Overpriced, too long waiting times to get the menu, food, etc. When the food came, a salad was simply brought to one of several dishes that wasn't ordered. Mushrooms were served instead of apples with the pork fillet and only once was there a request for new drinks. The innkeeper prefers to talk to other guests rather than looking after larger groups. Unfortunately the red cabbage was cold, far too sweet and too much cinnamon. At least we got a hot portion. The dumplings were not tasty. The bread dumpling in particular was just a solid lump of dough. The apple with chestnuts was ok. I would have been happy to do without it if the basics were good. The service: Distributed, forgetful, inattentive. The lady was very friendly and tried to save us. At least the forgotten espresso was on the house. The ambience in the next room: Cold, loveless and uncomfortable, 80s chic. Conclusion: Nothing that would justify the price of €43. I definitely won't come again. A reasonable price for the ambience, service and taste would be €25-29. Then you could evaluate a good.

There were four of us and we wanted to go to another restaurant at 1:15 p.m. but it was already closed at 1 p.m. We looked for open restaurants and came across the two brothers by chance, luckily. By the time we got there it was 1:50 p.m. Nevertheless, we were served in a friendly but unobtrusive manner and with a lot of patience, even though we were a little late. The atmosphere is very nice, you immediately feel at home. We ordered 2 soups in advance, 2 salads, 2 vegetable stir-fries and 2 different meat dishes. Everything was to our complete satisfaction, there was nothing to criticize, on the contrary. The brothers are somewhat reserved in their manner, absolutely unobtrusive but NOT unfriendly. It has more of an elegant style so as not to disturb the guest. If you want hustle and bustle, you should go to a beer tent or a station bar. You go to the Kreuzhof restaurant if you want to have a quiet, pleasant, tasty meal at moderate prices. At the end we started talking, we talked about food culture and “quality vs. cheap food”. We have been coming to the Löwen regularly for over 15 years now. The food is down-to-earth in Baden, honest cuisine, and what is served always tastes excellent. The kitchen is quick, and even with a very busy crowd you still have to wait a long time. The service staff are always friendly, regardless of whether they are young or older. The atmosphere in the vine-covered courtyard is almost Mediterranean, and the dining room is very cozy. It's nice that an inn like this still exists.
