecker wirklich große Portion en, Preis günstig.

Wir waren schon mehrfach hier Essen und sind jedesmal wieder begeistert. Das Essen ist super lecker, typisch Griechisch. Die Portionen sind groß und definitiv ausreichend. Vorallem für den Preis. Portionen, die nicht geschafft wurden, werden liebevoll eingepackt und nachgarniert. Der Kellner war super freundlich, zuvorkommend, aufmerksam und hat sich für nette Gespräche Zeit genommen. Es gibt Sitzplätze innen und außen mit genügend Platz, fast wie im Urlaub. Allgemein ist das Restaurant typisch griechisch dekoriert und im Hintergrund läuft angenehme griechische Musik. Auch einen Espresso gab es aufs Haus. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir kommen immer gern hierher es passt einfach….. wir sind immer sehr zufrieden Essen passt Ambiente passt und der Service ist sehr höflich

Also wir waren hier 2 mal essen 1 mal vor 2 Wochen und einmal Gestern. Wo soll ich anfangen also essen wie schon einige andere sagen Metaxsa soße is einfach wasser mit Sahne und ich würde schätzen Knorr Gemüse Brühe und damit ungenießbar. Fleisch is egal bei was trocken und versalzen außerdem zu lange gegrillt wurden und es sind beim Gyros und beim Lamm viele Knorpel und Fett das würde so in keinem anderen Restaurant serviert. Die Pommes sind komplett versalzen und ich weiß nicht wie jedes Mal komplett kalt da rettet auch der Käse der drauf is nichts mehr. Der Reis is aber noch schlimmer entweder is er Geschmacklos oder war auch in nem Maggi oder Knorr Bad. Kalmari und Fisch würde ich meinen Feinden hier nicht empfehlen die soße beim Fisch riecht als wäre der 3 Wochen alt und schmeckt sehr toxisch die kalamri wurden 3 mal warscheinlich warm gemacht sind aber trotzdem eiskalt als waren sie gefroren. Nun zu den Getränken beim ersten Besuch Bier ohne Schaum halb leer das heißt stande schon 10 min oder länger an der Theke dann Radler ich WEIß nicht was die machen aber es kann doch eigentlich nicht so schwer sein. Naja dann dufte ich beobachten das das Bier aus Flaschen kommt obwohl eine Zapfanlage da is auf die frage warum sagte eine Dame an der Theke mit schlechtem deutsch sie könne es nicht . Normale Getränke wie cola sind komplett verdünnt und ohne Eiswürfel schade eigentlich. Wo wir gerade bei verdünnt sind wenn ihr einen Ouzo bekommt freut euch aber wir haben uns extra welchen bestellt weil mal bekommt man einen mal nicht auf jeden fall wollten wir gerne einen haben Endeffekt wir haben ein Ouzo Gemisch mit 80 % wasser getrunken. Beim 2 mal war einiges besser gab dann immerhin schaum beim Bier und die Dame hat sogar Eiswürfel in die Getränke aber verdünnt wurde trotzdem leider. So nun zur Bedingung es kommt drauf an der Chef is ne komplette Zumutung 0 Kritik fähig unser Tzatsiki war sauer da kommt er mit 5 oder 10 Liter Eimern die er vor 5 tagen gekauft haben will rabatt gab es trotzdem nicht aber egal. Weiter zu den anderen der in sage mal Haupt Kellner is nett aber sehr gestresst wird aber vom Chef auch gefühlt nur angeschrien , während er nichts macht. Dann gab es noch einen ich würde sagen 17 Jährigen der sehr nett war. Er hat uns erzählt das er gerade da erste mal dort aushilft dafür hat er es sehr gut gemacht. Der kleine war auch mit Abstand der die meisten Meter gemacht hat und immer mit einem Lächeln was man bei dem anderen Kellner kaum gesehen hat. Kommen wir zum Ambiente also wir saßen 2 mal draußen beim erstenmal wollten wir raus und gestern halt mal rein sagte man uns gleich das sei nicht möglich drin wäre voll meine frau war ein paar minuten später drin und es waren wohl einige Tische frei aber naja dann bewerten wir halt außen und die Theke wo ich bezahlt habe PS es gibt keine KARTEN ZAHLUNGEN OBWOHL 2023 ??? Also traußen man sieht den bauschaum die nicht gesicherten Fenster man sitzt auf Garten stühlen die nicht mal zusammen passen drin is viel zu laute Musik und überall tote blumen oder Staub Dreck tote fliegen und vieles mehr. Auch die Teller und Gläser hat man angesehen das sie an dem Abend nicht das erste Mal benutzt werden . Im groben und ganzen Plant Zeit ein also ne stunde aufs essen und nach dem essen noch mal 45 min auf die rechnung warten is normal. Würde ich es empfehlen? Nein auf keinen Fall es gibt in Meiningen noch einen anderen Griechen der viel besser seien soll! Das testen wir die Tage.

Es ist ein griechisches Restaurant, wo man auch mehrmals hintereinander hingehen kann! Alles ist sehr lecker und die Bedienung ist sehr zuvorkommend! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder! 👍👍👍

Für diesen Ort ist es ein Top-Grieche, der sehr freundlich und zuvorkommen in gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis steht. Beim Essen und trinken sind wir bisher nie enttäuscht worden. Das Ambiente ist vielleicht das einzige woran man noch arbeiten könnte.

Wir gehen wirklich gerne her. Das Essen schmeckt wirklich gut und ist doch ziemlich authentisch , die Servicekräfte sind freundlich und aufmerksam und die Einrichtung ist schön.

Kein Grieche...weder Personal noch das Essen

Im Gegensatz zu früheren Besuchen hat alles nachgelassen, falsches Essen bekommen und Geschmack auch nicht mehr so, wie wir ihn kannten, und dann eine Frage, gibt es keinen Uso zum Abschluss mehr ? Und einen kleinen Nachtisch (Joghurt mit Honig)gab es doch sonst auch? Wir haben 60 € für 2 bezahlt, da wäre das doch bestimmt drin gewesen.

Schönes Ambiente. Das Fleisch (Schnitzel, Hähnchen und gefüĺltes Schwein) war gut. Jedoch sollte bei Brot (Toastbrot!?) sowie den Soßen mehr Wert auf Qualität gesetzt werden. Ouzo gab es auch keinen aufs Haus. Da man einen anderen Qualitätsstandard griechischer Restaurants, wie in der Heimat, erwartet hatte, war diese Location vom Essen leider sehr enttäuschend.
