Gaststätte Rittergarten in Tuttlingen

We were very satisfied; the food was really delicious, the homemade drinks were delicious, and the service was extremely friendly and attentive. There's a lovely outdoor area with a chestnut tree. Therefore, it deserves a 5*. Our only criticism, however, is that €1.50 per portion of ketchup/mayo is quite steep. We were asked if we wanted some (without any indication of the price), as several dishes came with fries, and then six portions were brought to our table. (In small jars with lids, nicely done). I think we ended up using three or four jars, but we were charged for all six, so €9 for a bit of ketchup and mayo. For a main course with fries costing €18 or more, the simple ketchup/mayo dip should be included with the meal, in my opinion. If necessary, 0.50 cents, but €1.50 is simply too much. Perhaps this could be reconsidered? 😉 That somewhat dampened our enthusiasm for the great service and the food. I think we'll come back anyway, since we were otherwise really satisfied and because I also like dry fries sometimes. 😂 Best, Lucas

Super delicious food with friendly and very attentive service from the owner. If we were from the area, we would definitely be regulars! Only the street noise is a bit disturbing when sitting in the beer garden.

Unfortunately, we can only give our visit one star. Due to the heat, we opted for a lighter meal and assembled a potato salad with crispy fish from finger food and a side dish/extra. Unfortunately, the whole thing wasn't served together on one plate, but in two mismatched bowls – rather unfortunate both visually and practically. The portion consisted of 10 small crispy fish pieces, with only a tiny dollop of tartar sauce, which simply wasn't enough for the amount. The taste wasn't great; the potato salad portion was rather small, the potatoes weren't fully cooked, and the seasoning wasn't adequate. The Coke I ordered wasn't properly chilled – which was especially disappointing given the temperatures. The waitress was nice, but unfortunately seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. On a positive note, we can highlight the beer garden, which offered a lovely setting. It was noticeable that we both ate exactly the same thing and didn't feel particularly comfortable afterward.

We went to a darts event at the restaurant's adjacent venue this weekend. I thought it was very well done, superbly organized, really top-notch. We'll definitely come back another weekend. I'll expand my reviews for the actual restaurant as well.

Four of us ate at the Rittergarten this evening and were absolutely thrilled. Despite the restaurant being completely full, the service was attentive, friendly, and quick, and simply superbly organized. The food was fantastic: no matter which dish we chose, each of us was 100% satisfied. Even well-known classics tasted like new discoveries, fresh, and perfectly prepared. We enjoyed it so much that we've already reserved another table for two days before we leave. A definite recommendation – hospitality and quality are top priority here!

07/29/25 Awesome I don't know when the last time I ate such delicious German cuisine. My wife was absolutely thrilled with her steak (she's not much of a steak eater, actually). +My Maultaschen were amazing +The Käsespätzle were amazing +And the pork loin steaks were amazing My child even flattened his entire schnitzel (he can't usually manage a whole one). The service was friendly and completely fine. The atmosphere was renovated and comfortable. I will DEFINITELY enjoy it there again

We were there with a large group in the beer garden. The service was excellent, always prompt, very friendly, and they actually managed to get all the dishes (a la carte) to arrive almost at the same time. Respect! Delicious home-style cooking. Highly recommended.

That same evening, I was at the Rittergarten with friends – we were sitting just a few tables away. The food was, as always, delicious, and the staff friendly and attentive (especially our waitress, a young woman with dark hair, was truly welcoming!). What particularly stuck in my mind, however, was that a customer suddenly screamed loudly across the room – so loudly that the entire room fell silent for a moment. I found it unpleasant for everyone, especially for the young and truly wonderful waitress, who it seemed to be aimed at. Despite this, the team remained calm, professional, and extremely friendly. I think mistakes can happen, on both sides. But tone makes the difference – and the Rittergarten team made a great effort despite the loud situation. I'd be happy to come back. ❤️

Simply great, really beautiful especially the beer garden

Dinner (onion roast beef with spaetzle) was simply delicious. The meat was very tender, the quality was excellent (Argentinian beef), and the onions were even homemade/fried, not just any from a packet—that makes a definite difference! The service was polite, prompt, uncomplicated, and very relaxed. We'd love to come back :-))))) Thank you, thank you!!!

Excellent food, impeccable service, with very friendly staff and a manager who accommodated every possible request. I have rarely met such uncomplicated hosts. You feel welcome and understood. Very nice restaurant with very friendly staff. We had sausage salad, cordon bleu, and two homemade lemonades. The quality of the food was very good, and it's very nice to sit outside. We'd be happy to come back.

We spent a wonderful evening at the Rittergarten. The roast pork from the oven was very tender and delicious. The service was super friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be back. A shout-out to the lovely manager from the three ladies with the sweet Weissherbst wine 🙂

We come here regularly for dinner. Very modern ambiance, great outdoor area, and a lovely beer garden. A lovely place to stop and linger. No matter what I've eaten, it's always been delicious and of good quality. It's perfectly fine for the price. It's great that this wonderful place can finally flourish again. Sausage salad carelessly prepared with ready-made dressing! The portion was good, but at just under €14, the price was reasonable! The hostess was very friendly and nice! The food was very disappointing, unfortunately.

Today at the murder mystery dinner – a fantastic evening. Excellent food with exciting crime stories. Ramona and Raphael were super-friendly hosts. We felt very comfortable and were thoroughly entertained. It deserves a repeat.

We were in a large group. It was essentially a service that served everyone perfectly with exceptional friendliness and speed. I haven't experienced anything like this in Germany for a long time. I was thrilled!!!

Nice beer garden. Service is friendly and attentive. The food was good and fresh. The steak was cooked to perfection. The salad in a jar is beautiful to look at but inconvenient to eat.

We went for lunch with the family on Easter Monday. As always, a very friendly, warm welcome. Our very friendly waitress was on the ball and always had a kind word for us. The food completely met our expectations. Regardless of whether it was Kässpätzle, Schwabentöpfle, Cordon Bleu, Schnitzel or chicken burger, everything was very tasty and the portions were generous. We can only recommend the Rittergarten under the Braun family. We'd love to come back!

First of all: Super friendly and competent service. The homemade lemonades and iced teas are super delicious. The food tastes very good and the portions are more than sufficient. The prices are absolutely reasonable.

It's great what the new operators have done with the Rittergarten. Everything fits perfectly. Ramona is the always friendly soul in the service and the cook and her team also know their craft. This means she can conjure up an unexpected flavor explosion even from a normal side salad. I had very tasty cheese spaetzle and was completely thrilled. The prices are on the higher end, but absolutely justified. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd be happy to come back. By the way, it is definitely advisable to reserve in advance.

Geschmacklich absolut in Ordnung, allerdings sind die Preise – besonders für die Getränke – recht hoch, und die Portionen könnten größer sein. Der Service war okay, auch wenn die Verabschiedung etwas herzlicher hätte sein können. Wer bereit ist, etwas mehr auszugeben, kann hier dennoch einen guten Abend verbringen

A solid restaurant with a friendly welcome and good food. The taste is absolutely okay, but the prices - especially for the drinks - are quite high, and the portions could be larger. The service was okay, even if the farewell could have been a little warmer. If you're willing to spend a little more, you can still have a good evening here.

With Ramona and Raphael, two extremely committed hosts have come to the Rittergarten in Tuttlingen, great location, delicious food, I think the burger is GREAT and I'm looking forward to the activities that the two of them are planning around the Rittergarten.

So, the restaurant itself is not very inviting in terms of furnishings, everything is cold, dark brown, almost black. No decoration not to make you feel comfortable. The food was really bad, tough meat, warmed up sauce is definitely not recommended. The service... So-so, had to call four times to pay. Once there... Never again. This rating applies to the new tenant from November 1st, 2024 mentioned in passing. If I could give zero stars... Anytime!!! The innkeeper who calls himself a chef should have remained a carpenter.

I was in the Rittergarten on the evening of December 23rd and have rarely been treated so condescendingly. The person behind the bar (female, brown hair) couldn't have been more unfriendly. We ordered two waters at the bar and after paying we politely asked about the price as it differed from the price previously paid for two waters. The woman behind the bar reacted aggressively, slammed the money for the drinks on the counter, pushed the cups towards us and told us that we were no longer allowed to come here. She then passed this on to her colleague. We no longer understood the world and this absolutely ruined the mood for us that evening.

Freundlicher Empfang, sehr gutes Essen, gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. „Die Brauns habens drauf“. Weiter so, wir kommen gerne wieder.

The new hosts are really committed to making you feel comfortable, have interesting ideas about how the dishes and salad bowls are presented and are very friendly. The food is good and plentiful, traditional and reasonably priced.

Under the new tenants, the Braun couple, the knight's garden blossomed in unusual splendor. The cuisine is home-style in the best sense of the word, masterfully prepared from fresh ingredients. The onion roast is a poem... The service stands out with its cheerful friendliness, even when the dining room is full, and the time until the food comes to the table is surprisingly manageable. But actually it's all over when you're greeted by Martha, the secret boss, when you enter. Dear Braun family, you have woken up the Rittergarten in an amazing way. Continued success! 👍😊

Ein neuer Pächter hat den Rittergarten übernommen. Nach einem sehr guten Rose Glühwein draußen wurden wir freundlich willkommen geheißen und an unseren Tisch geführt. Unser Essen : ein vegetarischer Green Power Burger. Der beste Veggi Burger, den ich seit langem gegessen habe. Im knusprigen Dunkel Kürbis Ban. Das fruit Relish hat dem Burger den richtigen Kick gegeben. Der zwiebelrostbraten vom Rumpsteak war zart und perfekt gebraten. Die Besitzerin war sehr freundlich und stets gut gelaunt.

Very friendly and always in a good mood young landlady. The Green Power Burger was one of the best veggie burgers I have ever eaten. With crispy dark pumpkin pie and delicious fruit relish that gives the burger a special kick. The onion roast was tender and cooked to perfection. Gladly again

We (1 adult, 2 children) were in the Rittergarten for the first time since the tenants changed. Everything has changed for the better - both the food and the service were excellent, the premises have been tastefully redecorated. Please ignore all reviews before November 1st, 2024!

Very good atmosphere. Top quality. And great service. Addendum: New tenant since November 2024. The new tenants are there with smiles and hearts. The usual quality has been increased again and the ambience has become significantly more modern.

Went there again to eat after the reopening in November 24th. The food was very tasty and the prices were completely reasonable for the quality offered. A small point of criticism: If you want a different side dish with your meal than what is on the menu, you pay €2 more. In our opinion, it doesn't have to be that way. Otherwise, keep it up!!

We were there for the first time under the new tenants. Luckily we had reservations. It was pretty busy. And we were immediately told by the service that the homemade potato salad was out. The food was also good with fries or spaetzle. The meat is tender. The mushrooms are fresh, not canned. The furniture is from the previous one, but you can't take over almost seamlessly and turn everything upside down.

We were passing through and found this great restaurant. We were in the mood for Swabian classics, which we got. I had the Schwabenschmaus and my husband had schnitzel with cheese spaetzle. The schnitzel is great, the delicious creamy cheese spaetzle is a real hit, the small salad is cool and originally prepared, the lounge invites you to linger. The service was absolutely nice, attentive and totally uncomplicated when it came to reordering. Dear Rittergarten team, keep it up, everything is fine. Gladly again…….! See you soon.

Were there today. Unfortunately no replacement for the old operator. Not to be missed in terms of taste.

We wanted to end our birthday here and enjoy good traditional cuisine. But that was all. Service staff: To meet such unfriendly staff, no smiles on their faces. We were put in the last corner. There would have been enough space in the guest room. We had to wait a while to place the order. When we made extra requests like we wanted croquettes instead of fries, we only got dirty looks. As inviting as the restaurant may look from the outside, Unfortunately, the customer is not king here. There wasn't much going on now, The staff didn't even come by during the meal to ask if everything was OK. Or something else to submit later. After the meal we cleared away. You have to act quickly and order something to drink. After that, no more staff came to ask if you wanted anything else. Not even the question of a coffee or dessert. Treating customers so badly. Either more staff or new ones are needed.

I ate a mushroom cream schnitzel with spaetzle, which tasted very good, but we often had to wait for our drinks because the service wasn't that attentive. However, there was a lot going on in the restaurant and it would have been better if there had been a second waitress, especially since there was a birthday party taking place. Conclusion: Good food, service needs improvement.

Delicious restaurant, not quite in town. Here you get a large selection of food and drinks and the service is friendly. The only thing that marred our visit was that only EC cards were accepted.

Das Fleisch war etwas zu durch, aber dennoch zart. Die Soßen waren richtig lecker. Die Beilagen wir Kroketten oder Spätzle waren offensichtlich TK-Ware, aber welches Lokal schabt auch morgens noch seine Spätzle - aber 5* kann es damit halt nicht geben. Personal war äußerst freundlich - ich werde bei Gelegenheit definitiv wieder hingehen!

Wir waren Mitte August hier zu Gast. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt und auch normale Preise. Die Sauce vom Zigeunerschnitzel war frisch und selbstgemacht und der Salat mit Schnitzelstreifen war auch frisch und knusprig Die ältere Kellnerin hatte gar keine Lust zu bedienen und hat dieses auch gezeigt. Deshalb hat uns der italienische Kellner bedient, da er gemerkt hat, dass wir enttäuscht und genervt waren. Danke Massimo 🙂👍 Nach dem Essen hat er uns noch vom Sommerfest am Bodensee erzählt, das an diesem Abend stattfand und hatte sich erlaubt 5 Minuten zu uns zu setzen ( wir waren die einzigen Gäste ) und wurde sofort vom grimmigen Chef ermahnt er solle die Rechnung bringen, damit sie schliessen und nach Hause gehen können. Aber: laut Internet bis 23.00 geöffnet und wir wurden schon um 21.30 vom Chef persönlich "gebeten zu gehen". Es wäre so einfach gewesen freundlich zu sein und Geld zu verdienen, indem man uns noch eine Runde hätte trinken lassen. Vom Essen und wegen Massimo her gerne wieder. 👍👍👍 Chef und Kellnerin nein Danke 👎👎👎

Schnelle Bedienung, leckeres Essen und die Panade vom Schnitzel mit Paprikastücken sehr lecker. Gehe des öfteren hin und bin immer wieder begeistert über das Essen. 😋

Sind leider enttäuscht worden. Die Grundstimmung in diesem Restaurant war nicht zum wohlfühlen. Die Bedienung sehr kühl und distanziert. Hatte offensichtlich parallel eine Auseinandersetzung mit Gästen an einem anderen Tisch. Höchst Unprofessionell, seine schlechte Laune so an den Gästen rauszulassen, man bezahlt schließlich dafür, hier einen schönen Abend zu verbringen und freundlich bedient zu werden, aber als Servicekraft sich nicht mal zu einem Lächeln auf den Lippen durchringen zu können ist sehr schwach. Zum Essen: Die Champignon-Rahmlendchen (22,80€!) bestanden aus drei kleinen (weder besonders zarten, noch sonst irgendwie besonderen) Stücken Fleisch, serviert mit Pilzen aus der Dose. Dazu Gabs eine Handvoll Kroketten. Satt wurde man von dieser Portion, trotz dem dazugehörigen traurigen vorspeisensalat, nicht wirklich. Der Lady-Wurstsalat wurde nicht serviert wie auf der Karte angepriesen. Oliven waren keine drauf, das Baguette wurde nach dem darum bitten nachgereicht. (Es war auch kein Baguette, sondern ein normales Brot). Ein kurzes „Entschuldigung“ war natürlich Zuviel verlangt, der Brotkorb wurde wortlos auf den Tisch gestellt (als wäre es mein Verschulden, auf die fehlende Beilage aufmerksam gemacht zu haben!) Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt hier also auch nicht. Wir werden nicht wieder kommen!

Das Essen ist gut bürgerlich und in Ordnung, preislich eher in der mittleren Preisstufe. Service war zwar ausreichend und es kam alles wie gewünscht und schnell. Dennoch: Die Person war leider sehr unfreundlich und pampig Das Ambiete ist an sich total schön, das Gebäude ist von außen toll und auch innen eigentlich gut. Aber: Kunstpflanzen sollten definitiv rausgeworfen werden und ein wenig modernere Deko könnte nicht schaden :)
