Restaurant Delphi in Meiningen

I know this restaurant much better. Unfortunately, this time the gyros and fries were already cold and didn't taste very good either.

The food was delicious and the service very friendly. It was cozy, and I'll definitely be back!

We were a group at this restaurant and were unfortunately disappointed in almost every aspect. The owner initially served us himself, but it still took a very long time before anyone even took our drink order – only after asking several times. The drinks themselves then took a considerable amount of time to arrive. Throughout our entire visit, the service was inattentive and rude. We were repeatedly ignored, empty glasses were left untouched for ages, and refills were only offered after repeated requests. Basic courtesies like "please" and "thank you" didn't seem to be second nature to the staff. Particularly irritating was a situation in which a waiter visibly rolled his eyes in annoyance when we asked about it – behavior that is simply inappropriate in the restaurant industry. Many things went wrong organizationally as well: The appetizers didn't arrive for about 1.5 hours, the main courses for about 2 hours – and even then, not all at the same time, some of them lukewarm, and some with the wrong side dishes. To top it all off, the bill included drinks we hadn't ordered. The error was corrected after we pointed it out, but with careful accounting, it shouldn't have occurred in the first place. When we calmly and objectively addressed the issues with the owner after the meal, he reacted very unprofessionally and showed no understanding for our criticism. The food itself was palatable, but the poor service, the long wait, and the disrespectful treatment of guests completely overshadowed the evening. In short: A disappointing experience on all levels – from the service to the handling of feedback. We advise against visiting.

The price-performance ratio is fantastic, and for the price you get a very good portion and quality.

The two of us entered the restaurant on November 1st, 2025, precisely at opening time, 5:30 PM, along with a few other guests (about five people) who were ahead of us. I explained that there were only two of us and that we were looking for a table. We were immediately asked if we had a reservation, which we declined. One of the three or four waiters standing around then told us that there were no tables available. The restaurant was completely empty, huh? We were surprised and left, disappointed. We are glad that there are still restaurants in this world where two people can be warmly welcomed without a reservation. This restaurant could definitely learn a thing or two.

We didn't have a table reservation and were able to get a seat anyway. Even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait long. The price/performance ratio is good, and the food is delicious.

Plenty of food. The salad is large. The fries are highly recommended. The service is very friendly. We'll gladly come again.

My regular Greek restaurant for many years. It's great that they offer ouzo on the house before and after. The cheese on the garlic bread is unfortunately no longer as tasty and generous as it used to be. The dishes with Metaxa sauce are all delicious. The price of wine spritzer is similar to that of pure wine, which could be improved. The new, somewhat older, waiter has very poor hearing and thus takes incorrect orders and misses the tips. Otherwise, as always, it's busy and accordingly noisy, especially with larger groups at the adjacent tables.

Make a reservation in advance! We wanted to eat there spontaneously but couldn't get a seat.

Unfortunately, spontaneous dining isn't possible here. Reservations are required. I was told this was pretty rude! There's no mention of it on the website. A real shame...

Was the first time here and what can I say..... it was just great

Let's start with the bad: Service was a bit chaotic that day. Everything else was top-notch. Great food at good prices.

We've been going to this Greek restaurant with our collie for years. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and the food is just what we like. Highly recommended.

I can wholeheartedly recommend this place; the seating is very pleasant both inside and in the beer garden; the service is extremely attentive.

The food was very tasty, with a typical selection and portion sizes that matched the price. The restaurant's decor is older but clean. The staff was friendly. We sat outside in the garden. The street is a bit noisy, but it's pleasant to sit under the trees. Unfortunately, people are smoking outside, so we had to walk through it... I can't comment on the parking lot; we walked there.

Our pre-ordered table wasn't reserved, but we were seated anyway. Some of our orders never arrived, and the rest of the food took about 40 minutes to arrive. The dishes were presented with a great deal of carelessness. The gyro was very tough and sometimes undercooked. We've been here several times, but everything was much better once. We can't recommend the restaurant at this time. It's a real shame.

We had a business meeting at the Greek restaurant. It was completely packed on a weekday evening, but the wait for food was actually quite long. Unfortunately, there's limited parking in front of the restaurant, so you should plan on getting some time. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable for the current time of year ;) There was a welcome shot and also one with the bill – unfortunately, there was no non-alcoholic alternative. Perhaps that would be an idea for the future. The server was very friendly and always cracking jokes.

We ate here today to celebrate the occasion for the first time in a long time, and unfortunately it was definitely the last time. We (3 people) had booked a table for 7 p.m. When we arrived, we were immediately assigned a table. That was really all that went well about this evening's restaurant visit. We sat for a full 30 minutes before someone even came to take our order. During this time, guests at other tables (who arrived after us) were already being served. Then, finally, our orders were taken. We then waited another hour for our main courses, which included a children's meal! How can you make a 5-year-old child wait an hour for schnitzel and fries?!?! Our food arrived lukewarm at our table after ONE!!! hour. The food also tasted very poorly; it was hardly seasoned and everything came with some unrecognizable "sauce." There was no ouzo as a welcome drink for the adults or after the meal. It wasn't even possible because we ate so quickly and there was no one around to bring the bill, so we paid at the counter as we walked in. We were also the only table without a candle, and the salt and pepper shakers were empty. The interior has also become quite dated. It's a shame, compared to 10 years ago. Unfortunately, today was the last time I ate there.

A bit confusing when ordering drinks/food, as another waiter was always checking in on the tables and people who came after one were served earlier, Ordered the same dish twice within a very short space of time, once with cold rice and the next time it was warm and once with raw onions on it that weren't there the first time, how the meat was once perfectly "juicy/tender" and the last time was very well done/dry, unfortunately very changeable!!! Unfortunately, there are very few dishes with bifteki on the menu, but there are more lamb dishes on them.

A wonderful little chic restaurant. And actually once again a positive “Greek style” experience, as the dishes were really prepared to perfection and were not as dry as the soles of my shoes, as is unfortunately so often the case. I had the Meteora plate and from the presentation, to the smell and especially the taste, I can only find words of praise. My partner had the gyros plate and there too she could only find positive words. The only drawback, if you can even call it that, was that it got a little loud at times and conversation was therefore more difficult. But as I said, this can now be classed as “complaining at a high level”. The young man who mostly served us was extremely friendly and accommodating, which rounded off the experience. Conclusion: Happy again at any time and I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Picked up the food. It wasn't anything special, but value for money was quite good. Unfortunately, the parking lot is far too small and the gaps are so tight that I wouldn't park there.

You can find this very good Greek restaurant right on the main street in Meiningen. An extensive selection of different Greek dishes, gyros, bifteki, lamb, souvlaki etc. are offered here. There is an ouzo to greet and say goodbye, the food is fresh, hot and very tasty. There is plenty of seating in the beautiful indoor area. The service is friendly, competent and special requests are easily addressed. Prices are below average. Totally recommended.

Essen und Service sind top. Das Ambiente ist mittlerweile sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Tische und Stühle im Biergarten sind extrem unbequem. vorallem auf dem unebenen Boden wackelt alles. Ganz schlimm ist der Weg zum WC der Gang ist extrem rutschig und man denkt es wurde mit Frittenfett gewischt. Das WC der Damen ist überall kaputt ( Kabine,WC Deckel locker, Waschbecken überall abgeplatzt, Seifenspender defekt, Handtuchhalter existiert nur noch halb) Es ist wirklich Schade das der Eigentümer ofenbar nichts in den Laden investiert. Das Personal macht absolut das Beste draus und der Restaurantleiter ist einfach nur mega.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten mal im Delphi und wir waren leider sehr enttäuscht... wir hatten uns vordem auch einige Bewertungen im internet angeschaut und das meiste hat auch gestimmt... wir wurden nicht herzlich empfangen im Gegenteil von einem Deutschen Mitarbeiter, er meinte wir sollten doch erstmal rein kommen in einem angespannten Ton... der andere Kellner fragte uns nach etwas zu trinken, die Getränke waren leider nur Zimmer temperatur.... wie man es eigentlich nicht kennt... Außerdem hatten wir 2 Vorspeisen knoblauch Brot....wo der Käse viel zu viel war oben drauf... Außerdem hatte der Kellner nur 1 Vorspeise abgeräumt und danach nicht mal gefragt ob die geschmeckt hat.. meine hatte er stehen lassen... obwohl er gesehen hatte das ich fertig war , danach erfolgte sofort ein Salat und die Vorspeise von mir stande noch , weder ein guten Appetit noch sonstiges... der Hauptgang kam dann nach 15 min danach..wo wir unsere Getränke schon leer hatten und auch das Metaxa und das Gyros war leider Grotten schlecht, viele knorbel und Knochen drinnen...... von meinem Mann das essen war einigermaßen okay... Danach warten wir 15 Minuten und sind aufgestanden zum bezahlen weil ewig kein Kellner kam.! Ich hatte mich über alles beschwert und er antwortete patzig das das eben so ist.. also wer hier was schreibt von wegen super Restaurant , der war scheinbar noch nicht bei einem vernünftigen Griechen.! LG!!!

Immer wieder eine gute Anlaufstelle für reichhaltiges und gutes Essen. Preis / Leistung passt und man kommt gerne wieder.

Absolut der beste Grieche in der Stadt

Ein sehr frustrierendes Erlebnis. Die Unzufriedenheit war bei den meisten Freunden und mir groß. Das Bifteki schien aus industrieller Fertigung zu stammen. Es war statt mit Feta mit etwas anderem - vermutlich Mozzarella - gefüllt und schmeckte wirklich nicht gut. Die Salate waren extrem lieblos zusammengestellt, zu ca. 80% nur mit klein geschnittenem grünen Salat mit einfachstem Essig-Dressing. Auch der Service ließ zu wünschen übrig. Mineralwasser mußte man mehrfach bestellen, bis es kam.
