Schloss-Stuben in Meiningen

Although it was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was very busy, we were shown to our place in a very courteous and friendly manner. Shortly afterwards our drink order was taken and served super quickly. We chose dishes with Thuringian dumplings and they simply tasted delicious. Our waitress even apologized to us for not being able to visit us as much, but that wasn't necessary because the colleagues working there asked if everything was OK. The visit to the castle rooms was a successful conclusion to a visit to the theater in Meiningen.

The Schloss-Stube was well attended for a Tuesday evening, but we still got a table straight away. Unfortunately we had to wait a bit for service, but the very nice woman apologized in advance for the wait. The food was good, the vegetarian selection was a bit limited.

Here you have the best dumplings I have ever eaten in Thuringia.

Today we were there again on the occasion of an 80th birthday. The food was A1, also great service. =============================== Seats were reserved, staff were in a very good mood and enjoyed their job! Food was really great!

From the online reservation to the pleasant reception to the seating and of course the excellent food and the extremely friendly and attentive service, everything was great. This is how you imagine a good restaurant to be, we felt we were well served.

Very good regional cuisine, the dumplings are a poem. The service was friendly and accommodating. Interesting rooms in the rotunda of the residential palace. Beautiful outdoor seating area in the castle courtyard, where you can have a nice look at the facades.

Food wasn't good, pork cheeks were certainly not freshly prepared, the hats were also quite small, apparently the chef also has small hands. Given the high prices you could expect better quality. The penne arrabiata was also very dry. There is no criticism desired, as can be seen from other recessions. It's just a shame, people used to look forward to this restaurant.

Ambiance: Dinner in the castle. Service: friendly, courteous, appropriate questions, not intrusive and yet relaxed in your dealings. Food: Great! I had the Iberico meat and was amazed by the tender meat. The dish conjured up a diverse taste experience for me. My companion also enjoyed everything excellently. The price is more than reasonable. In addition, the service knows how to surprise: I rarely find that people know what an affogato is and prepare it as desired for dessert. Thank you!

We have been guests in the Schloss-Stuben for years. Before Corona, the highlight was a delicious and varied salad buffet, which unfortunately was abolished without replacement. The prices for food have increased, and hardly any main course is available for less than €20. If the salad buffet were available again, that would be acceptable. On our last visit it was yawningly empty, very unusual if you know the restaurant from before. This time we had the daily special: Hats, boiled beef and a small bowl of cucumber salad. The taste was good, although the horseradish sauce was very thin. The friendly service staff also asked how we liked it. Since the meat was cooked unexpectedly hard, an older family member took the liberty of raising the issue. I found the waiter's comment "Then you'll just have to chew more" borderline in this context. The dumplings were, as always, very tasty. You can sit comfortably both outside and in the dining room. However, due to the lack of a salad buffet and the poorer price-performance ratio, I can no longer fully recommend the Schloss-Stuben. Many thanks to Mr. Unjust for his response to my review.

The castle rooms in Elisabethenburg Castle in Meiningen impress with their historic cross vaults and modern furnishings with attention to detail. Wheelchair-accessible, the restaurant offers excellent service and fast service. The cuisine impresses with its craftsmanship, evident in creative dishes such as the Hutsburger and the rolled turkey with Huts. Portions are optimal and the taste is excellent. The price-performance ratio is reasonable. Highly recommended, I would love to come back.

We are guests in the Schloss Stuben several times a year. It's always wonderful. The reception, the food, everything was great. I hope that this is one of the restaurants in Meiningen that will remain. Keep it up!

Always a pleasure - and not just the food, which is prepared with skill and attention to detail. Every time we feel very comfortable, we receive courteous service and all-round care. Unfortunately, with two small children, this is not the case everywhere.

We had lunch in the Schloss-Stuben on May 17th, 2024 and June 2nd, 2024. There was venison goulash with dumplings and red cabbage.

The waiter Kenny deserves 10 stars. Simply everything is great. Ate zander fillet with asparagus. Venison goulash with dumplings. Pork neck steak. schnitzel with fries

Worth a culinary trip alone. The kitchen team received a standing ovation from our travel group, in which we were happy to include the friendly, humorous and professional waiter!

Service was very good even though they had a lot to do. Butterfish and asparagus were good, the fried potatoes were not big and tasted old and tasteless. I would definitely recommend the place

When we are in Meiningen we go to eat in the Schlossstuben. It is, in my opinion, the best local restaurant.

Excellent food. Polite, courteous staff. The table alone was in a very narrow niche, with hardly any space to enjoy the food. Hence the deduction. The place just doesn't fit in with the rest which is very good. Thank you, we had a nice evening.

Super nice staff - courteous, friendly and quick. The food is very tasty and prepared with regional ingredients. Prices are very high, but justified for the quality. But 7€ fries are over it. Main courses were better value for money.

The best huts (dumplings) in the world. The service really knows its craft and is not just a waitress. Respect that Esso still exists. Be sure to stop here if you are in Meiningen. This must be preserved.

Everything is right here. Food was really delicious (the sauce from the pickled lamb tasted like my grandma's...) and arrived quickly at the table, the waitresses were extremely friendly and capable, the ambience is nice... . I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Very nice, especially suitable for family celebrations. In between you can take a walk in the castle courtyard or castle park. Wonderful combination.

It was pleasant, the staff was great and friendly and somehow booked for us (18 men). Eating took some getting used to because there are dumplings that are not round and were rather fried. But in the combination with meat it was great again. The ambience...well we were separated...very narrow but comfortable. So we would come again.

Went there today for my mom's 60th birthday. Great food. Dumplings are super delicious. Service is quick and on point. Wir waren mit Kollegen dort. Ich hatte einen sehr ungewöhnlichen Burger. War mal was anderes. Service und Ambiente war gut.

Die Schlossstube ist der sauber und ordentlich. Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet und außergewöhnlich gut angerichtet. Der Küchenchef weiß wirklich, was er tut und hat sich viele Gedanken gemacht. Nach Gerichtsterminen ist das hier die Location für das Mittagessen. Selbst wenn man etwas über hat, wird die Mitnehmbox sehr ordentlich angerichtet.

Schade. wir kommen sehr gerne hierher um die herausragende Küche(Hütes!) zu genießen. Jetzt wollten wir Kaffee trinken und etwas Süßes essen (hervorragende Desserts!) und wurden nicht einmal eingelassen. "Ne wir haben hier mittagsgeschäft, wenn Sie Kaffee wollen können Sie zum Italiener nebenan" Um 11.15 Uhr.. zuvorkommend wäre gewesen, einen Platz an der Bar anzubieten oder einen kleinen Tisch mit Hinweis auf eine Uhrzeit wann der Tisch wieder frei werden muss. So aber war diese heutige Erfahrung mehr als enttäuschend und hinterlässt einen fahlen Beigeschmack.

Bardzo dobra restauracja położona w przepięknym pałacu Elisabethenburg. Można tu skosztować tradycyjnej lokalnej kuchni szczególnie z kluskami zwanymi tutaj „Meininger Hüt's”. Rolada z czerwoną kapustą i tymi kluskami wyśmienita, a jeszcze lepsza chyba jagnięcina. Bardzo miła i pomocna obsługa, mimo bariery językowej zostaliśmy obsłużeni rewelacyjnie.

Essen sehr lecker, sowohl das Hirschgulasch mit Hütes als auch der Hütes-Burger, tolle fruchtige Limonade mit Nudel-Trinkhalm , der Service freundlich kompetent und hilfsbereit ( zwei Decken als Kissenersatz) schönes Ambiente im Schlosshof und alles zu einem angenehmen guten Preis. Absolut empfehlenswert 😀😀👍

Waren schon mehrmals in den Schloss Stuben immer wieder SUPER Essen, Nettes Personal sowie sehr schönes Ambiente. Jederzeit wieder. Empfehlenswert.

Sehr gemütlich, mit Freiplätzen im Schlosshof. Service war sehr freundlich und trotz vollem Lokal ging es schnell. Uns hat es sehr geschmeckt, auch für Vegetarier geeignet.

Es war ein sehr schönes Abendessen mit Freunden dort. Das Fleisch war zart und die Klöße sehr sehr lecker. Das Rotkraut war ein Genuss. Erwähnenswert ist die selbstgemachte Limonade mit Rhababer&Minze und der freundliche Service

Zu Anfang schienen die Preise etwas hoch. Hier gab es aber ein sehr schmackhaftes Essen. Hollandaise selber gemacht, sehr locker. Zwei Schnitzel dazu in guter Qualität. Klösse und Gulasch sehr gut. Roulade wie hausgemacht. Das Steak mit Würzfleisch, da schmeckt man das alles selbstgemacht ist. Dazu noch Rhabarber- und Erdbeerlimonade.. Alle waren rundum zufrieden. Danke

Wir können leider die guten Bewertungen hier überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Krustenbraten scheinbar vom Vortag, Portion Schweinebäckchen sehr übersichtlich.

Der Besuch dieses Restaurants lohnt sich immer wieder: Bedienung nett, zuvorkommend und umsichtig. Das Essen ist immer gut.

Freundliches und nettes Restaurant. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Die Speisekarte ist vom Angebot zwar nicht so reichhaltig, aber dafür schmeckt es hervorragend. Allerdings fand ich die Preise etwas zu überzogen.

Kann mich nicht genug bedanken für die Freundlichkeit und das gute Essen. Wo ich als Musikerin kurzfristig in Meiningen bin für eine Vorstellung, macht ihr trotz viele Gäste noch Platz, wann andere Restaurants alles egal war. Danke!

Super leckeres deutsches aber auch ausgefallenes Essen, in einem schönen Ambiente und ich kann mich nicht erinnern, wann ich das letzte mal sooooo gut gelauntes, herzliches, witziges Servicepersonal hatte! 🥰 nur zu empfehlen!! Wer Meininger Hütes liebt (oder thüringer Klöße) sollte die mal hier probieren. Gute Küche, freundlicher Service und, wenn man Glück hat und einen der Tische in den Fensternieschen bekommt, sehr nettes Ambiente. Wir machen gelegentlich sogar einen größeren Umweg um hier ab und zu die Hütes zu genießen.

Recht laute Atmosphäre. Das Essen hat uns nicht geschmeckt, wenig gewürzt, die Klöße total verkocht (es sei denn, man macht das in Thüringen so? Ich kenne Klöße anders).
