Very friendly and attentive staff! The food is a dream! We ate there two days in a row because it tasted so incredibly good.
Highly recommended! We'd love to come back :)
The food at Taste My Burger was very good. We had also lost a gold bracelet there, and the staff found it, and kept it until I came back two days later to pick it up. I appreciate their honesty.
This was our first time there; the outside area was okay, nothing special. The beer garden wasn't open. The interior is traditional, modern, and upscale, which I rate as 10/10. The food was delicious, the beer drinkable, although I found the price too high for its location right next to the brewery (example: Augustiner Munich Brewery). I had the schnitzel, which was offered with cranberries on the menu. However, I was then brought ketchup, and when I asked, they only brought cranberries, which were charged extra. That's unacceptable.
Addendum on the beer garden: It was open. The beer garden isn't particularly nice or inviting. The "sweets" shop was closed (it was a nice Saturday in September). Drinks are brought out, and you have to get your own food. So, of course, you end up tipping much more in the long run. The chicken was awful, the pretzels too, and way too expensive. The one that was pulled out was also awful. Overall, the food was a 0/10 at these prices. This was definitely the last time.
Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of German cuisine, but wow, this restaurant wowed me!
The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a traditional Bavarian restaurant, and the service was incredibly friendly.
We had the veal schnitzel with cranberry sauce on the first evening, and I don't usually like schnitzel; in my experience, they're always dry and lacking in flavor. But the schnitzel from the Ratskeller in a pretzel-parmesan breading was juicy and delicious, and the cranberries went perfectly with it. The fries and potato wedges served with it were also fresh and delicious.
The Kaiserschmarrn was the last straw for me. I've never had such heavenly Kaiserschmarrn. It was so good that we simply had to come back the next evening.
This time I tried the venison goulash with pretzel dumplings; again, a very good taste experience, especially the dumplings. The meat could have been a bit more tender, but overall I was still very satisfied—especially with another portion of the best Kaiserschmarrn.
The Ratskeller made our visit much more enjoyable, and I hope I can return sometime.
Edit September 2025:
I don't know what happened, but unfortunately the tap house has declined quite a bit. The menu consists almost entirely of Camba beers and a few other German and European beers (Belgian, etc.). UK/US beers are barely represented anymore, and if they are, they're mostly just the craft beers you can also find in a well-stocked store. Things used to be different. Even Jever Pils and Tegernseer Hell are now on the menu ;(
That would be fine, too - but the service isn't what it used to be. Questions about the beers you've ordered or help with beer selection are almost impossible when you feel like you know more than the staff ("What is a Farmhouse Ale? It's an ale. And the ale is called Farmhouse..."). Well - maybe it was just like that today. But the pinsas were pretty good. Too bad - in the early years, the Tap House was really great.
---
For many years, the Tap House has been the first port of call for enjoying hundreds of different beers from all over the world. The (very good) beers from the Camba Bavaria brewery in Truchtlaching, which operates the Tap House, dominate. Plus hundreds of beers from primarily Europe, with a few from Canada or the USA.
The staff is quick and knowledgeable if you're ever stuck.
There are also a few Small snacks, nothing sensational, but good. Card payments accepted.
Review: In the early years, the beer selection was somewhat better. There was a lot more American craft beer. Beers from Japan and the like are completely absent. The tap house has raised its prices considerably, especially for imported beers.
Great option for Bavarian food in Garmisch Partenkirchen. We had the Fuhre Mist which was a variety of meats plus fries served in a wooden cart. The meats were generally tender and had good flavor, and the portions were huge.
We also had the cheese soup and beef soup which were both were underwhelming but I guess homey and comforting.
I would say the flavors weren't particularly spectacular, but it was nice to try authentic Bavarian food.
I visited this restaurant back in 2015 when I was last in Erding… My husband has been here since and it was the place I wanted to eat when I came back here! Such a lovely little restaurant and great service! I had the lamb biryani and my husband had a Thali. We were both very happy with the food!
The three of us went to eat based on the top reviews.
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food.
The snack platter was heartless and there was hardly any spread, and the bread and meat were of the same quality as at Aldi.
The currywurst was top-notch, which is why it gets a second star.
The spaetzle were greasy and okay.
The Schwabenteller (Swabian plate) was a complete disgrace: the vegetables were like frozen mix, the mushrooms looked like they came from a can, and the sauce and meat tasted stale.
The drinks were all good, but you can't really go wrong...
The service was overwhelmed, unprofessional, and rude at the same time. Upon entering, we were surprised that we wanted to eat there, despite the beer garden being half empty.
The service was devoid of any courtesy, and instead of asking if you didn't like your meal, you had to listen to stupid comments about not being able to finish your meal, or instead of opening one of the many umbrellas, you had to change tables, to name just a few examples.
In the end, we went to Aldi and stocked up there.
We find the 4.6 stars completely misleading, unfortunately...
