Restaurant Nymphenburger Hof in München

The Nymphenburger Hof is among the top tier of Munich restaurants in terms of quality. It offers a small but fine menu and a choice of three set menus, including wine pairings. We had one of the set menus to celebrate a birthday. The poached fig was a delight. It was served with goat's cheese. The brook trout melted in the mouth. I would have happily eaten the turbot with summer semester sauce twice. And the mille-feuille with marinated strawberries was the crowning glory. The wines paired perfectly with each course, making it a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The prices are absolutely reasonable for this quality.

The good food, the attentive and friendly service, and the wonderful ambience on the beautiful terrace made the evening at the Nymphenburger Hof a fantastic experience.

There were two of us here for dinner. The atmosphere is rather dignified and traditional. The service was great, not intrusive but always approachable and attentive. The food is good, but nothing exceptional. We had two starters, two mains, 2 sparkling waters and 1 dessert for just under €166. We found the prices to be significantly too high and the food lacked something to elevate it above an average good experience. In the end they charged €4.50 per person for a cover? This was neither communicated beforehand nor during it and then came as a very surprise. We don't understand what we paid 4.50 for here. All in all, a solid 7/10, the biggest drawback is the price-performance ratio.

My favorite restaurant in Munich 🤩! The portions are large enough to eat three courses. Just right. The quality is high, and the service is warm and attentive. I'd go back anytime! 🙏🙋‍♀️

Last night, my husband and I had dinner at the Nymphenburger Hof – it should have been a special, romantic evening, one we were really looking forward to. The atmosphere in the restaurant is truly beautiful: stylish and romantic. Unfortunately, the dining experience didn't live up to the ambiance. My husband opted for the four-course menu and was quite happy with it. I, on the other hand, only wanted a main course and wasn't in the mood for meat that evening. However, the regular menu only featured meat dishes. I was kindly offered a "signature dish" of scampi, which wasn't on the menu – which initially sounded promising. Unfortunately, the dish was a disappointment: The scampi were swimming in a sticky sweet and sour sauce that overpowered any flavor. We returned the dish. As a replacement, I received sole with spinach and potatoes. But this dish was also disappointing – dry, oversalted, and overall rather mediocre. I was all the more surprised when this dish appeared on the bill at €49. In my opinion, this price was unjustified in terms of both taste and presentation. I would have expected at least a partial waiver or a reduction in the price of the dish – that would have been a sign of goodwill. To finish off, we shared a crème brûlée – the taste was okay, but again, there was nothing refined or special about it. Overall, the evening was disappointing for us. The beautiful location alone couldn't save the culinary experience. My dissatisfaction with the food – and the high price for a dish I could barely enjoy – unfortunately noticeably dampened the mood. The ambiance deserves points – but in our opinion, there's still plenty of room for improvement in the food and service.

Gestern Abend waren mein Mann und ich im Nymphenburger Hof zum Abendessen – es hätte ein besonderer, romantischer Abend werden sollen, auf den wir uns sehr gefreut hatten. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist wirklich schön: stilvoll, ruhig und stimmungsvoll. Wir saßen draußen im Innenhof, was den Start in den Abend sehr angenehm machte. Leider konnte das kulinarische Erlebnis mit dem Ambiente nicht mithalten. Mein Mann entschied sich für das 4-Gänge-Menü und war damit sehr zufrieden. Ich hingegen wollte lediglich eine Hauptspeise und hatte an diesem Abend keine Lust auf Fleisch. Auf der regulären Karte fanden sich jedoch ausschließlich Fleischgerichte. Freundlicherweise wurde mir daraufhin ein „Signature Dish“ mit Scampi angeboten, der nicht auf der Karte stand – das klang zunächst vielversprechend. Leider war das Gericht eine Enttäuschung: Die Scampi schwammen in einer klebrigen Süß-Sauer-Soße, die jeglichen Eigengeschmack überdeckte. Wir ließen das Gericht zurückgehen. Als Ersatz erhielt ich eine Seezunge mit Spinat und Kartoffeln. Doch auch dieses Gericht konnte nicht überzeugen – trocken, versalzen und insgesamt eher durchschnittlich. Umso überraschter war ich, als dieses Gericht mit 49 Euro auf der Rechnung stand. Geschmacklich wie auch in der Präsentation wurde dieser Preis aus meiner Sicht nicht gerechtfertigt. Ich hätte erwartet, dass das Gericht zumindest teilweise erlassen oder reduziert wird – das wäre ein Zeichen von Kulanz gewesen. Zum Abschluss teilten wir uns noch eine Crème Brûlée – geschmacklich in Ordnung, aber auch hier keine Raffinesse oder Besonderheit. Insgesamt war der Abend für uns enttäuschend. Die schöne Location allein konnte das kulinarische Erlebnis nicht retten. Meine Unzufriedenheit mit dem Essen – und der hohe Preis für ein Gericht, das ich kaum genießen konnte – haben die Stimmung leider merklich getrübt. Für das Ambiente gibt es einen Punkt – aber in der Küche ist aus unserer Sicht noch viel Luft nach oben.

What a wonderful oasis in the middle of the city. Hidden away is this little paradise with outstanding, fresh cuisine and such attentive service that you immediately feel at home and forget the worries of everyday life.

An evening full of enjoyment at the Nymphenburger Hof – our fine dine experience Sometimes it's the coincidences that lead to the most beautiful experiences. Without the “Fine Dine” offer, we, three couples looking for a special culinary experience, would probably never have gotten to know the Nymphenburger Hof in Munich. Admittedly, the pictures on the website didn't really convince us at first. But what we experienced that evening was a completely successful surprise - and a pleasure at the highest level. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted and escorted to our table. A charming gesture that immediately created a pleasant atmosphere. The menu offered a successful selection of sophisticated dishes - each of us quickly found our personal favorites. And it became clear from the first course: people cook with passion here. The quality of the ingredients, the harmonious composition of the flavors and the appealing presentation were convincing across the board. The service was attentive throughout the evening but never intrusive – just the right mix of professionalism and warmth. A very special surprise was the musical background of the evening: a pianist provided an additional highlight with live music and gave the ambience an elegant touch. Our happy and sociable group obviously felt comfortable - and we hope that our exuberant mood wasn't too loud. But when guests experience a restaurant with so much enthusiasm, then that is probably the best compliment you can give the host. At the end of the evening, when Andreas Derler personally handed us our jackets and thanked us for this wonderful evening, one thing was certain: this was certainly not our last visit to the Nymphenburger Hof. A real insider tip for all gourmets and connoisseurs in Munich!

It was our first time there and we were warmly welcomed by the owner. Our service was nice but a bit too pushy. The food was very good, but the portions were a bit small for our taste. What was unexpected was the charge for two covers at 4.50 each and different prices between the menu on site, on the internet and on the bill.

Good atmosphere with tables close together, which promotes communication with the neighboring tables - if you like that. Nice and attentive hosts. The food is good with an Austrian accent. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. It's clearly overpriced. Example: A glass of Zweigelt for 15 euros. A drinks menu is not served. An extra 4.50 euros is charged per guest - why and why is not mentioned anywhere. More transparency and appropriate pricing would be appropriate.

We had the entire restaurant to ourselves for a private party and enjoyed the wonderful food, excellent service and the piano available. I particularly enjoyed the fried chicken with potato cucumber salad, others loved the scampi röstl. Plus the excellent wine - despite plenty of enjoyment, no regrets the next day.

No frills at a high level. Truffled pasta with fried porcini mushrooms: Firm to the bite with a browned crust, such mushrooms are pan art. Be careful of the scampi röstl in the pan: risk of addiction. And if you have weight problems, you should take plenty of Postit notes with you and stick them over the curd dumplings on the dessert side. One wish remains: May Mr. Derler stay healthy and continue the warm service with his team.

Our special restaurant for wonderful moments for two. Especially the small garden with the great brass furniture, the excellent staff, especially Martina, and the food to die for. We Love the Place amidst the plants, lights and candles. A magical place!!

La comida era muy buena, ciertamente, pero me molestó la forma en que hicieron su dinero en nosotros. 2 x tuberías de pescado eran 44 euros cada uno - caro, pero está bien. El pescado era bueno, así como los lados. Pero no espectacular. Sin embargo, el "vino rosa" sin mostrar un menú de vino cuesta 16 euros por copa, que es probablemente el vino más caro que he tomado sin poder elegir. Y luego había 2 x 4 , 5 "cobro de cobertura" de la UE en la factura. Lo sé desde Italia, pero en Alemania nunca lo he visto, y mucho menos para un restaurante tan caro. En mi pregunta el propietario incluso se enojó - que sería el caso en Alemania durante 40 años. ¿En serio? No donde vivía. La ira al final teñía nuestra experiencia, por lo demás aceptable, innecesariamente. Así que en total: buena comida, pero un poco dudoso precio / tácticas de cobro.

Extremely good food for prices that are definitely okay for this class of restaurant. 30€ for a 3 course lunch menu is not much for this restaurant. I like it a lot, I always come back and will continue to do so!

I give this restaurant all stars because the food was really outstanding. And I was looked after very lovingly by a man, probably the owner. But at the very beginning I was greeted very unfriendly by a younger lady and actually wanted to leave. It's just a coincidence that I stayed. I arrived at 1:00 p.m. and she claimed I was a late guest who would cause stress and gave me a spot at the front door even though the entire restaurant was vacant. She talked extremely friendly to all the other tables, but she didn't say a single word to me. The owner treated me very kindly, for which I am grateful. However, I felt like a second-class guest the whole time, even though I had ordered an expensive menu. Despite the great food, I'm not sure if I'll be back.

The two of us had dinner at the Nymphenburger Hof restaurant. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio was not at all appropriate. In comparable restaurants you can get higher quality dishes for a much cheaper price, which are also prepared to please the eye. For the starter we decided to share a salad for €19. We also told the service staff this. She was then asked whether she should “spread the salad on two plates.” In retrospect, this “division” no longer cost us €19 but a whopping €33. We were not informed of the surcharge. If we had known that, we wouldn't have done it. Instead, we could have had two salads and only paid €5 more. After we saw it on the bill and politely asked the waiter, he justified it by saying that "it's always like that and there's no other option". For the main course we had a relatively small fish and potato gratin, which was gratinated with a little sauce and cheese. The look and a certain sophistication in the taste were missing here. In my opinion, the gratin was visually and taste-wise comparable to a gratin from an Italian restaurant around the corner, only a little smaller. We couldn't understand the price of €35. The cover cost an additional €4.50 per person. We didn't know this in advance either and we only found out about this when we received the invoice. It's a shame about the first impression the restaurant left with us. Especially because we were really looking forward to it beforehand. We cannot recommend the restaurant and will not come back.

Superküche mit österreichischen Touch. Nicht billig, aber jeden Euro wert

Es ist wirklich ein schönes Lokal und das Essen war wirklich extrem lecker und meiner Meinung nach auf sehr hohem Niveau. Ein wenig mehr Platz hätte der Sache gut getan, aber das ist wirklich kein Anlass zur Kritik. Was man jedoch aus meiner Sicht kritisieren kann, dass es den Posten Coperto (Servicegebühr) gibt und man darauf keineswegs hingewiesen wird, was übrigens auch in Deutschland absolut unüblich ist. Wir haben daher nochmals Trinkgeld gegeben. Spätestens hier hätte man noch einen kleinen Hinweis geben können. Ich finde das in einer gehobenen Küche schwach.

Wir haben sehr gut gegessen in schönem Ambiente. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und es gibt nichts zu beanstanden. Ein Feinschliff könnte noch gemacht werden, so dass beispielsweise der Tisch nicht wackelt. Wurde umgehend behoben, wäre halt noch schöner, wenn das vorher schon geprüft worden wäre. Alles in allem kann ein Besuch im Nymphenburger Hof empfohlen werden.

Sir wollte endlich wieder einmal einen schönen Abend zu zweit erleben. Und tatsächlich ein voller Erfolg. Beigetragen hat vor allem der äusserst freundliche Empfang, der exzellente Service , das hervorragende Esssen und das wundervolle Ambiente im Garten. Ruhe und wunderschönes Ambiente im Garten trotz Nähe zur Nymphenburger Straße . Der Service ist herausragend, gediegen und dennoch familiär. Speisen und Getränke waren exquisit. In meinem Menü gab es zum Hauptgericht Fenchel in einer Güte zubereitet, die seinesgleichen sucht!

Im Nymphenburger Hof kann man wirklich sehr gut essen, die Bedienung war sehr nett und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Das was wir gegessen haben war einfach nur sehr lecker! Das Almochsenfilet war wirklich super gemacht! Vielen Dank,es war einfach klasse!

Die gemütliche, von üppigen Pflanzen bewachsene Terrasse ist eine Wucht und transportiert einen sofort in ein mediterran anmutendes Urlaubsparadies. Der Service ist überaus aufmerksam, agiert für mein Empfinden aber eher reserviert, wenn man kein augenscheinlicher Stammgast ist, Die Portionen und Abstände zum nächsten Gang eignen sich perfekt für einen ausgiebigen Schmaus. Das Preis-Niveau ist relativ hoch angesetzt, wird aber den Qualitäten gerecht. Innen ist es etwas altbacken, für einen romantischen Abend würde ich den nicht zu eng gestellten Außenbereich vorziehen.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal im Nymphenburger Hof, obwohl wir schon immer in München leben. Das Lokal wurde uns wärmstens empfohlen und wir wurden überhaupt nicht enttäuscht. Wir waren zu viert und hatten Thunfisch Carpaccio, Avocado Salat, Lammkoteletts und für uns ein Highlight: Nierchen in einer herausragenden Senfsauce. Alles war sehr lecker, sehr schön angerichtet und der Service wunderbar zuvorkommend und freundlich. Unser Hund war auch willkommen. Wir kommen ganz bald wieder……

Das Preis- Leitungverhältnis stimmt nicht. Die Portionen sind klein, dafür viel zu teuer. Wir hatten ein Angusfilet mit einer halben Bratkartoffel, Spinat und 3 kleinen Rosenkohlstücken . Das Fleisch waren 2 ca. 5mm dicke Scheiben Fleisch, zusammen in der Größe eines 5 Euroscheinsfür 44€. Bei diesem Preis wurde noch pro Gedeck 4,50@ verlangt. Der Gipfel war ein dreiviertel volles Weinglas mit Bier für 5,50€. Das war unser erster und letzter Besuch dort.

Sehr angenehmes Restaurant mit gehobener leckerer Küche und einem super freundlichen Wirt. Nichts „Abgehobenes“- man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Richtig ist, dass die Preise durchaus gehoben ist , aber Qualität darf auch mal was kosten ,- macht man ja nicht jeden Tag .

Ausgezeichnetes Essen und toller Service. Wir waren mit einem Gutschein aus unserer „Fine Dine“ Box heute im Restaurant Nymphenburger Hof essen. Wir haben uns drei Gänge von der Karte ausgesucht. Es gab frischen Brot und sehr leckeren Aufstrich dazu zum Einstieg. Als erstes kam dann ein Gruß aus der Küche, der schon gutes vermuten ließ. Die Speisen waren alle auf den Punkt zubereitet. Alle Komponenten geschmacklich perfekt abgestimmt. Man hat sich vorzüglich um uns gekümmert, die Gläser wurden immer aufgefüllt und man ist immer auf Fragen und Wünsche eingegangen. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend und werden gerne wieder kommen. Preislich bewegt sich das ganze im guten oberen Bereich, aber es ist einen Besuch auf jeden Fall wert!

The experience from entry to entree through to pudding could not be faulted. It's not often I praise German cuisine, because - with respect, it's often good but not inventive or innovatively good. This restaurant broke the mould. The initial friendly welcome (not unusual in good German restaurants) continued through to dinner service. The staff spoke English well - and out table spoke no German - so it was wonderful to have the choices explained clearly, concisely and for all questions to be answered without fuss or fluster. The food which followed - and the wines - did not disappoint. Whether the fish or meat course, all were well cooked and wolfed down. The desserts were not wildly adventurous but they were delicious. They were representative of the Munich region, which is always nice. For me, it was the wine pairings that made the meal even more enjoyable as well as the staff who were efficient and warmly welcoming rather than servile. It really set the tone for a lovely meal.

Das Essen war ein Traum ,die Weine ,Aperitif ,Digestif Top ,das Ambiente wunderschön und das Service -Team war hervorragend ,herzlich und persönlich ,dass alles zusammen hat uns einen perfekten und unvergesslichen Abend werden lassen . Seit Jahrzehnten bin ich Gast im Nymphenburger Hof, meist mit meiner Frau und oft in größerer Runde mit Freunden und Bekannten – dieses Mal wohl zum letzten Mal. Um andere Personen vor ähnlichen Erlebnissen zu bewahren, hier mein aktueller Erfahrungsbericht: In der vergangenen Woche ist für mich bedauerlicherweise die Situation eingetreten, die sich aufgrund der rasanten Preiserhöhungen der letzten Zeit schon angekündigt hatte: das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis (Preis steigt, Qualität sinkt) klafft inzwischen unerträglich, verbunden mit holprigem Service und fragwürdigen Verkaufsmethoden. Es begann damit, dass für 4 Gäste nur 3 Speisekarten gebracht wurden. Eine falsch servierte Vorspeise wurde mir dann nach Diskussion und erster Ratlosigkeit doch wieder unter der Nase weggerissen. Weiter wurden Tagesgerichte außerhalb der Karte - Lamm-Karree und Karree vom Iberico-Schwein - empfohlen, die wir auch bestellten und nur mehr sprachlos waren, als diese mit je knapp € 40,00(!) - € 38,50 beziehungsweise € 39,50 - auf der Rechnung standen. Die Gerichte waren in Ordnung, jedoch nichts Besonderes, überschaubar und ohne irgendeine Raffinesse. Auch bei den 2 vorangegangenen nicht irgendwie besonderen Vorspeisen - dünn aufgeschnittene Tomate, geröstete Reherl, Parmesan - Gänge aus dem Gourmet-Menü, die dann als Tages-Gerichte zu je € 19,50(!) auf der Rechnung standen, ist eine Verhältnismäßigkeit nicht spürbar. Als ich eine Flasche eines mir bekannten Rotweines - zu einem Preis in der Größenordnung von € 50,00 in meinem Hinterkopf - bestellte, erklärte mir der Kellner, ich müsse unbedingt den M1 von Markowitsch probieren. Sicherheitshalber warf ich vor der Bestellung einen Blick in die Weinkarte, wo dieser Wein mit € 130,00 aufgeführt ist. Hier fühle ich mich nicht mehr gut beraten, sondern es kommen sehr ungute Gefühle auf. Die nächste große Überraschung war der neue Preis von € 72,00 für eine Flasche Schilcher Sekt auf der Rechnung, womit man sich schon der unteren Champagner-Region annähert. Und auch hier kommt bei einem Aufschlag gegenüber dem Ladenpreis – Faktor etwa 4,5(!) - ebenfalls kein gutes Gefühl auf. Zwei Gerichten aus meinem Menü – Eismeergarnelen mit Petersilienpüree und Safran sowie Gebratene Gänseleber mit Quitte und Brioche - fehlte jedes interessante Geschmackserlebnis, sie waren so langweilig, dass ich mir diese Gerichte sicher kein zweites Mal mehr bestellen würde. Als schließlich noch der Kellner seinen widerlichen Zigarettendunst über unseren Tisch haucht, sind wir am unerfreulichen Höhepunkt des Abends – der Rechnung für diesen Nepp - angekommen. Da unsere Begleiter unsere Gäste waren, und ich mir die Stimmung nicht völlig verderben lassen wollte, habe ich am Abend auf Diskussionen dazu im Lokal verzichtet und habe den aus meiner Sicht überzogenen Rechnungsbetrag bezahlt. Fazit an dieser Stelle: kein Preis und schon gar nicht die € 541,-- für einen so vermiesten Abend für 4 Gäste sind hinnehmbar.

Ambiente im Garten nach wie vor ansprechend. Das Essen enttäuscht. Weine zu teuer. Der Nymphenburger Hof war lange eine gute Adresse für ein tolles (Geschäfts)Essen, ob mittags oder abends. Wir haben das Lokal nach dem Corona-Lockdown besucht und vielleicht hat der (neue??) Koch seine Form noch nicht gefunden. Einige Beispiele: Gebratene Steinpilze sind keine sautieren Steinpilze - hier erwarte ich Röstaromen. Wenn Pinienkerne auf der Karte stehen, sollten sie auch auf den Teller kommen. Und die Variation von der Rehkeule war ein perfekt rosa geratenes Reh-FILET (also de facto eine Variation von Reh)allerdings mit einem staubtrockenen Ragout, das nicht nur einmal wiederaufgewärmt wurde. Für Vorspeisen um die 20 Euro und Hauptspeisen um die 35 Euro erwarte ich einfach mehr. Der günstigste Riesling (Dornleiten von Nigl / Kremstal) kostet 49 Euro die Flasche. Nach wie vor ist der Gastgarten gepflegt und die Tische haben Abstand (das hatten sie schon immer) und man sitzt sehr schön, aber insgesamt ein etwas enttäuschender Abend.

Wir sind sehr, sehr positiv beeindruckt! Wir haben day 4 Gänge Menü bestellt und alle Speisen waren absolut hervorragend. Die Protionen sind sehr passend im ihrer Größe. Das Preis-Leistungs-Vehältnis ist sehr gut. Insbesondere waren wir auch sehr begeistert vom herausragenden Service und dem tollen Personal. Wir warnen mit 2 kleinen Kindern (2 Jahre und 5 Monate) im Restaurant und wurden außerordentlich herzlich empfangen und behandelt. Das ist keine Selbstverständlichkeit. Großartiges Restaurant, gerne wieder!

Wir haben jetzt schon zweimal to go bzw. zu liefern bestellt und sind vollends zufrieden. Unsere Vorstellungen wurden sogar noch übertroffen. Hervorragend vorbereitet - leicht zu Hause zu erwärmen. Gute Anleitung. Klasse Essen: Wir hatten u.a. den Almochsen - wirklich ausgezeichnet - das Fleisch auf den Punkt gebraten - leicht rosa. Super leckere Sauce dazu. Ein anderes Mal hatten wir einen leckeren Fisch mit Steinpilzrisotto - auch phantastisch. ebenso die Feigen mit dem alten Balsamico und das Tatar. Auch die Nachspeisen sind mega. Creme brûlée & Co. Die Portionen sind sehr gut. Damit bekommt man auch die Männer satt.Also wir können alles uneingeschränkt sehr empfehlen.

Looking for a place for dinner with business colleagues and saw this was recommended and so glad we did. The hosts were fantastic and happily translated the menu to English for us. I went with lovely beef carpaccio with scallop, a fabulous fried zander fish with mash and then couldn't resist the enormous creme brulee. Although not cheap I would definitely recommend this place.

This is just an excellent restaurant. I have there a few times and the quality and service is just perfect. I had scampi as a starter followed by saddle of venison. Service was as you could expect, focused and friendly. This place is highly recommendable.

We had a great evening with friends in this excellent restaurant. We picked the four course menu and all dishes where super yummy. We opted for a bottle of sauvignon blanc by Potzinger as well as a fantastic red cuvee called Imperial by Schloss Haupturn. Great recommendations! The awesome host Andreas made sure we enjoyed every minute. A super knowledgeable guy, all his suggestions were spot on. If you are looking for great food, great wine with a dedication for detail I can highly recommend a visit.
