Good old German cuisine. I can only recommend the schnitzels.

If I can recommend a restaurant in Mannheim, then it is definitely the Restaurant Zur Waldpforte! We've been going there for years and the food is always excellent and the quality is consistently high. I can particularly recommend the rump steak, which is always cooked exactly to the desired cooking point and is very tender, as well as the cordon bleu, a real culinary delight! I have also tried many other dishes from the menu and so far none have disappointed me. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, from the cook to the innkeeper to the waitresses. Friends and we have also hosted family celebrations there and have never been disappointed. In summer, the cozy beer garden also invites you to linger. Note: The plates themselves are very large, which can easily give the impression in the photos that the portions are small, but that is by no means the case :-) For the excellent food, the great team and the welcoming location, I have no hesitation in giving it 5 out of 5 points!

Beautiful, rustic restaurant with a great beer garden. We were there for the first time on May 7, 2025. The menu was extensive and varied. We had a hunter's schnitzel and a Bavarian-style schnitzel with mustard and horseradish sauce. It was superbly breaded and delicious. A large portion. A side salad with a good dressing. Friendly service. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

Never again !! Staff very rude and just cheeky and snappy from the start. Not capable of criticism and, above all, we were bullied... that's not possible

Fried fish and potato salad were good, especially the price/performance ratio was right. It was really okay for a snack. Everything that was visible from the kitchen was clean.
