Gasthaus zur Rose in Bad Mergentheim

We went there again for lunch today. The soup was very hearty (rather oversalted). The fries were also well seasoned, and the Jägerschnitzel had too much pepper. I'm not used to that. So far, we've always gone home very satisfied. We won't be coming back anytime soon.

Very delicious food, regional venison with fresh porcini mushrooms and regional wines, highly recommended. Country inn, unfortunately very darkly decorated, 70s charm. Very friendly staff. Would gladly return.😍

This review is for the hotel only. Large parking lot between the street and the guesthouse. Entrance to the hotel is in the courtyard behind the guesthouse. Simple, clean room with a bathroom, shower, and toilet. Adequate breakfast (prepared plate, not a buffet). Okay for a business overnight stay.

The food at the country inn is fantastic. In keeping with the season, they offer porcini mushrooms and local game. My recommendation: medallions of venison!

We only visited Esden at the end of our trip! The food was plentiful and well-seasoned, and the price was reasonable. The people were very nice and friendly!

I only stayed overnight without breakfast. A lovely rustic inn, with a lot of grandma's flair; I like the simplicity and straightforwardness.

The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean. Small, cozy beer garden. We felt completely at home.

The inn is still of the "old school." It's showing its age, but the rooms are clean and perfectly adequate for us. This was the last overnight stay of our bike tour. And it was excellent for e-bikers. A large garage with an electrical connection, eliminating the hassle of removing the battery. Unfortunately, there was no soap or shower gel in the room, as is now common in every hotel. The food in the restaurant was very good but very expensive. A bit incomprehensible to us. Unfortunately, there's no direct access from the rooms to the guest room/reception. It shouldn't rain, then. But there aren't many options in this small town. The owners and service staff are really nice, though. And the breakfast was once again served in the traditional way, not a buffet. We also really liked it.

We wanted to go to your place for lunch on Friday, it looked like it was closed, then we went back and saw people at the table through the window. There was a sign on the outside window saying they wouldn't open again until 5 p.m., so we left again and believe us, we won't be coming back. As a host you should also pay attention to what is hanging in the window and what is being read by the guest.

We ate chicken there, really crispy and delicious, juicy meat. The fries were also crispy and the salad was also good. The Flädlesuppe beforehand was also very tasty. I would only like to express some criticism about the dessert; in my opinion, the sour cherries with vanilla ice cream were average at best. The service was very friendly, accommodating and chatty. Overall, this is 5 stars for me and a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to dine in a cozy location at a reasonable price.

Home-style cooking, portions were plentiful. Kinderschnitzel was great with lots of fries on the side. Wild ragout was also very good and special requests were happily accommodated. We would be happy to come back 😊 We were only there to eat.

He shouted angrily, 'he's leaving the restaurant soon'. If he had done that, everything would be fine... Thanks to the lovely service staff, who can only make you feel sorry. Poor value for money

I don't write reviews that often, but it would be an injustice here if I didn't write anything. I can only write about the accommodation that it is clean. I left in the morning and arrived in the evening. Assembly. I was on the 13th. A little small but I didn't mind. Cozy. But what I want to highlight is the staff (family) is very friendly, and the kitchen? Excellent venison*****, and rumstak the same. Kitchen with heart. Thanks Jarda "CZ"

I was at the Rose for dinner on New Year's Eve 2023. The food and service were impeccable. I will recommend the restaurant and visit it again.

Nice to sit, eat and drink if the service would allow it! As a paying guest you almost feel unwanted when you are pressured to order your food after two minutes in the restaurant, which is a shame..... Price-performance leaves a lot to be desired now, I had an onion roast that was served solo, only after my partner asked was the side dish and finally the salad served. As already mentioned, the service (friendliness of the staff) leaves a lot to be desired - the handling is sometimes very rough and that certainly has nothing to do with the so-called pre-Christmas stress.

Leckere regionale Speisen und Getränke zu normalen Preisen. Service ist aufmerksam und flott unterwegs. Hatten keine Übernachtung! Verbrachten einen schönen Abend (wg. Geburtstagsfeier) in schönem, urigen Ambiente der Gaststätte. Ausreichend Parkplätze und gute Lage neben der B19. Immer wieder gerne...

Gasthaus mit kleinen gemütlichen Biergarten. Sehr leckers Essen, sehr empfehlenswert sind die Brathähnchen. Sehr freundliches Personal.
