Very friendly hosts. Witty and humorous. The owner was apparently on vacation, and her two sons were running the place. Charming dining room. We even got two seats without a reservation. Delicious regional food. The only downside was the steep staircase with the railing obstructed, which was a challenge for my companion. Perhaps it would be helpful to make the railing accessible on at least one side of the stairs?

A lovely, authentic restaurant that makes you feel at home. The staff were very friendly, humorous, and personable. The selection isn't huge, but I think there's something for everyone. We found our food incredibly delicious; only the fried potatoes in the cordon bleu could have been cooked a bit longer. This is my personal opinion and experience with a group visit to this restaurant. We were there as a registered group, and the food was ordered in advance. I have no complaints about the food itself – it was delicious and filling. However, there were several organizational issues that marred the overall impression: 1. Problems with pre-ordering: Some people in our group were unable to attend at short notice due to illness. When the owner noticed this, he asked which dishes would be omitted – which he was informed of. A short time later, another person (presumably the manager or cook) asked the same question. In the end, everyone had their food – except me. My dish apparently got lost in the confusion. 2. Reservation chaos: Guests at the neighboring table were suddenly asked to leave their seats because their reservation had been overlooked or canceled. Shortly afterward, our group was also asked to rearrange the table, as the space was apparently needed for someone else. Although we had three tables, one of which was only occupied by one person, the situation seemed very disorganized. 3. Manners and Service: The head waiter made several jokes throughout the evening, some of which seemed inappropriate or incomprehensible. Humor is a matter of taste – but when the service isn't running smoothly, it's more distracting than entertaining. Overall, the experience was unfortunately not as positive as I would have hoped. Due to the organizational weaknesses and the way the situation was handled, I probably won't visit the restaurant again.

Wir sind sehr freundlich empfangen worden, trotz Hochbetrieb! Das etwas längere warten aufs Essen hat sich gelohnt! Hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis in toller Atmosphäre. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Leider sind wir nur auf der Durchreise gewesen, sonst hätten wir jetzt eine neue Stammkneipe Wenn wir wieder in der Nähe sind, kehren wir wieder ein. Versprochen!

The boss takes some getting used to - almost a bit rude... Spaetzle and fried potatoes are offered, nothing more... If you change the supplement there is a 2€ surcharge - I personally find it "outrageous" In terms of taste, it was recommended, but I personally won't go there a second time!

A rustic atmosphere in the best sense of the word. The food (Cordon Bleu) tasted great, the portion size was absolutely sufficient. Priced in the normal range. Only the service left something to be desired in terms of friendliness and flexibility. But would definitely go here again.

We were in the old office with a group of eight people and had luckily reserved seats in advance. The menu has plenty to choose from and there was something for everyone. Everyone ordered something different, sometimes with a change in the side dishes, and everything worked out perfectly. The service was very friendly, and the food that was served to us was also extremely tasty. I had a roast beef with spaetzle which was really excellent. The price-performance ratio was also good. In the end everyone was happy and satisfied.

Unfortunately, I have to revise my old 'very good' rating, because we were now back in the 'Old Office', and definitely for the last time. The food and the ambience are still just as good, but the service is subpar. We were served by a very pushy gentleman who probably took the word 'service' a bit too seriously. The man is completely over the top, laughs most at his own jokes and literally besieges you with his intrusive, exuberant charm. You don't get a minute's peace from the guy. Everything is commented on and the same stupid jokes are constantly replayed like an endless loop. The man drives you so crazy with his stupid talk that in the end you no longer know which way is right or left. It's almost excessive what this guy is doing. I find this damaging to reputation and business. We drove there from Würzburg specifically to meet up with friends. But we definitely won't go there again!

Delicious, rustic, funny, original and hearty. Highly recommended. But reserve in good time. That's the only downside to the offer: When it's full, it can get quite loud in places.

Today I wanted to have dinner here with my daughter after an evening city tour because of the positive reviews. We were standing in front of the restaurant at 8:28 p.m. About 5 people came out and were greeted in a friendly manner at the door by the innkeeper or service staff. When we asked for a table, we were turned away outside - with the statement: "The kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m. We are a restaurant. It still needs to be cleaned." No nice word, no "we could only offer xy.... We were checked in at the stairs. According to its own website, the restaurant is open until 10:30 p.m. I can only speculate as to why we weren't let in...

We were there as a group, and because some people didn't have time (sick, no childcare) and we were fewer than planned, we were first reprimanded by a busboy and then by the boss that that wasn't possible. Inappropriate. My food was ok, nothing special. The worst thing for me as an allergy sufferer was the cat, which feels free in the dining room and, based on its hair, also on the tables. This is an absolute no-go!

One of those inns that are still really fun and are simply part of our country's cultural heritage 🥰. Our reservation was lost due to internet problems, but the boss somehow made it possible for us to get a table that evening. This is genuine interest in the guest and a commitment that is unfortunately no longer a given. The restaurant is very cozy and the service is always humorous and in a good mood - even when the shop is buzzing 👍🏻 Our dishes - the Maultaschen and the schnitzel in the pepper cream sauce - are excellently handcrafted, freshly prepared and with real Franconian “local color”. Gorgeous 😋! Tasty, hearty and at a very fair price. All of this encouraged us to have a final apple strudel, which was also tasty and delicious. Freshly tapped, delicious beers from the region - overall a gastronomic excursion of the kind that is worth remembering and highly recommended. We felt very comfortable and welcome as guests 🫶! It's a shame that there are 300 km between us, otherwise the "Old Chancellery" would have become a local bar... Thanks for the great evening 🙏🏻! And please “keep it up”!!

Durch Zufall entdeckt bei einem Stadtrundgang. Mit dem freundlichen Kellner/Chef ins Gespräch gekommen und auf seine Empfehlung das Schnitzel mit frischen Pfifferlingen und Spätzle gegessen. War genau das Richtige für mich. Sehr lecker, genau die perfekte Größe.

A really nice restaurant in a lovely atmosphere, run by a family business. Very friendly hosts who practice hospitality and have friendly exchanges with their guests. The food is excellent and the price/performance ratio is good. Unfortunately the menu is not particularly inviting and should be designed with more care. You can expand the range of delicious desserts and also mention them on the menu.

Excellent German cuisine restaurant at moderate prices. Welcoming environment and great friendliness of the owner. We were very satisfied and would recommend it without hesitation.

Geweldig gegeten in een hele leuke ambiance. Een echt familie restaurant waar de moeder van 3 zonen die ook in het restaurant werken, in de keuken staat. De salade vooraf was typisch Duits, met veel verschillende groenten en met een heel lekkere dressing, naar geheim familierecept volgens één van de zonen. De bereiding was verfijnd. Daarna werden we verwend met verse, huisgemaakte "bandnudeln mit pfifferlinge", ofwel pasta met cantharellen. Heerlijk! Wijn, water, koffie maakten de maaltijd compleet voor een zeer vriendelijke prijs. We waren hier op een zaterdagavond, waarna het restaurant zondag en maandag gesloten zou zijn. Om die reden waren sommige gerechten niet meer beschikbaar, maar dit "gemis" werd ruimschoots gecompenseerd door de kwaliteit van wat er wel was. De sfeervolle, rustige omgeving maakte de avond compleet.

it's a nice restaurant. Unfortunately, the outside seating is surrounded by not so nice buildings. The landlord seems a bit over-motivated, but is actually a likeable person. The food was excellent. Had gordon bleu, and that was homemade, really tasty. also the salad with it.

The food was TOP, it was freshly prepared and of the best quality. Of course it took a little longer, but we were immediately told that the boss was alone and he was the kitchen. The prices are hefty, but the quality is of the finest quality. Thank you for the delicious food.

Very nice atmosphere, nice hosts. Unfortunately the food took over an hour to be served. We also had to wait half an hour before we could order drinks. Otherwise, this restaurant is recommended, just don't arrive too hungry. It's best to reserve seats!

One of the “Best Places” in Bad Mergentheim to go out to eat. Very tasty, fresh and tastefully prepared. A family business with learned skills with generational status! The only thing is that the portions are too small for an adult man (not a pensioner) who is hungry. If an onion roast costs over 28 euros and there is no small side salad, you have to order it separately for 5.50 euros. Still always crowded, no chance of getting a seat without a reservation!

Urgemütliches Lokal in der ehem. Kanzlei. Fachwerkstreben, Holztische, schöne Deko. Sehr gute frisch zubereitete Speisen, auch "kleine" Portionen erhältlich. Der Zwiebelrostbraten ist ein Gedicht! Sehr freundliches Personal, der Junior-Chef hat immer einen lockeren Spruch drauf. Regionale Weine, gute Auswahl. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Wir kommen gerne wieder, wenn wir in Bad Mergentheim sind. Abends unbedingt reservieren. Das Lokal liegt etwas "versteckt" in einer Seitengasse.

Definitely worth a visit. I would even write an “insider tip” about it. Everything is rustic, cozy, totally tailored to the guest's wishes. Everything served as desired and nicely decorated. Very good quality and plenty of selection. Here we cook with a lot of love. Children and dogs are welcome here. You have to climb a few steps at the entrance. The journey is worth it.

Food was very good. Waiting time just for the card is too long. After choosing the drinks and food, you have to wait a long time until the drinks arrive. And the message that the selected food was unfortunately no longer available. So take another look at the map.

I had booked for our class reunion for 15 people. When booking, I asked if I should go through the likely number of guests again a day in advance. This was denied. Unfortunately, several people were unable to attend, reasons of secondary importance. We were first clearly reprimanded by the waiter, then a short time later by the boss. It would be absurd... However, the places were then allocated elsewhere and we all ate and drank well. My salad (with goat cheese) was very tasty, but quite expensive at €16.50. I would have expected more. The boss later apologized, which was fair. Still, I probably wouldn't go here again. The reason was the cat who suddenly appeared on all the furniture. The waiter was too pushy for me (constantly wanted to talk to us) and I found the food too expensive in terms of price/performance.

Were in this quaint restaurant for the first time. Small but nice and very rustically furnished! The service is absolutely top... The menu is home-style, very tasty and everything is always freshly prepared. The first visit was so good that we repeated it. Reservation is required...

Quaint inn, as it should be Unfortunately a typical example of why pubs are dying out. The service or the operator was a disaster. After 30 minutes we placed our first drink order. It took over 60 minutes for the starter and another 60 for the main course. So in total it took over 2 hours for the main course. Since the portions were manageable, we ordered a dessert, which of course took 35 minutes. This was delayed because an attempt at preparation went wrong, which the operator told us with a grin. The operator's behavior was simply baseless and amateurish. Even when paying we were asked to pay in cash as there are tax advantages here. Classic job misconduct across the board.

Es war ein "Abschiedessen" mit unserer Tochter, die am nächsten Tag für 4 Wochen in einer Klinik aufgenommen wurde. Den Tisch für 3 Personen hatten wir per eMail reserviert und wurden so richtig herzlich wie jahrelange Stammgäste empfangen. Wie haben wir die richtig GUTbürgerliche Küche genossen !!! Wunderbar !!! (Cordon Bleu, gebratene Maultaschen mit FRISCHEN Champignons ...) Da meine Frau und ich noch einen weiteren Tag in MGH geblieben sind, sind wir am folgenden Abend wieder bei Frau Gollnau & Team eingekehrt. Also, sehr epfehlenswert, gerne wieder - in Kürze

Gemütlich, eben im Kanzleicharakter eingerichtet. Übersehbare Anzahl an Plätzen. Reservierung ist angeraten. Personal freundlich und Karte bietet einiges. Alles ist geschmacklich gut gekocht und es gibt reichlich Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken.

Uriges Restaurant, gemütlich ob zu zweit oder mit einer Gruppe. Unaufdringlicher Service und keine abgehobenen Preise, dafür aber auch lokale Spezialitäten und die Maultaschen muss man unbedingt probieren. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Rinderherum sehr zufrieden. OK OK ich habe einen Tisch bekommen, zur Wand geschaut und musste dafür eine stolper Stufe nehmen. Dennoch echt schön. Stufen im Lokal nerven mich aber. Toller Service. Gutes Preis Leistung Verhältnis. Essen sehr lecker

Waren heute zum ersten mal dort. Über die positiven Google Bewertungen drauf aufmerksam geworden. Und es war wirklich nicht zu viel gelobt. Was für ein toller Laden. Die urige und rustikale Atmosphäre. Sehr freundliches und bemühtes Personal. Und der Wirt ist absolut eine Marke für sich. Total positiv gemeint. Das Essen war ein Gaumenschmaus. Hatten Schweinelendchen mit Rahmsoße und Spätzle. Die alte Kanzlei sehr zu empfehlen.

Waren gestern am 21.9.23 das erste mal da. Was soll ich dazu sagen? Allein schon der besondere Charme vom Gastwirt hat uns sehr positiv umgehauen. Nachdem uns unter anderem der bayrische Cappuccino ( Weizenbier ) serviert wurde und wir nach der Essensbestellung auch gleich gehört haben wie die Schnitzel in der Küche geklopft werden. Wussten wir, hier wird alles frisch zubereitet. Wir hatten verschiedene Schnitzelvariationen bestellt und es hat unglaublich lecker geschmeckt. Die Bratkartoffeln waren genauso gut. Wir kommen definitiv wieder 🫶

Essen war schmackhaft und reichlich. Einziges Manko war relativ lange Wartezeit. Trotzdem gerne wieder.

Waren nach einer langen langen Dienstreise hier und haben sehr lecker gegessen und bequem gesessen. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und die Bedienung freundlich. Die Karte ist zwar etwas klein aber alles scheint selbst gemacht zu sein und mit Liebe zubereitet. Von Vorspeisen Salat bis hin zum Dessert.

Urige Wirtschaft mit deutscher Küche

Super nette Menschen die dort arbeiten. Immer einen lustigen Spruch auf Lager und geben einem das Gefühl, dass man dazu gehört. Essen dort war auch einwandfrei und sehr lecker angerichtet. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder! Danke für die nette Zeit bei euch 🙏🏼

Wir haben hier heute Abend gegessen - mein Mann hatte das Wienerschnitzel und ich das vegane Gericht: Rosmarinkartoffel mit frischem Marktgemüse in Kokosmilchsoße. Es war wirklich super lecker, frisch gekocht und richtig warm. Die Familie die das Wirtshaus betreibt ist super nett und man sitzt urig gemütlich. Wir haben 25 Minuten aufs Essen gewartet - völlig normal bei frischem Essen. Schaut vorher nochmal im Internet auf die Speisekarte und reserviert am besten vorher da sehr gut besucht. Schön, dass auch Wirtshäuser vegane leckere Gerichte anbieten :) Also wer hier in der Gegend ist, auf jedenfall vorbeikommen.
