Ate there for the first time and was totally disappointed.
Overpriced, too long waiting times to get the menu, food, etc.
When the food came, a salad was simply brought to one of several dishes that wasn't ordered.
Mushrooms were served instead of apples with the pork fillet and only once was there a request for new drinks.
The innkeeper prefers to talk to other guests rather than looking after larger groups.
Bad service never again
For just under €30 I chose the zander fillet with leek and triplet potatoes.
What I got was extremely manageable to say the least. Three pieces of fish were served lukewarm and not very appealing. So not recommended. The open wines, on the other hand, are affordable.
Unfortunately, the Malfatti are the only sensible vegetarian food (except Kässpätzle). But they are delicious. And Petra was again very friendly and attentive. Can be recommended.
The food was delicious and filling. Very durable, like at home with grandmothers back then. We shared a salad and then had the homemade beef roulade (called Fleischvogel in Switzerland) and the cream schnitzel with fries. Both were okay, a little more vegetables would be desirable, but the cream schnitzel had none at all.
The ambience is rather sober and austere. I can imagine that it is nicer outside in summer and has that forest hut feeling. Wrapping paper - especially on Valentine's Day - as a tablecloth: perhaps practical, but there is another way to look beautiful. There is no wine selection in this sense, there are simply a few available that are communicated verbally.
Service was very efficient and friendly, but - in keeping with the ambience - also very casual and brisk, bang! 😄 Reasonably priced, really very fair.
Are we coming back? Maybe in summer when the weather is nice...
We have been coming to the Löwen regularly for over 15 years now. The food is down-to-earth in Baden, honest cuisine, and what is served always tastes excellent. The kitchen is quick, and even with a very busy crowd you still have to wait a long time. The service staff are always friendly, regardless of whether they are young or older. The atmosphere in the vine-covered courtyard is almost Mediterranean, and the dining room is very cozy. It's nice that an inn like this still exists.
