The food was good and the ambience was nice, but the experience felt dishonest. The waiter offered us their house rosé without mentioning it was chargeable, implying it was complimentary and pushing us to have more. We were surprised to find a €52 charge for two glasses on the bill. On top of that, the waiter insisted that tipping in Germany was “basically mandatory,” which I later found was untrue. These practices overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable meal. Seems like they have deceptive practices to increase the bill under the guise of being a reputable establishment. March Update: We filed a chargeback and after an investigation they agreed that we were scammed and the server was misleading us with free drinks so they refunded me. Don’t let manipulative establishments like this place abuse your consumer rights.

Excellent food, excellent service and comfortable seating. Only the wine couldn't suit our tastes, even though we were kindly given a 5! offered various wines to taste because we couldn't win any of them.

Anna made us feel welcomed and took care of our every need. We will be returning with our whole family when we visit Munich again in the Spring!

Absolutely, absolutely excellent. We had the chefs tasting menu and the regular tasting menu with non-alcoholic pairings, and there's not a single dish that is not absolutely perfect. Ok maybe like, 0.5 dishes out of 12 is like 95% instead of 100% perfect but that's it. There really is a lot of thoughts and skill going into every dish and the non-alcoholic pairings. It's a perfect balance of tradition and modern creativity - nothing is too extra-ordinary, but everything is surprising in just the right way that makes you go "oh of course, that's so ingenious!" The meat is so masterfully done in that the rare steak doesn't taste a single wisp of raw bloodiness but full of tenderness, and the other well-done steak is miraculously juicy and tender. I have to say the fish is a little bit weak, but the lobster risotto is just an absolute treasure trove of intense umami. And the antipasti literally bombard your senses with mirages of flavours that are wildly different but makes an unexpectedly harmonious symphony - I had flights of Kandinsky's colours flashing in my head as I eat. What if Kandinsky was a chef rather than a painter. Ooooh and the mid-course sorbet was just a stroke of genius. I have never had the feeling before where I feel like the chef understands the food in exactly the same way I wish every chef does. And compliments of course also go to the waitstaff team too, lovely, helpful, pleasant, passionate about the food as much as everyone else on the team, very professional yet without making you feel all pent up. I simultaneously wish with all my heart they get a Michelin star that they deserve, and also mildly dreading it coz I don't want to compete table reservation with all the rich Müncheners... But I will sure be back for the business lunch set. And a la carte. And the asparagus menu.

Hello, condition was very nice, unfortunately the food was disappointing. the soup was good, the meat was nothing special and a large part was fatty and fish was just on top! didn't fit. Side dish of shocked spinach! the dessert wasn't for 18€ we're not coming anymore.

Unfortunately a joke for what is required here! The situation here is analogous to the industry. Everything is artificial. Hardly anything on the plate, strange combination. Instead of just good food! Here you know how to cook, but you get distracted from serving a proper plate! Too bad...

Very good restaurant, the service is top and we had a very good experience with excellent choice of recommended German red wine from Rheinland region and nice courses. The atmosphere is cool and the restaurant is in the very centre of the old city.

Very good and attentive cuisine, which can also be described as fine dining and stands out positively and qualitatively from the sometimes completely overpriced classic "upscale bourgeois restaurant" in Munich's city center. The service was also very attentive and yet discreetly unobtrusive. We had a 5 or 6 course menu and were thrilled; Just the thing for a special evening. Gladly again!

Food was good, service was mediocre and the drink accompaniment was actually a disgrace. In this price range, service should include proper cutlery and an appropriate explanation of the food. We simply paid €65 for four non-alcoholic drinks. Some of the drinks were under 100 ml, the kefir for the first course was around 50 ml, which is simply outrageous for a price of €16 per non-alcoholic (!) drink and really spoiled our experience quite a bit.

Great seafood, nice set dinner with a very friendly waiter who introduced us lovely wines. Had no idea this was local German food but we enjoyed all the dishes very much. Easy to locate. Nice ambience. Not any fault of the restaurant, but we were seated next to a family who kept looking over whilst we were eating which made it a little uncomfortable for us. Also they made comments and laughed every time I took photos of my food. (It is for memory’s sake and for me to remember the good restaurants so I can come back again next time- to each his own!)

I am reviewing this place for the excellency of their seafood. I am very picky about my seafood (freshness and the way it is cooked). This restaurant makes it to the perfection. On top of that, they have a selection of (quite old enough) vintage wines at reasonable prices.

Pretty good standard Bavarian meal in the city center. The atmosphere and service are great. The food was ok, nothing to shout about. If you want real Bavarian food go to Spatenhouse nearby. The duck breast though was well executed and they do have reasonably priced wine on offer.

Starters were mediocre, options on the main menu were very good

Located in the heart of the city, this restaurant stands out for its high quality, which is also reflected in its prices — higher than those of a typical restaurant in Munich. We started with the “Rehfilet” and “Kräutersaitling” as appetizers. While the taste was decent, the portions were notably small. For the main course, we chose the “Entenbrust” (duck) and the “Ochsenfilet” (veal). Both dishes were delicious, of exceptional quality, and generously portioned. Instead of wine, we opted for beer, as the wine prices were relatively high compared to other establishments. For two people, including the dishes mentioned, our total bill came to €165.

Very fine and elegant, food is great.

Until mid-2022, this establishment was a real joy for my wife and myself. The food, service and location were perfect. You just had to avoid Friday evenings and Saturday evenings when there are too many people because some people can quickly become noisy and ruin your evening. After this date, there were movements and some changes in pricing policies. Indeed, this restaurant has always been a little expensive but the quality was there, so no problem. But now, when you ask for advice on a wine by the glass, it is sold for €30 and you have a lot of deposit. And when you mention it to the waiter, he tells you that it's normal, and even his boss says the same thing. We tried again and the problem was the same again. So NO, we don't pay €30 for a glass of wine with a deposit! Also, some new waiters were certainly very good in taverns, but unfortunately they are not suited to this type of restaurant. For example, they are incapable of serving wine without leaving a few drops on the side and are a bit boorish. Unfortunately, a good part of the wait staff has been replaced, and it now seems that management is trying to maximize profits on drinks. Too bad but we won't go back there again.

Decent restaurant - the quality of the ingredients was nothing short of exceptional, with each dish showcasing the chef’s vivid imagination and playful artistry particularly with the foam. Recommend the wagyu beef. Their commitment to fresh, vibrant flavours coupled with service which was absolutely impeccable—attentive, warm, and perfectly timed. A thoroughly decent wine list plus a local beer on tap. What’s not to like?

A little slow service, the food was pretty good, especially the strudel, and a quiet atmosphere. Augustine beer.

This restaurant is a gem with friendly service and excellent food, which hints at 1 Michelin star in regards to quality and composition.

We had an unforgettable evening there last weekend. Took wine pairing for two and it was flawless from the beginning to the end. Thank you Christopher for having made our engagement evening an unforgettable one. We hope to see you all again in the future.

I had really lovely time. The courses are fantastic and all of them are delicious. Specially, non-alcohol paring drinks are very creative and I enjoyed them. The waiter was so friendly and polite, and entertained us. Danke😊

The waiter was the best waiter we had during our time in Germany. The food was well prepared and the caviar was fresh. This restaurant is great for a special occasion, and it was very good for sharing conversation within a small group. During our time in Munich, this stands out as the best restaurant experience we had. If you can only go to one place in Munich for dinner, this is the place to be.

The surprise of the year! How could we have overlooked this amazing restaurant for so long? Great cuisine, great service and the non-alcoholic food accompaniment was delicious, interesting and varied. We'll be back!

Disappointing experience. We had pretty high expectations and opted for the 6 course menu. When we arrived, despite having a reservation, we waited a long time until someone had time to speak to us. The first dish was a disgrace and we left half. The pasta was delicious but so salty that we had to take it back to the kitchen to make it again. The meat was nothing special and a lot of our dishes were fatty. Average dessert. The waiters are helpful and nice, but they're not really interested in hearing anything other than "It was great." Very expensive for what it offers. We regret the choice.

Our concierge suggested this restaurant and it was a great choice. We were 2 couples who 35 years ago met on our mutual honeymoons and have been celebrating every 5th anniversary since. This year we traveled to Munich. The restaurant was perfect for our last evening in Munich and celebrating our shared anniversary. Our waiter and restaurant manger were attentive and made great suggestions. The food was excellent. The outdoor table perfect, overall a great evening.

We have made a reservation for a party of 4 this afternoon. We ordered 3 dishes of fish. The prices would be totally value added if the food was good. The fish was not good at all, there was not any pattern on the quality of the fish, the drinks we ordered came after the food, and the staff was zero concerned in providing a good service or even wanting to know why all of us left more than half of the food on the plate. Plus our reservation was for the outside area, and we ended up in the inside. The feeling we had from staff was to leave the restaurant as soon as we could. Charging more than a 40 euros dish, treating us bad and not providing a minimum quality service, is just not acceptable.

Food was fairly good. The mains were solid and the appetizers were a bit too fancy but not as good. Overall though felt a bit expensive. Bathroom was also weirdly far from the restaurant. A good choice if you have the money and like steak. Sit outside if it is warm out

Sitting outside would be so lovely if it wasn’t for the constant flow of trucks making deliveries to the nearby shops and restaurants. Indoors is lovely!

Apparently the place is doing so well they’ve decided to treat their potential customers in a rude manner. We (3 of us and around 10 people behind) have been waiting quite long at the very entrance with many other people to be seated. Employees were just passing past us like we didn’t exist, no one has even gave us a look, let alone asked anything. When we finally asked a guy, who looked like a manager, if we can be seated, we were told it was impossible and they are closing for a break. When I calmly asked “why we and other people weren’t told right away there were no point to wait?” We received an extremely arrogant look and reply that is was on us to ask it. If you position yourself as a proper restaurant with rather high prices, this is not how you communicate with people. Yes, even if we are only tourists that you will never see again.

The food was exceptional, and the ambiance of the place is lovely. However, the service left much to be desired. We ended up waiting totally for aprox. 1.5 hours, having to remind the waiter to bring out the next course. Even after finishing a plate, there was a considerable delay before the staff checked in on us. I would suggest that the waitstaff be more attentive to the diners, as at times it felt like we were being overlooked.

Waiting staff was friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere, especially Ilir (I believe that’s how you spell it), lights on the table made for a nice atmosphere, wonderful food! Met some very friendly Icelandic people at a neighboring table. Will be returning.

Highly priced, but also very tasty! If you sit outside you will hear the Hotel Platzl's DJs playing until 8 p.m., but it's bearable. We chose the 6-course menu, which gave us enough time to enjoy and entertain ourselves. The service was very attentive and responsive to the guests' wishes. There are currently construction works going on inside, access to the toilets is only possible via many stairs in the Hotel Platzl. This can get better. Recommended for special occasions.

An upscale restaurant with rustic-classic charm that scores with fine cuisine and exceptionally attentive and courteous service. The portions for the lunch menu are rather small - a plus for those who want to enjoy themselves and not stuff themselves unnecessarily. For everyone who wants to stay away from the cell poison alcohol but still want to hold a nice glass in their hands, there is alcohol-free Prisecco from Geiger that really tastes good.

I'm rating only the service, not the food, as I did not have the opportunity to try it. I booked a table for 12 people (two reservations for 6 people each via the website, as the system did not allow booking for 12 at that time). I received email confirmation and called the restaurant to ask about the possibility of combining the tables and to arrange for one of the desserts to be served with candles, as we were celebrating a birthday. I was assured that there would be no problem with my request. Upon arrival, a staff member informed us that we could not order à la carte because our group exceeded 8 people. We were shocked because this information was not mentioned during the reservation process, on your website, or during my phone call with the restaurant. Furthermore, your website clearly states that the option to order from the set menu is available only after 5 pm (we had a reservation for 2:15 pm), without specifying any table size restrictions. Despite explaining to the staff multiple times that: • We were never informed about the set menu requirement, despite reviewing the reservation and table details over the phone. • The website does not clearly inform customers about this restriction. • We wanted to order à la carte because we did not have time for a set menu, as we had a concert later that day. • One of us was celebrating a birthday. • We had traveled a long way from Warsaw. • We would not be able to find another dining option in Munich before the Adele concert, given how crowded the city was. • We even suggested dining at two separate tables as smaller groups, which was not ideal but seemed the only way to eat on schedule. we had only option to order set menu or cancel the reservation. In my opinion, such behavior from the staff (arrogant and treating the customer as an adversary) in a restaurant of this level is unacceptable. I understand that mistakes or miscommunication can happen, but you blamed us for the situation and did not take any action to resolve it, all while showing visible displeasure at having to speak with us. This was especially painful for us as we lost a lot of time, did not get any food, and missed out on a special occasion.

On August 3, we had a reservation for 12 people. We came from Poland, two people could not arrive at the time specified in the reservation due to difficulties on the route. We were supposed to celebrate my goddaughter's 30th birthday. There were 10 of us at the restaurant, and it turned out that there were problems because there were supposed to be 12 of us, but there were ten. Moreover, due to the fact that we were the so-called group, we cannot freely choose from the menu what we want to eat that day, but the dishes are recommended to us by the restaurateur. But if we sit five people at separate tables, we will be able to choose the menu freely. I couldn't understand this. Especially since we were provided with completely different information during the reservation. Moreover, the man who stood at the entrance to the restaurant explained all these intricacies to us in a rather arrogant manner, preferably emphasizing "if you don't like it, leave." We gave up on this restaurant that day. Thank you very much for allowing me to take advantage of their hospitality. We came over 1000 kilometers away. We wanted to celebrate my goddaughter's birthday with her immediate family. Unfortunately, due to the above, I do not recommend it. Zero class service. I hope it's just my feeling.

Food was incredible, everything tasted delicious. Shared the chateaubriand with my wife and it was great. The service was next level. Our waiter was pretty much perfect, charming and attentive.

Mixed for this restaurant. We booked before going there and when we arrived the “chef d'hôtel”, not friendly by the way, seemed surprised to see us and we waited a while for our table.... Nothing to say about the dishes, they were really very good and very well presented... For the food and wine pairing on the other hand meh, the red especially was really not terrible and again I'm nice... We really expected better.... But congratulations to the kitchens, really great.

A restaurant that makes you think that Bavarian cuisine can be so sophisticated. It has a modern twist while using local ingredients. The portions aren't too big, and I've come to love this shop.

Wir waren zur Feier unserer standesamtlichen Hochzeit dort und haben ein 5 Gänge Menü bestellt. Unserem Wunsch, die Menükarten ohne Preise auszulegen, wurde ohne Probleme entsprochen. Essen und Service waren zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit, jeder Gast war happy. Einzig das Baugerüst am Gebäude hat dem Ambiente etwas geschadet. Wir kommen jedoch gerne wieder - egal ob das Baugerüst noch steht oder nicht!

We had a great dinner & enjoyed the refined Bavarian dishes made with seasonal produce. Apart from set menus (Vegetarian is available), the A La Carte offers a great choice of seafood & meat. The Rhubarb dessert was so great ! The wine list has a large choice of German, Italian, French & American wine. There are several dining rooms, all were full, so Book ! The service was sweet .

Vorspeise (Suppe) u. Service waren sehr gut. Leider war der Hauptgang enttäuschend. Die, für das Chateaubriand charakteristische Kruste fehlte gänzlich, ausserdem war das Fleich kalt. Empfehlung ja, aber mit Einschränkung!

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner! We each had soups for a starter, followed by fish entrees and then by dessert. Every course was absolutely delicious and the presentation of each dish was amazing. The service was impeccable!

Wirklich sehr gutes Essen in schönem Ambiente mit ausnehmend freundlichem Service. Kleine Einschränkungen: Vorspeise viel zu kalt, da aus dem Kühlschrank. Insgesamt sehr hochpreisig und laut (lag auch am Gewölbe, aber vor allem aber am Nebentisch).

The biggest disappointment was in the delivery of our meals. A table that was seated at least twenty minutes after us got their food before we did. The waiter tried to explain it as there was a large group that had come in about the same time as us and had slowed the kitchen down in getting out the meals. But that doesn’t sound good as it should have slowed the delivery for the other table as well. The food was excellent, the setting is very attractive. While the service wasn’t quite up to what we expected we would still come back for another meal.

The service is excellent. Service to guests is lived here. The Pfistermühle can compete very well with the star restaurants. The ambience is very nice and harmonious, but unfortunately also noisy. To eat. In short, the high price does not justify the quality and quantity of the course menu. The sorbet on champagne foam and the beef tartare were outstanding. Unfortunately the veal fillet falls off. At €400, including TG, I simply expect more.

We really enjoyed our dinner. Delicious food in a very nice environment. They had delicious vegetarian options and a good wine list. We would definitely go back.

A very cozy restaurant with fantastic cuisine. All the dishes were of outstanding quality, especially the Tuna Tataki was a poem. The dessert was also a crowning conclusion. The service was also very friendly. Markus, who was responsible for us that evening, gave us good advice on the choice of food and drinks. We will be back !

Top restaurant in Munich, worth a visit!

A culinary experience in a class of its own! The restaurant not only impresses with its charming ambience, but above all with the outstanding quality of the food. Every bite was a treat for the senses.

Such a lovely, intimate dining experience! From the fresh crusty bread at the start, to the delightfully fresh sorbet at the end, everything was delicious, well-portioned and beautifully presented. The ever-changing menu will draw us back to see what new delights we can sample. The staff is charming and skilled.

Der Besuch in der Pfistermühle wurde zu einem hervorragenden kulinarischen Erlebnis. Die Bedienung war ständig bemüht, das Gespräch mit uns aufrecht zu erhalten und unsere Wünsche von den Augen abzulesen. Die Qualität des gewählten Menüs übetraf unsere Erwartungen um das Mehrfache. Die Kreationen der Speisen sind mit der Kunst erfolgreicher Musiker und Maler vergleichbar. Restauranttester müsste man dort sein dürfen.

Great food, great service but not exactly cheap.

Essen gut wie immer, schade dass beim Portwein (1 . Flasche Zapfen) keine weitere Flasche mehr vorhanden war.

Grundsätzlich muss man das Essen loben, allerdings stehen die vegetarischen Varianten preismässig in absolut keinem Verhältnis zu denen mit Fleisch. Leider ist der Service aber nicht einmal ansatzweise auf dem Niveau der Speisen. Unaufmerksam und von oben herab hat man das Gefühl, dass man geduldet aber nicht geschätzt wird und man dankbar sein muss, etwas serviert zu bekommen. Das ist bei einem Restaurant dieser Preisklasse eigentlich indiskutabel und wird von den direkten Konkurrenten wie z.B dem Weinhaus Neuner um Längen besser gelöst. Schade!

A very nice atmosphere in the basement of a rustic building. The furnishings were rustic, but also modern and chic. Our waiter was simply great. The service was top. With humor and charm you were also happy to have a glass of wine. The food was also delicious. However, the price was a tad too high for our assessment (especially the linguine dish). Unfortunately, the acoustics were loud and you couldn't have a good conversation. However, that is the only negative point. We would love to eat there again at any time.
