A cozy restaurant in a courtyard surrounded by half-timbered houses. The food is good, but it's not exactly cheap. However, the portions are reasonable. The staff is friendly, and you can accommodate special requests. The seating is very comfortable, with finally some good cushions.

A gem in Alt-Seckenheim with a beautiful setting and a cozy beer garden. Within walking distance to public transport and the Neckar River. The cuisine is regional and seasonal. In winter, mulled wine is served in the beer garden. The value for money is good, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. What more could you want?

We visited Weingärtner as a party of four yesterday. Due to heavy rain, we sat inside, where the atmosphere was very rustic, straightforward, and quite typical. There wasn't anything particularly special or standout about the décor. The service was friendly and helpful throughout, and we appreciated that we didn't have to wait long for anything. The food itself was decent but very average in taste. We ordered the asparagus menu with schnitzel—portions were definitely generous, which was a plus. It feels like Weingärtner might be better suited for casual visits, perhaps for grabbing a beer and a small appetizer rather than a full meal experience. I imagine the beer garden would offer a more charming and enjoyable ambiance in better weather. Overall, an okay place for an informal outing.

Beautiful, rustic restaurant with a great beer garden. We were there for the first time on May 7, 2025. The menu was extensive and varied. We had a hunter's schnitzel and a Bavarian-style schnitzel with mustard and horseradish sauce. It was superbly breaded and delicious. A large portion. A side salad with a good dressing. Friendly service. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

I can't recommend it more, waited over 2 hours for the food

Wir wollten nach langer Zeit das Restaurant mal wieder ausprobieren, da der Besitzer seit längerem gewechselt hatte. Wir waren mit Freunden verabredet und bestellten unterschiedliche Gerichte. Es gab Spargel mit Kräuterpfannkuchen, Flammkuchen , Rindfleischsalat mit Bratkartoffel und Schnitzel mit Meerrettich. Das Essen kam nach ungefähr 15 Minuten, der Teller war total vollgeladen, Rindfleischsalat war nicht gewürzt, ebenfalls die Bratkartoffel, die auch total matschig waren . Ebenso war die Meerrettich Soße aus der Packung und unser Eindruck , dass einige Zutaten Konviniensprodukte waren. Der Biergarten und und Restaurant sind sehr gemütlich, aber das Esser leider kein Vergleich zum vorherigen Pächter.

A bit cramped but everything perfect

A very nice, small hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and good service. A well-stocked breakfast with delicious homemade jam and tasty rolls. Everything your heart desires.

Resturant is very cozy, staff is also friendly. But of course the food is always a matter of taste but for the money you can expect a little more. Schnitzel and fried potatoes dripping with fat, spaetzle are certainly not homemade, you can get better ones from wholesalers in a 2.5 kg bag that also look like they are homemade and taste better. So there is still room for improvement. But would come again.

The restaurant in the Hotel Weingärtner is located behind the Seckenheim town hall, right in the center of the district. In the warm season you can sit in a sheltered courtyard. The guest room is furnished somewhat in the style of a Baden wine bar with a touch of modernity through the table decorations and the open quarry stone masonry. What the kitchen brings to the plate is really very good. Today I chose boiled beef in mustard sauce with boiled potatoes and cranberry jam for a very fair €21.90. For that alone you have to celebrate the restaurant at the Hotel Weingärtner! Such restaurants with honest, regional cuisine and reasonable prices absolutely have the future in times of inflation. Keep it up - I wish you many more loyal guests. (Reservations are definitely an advantage due to the quality offered and the limited space available.)

Yesterday we went to this great restaurant for the first time with 4 people. When we arrived at 6 p.m. there were still enough places available, but a short time later all places were full. There was great food based on German recipes. We had Jägerschnitzel, sauerbraten, mussels and liver. ALL four dishes were brilliantly good. The service was attentive and courteous without being overly friendly. The food came quickly and tasted good. Only the lamb's lettuce "crunched" a little, unfortunately it was still a little sandy. Dressing was delicious, portion size was optimal. The portions of the main courses were really generous. We'll definitely be back. The ambience is very nice and inviting

The food was overall disappointing. The dishes were insufficiently seasoned, especially the sour cream/cream was completely tasteless. The steak was thick on top and thin on the bottom; Although I ordered it medium well, it was sometimes tough (well-done) due to the thinner bottom part. The crème brûlée was too cold (also the caramelized sugar), but it was still better than the apple strudel, which was too dry and the dough too salty. Homemade is all well and good, but it also has to taste good. So I don't recommend the restaurant. The service was super friendly, courteous and attentive. 👍🏼👍🏼

Essen lecker, Preise in Ordnung, nur sollte man die Bedienung nicht benötigen, wenn sie selbst am Essen ist, dann kann es dauern. Ausserdem ist es schwierig einen Bewirtungsbeleg zu bekommen, wenn man eine Rechnung verlangt. Dann gibt´es nämlich nur eine Zwischenrechnung, die sie nicht mehr abändern können, wenn der Chef mit dem Kassenschlüssel schon Feierabend gemacht hat. Trotzdem 3 Sterne; für die Küche eigentlich 5

Were there on Boxing Day and had a very good meal. The Cordon Bleu was very juicy and tasty. The beef fillet was also fried to perfection and tasted very good. The mussels in tomato sauce were also great. I can recommend it without reservation.

We had dinner here on two consecutive days and were completely thrilled with the food, ambience and especially the service! Only the manager of the restaurant has the manners of a local mayor or bouncer, which unfortunately doesn't do the restaurant justice. Because of the really great food and especially the service, the full rating is still given.

When we asked if there was room so we could eat something sweet, we were greeted rudely by the lady who said that everything inside was full and that we would have to wait a long time and didn't even look at us. The food was still pretty tasty. We sat down outside and it started to rain heavily, but the staff wasn't interested in their guests in the yard, we all got wet and our and the other customers' food also became garbage. We weren't even invited in, just ignored.

Tried the “shell card”. Great selection.. everything very tasty. Gladly again. Service was very courteous and friendly. The rooms were tastefully decorated for Christmas.

A nice beer/mulled wine garden even in winter

The Restaurant/Hotel Weingärtner is located in the heart of Mannheim - Seckenheim. Parking spaces are somewhat limited, but with a bit of luck you can find one nearby. In front of the entrance there is a cozy atmosphere with mulled wine in winter and in summer you can drink wine or sparkling wine. We visited the restaurant and made reservations in advance. The food, the service and the ambience were very good. Dishes are generously portioned, absolutely delicious and fresh. I can't provide any information about the hotel's operation as only the restaurant was visited. I'm thrilled and happy to recommend it.

St. Martin's goose is absolutely recommended, unfortunately the red cabbage wasn't to my taste... the staff was competent, friendly and funny, we felt very comfortable. St. Martin's Goose 1 year later: The goose was excellent as expected, the remaining side dishes were delicious, the sauce was perfect AND the red cabbage was simply incredibly tasty!!! Not the stuff you're used to in a jar, but rather homemade with a wonderfully wintery taste of Christmas spices. This time I found the entire dish absolutely delicious. The mulled wine stand, which took place in front of the restaurant in a beautiful Christmas setting, was also nice. There was both mulled wine and delicious cocktails here, which seemed more than appropriate for the volatile times. As a guest you feel very welcome and are really pampered. According to my companions, I also recommend the tomato soup, which I didn't eat myself, and also the various desserts. I can absolutely recommend the warm chocolate cake on wild berries with vanilla ice cream. The hot chocolate that flows out after the first tap with a fork, paired with the wild berries and some vanilla ice cream on the spoon... 😋 A perfect end to a culinary evening.

The outdoor area in the summer was really very pleasant and the service was quick, we ate there at any time of the year and were always very satisfied. All the dishes pleased us with their great quality, and the sauces were particularly noteworthy several times... some as a delicious reduction, which made us want more bread (nothing extra). Staff mostly friendly and professional... there was one small exception when a female waitress took a small (justified) criticism very angrily and reacted very rudely. Sorry but the guest is ALWAYS right even if he was wrong, which wasn't the case!

I was in the restaurant a few days ago and had reserved goose breast in advance. When I was served it, I and my companion looked at the plate a little surprised. The goose breast was quite small and fried very dark. Plus 2 small dumplings, a little red cabbage, 1/2 a pear filled with cranberries and a few chestnuts. My first thought was: "A man with a good hunger will not be satisfied with this." I finished my plate - I wasn't really full either - but I was disappointed. The goose breast was dry and seasonless and the portion size was too small to fill you up. To be fair, I have to mention that I don't know whether you can order dumplings or red cabbage again. Since I was upset about the goose breast, I didn't want to eat any more. For a price of €29.90 I really expected something different. At the next table, 3 guests after me also received goose breast and they looked completely different than on my plate. The goose breast was of a size that would definitely fill you up. It wasn't fried that dark but had a beautiful brown color. The side dishes also looked like more. I wanted to clarify this with the chef and asked the waitress to let him know. He came to our table in a black and white chef's suit with a large chef's hat and I explained my request to him. Unfortunately he was not at all open to friendly criticism and left the table in annoyance towards the kitchen. Until now, I was of the opinion that guests could also say if they noticed something, either positive or negative. This is the only way the innkeeper can react - which is apparently not desired in the Weingärtner restaurant, which I find very unfortunate. All in all, my need for goose breast at the Weingärtner restaurant is covered for the coming time.

We were there for a goose dinner. The goose and side dishes were good. The dry Dornfelder is pleasingly good. The service was very good. Attentive, friendly and quick. It was a bit tight, but okay.

Food is quite good… BUT: It can happen that you have to uninvite a few people to a party because the host wants to accommodate 4 more people in the party room. The ambience could be nice if you weren't seated so tightly that you couldn't breathe. Result: We are now celebrating in another restaurant!

Lange, lange waren wir nicht mehr im "Weingärtner", den wir schon unter verschiedenen Pächtern kennengelernt hatten. Und dann stolperte ich über die Saisonkarte mit den Muschelgerichten, rief spontan an - und 15 Minuten später saßen wir in einem dann bis auf den letzten Platz besetzten Lokal... Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, Wein und Wasser kamen rasch, und auch auf die Vorspeisen (Feldsalat und Bruschetta) mussten wir nicht lange warten. Die Muscheln in Weißwein und meine Spaghetti mit Muscheln in Tomatensauce waren einfach nur lecker - gut gewürzt und angesichts der Vorspeisen fast zu üppig. Nach zwei Espressi verließen wir den "Weingärtner" satt und zufrieden. Spätestens zum Gansessen möchten wir wiederkommen...

Had pepperoni as a starter, boiled cheese schnitzel and Bavarian schnitzel with fried potatoes and sorbet as dessert. Everything was very tasty and plentiful. Next time I would use garlic butter/quark instead of hollandaise with the pepperoni. But it's a matter of taste. The house lemonade is also recommended. Price/performance definitely deserves 5 stars. The atmosphere inside and outside is very nice. I'll definitely come back more often now.

It was our first time here and we didn't have a table reserved. We were lucky and got a table. Very nice outdoor area that invites you to linger on warm summer nights. However, we sat inside because it was a little too cool for us. This restaurant is a home-style German restaurant. What I immediately noticed was the friendliness and attentiveness of the friendly service staff. I chose the Bavarian schnitzel and wanted it with turkey instead of pork. The nice service staff asked in the kitchen and it was no problem at all. What can I say? It really tasted very, very good! The schnitzel was crispy and the fried potatoes were delicious with bacon and onions. And the horseradish sauce was really delicious. My companion had a schnitzel with chanterelles and bread dumplings. Chanterelles are really very well seasoned and very tasty. You could really taste the herbs. If you want to eat a good home-style meal, you're in really good hands. The portions are really big and sufficient. The plates that went to other tables were also very generous. The service staff and the chef asked several times whether everything was okay. At this point, many thanks to the chef Michael, who really did a great job. Kudos also to the nice service staff, who unfortunately neglected to ask for their names. Absolute recommendation from me!

I ordered rump steak with chanterelles and dumplings from the seasonal menu. The rump steak was of excellent quality and medium rare. I am very critical when it comes to chanterelles because the quality often leaves something to be desired. Different here, very fresh, excellent quality

Food was great and worth the money. Unfortunately, the boss seemed a bit listless and really wanted to give us a table outside near the door and not completely in the shade. But the other lady was even friendlier.

Yummy. Very tasty, I love the schnitzels there. No mass-produced goods. Food with quality. Very comfortable and absolutely no rush. Chill out food. Ambiance is very well maintained and clean. I was also allowed to do the taste test on others. My child loves the spaghetti, calfskin 1A and next time there will definitely be the tarte flambée, so I could have eaten more. 😀 unfortunately no photos, this time I really enjoyed the time.

Back at the wine gardener! You simply have to return to this “dress” again and again! Feel the special ambience, take in the details, enjoy the good food and the attentive service and come back, because the wine gardener is addictive!

The food is quite good, you can't complain much about that, but if you have reserved a table with several people, then you should know in advance whether any of them will cancel, because here it is definitely not welcome if you do not all seats occupied! You then get a nice shout-out in front of all the other guests (personally from the boss, at least that's what she told us) even though you apologize several times for the last-minute cancellations when you're already sitting in the restaurant. That's why this was my last visit to this restaurant!

We went to Weingärtner Essen again for a birthday. Due to the good weather, a table in the idyllic beer garden was automatically reserved for us. Despite a lot of activity and visibly stressed service staff, all of our wishes were met and implemented promptly. The service staff was always present at the table. All the dishes we ordered were again wonderful and we couldn't stop praising them. Another successful evening. Thank you.

We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary there. The food was great. What's not possible is that the boss is very unfriendly towards my guests, he didn't let our guests into the restaurant with their gifts at 5:45 p.m. (we don't open until 5 p.m.) even though he was standing in front of the open hotel!?! Then I actually expect that when a celebration is planned, the table will be beautifully set, what happened is that the cutlery was put on a cheap serving dish, glasses were only put on a water glass, I have never experienced anything like that, not even once He neither congratulated us nor looked after us. Impossible, never again a celebration in this restaurant.

The food (turkey breast with vegetables and salad) was very tasty and came in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the employees/customers smoke outside. Typical German cuisine.
