We were there with a large group. The food was delicious, the service was good, and the atmosphere was great. Better than average, but there's still room for improvement, especially with the food.

The ambiance is pleasant and the service friendly. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't impress us. We were there for lunch with a large business group. Overall, the value for money wasn't good. The schnitzel was too greasy and not crispy, the fries weren't cooked well, and no bread was served with the salad. The beef strips were tough and barely seasoned, and all the dishes were served lukewarm. The chocolate cake with a liquid center also didn't live up to the description—the center was solid. Unfortunately, not recommended for this setting. It was also a shame that our review received no response—not even an apology.

Great outdoor terrace, perfect service and very good food

The food was excellent, the service attentive, but unfortunately, one meal and several drinks were apparently forgotten. The ambiance is beautiful, but the background music and a humming noise (presumably the coffee machine) were too loud, making conversation at the table almost impossible.

Nice ambiance and a great view of the Neckar River. In summer, it's always great to sit outside with a view of the TV tower. The food was good.

The ambiance is very nice. The service could be improved. We had to wait almost 20 minutes for a server to take our order. Then it took at least another 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive.

Highly recommended! We hosted my daughter's wedding reception here on Friday and were absolutely thrilled! The food was simply fantastic: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. There was plenty of service, so everything ran smoothly and without any waiting. We celebrated with about 80 people. We were particularly impressed by how the team accommodated all our requests, both during the planning phase and on the day itself. Every special request was fulfilled with a smile. The ambiance was dreamy and a perfect fit for our special day. Our guests were just as thrilled as we were! We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the fantastic service and the unforgettable celebration!

I've been coming back to Maruba for years, which boasts a beautiful location. However, on my last visit, I discovered that the prices are far too high for the food and drinks. The price/performance ratio and the quality are completely out of proportion. It's a shame that it's come to this. The old chairs and tables are also no longer in keeping with the times. I've decided not to visit the restaurant again.

You can do it, but you don't have to. A real plus point is that the seating is nice, both inside and outside, and there's parking. The service is also friendly. The food, however, isn't particularly impressive—the pasta was overcooked, the chicken was almost dry, and the vegetables had no flavor of their own. There's still a lot of room for improvement.

It's a wonderful place. A place to enjoy with a river view. The coffee and ice cream apple cake were wonderful. I definitely recommend the apple dessert. It's a peaceful and quiet place.

I've been coming here every now and then for years because of the convenient parking and spacious terrace. No playground. The food feels like it's been the same for years. Little variety, little inspiration. Service is very attentive and good. Wheelchair accessible.

It's a place by the river where you can go with a large group. The food is considered delicious, but the prices are relatively expensive.

A beautiful restaurant, a lovely atmosphere, good food, friendly, attentive service, but definitely an unprofessional owner. We're sorry that we were so excited about our elementary school reunion with our former teacher after 26 years that we didn't have time to worry about your staff, the kitchen, or, in short, the organization. Of course, it's NOT the restaurant's responsibility, but rather the guests' responsibility to ask any questions they didn't ask when making a reservation. We didn't know that several drinks, cakes, and even one main course weren't enough, and that everyone should order a separate dish for such a large group (which we were planning to do). We were personally informed by the owner at our table. We would also like to thank you for the email we received after our stay, which again informed us that the whole thing had been misunderstood by nine adults. There won't be a next time, even though it wasn't the first time and none of us enjoyed it! Perhaps the owner should remain the owner and leave the tasks to his staff, who have more knowledge and sensitivity. Perhaps revising the online reservation system would help your organization… by requiring that you indicate whether food is served or not… then it would be less of an inconvenience for the next guests than it was for us.

We had organized a reunion at Maruba with former classmates – including our 84-year-old teacher. We had reserved in advance for about 15 people. Everyone arrived gradually, and drinks and some cakes were ordered. We wanted to arrive in a relaxed atmosphere and order food together later. But after about an hour, the restaurant owner came to our table in a noticeably sharp tone. He said the kitchen was ready and we urgently needed to place our food orders, as this was a restaurant, not a café. Even though we explained to him that we were in the process of deciding and wanted to eat later, he put pressure on us. Our teacher tried to calm the situation, but she, too, was initially spoken to in an unfriendly manner. The overall tone was inappropriate and unwelcoming. When one guest asked if he should cancel his order, he was even accused of threatening to cancel. The atmosphere was very tense, and some guests felt downright uncomfortable. We then decided not to order any main courses and only pay for our drinks. Unfortunately, this experience severely soured our meeting. Conclusion: It's a shame that the professionalism and hospitality were lacking. We would have preferred a more respectful tone and more understanding for a group that wanted to experience not just consumption but also community.

We had serious doubts that we had the ordered wine in our glass. The waiter took it back, supposedly smelled the bottle, and confirmed it. However, a significant sip was missing.

Our food was delicious overall, but the fries needed to be cooked to a reasonable temperature. Given the high prices, this is an absolute must. That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. The service and ambiance are very pleasant.

The food wasn't good; the pancake was more like a wrap. The filling consisted of sliced ​​asparagus, and the highlight was the hollandaise sauce from the carton. (The manager showed us how to make it herself.) For €23.90, I'd expect something a little different.

The terrace was nicely designed and even partially covered. The young waitress was very attentive. However, we waited a little over an hour for our food. The restaurant didn't offer any apologies. Had they informed us in advance that it would take longer due to a party, everything would have been fine. But nothing came. Even afterward, when the bill arrived, they offered a small apology (€74).

We celebrated my birthday there, and it was fantastic! The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic! Simply a perfect evening.

It's okay... The food was okay, not outstanding, but good. What's really strange, though, is that you have to pay a €2 surcharge for each side dish you change (e.g., from spaetzle to fries). What's the point of that? As if it would turn all the kitchen processes upside down!? Extremely unpleasant, especially for the server, who explicitly mentions it every time you change. Please think about it, boss. No offense. Thanks.

We went to a wedding at this restaurant and were thrilled!

Unfortunately, the food wasn't that great, but that was probably an isolated incident.

We only wanted to make a quick stop for a shandy, but it took almost 45 minutes for the shandy to arrive. We also ordered an iced coffee, which also arrived about 15 minutes later than the shandy.

There were four of us there and we ordered three beers and an iced coffee. Unfortunately, we had to wait 30 minutes before we could even order. Then it took another 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive – although the iced coffee didn't arrive until 15 minutes later. Paying was also difficult: We had to go inside because our waitress had apparently already finished work and said she had no more customers. Overall, the service was disappointing, and we won't be visiting the place again.

Unfortunately, my visit to Maruba was a bitter disappointment. The ambiance is anything but inviting – poorly designed and lacking in atmosphere. From the moment you enter, you feel unwelcome. The staff were unfriendly and seemed annoyed instead of caring about the guests. The quality of the food was disappointing: tasteless, poorly prepared, and definitely not fresh. The value for money is, in my opinion, a disgrace. The height of the unpleasantness, however, was the chef himself – extremely arrogant and not at all open to criticism. We went there spontaneously on Sunday. The outdoor area is nice, with a view of the water. But that's about it. The food was more like cafeteria food, but it was overpriced. Not even a salad. I won't go there again.

If you have a dinner party of 50 people, the other guests shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes. The staff may have to be called in so that all guests can be served equally. Food: Bad. Tastes like in the canteen. A wine in the glass was tipped back into the bottle. Service: Poor. Requests for changes (e.g. fries instead of spaetzle) only come with an additional charge of €2. Ambience: Unpleasant. The black ceiling and dark walls make the room gloomy. Plus it's terribly loud.

Unfortunately no more pork. We've always enjoyed eating at Maruba regularly with the whole family, but unfortunately they haven't served pork here for quite some time. A Wiener Schnitzel made from turkey is really not the same. The first time we thought it was over, but we discovered it's no longer offered. Too bad.

A great location with a fantastic view of the Neckar and the telecommunications tower. Nice service and reasonable prices. Menu with variety. My tip: bouillabaisse. This was the best fish soup I have ever eaten. The beautiful beer garden is located directly on the Neckar hiking trail.

Was here for lunch on a Friday. Service super friendly and personable. Extensive selection of food and drinks available. I decided on Schnitzel Jäger style with fries, instead of the accompanying spaetzle. Drinks, starter salad were served quickly. The taste of the schnitzel was okay, but personally there wasn't enough hunter's sauce. And the narrow, deep plate wasn't particularly comfortable to eat either; a flat plate would have been more practical.

We had a closed party yesterday and felt very comfortable. I would particularly like to emphasize the attentive service and the coordination of the process by the owner. Since I was invited as a guest with two other vegans, our special requests were perfectly fulfilled. The sorbet for dessert was a hit. And everyone else really got their money’s worth at the buffet. Then there’s the location. Directly on the Neckar. And thanks again to the nice and professional staff who looked after us all.

Food consists mainly of frozen products. Sold for a lot of money, unfortunately there is no pork on the menu. Drinks are too expensive, as are wines and sparkling wine. The waitresses were rude and repeatedly forgot orders at the table and were extremely slow and inattentive. When the porcini mushrooms in the sauce were out, the guest was not informed. The inn is not recommended.

Excellent food and short waiting times. A reservation is recommended, especially in the evenings, as the restaurant is very busy. In summer you can also sit outside directly on the Neckar Canal and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. There are a large number of parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant. Simply great! You can sit outside and it is very nice, when the weather is good. The food is good but the prices are very high, since it’s not a high class location. 25€ for pasta with shrimps, or 9€ for a mini bowl of soup is even more expensive than high class restaurants in the city center. Service was good.

Wedding party: incredibly attentive, courteous, helpful AND cheerful service team! Absolutely recommended for celebrations.

A very nice restaurant, right on the Neckar. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The menu is clear, but there is something for everyone. The food was good, the portions were decent. We will definitely come back.

Delicious food, lots of vegetarian, seasonal, imaginative and tasty dishes. When we were there in the fall there was a lot of pumpkin. On the terrace there is a beautiful, wide view of the Neckar and the Mulberry Island.

We were here on a Saturday evening, there was plenty of free parking on site. The location/view on the terrace is very nice and cozy. The service was very friendly. The food was delicious (not that cheap. We would definitely recommend it. The menu is manageable. The food came quite quickly, but the restaurant was busy and it took a while until you could order and receive something.

Ich fange mal mit dem Essen an, das war gut, wenn auch etwas zu teuer. Wir waren 4 Personen und bekamen einen kleineren Tisch am Fenster zugewiesen. Kaum hatten wir unsere Essen bestellt füllte sich das Lokal sehr schnell komplett. Es stellte sich heraus, dass offensichtlich 3 verschiedene Feiern reserviert waren, d.h. es kamen fast gleichtzeitig ca. 60 - 80 Personen ins Lokal. Der Lärmpegel war nicht auszuhalten, wir haben, nachdem wir schnell gegessen hatten, fluchtartig das Lokal verlassen. Fazit: unsere Reservierung hätte niemals angenommen werden dürfen. In so einem Fall ist ein Lokal AUSGEBUCHT. Wir hätten unser Essen sofort stornieren und gehen sollen. Dumm gelaufen.

Beautiful location in summer with a view of the canal and lock. Staff was nice and quick. Food, fish and ground turkey steak, was tasty and large enough for the price. The minced steak was a little different than usual due to the carrot content, but that made it interesting and something different (in a positive sense). Toilet was clean and tidy. The location itself was well maintained and everything was clean. You can also take a look into the kitchen! Prices are okay, not cheap but okay for what is on offer.

Never (!) have I been actively asked about rounding up when paying with EC (I always tip in cash), and no one in the restaurant has ever called me by my first name, which she noticed beforehand. Maruba war einst eine angesagte und angenehme Location direkt am Neckar. Das ist lange her. Schön ist es da immer noch, aber das Essen hat stark nachgelassen. Die sehr reduzierte Speisekarte fängt bei 8,90 Euro an (Suppe). Kleine Gerichte gibt es gar nicht mehr. Für alles muss man mindestens knapp 20 Euro bezahlen, bei bescheidener Qualität von Massenware. Rechtfertigt wenigstens der Service diese Preise? Nein, man muss sehr lange warten. Mein Gericht wurde schlichtweg vergessen. Die Rechnung musste ich drei Mal verlangen, das letzte Mal mit Nachdruck, sonst säße ich vermutlich immer noch dort. Auf den ersten Blick einladend, ich werde dem in Zukunft widerstehen.
