Great service, very friendly and accommodating. After a short time, rolls, croissants and butter were out... only refilled upon request. At a buffet, you should make sure that nothing is sold out, especially in the first hour after opening. At the end you can understand filling up as needed... but not at the beginning. Especially since every table was occupied, you can expect a maximum rush. The floor sticks in the restaurant and also on the toilets. There is something for every taste when it comes to selection.

Unfortunately, the brunch is much worse than I remembered. A lot of things taste thawed and not very fresh, even if the selection is actually good. Nevertheless: There are much better options in Mainz.

I ordered the Teriyaki Lachs Bowl. Throughout the entire meal, I had something crunching on my teeth in the place with the food, like sand. At some point, my tooth almost broke because I felt that I was chewing some kind of stones... when we asked what it was, the waiter said that it was pepper, and even brought it to show for comparison. I don’t know what it was, but it was so hard - like a stone, and if you weren’t careful you could lose your teeth. Even if it really is pepper, you should at least warn about it.

The four of us went to Alex for brunch today. Price performance absolutely ok. Our service was on point and very attentive. Ambiance was also very nice. The climate was also good, although it was sometimes very crowded, but you could still have a good time. Recommended

We were there for lunch with dessert and, as always, we were very satisfied. The service is friendly and very helpful, we like to come every time. The food isn't great, but it still tastes good, you know what you're getting and there's something for everyone for a bite to eat for lunch or dinner with friends. However, the desserts are the highlight

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The waiter's behavior was aggressive and I had the impression several times that he was discriminatory. We paid 15.50 euros for a buffet and he wanted to impose quantity limits on us. I have traveled all over the world and have never experienced behavior like this. I'm really disappointed.

I recently visited Restaurant Alex in Mainz, attracted by their buffet for 15.50 euros. Unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. When we arrived the waiter greeted us aggressively and asked why we were there, which is strange in a restaurant. When we said we wanted breakfast his response was equally indifferent. He also came over to check our plate and let us know that we had taken too much, which wasn't the case. We arrived just 20 minutes before closing time and noticed that other guests, particularly Germans, were taking much larger quantities without any problems. When I expressed my discomfort with his attitude, he simply replied that it wasn't his problem. This lack of respect and professionalism is unacceptable. A buffet should be a buffet, and if there are restrictions, they should be clearly displayed. I am very disappointed and have no desire to return to Mainz.

The classic cocktails had a bunch of weird ingredients in them, and everything was overpriced. Besides that, I really liked the décor, and the service was good. Also, the kaffee and kuchen deal is good!

We were there for breakfast with 14 people and had made reservations beforehand. Unfortunately, we weren't seated together, so we couldn't talk to our colleagues and we were divided into 3 groups. As is typical for Alex, the food is very tasty and the buffet offering is very good.

We were in Mainz over the weekend and discovered this charming café while strolling through the city. The ice cream parlor was simply fantastic – just the right mix of sweet and strong! The iced tea was also wonderfully refreshing. The service was super friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. The location is particularly great: when the weather was nice, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Absolutely recommended for anyone looking for a little break in Mainz!

This place has very good coffee, but the drink prices are ridiculous! 9 euros for a cup of cappuccino and a cola.. other than the price, it's an okay place, nothing special. If you are looking for drinks only and have time however, go sit somewhere by the river.. you can go off cheaper and have a better view.

Often people with children on site. There is no climate. Quite expensive for simple dishes that only compete with the freezer. At least in the past it was only the drinks that made you impoverished. The fries seasoning mix was very good. There were really a lot of people serving. We still got a table at lunchtime, but it was different so it was probably luck. Conclusion: you can do it.

The Oriental salad is very delicious, and the crispy chicken dish with dammam and vegetables is also delicious, but the waiter must be smiling as well...and welcome those arriving/they lack the skill of explaining the details of the food.

Ich war mit meiner Familie und meiner Nichte zum Frühstück in Ihrem Restaurant. Zu meiner Überraschung wurde ich aufgefordert, das Alter meiner Nichte durch Vorlage ihres Ausweises nachzuweisen. Die Schichtleiterin bestand vehement darauf, den Ausweis zu sehen, nachdem ich auf ihre Frage nach dem Alter des Kindes zunächst mit "10" geantwortet hatte. Als ich nach dem Grund für diese Nachfrage fragte, erklärte sie mir, dass Kinder ab 10 Jahren den vollen Preis bezahlen müssen. Ich korrigierte meine Antwort und sagte, dass meine Nichte noch nicht 10 Jahre alt sei und ich lediglich aufgerundet hatte. Die Schichtleiterin glaubte mir jedoch nicht und verlangte weiterhin den Ausweis, was eine äußerst demütigende und unangenehme Situation für mich darstellte. Beim Bezahlen war der Service noch enttäuschender. Ein ausländischer, dunkelhaariger Mitarbeiter warf mir die Quittung ins Gesicht. Als ich ihm mitteilte, dass ich mit dem Service sehr unzufrieden sei, entgegnete er nur schnippisch, ich solle einfach die Karte hinhalten, ich würde mein Geld sowieso bekommen. Tatsächlich erhielt ich mein Geld, doch er wünschte mir und meiner Familie absichtlich lautstark einen unangenehmen Tag. Das unprofessionelle Verhalten Ihrer Schichtleiterin (ohne Namensschild, klein und blond) und Ihres Mitarbeiters finde ich für Ihr Restaurant, Alex-Mainz, äußerst beschämend. Ich werde dieses Ereignis in allen Google-Bewertungsportalen schildern und all meinen Freunden davon berichten.

Nice place to start your Sunday comfortably and without stress with a good breakfast. Ambience good, food good and prices are reasonable. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The buffet is good and rich and suitable for every taste. Wheelchairs can also easily get in here via a flat step. There is also an outdoor area.

Top location in Mainz for a tasty breakfast buffet. Lots of choice, very tasty, good bread. And, you don't expect it, but the baked potatoes are very tasty for breakfast. When everything is just as tasty for the rest of the day. Especially going. And the cakes there look delicious too.

I took a seat and waited a long time, but nobody approached me to take my order. The waiters were talking to each other and playing with their mobile phones, so I left the restaurant. The service must be improved!

I've been here several times before, albeit at a longer interval, but it doesn't matter. However, the price will put me off in the future: milk coffee + Fanta 9€. Despite the prices, it is always quite crowded. We also had to wait a long time until we could pay, no goodbye or anything from the waitress...Hmmm? For me, that's part of the service, even if it's just my expectation, but I still leave my money there.

The breakfast buffet is not bad but the drink prices are exorbitant, a large coffee costs €5.20 I have never paid that much anywhere and a bottle of water €9.00 🫣 Since it is a large room, the background noise is very loud.

The breakfast buffet is generally nicely decorated. The service makes an effort, but is inflexible when putting the tables together and reacts unprofessionally and unfriendly in the event of mishaps (sparkling wine being spilled). The cold champagne that was completely spilled on the guest was replaced with lukewarm champagne. The extremely complicated process with a form for submitting a cleaning invoice was taken over by an unmotivated and disgruntled shift manager. This added to the unpleasant experience. The ready-made fruit salad from the bucket, which was already tingling on the tongue, should not go unmentioned.

Very long waiting times, drinks ordered when we arrived at the restaurant. Asked at the counter after 10 minutes and saw that the drinks were ready on the counter. But if all employees play on their cell phones, nothing will happen... Waiting time for food was also really long, on the way to the toilet I saw that there were easily 10 meals ready under the heat lamp, just not brought to the tables. We sat outside under the umbrella for 10 minutes (from 6:55-7:05) and were not served. Apparently because of the light rain the outside terrace would be closed. Instead of telling us something, they stared at us for 10 minutes and said nothing. Note that there were 3 other tables next to us that were eating and drinking, which is why we assumed we would get something. The waiter and the waitress started to argue with us and said: “You should ask first”, “Should I walk through the heavy rain?!” (it was drizzling). I've been a regular for years and always just sit down like everyone else but today it suddenly became a problem. The rudeness and disrespect that both of us and the other guests showed us is pure madness. I'd rather go to the Aposto next door.

Years ago we were here in Mainz at ALEX and wanted to have a drink there as a group and even though we had made a reservation and had a reservation confirmation, we didn't get a table. Today we were there again and wanted to have a drink in the nice weather, but the boss there said the five of us weren't allowed to sit outside (3 adults and 2 children). There were rules and we had to stick to them, we were asked to either leave or sit inside (which would be a shame given the nice weather). As a friendly and nice coffee, you could have suggested that the three adults sit at the four tables and the two children next to them at the two tables, but even that wasn't right for the boss there. We simply advise against spending your money there, it's good that we have enough coffee shops here in our beautiful Mainz that don't impose such ridiculous rules and ask that guests go somewhere else. We personally will avoid the store in the future and will advise everyone not to go there!

I had ordered a salmon bowl, it was the most disgusting thing I had eaten until Jets, with mayonnaise on top, which doesn't belong in a salmon bowl, no fresh vegetables and no properly roasted salmon, I wouldn't eat that again!

Unfortunately, the quality of the food is decreasing and prices are increasing. I ordered a chicken karaage bowl, which looks very appealing in the photo on the menu. What was brought to me was disappointing. Carelessly prepared, I had to look for the avocado. It was hidden under the lettuce and was completely brown with dark spots. I was able to return the food. The waitress was very friendly and apologized, but it wasn't her fault. The portions of fries are also getting smaller and smaller. Drinks are ok and you sit in the middle of the action.

An absolutely disappointing experience! If you want to go for a taste explosion, it's better to go to the dentist and get a root canal without anesthesia. It seemed as if the chef had forgotten that food should also taste good. The dishes were bland, uninspired and seemed like a cheap imitation of what you would expect in a restaurant. Save your money and go eat somewhere else!

We were there today. The baked potato with the salad and Cola Zero were delicious. The service (male) was courteous. Also gave a tip. After paying, I wanted to go to the toilet when a lady said "We don't have a toilet". As long as I have eaten I am a customer, after that I am not? This is not a service and not good advertising!

The store is so huge that anyone can get in there. Sunday is typically the day when you no longer know where to go, then Alex is there for you. The service is nice, I thought. Despite the many guests, you would be in good hands. The food is hmm quite disappointing this time. What is in the picture looks somehow different. I know how pictures are supposed to work, but that was pretty intense. I had blueberry iced tea (8/10) which was really big for 0.5L, I should have used smaller ones. But it was good. And I had chicken teriyaki with sweet potato fries (7.2/10) In the picture the whole chicken breast was put, and what I got? So three dry, hard breast slices, so…. Fries and salad were okay, sauce was okay. I have better experience with the other Alexkette, unfortunately I have to say that.

Germany's service desert is taken to its absolute extreme in Alex Mainz. In principle, you cannot make a reservation online or by telephone. Online, every appointment is ALWAYS full, no matter what time it is. No matter whether you want to reserve for 6 or one person. Basically no one answers the phone. But if you happen to be lucky and go there in the morning at a time that, according to the internet, is completely booked, the store is empty. Then you can't just sit down (it's empty), no, you have to wait at the entrance and if you're patient enough and the employees have noticed that you really want to go in and won't let yourself be driven away by ignoring you, they'll ask if you want to go has reserved because the shop is full.... (wind blows, a desert rose rolls through the picture, in the distance the hooves of a lonely cowboy). Once you've managed to get placed, you have to be very patient again until someone deigns to take an order. Not that that would be possible in a friendly tone. After all, you have the nerve to stay and not just disappear. But whatever. The food is really excellent and is of great quality. Portions are always decent. Definitely worth the wait. Brunch leaves nothing to be desired, there is simply everything your heart desires. It's definitely worth going there too. And in my opinion the prices are also completely reasonable. 😃

Everything around it was great!! However, something went wrong with the reservation. We had booked for a wheelchair user. However, there was neither space nor a table available for this. With a little improvisation on our part it worked. Otherwise we were completely satisfied with the quality of the food and service.

This place was our first meal in Germany. The restaurant was open on the weekend, so we popped in for a quick lunch. We ordered four schnitzel with beer and drinks. We ordered a small-size beer but were served a larger one and billed for the tall size. Overall, the food was okay and the staff was friendly.
