I don't even know where to start - our meal from Lalo Bistro in Mainz was just an absolute disaster. We were really looking forward to a delicious meal, but what was delivered was just disgusting.
The summer rolls were a disgrace - not only were they rolled completely carelessly, one of them actually had dirt in it! Something like that doesn't work at all. And then the shrimp: Instead of using whole shrimp, they were simply cut in half to make it look like there was more inside. This is just a cheap deception.
Then the rest of the food: cold, limp, tasteless. The soup tasted like it was days old and mixed with some cheap instant powder - completely artificial and stale. The sushi? It tasted sour! Fresh fish should never taste sour, that's really more than a concern.
I don't know how this restaurant can even exist if the quality is treated like this. For us it was definitely the first and last time. Absolutely not recommended, just disgusting. 👎🏼
We ate at Beviamo on two consecutive days. And it won't be the last time. I have never enjoyed such a good saltimbocca. The Pulpo is great too! Needless to say, the ambience is great, the Hyatt next door, the large square and the river views make the place a favorite. Parking is also very easy. A real feel-good zone.
Food comes to the table quickly and well, the ambience is nice, the location is great. However, hospitality and a desire for gastronomy feels different. The average age in service feels like it is 21 years old. It's not their fault, they're in the spirit of the times, those who manage and select staff need to take a look at themselves and rethink their goals.
I would have actually given it 4 stars, but due to the fact that we, as customers with a reservation for 1 p.m., were no longer able to enjoy the full menu.
At that price, I demand the full menu until the last minute.
The quality of the items available was good.
There is always unwanted advertising in the mailbox, even though there is a sticker that clearly rejects this. For that reason alone I won't eat at your place.
In the last 2 years I have often picked up something to eat after shopping there. My standard dishes have become on average €3-4 more expensive during this time. The quality got worse and worse. The fried rice for a whopping €9.50 comes with small diced frozen carrots and a few countable peas. That's it for vegetables. The soy sauce is
totally tasteless, just finished.
I would never use it for cooking at home. Regardless of the food, it is also noticeable that the older employee always wears a greasy rubber glove with which he gives the change from the cash register and then prepares the food with the same glove. It doesn't have to be like that.
Today, for the first time, I threw away the food halfway through. 3 hours later I had other problems. In short: price - performance is simply not right. That was it for me/us.
Was here on Sunday for the buffet. We really liked the food, service and atmosphere. We will definitely come back. The rooms are spacious and you can sit in a niche without constant annoying noise levels. I really have nothing to complain about 👍👍👍 see you soon Greetings from Mainz
