GRAPES Weinbar in München

The wine tasted good, and the food was okay. However, I found the staff a bit rude and pushy, as if they were forcing me to either buy more or leave. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Since I wanted to reserve a large table for a bachelorette party, I emailed the manager in advance. The email communication with Ms. Darius was incredibly fast, very pleasant and she was extremely open about my ideas for the evening. So it was no problem to reserve the table for the entire evening or to decide on two of the four courses in advance and let the guests decide on the rest spontaneously. When we got there, Ms. Darius herself was there, managed our table and served us. She knew everything that was discussed and always contacted me if I had any questions. She and the other staff provided great service and were extremely attentive. It wasn't a problem that not everyone wanted a main course/dessert. She herself suggested that you could also order these courses to share. The food and wine were extremely delicious. Personally, I have no idea about wine, but some of the wine experts in my group said that the selection was great and that you could find something for all tastes. When my sister asked which was her favorite spot of her bachelorette party (we were on the road for a total of 5 days in two different cities and were lucky enough to have incredibly delicious food in every restaurant), she told me Grapes, which I think speaks for itself. I can only wholeheartedly recommend the wine bar. Everything discussed worked perfectly, the atmosphere in the store is super cozy, the food is very well balanced and the staff is incredibly friendly. Without question, we will definitely come back just like that and I would plan an “event” at Grapes again in a heartbeat. Plus you absolutely can't complain about the price-performance ratio. Thanks to the entire team for giving the entire group such a lovely evening.

Very chic and attractively designed wine bar with nice seating, a classic bar area and friendly, young staff. The same applies to the audience structure, which was very mixed and lively despite being an establishment attached to the hotel. All of the dishes were of extremely high quality, not only visually but also in terms of taste. The same applies to the extensive sparkling wine and wine list, so we left nothing to be desired, which was also due to the good and knowledgeable advice. The service was also extremely charming, pleasant, quick and, above all, very professional. In any case, I will be happy to come back soon, thank you for the lovely evening!

We had a completely successful evening. Great, cozy atmosphere. Plus delicious food and great wine.

Ended up here after bailing on a beer hall. Such a better choice for our last night in Munich. And very grateful for their walk in communal table. Cozy, sophisticated, warm atmosphere, with some great art. Looks like a nice patio in the summer too. Wine was unsurprisingly, great. The menu spanned a few cultures (some French, Spanish, and Mediterranean), but dishes from all were excellent. Cauliflower hummus and beef bourguignon were wonderful on a cozy cold night. Bread was a little too good. Service seemed a little slow/harried but it was a busy night, with a lot of people at the big centre table. No one seemed to mind hanging around too much. Would come back, and reserve one of the big couch-style bench tables.

Einer der besten Weinkeller Münchens, sehr gutes Essen und ein toller Service. Der Sommelier kennt sein Weine und berät sehrt gut.

It is a very nice restaurant. The service is very friendly, courteous and attentive. The wine selection is very large and there is something for every taste. A positive thing to mention is that you can taste the wine before it is poured. The food is also good, but not of the same quality as the wine. You can tell that the focus is on the wine selection - hence a star deduction. It should be noted that this is a high-priced restaurant. A good wine can be relatively expensive. Therefore, as a tip - pay attention to this when choosing. However, in my opinion it is always worth a visit based on the points mentioned.

The food is only secondary here, although the snacks are really tasty, the star guest is the wine list. The great team around Diego does a great job, despite all the hectic pace, they are always friendly, always attentive and incredibly competent. Always good for new and great experiences, no matter how often I come, there is always something delicious to discover. Keep it up, see you soon.

Our family of 7 spent Christmas Eve here, and could not have chosen any better. We had a fixed menu which was super delicious, maybe the best meal of our 10 day trip to Munich and Salzburg. The food, wine and beer were pleasing to all. The atmosphere was upscale and very cozy, with wonderful service the entire evening.

Insgesamt kann man fünf Sterne geben. Die Weinauswahl ist riesig und die Beratung ist sehr professionell. Service ist sehr angenehm und sorgfältig ausgesucht für die Weinbar. Die Speisen sind qualitative und äußerlich sehr einladend. Dem Tatar und Seviche fehlt etwas Pfiff.  Die Antwort von Personal darauf war allerdings nicht überzeugend und möcht ich hier nicht erwähnen.. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert für eine gute Wein,erfahrung und leichteres Essen . Bravo

After an hour of waiting to pay the bill, another nice surprise: the “greetings from the kitchen” that no one had ordered but was brought to share (basically a nice gesture) - was of course added to the bill. Creative, but not in the sense of customer orientation. So if you want bad service, surprises and spontaneous additional costs, this is the right place for you.

We were here for an evening with friends. Huge wine selection with great advice. The choice of food is limited but the food we ordered was excellent. It was really a highlight. The restaurant has very tight seating, but the atmosphere from the light to the fire is very cozy. Overall, a really great location! Recommended

They briefly explain the wines before serving them. 🔵It's nice to be able to buy wines by the glass so you can taste them. 🔵My review for the food is average: There were 3 types of cheese, 2 each, on the cheese plate. I think it's not enough. You need to order the bread separately The portion of tartar was small and did not have an intense taste. I've had better tartares. 🔵The atmosphere is warm and friendly. It has dim lighting. It also has a fireplace. You can come here to taste different wines, but the food side is weak.

Es war unfassbar laut, da vor uns am dem Community Table eine Gruppe von >20 Leuten war. Daher laut und voll weil die Gruppe natürlich hin und her gelaufen ist.

This wine bar was fantastic and very centrally located. Everything was priced well and we got to try a lot of wines from all over Europe.

This is a quaint little wine bar inside the Cortiina Hotel. The servers were very attentive and assisted with making excellent wine selections. The menu was somewhat limited but there was a good variety and everything was delicious!

One of the most important and best addresses in the city for wine expertise. Exceptional and large selection of “by the glass” wines. Very competent staff and fine cuisine. I always enjoy coming here when I'm in town.

The bar itself is good and the food is very tasty and fresh. What's really annoying, however, is the noise in the bar. You can hardly have a conversation and you're actually happy when the food is served quickly, you eat it and leave.

Explore the small streets and alleys, explore and search, and be inexplicably excited in this city. We walked to the beer garden and entered the bar in the alley. The first floor of Hotel Lux was full of people. The GRAPES Weinbar diagonally opposite was a temporary bar. I had two drinks each. My first drink was 2021 Tire-Bouchon - Domaine dOuréa, Rhône...7.50, E's first cup 2020 Lemberger Altenberg - Knauss, Wirttemberg... 16.50. Our second glass of 2014 Château La Croix Bellevue - Jean-Louis Trocard, Lalande-de-Pomerol... 9.50. The atmosphere is very good, 95% of the people are there, sitting two seats by the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking at the street view and chatting. Talking about Zalto's wine glass, one glass costs 2,500 oceans...

Very nice and helpful staff. Good food and good wines to go with it. The staff were very good at finding matches that suit everyone in the party. The traditional Flammekuche was delicious and the veal cooked to perfection. The chocolate cake was the fluffiest I've ever eaten, not nearly as powerful as they can be. The custard tasted homemade. The room is fresh and nicely decorated. I really recommend Grapes Weinbar and would love to come back!

Yesterday we spent a very nice evening at Grapes. We had the opportunity to try some wines. The wine list offers a wide selection, we limited ourselves to Austria. There are also some small snacks and tarte flambées. The service and advice from the sommelier were very good.

We were there again, this time on “Schnitzeltag”. In short, everything was great and we would be happy to come back.

my trusted place for good wine!

There aren’t that many special boutique hotels in Munich. This is one of them. So does his wine bar. A mild, warm summer evening invites you to relax in the garden of the Grapes wine bar. The very attentive staff selects a special place with us. The beer as an aperitif is a great concession to local customs. The mixed starters were awesome, the cheese variation was super tasty, the flame cuisine tasted like it was fresh from Alsace, the Iberico ham was almost a record. So it came several times... the antipasti variation of vegetables was a vegetarian highlight. Everything was rounded off by a wonderfully soft Chardonnay. For dessert lovers, the chocolate tart comes in handy, as does the crispy crumble mixture and the panna cotta blast at the end. What a chilled spot in this magnificent city.

Spontaneous Friday night visit. Elegant destination for wine enthusiasts, inside Cortiina hotel, in the heart of Munich Old City. Modern yet minimalist space with dimmed lights, with an intimate atmosphere that is very inviting for a glass or two. Menu offers a wide range of wines with small bites as well as proper dishes. Was not hungry, so went for asparagus soup, which I paired with a glass of delicate South-African Poffader — simply divine. Plus point: staff gladly accommodated our special requests to ensure the best possible experience. Will come again.

The service here is really very good, you always get information about the wines or recommendations if you express certain wishes. You can usually try it first before pouring it properly. The selection of dishes is clear, but fits. Unfortunately the quality here is not very high. The food is served on warm plates, but is only lukewarm itself. Sauces tasted artificially thickened. Despite the already high prices, the bread addition has to be paid extra. Even if the bread is from Julius Brantner, in my opinion everything has its limits. The wine prices aren't exactly cheap either. The overall ambience is actually nice, but every millimeter is used. The tables are very close together and the chairs are beyond uncomfortable. Unfortunately, there is no kind of feel-good atmosphere.

Dealing with the duration of the table reservation is borderline: There were three of us for dinner and the table was reserved online. When making the reservation it is indicated that the table is only available for 2 hours. When ordering food and wine it was clear that the table would generate significant sales. Includes starters, main course, dessert and a matching wine selection. At the same time, several two groups arrived at the neighboring table. A lot has already been written about the service here. Overall the service is good. For the price level, several things were very disturbing: - Permanent change of service staff at the table. Less than 2-3 minutes passed before some service employee stood at the table and poured something again. Since the tables are sometimes very tightly set (the three of us had a bistro table), strangers' arms or hands were constantly following us across our table, which repeatedly led to the conversation being interrupted because we had to constantly be careful not to spill something or get it on strangers Glasses or plates to come. - A service employee serves the majority of English-speaking guests. The constant change of service staff at the table leads to various misunderstandings: Refills were given even though there was no verbal request, and the German-speaking staff was irritated that the guests suddenly expressed their wishes in English. - At the end of the main course they really wanted to sell us another bottle of wine. We were open to it. At the same time there was a note that the table would only be available for 25 minutes. Here again the information about reservations. Alternatively, we could also move to one of the high tables, which were visibly all occupied. So the alternatives were: drink the bottle of wine in 25 minutes, or move to one of the unavailable high tables. No wine was ordered and no further sales were generated. Here comes the biggest point of criticism: The other groups of two next to us had ordered 4 glasses of wine and some an appetizer at the same time. It felt like there were no discussions about the availability of the table. For our group's sales, the service was simply too hectic, too sales-oriented (constantly asking and refilling) and dealing with guests, who contribute significantly higher sales, was a bit borderline. The food is delicious and there is something for every taste. Wine selection is excellent.

A cozy and stylish wine bar in the middle of the city. The wine selection is extraordinary, but quite expensive. The food was amazing, compared to the wine really affordable and the young team did a perfect service!!

Cool wine bar in the center of Munich near Marienplatz. The ambience and service is very good. The staff is very knowledgeable and courteous. The menu is small and fine. The quality of the food is also high, but it is very expensive for the larger portion. Overall the visit was great and I can highly recommend the bar. Reservations are definitely an advantage on the weekend, but not absolutely necessary during the week.

The time before last it was very loud and at the beginning there was strange loud music playing which doesn't suit a stylish wine bar, the clientele sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. Unfortunately the service has deteriorated so unbelievably! I really missed the young, lively Austrian sommeliers who really took their time and were incredibly discreet and at the same time attentive and well trained the last two times and I used to VERY appreciate them! The good wine advice and the good food were what made GRAPES special - back then the price-performance ratio was still ok. Now only the food is good and the new waitresses can't answer the simplest questions about the wine well, the boss has to be consulted, the staff is not attentive and requests when making a reservation are no longer honored. This is the second time in a row that I'm really disappointed and won't be coming back! When I asked whether an expensive gold earring had been found or whether I could please take a quick look at the original table or entrance (on the same evening!) there was only moderate response after my penultimate visit - I should inform the cleaning staff... It's a shame that the quality has deteriorated so much.

Das Grapes war mal fantastisch mit wirklich professioneller Weinberatung und tollem Essen, damals war das Preis Leistungsverhältnis noch ok. Jetzt kann die Bedienung die einfachsten Fragen zum Wein nicht gut beantworten, der Chef muss zur Rate gezogen werden, das Personal ist nicht aufmerksam und auf die Wünsche bei der Reservierung werden auch nicht mehr eingehalten. Das ist jetzt das 2. mal in Folge, dass ich wirklich enttäuscht bin und somit nicht mehr wiederkommen werde! Auch auf die Nachfrage hin, ob ein teurer Gold Ohrring gefunden wurde bzw. ob man bitte kurz für mich am ursprünglichen Tisch oder Eingang nachschauen könnte (am gleichen Abend!) wurde nach meinem vorletzten Besuch nur mäßig eingegangen - Man informiere das Reinigungspersonal… Schade dass die Qualität so nachgelassen hat.

Zalto glasses — all of them makes this place special for wine lovers in the city. They have special events with winemakers and sommeliers from other places, cities, countries, check their social accounts.

Im großen und ganzen ein netter Abend. Hätten uns vom Essen mehr versprochen. Käse war nicht temperiert, also gerade aus Kühlschrank. Beef Tatar hätte besser abgeschmeckt sein können. Das Brot war mein Highlight. Service war o.k. Absolut super war unser erster Kellner der uns in Empfang nahm und auch verabschiedete, super freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Andere Kellner waren da eher genau das Gegenteil und haben für keine harmonie oder Wohlfühlen gesorgt. Da meine Partnerin und ich beide aus der 5 Sterne Hotellerie und Sterne Gastronomie kommen können wir das gut einschätzen. Trotzdem danke für den am Ende netten Abend.

1. Kellner sprach ausschließlich englisch 2. Die Flasche! Weißwein kam in Zimmertemperatur. Darauf angesprochen meinte der Kellner er kann die offene Flasche auf Eis stellen. Nein, ich möchte nicht die ersten 2 Glöser Wein warm drinken und dann ne Stunde warten bis vielleicht das Eis den Wein gekühlt hat. Auf Bitten kam eine neue Flasche..genauso warm. Die Erklörung die wir bekommen haben.. Es gibt nur einen Kühlschrank, alle Weine haben die gleiche Temperatur.. Also beim Chef des Laden moniert. Siehe da, plötzlich gab es den Wein auch so kalt wie es sich gehört.. Die Weinbar ansich war gut besucht, was zur Folge hatte das Aufgrund der herrschenden Lautstärke ein normales unterhalten nicht mehr möglich war. Habe noch nie ein Restaurant, geschweige eine Weinbar erlebt, wo es so übertrieben laut war. Summasummarum fällt einem in Summe nichts mehr zu diesem Abend ein..nie wieder!

Service friendly and attentive. Extensive wine list. Unfortunately, prices for good bottles are significantly too high. Unfortunately, the percentage markup hardly changes from cheap bottles to expensive bottles. I find that incomprehensible - the restaurant earns €30 on a cheap bottle and €100 on a more expensive one. I'm not talking about mature vintages or sold-out or rare bottles (they have those too, and the surcharge may be justified), just "normal" stuff that I can buy online at any time. The calculation is probably - if you spend a (relatively) lot of money on an expensive bottle anyway, the high markup doesn't matter. In any case, this is a shame for wine lovers - no one likes to pay €120 for a €45 Riesling GG.

Attentive service and nice ambience. However, the wines are far too overpriced and you don't even get something to nibble on or olives to go with the overly expensive wine.

Servicekraft aufdringlich mit inakzeptablen Manieren, nicht professionell. Alle 3 Minuten das Wasserglas vollfüllen damit man schnell die nächste Flasche für nur 8-9 Euro bestellt, ist auffällig. Ich kenne Grapes auch anders.

Even though we had actually made our selection, we were convinced. Which was a mistake. The wine advertised was neither to our taste nor worth the very high price. A pity. Overall, the pricing is above average, especially since Grapes doesn't lose the hotel bar charm of the atmosphere. There has to be more to come to impress in the competition.

Super Weinbar die schönste in München! Toller Service!

It was a great choice for our Christmas celebration. Starters and main course were spectacular as same as service. Only issue was the cuisine hours, closing too early, considering our reservation time was 21h30 and they closed 22h30, not allowing us time for a dessert.

Food was excellent and our server gave us great recommendations.

Christmas Eve dinner with my husband and son, traveling from Washington DC. Everything in Munich was closed down. So glad we had this reservation. The room is small, but beautiful , warm and chic. more of a wine bar than restaurant (small tables more for wine sipping than eating but they made it work). The menu is limited but the food is delicious. Steak tartar. Beef Bourgogne, desserts . All paired with good wines. They were entry when we arrived and running a full house when.we left. No one rushing us out. Wines are priced from very affordable to a bit expensive but well chosen. Truly a lovely holiday dinner for my family. So happy we found them on Open Table.

Das Grapes ist mein zweites Wohnzimmer. Sehr gute Weinauswahl, abwechslungsreiche Speisenauswahl, unglaublich guter, freundlicher, familiärer Service. Jeder Besuch ist ein Genuß!

If you want a place with great atmosphere, delicious food and a wine list to die for, look no further. The place may be busy, but service is spot on and timely. The wine selection by the glass is very good, there is offer for all tastes and budget. The wine list by the bottle is great! I love that you can come here and eat late and enjoy great wine in a fine and hype lounge type setting. Warmly recommended.

The awesome, meticulous wine list clearly took years to out together. The food is excellent. And the service is even better. The proprietors know what they are doing and do it extraordinarily well.

Grapes is a lovely and cosy wine bar. The staff were wonderful in guiding us in selecting a wine and very attentive throughout the night. The Riesling we had was excellent. Although a little pricey, the experience was definitely worth it.

Mitten in der Münchner Altstadt, 3 Gehminuten vom Rathaus, Viktualienmarkt, Oper, Theater liegt diese Weinbar, die eigentlich ein Restaurant ist. Superfreundliches Personal, ein offener Raum rund um einen Kamin, eine kleine Bar - es ist wirklich sehr angenehm hier. Die Weine sind natürlich klasse und jeden Tag werden unter dem Stichwort "catch of the day" ein paar extraordinäre Flaschen aufgemacht. Ich liebe das Tartar, das hier serviert wird, kürzlich hatten wir auch ein ausgezeichnetes Bœuf bourguignon, nur die Lachsforelle war ein wenig trocken und langweilig. Der Cheesecake zum Schluss hat das aber wieder wett gemacht. Unbedingte Empfehlung.
