WACA Restaurant in München

We sat down close to closing time and almost immediately saw three mice running around. Ive never seen something like this in my life. I saw that someone posted about mice in the neighboring restaurant, Bacio, recently as well. I do not recommend anyone eat at this location!

Today I had the best nigiri of my life! The crispy otoro nigiri was absolutely out of this world. Every other dish I ordered was excellent as well. It made for a truly enjoyable evening on my last day in General. The restaurant is located inside Motor World under Ameron hotel.

We had an amazing dinner! Quite surprised about the price when we arrived (our mistake, we didn’t check), but worth every penny! We had a steak and some dessert. The mochi was extensive with five different, rare flavours and the crème brulee was amazing as well.

It's definitely worth one or more visits! Important: We had several dishes because they're always small, and there aren't many large portions... the last 8 or so dishes would be larger main courses. Just try and try everything, even if you come often, because the food is delicious. The quality, the ambiance, and the service are top-notch! We're happy to pay more if everything is perfect, and it was. Ambience: Modern, chic, cool place... simply a stylish lounge look! It's currently quite modern with velvet, wood, and everything dark, keeping it cozy. I love it! Service: Super friendly and incredibly competent! They explained everything about the food and what was in it. However, I wished that when I unsuspectingly ordered my last large main course, the waiter could have pointed out to me that the fries would have been unnecessary 😐 after all, I thought they were all just small plates. So, unfortunately, I only ate 4 or 5 of the sweet potato fries, and we had to throw the rest away... such a shame!!! My glass of wine was barely empty when it was already full again, as the drinks were immediately poured. The wine sommelier was also super nice. I ordered a late harvest wine, which is quite sweet in case you didn't know that, so he immediately came up with an alternative. But since I'm very familiar with late harvest wine and I really like it, I was happy with my choice and went for the sweet wine. They also gave me a story about late harvest wine. I thought it was great to have learned something new 😄 I also thought it was really sweet that if I was cold, I should just let me know and we would have a table with our own fan heater! Food: I didn't take photos of the first two appetizers... which was annoying, but they were also great! I hope I can still get the names right 🤣 The small courses: Salmon Tataki > Super delicious with the ginger, really good with it... Nasu Miso > Deep-fried eggplant cubes, very tasty, also works well as a side dish to a larger meat dish. Unfortunately, there was a bit too much coriander on some bites for me. Tuna Sashimi Pizza > Asian pizza, also extremely good and flavorful, I hadn't imagined it would be anything but. Beef Kushiyaki > A must-try, I'll definitely order it again, it was really good with the fries and something else that was enough! Mini Wagyu Burger > 🍔 The burger is really mini mini mini... I had imagined it to be bigger, but it's okay😅 It tasted amazing... the meat was really super juicy, and when you bit into it, the juice and sauce ran down your fingers, just like you imagine a great burger should! This burger is also a must-try for a small appetite, perhaps with fries on the side it would be a perfect portion. The larger portions: Pull over a la Bras > This is a large dish with quinoa... there were avocado pieces hidden in the quinoa, which I found a bit unnecessary, but okay, with a small appetizer and you're already full. That is, me. Short Rib BBQ > The meat was so incredibly tender! It literally fell off the bone and tasted like a good, long-marinated goulash soup, incredibly good!!! 🤤 The dish basically consists only of the meat on top of the sweet potato puree. If you're really hungry, you should definitely order a side dish or choose an appetizer. Overall, I hope I explained everything well. I've also attached the receipt so you can see we're talking about high prices here... the quality of every dish was excellent, and we were happy to pay more for it! Conclusion: We'll be back...

The WACA is an excellent restaurant if you want gigantic, unusual food. The prices are certainly high, but the quality is very good. We were a large group, and Stepan did a brilliant job providing us with everything we needed. Very attentive and friendly!

We arrived at the restaurant, were asked if we had a reservation, and were seated. We arrived by chance, not knowing the restaurant's standard or prices, considering it was an average restaurant for a quick dinner and to catch the pre-match activities. However, the restaurant's location, the road leading to it, and the factories didn't make it look like it was a high-end restaurant 🤣 Orders: 1 - Mini Taco 🌮 Chicken: Rating: 10/10, the tastiest taco you'll ever taste. 2 - Mini Wagyu Burger 👌: No mistake, no better than it 10/10 3 - Steak: Artist 👌 9.5/10 Checklist: 132 Euros Overall Rating: 9.5/10 They lowered the rating because they made a mistake bringing 2 tacos when we ordered 1. They apologized, but when we asked them to return it, they said no, it's okay, so they wouldn't count it on the bill. But they counted it now. Be careful, they might have a language problem, but it's good that they made a mistake bringing 2 because it was gone in two bites 😁👌

The food was outstanding: delicious, creatively presented, and of the highest quality in every respect. The ambiance was also impressive – stylish, cozy, and designed with great attention to detail. The service was absolutely first-class: attentive, professional, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. You felt welcome and well looked after from the very beginning. Of course, all this comes at a price – it's not cheap. But given the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere, the price is justified. In conclusion: If you value fine dining, this is the place for you. Expensive – yes. But absolutely top-notch!

2.5 stars for good food that doesn't offer the right price/performance ratio We went to Waca last month with several people. The interior ambiance is nice, the staff was friendly. The menu isn't particularly extensive, but the restaurant is also more specialized. The noise level was a bit higher, but within reason. So far, it was great. After ordering, we waited well over an hour for the food; people were getting really hungry. The restaurant was about half full overall, meaning it wasn't at capacity. The food wasn't brought out all at once, but rather little by little. This meant that most of us couldn't eat together (three had ordered a little later, so I excluded them). The taste was good, the portions were small (I would describe the burgers as "micro"), and the prices were high. Some found it exorbitantly expensive, but a quick look at the menu beforehand helps here – anyone who was surprised by that simply wasn't reading. However, for me, the value for money isn't right either, so I can only give it 2 stars specifically for that. On top of that, the staff left us alone. It was difficult, for example, to order more drinks. And again: the restaurant was by no means full; in fact, it was getting emptier, and in our opinion, there wasn't a shortage of staff either. Whatever the reason, it wasn't that great for us, and thus our last visit. I wish everyone else who still prefers Waca to the many alternatives a pleasant stay.

Very nice trip, very good food, very nice ambience, all around, a successful evening

After this restaurant received such good reviews, I thought we'd go there! Unfortunately, we can't share this review. We went there with our children, but unfortunately, they don't really have any food for small children, and the staff was very inflexible in that regard. We had to wait forever for the food. Overall, we were very dissatisfied and paid a lot for it!

The food was really very good 👍 But... the service was terrible. Despite asking, I didn't get a wine list, I was given some of the wrong dishes, and I didn't get my side dishes until I was finished. I had just told the waiter that I was finished eating and didn't need the side dish anymore... to which I was met with a rude "No, they're already in the fryer," and then another five minutes later, without an apology, he brought them to me. The fact that you have to get up to pay and trudge to the cash register yourself in such an expensive restaurant is the last straw. Especially since he tried to foist the wrong dishes on us. I passed on the espresso when I saw the waiter fiddling around with the coffee beans with his unwashed hands. There was no polite goodbye at the end, let alone someone holding my jacket. With staff like that, you can easily keep customers away. Greetings to the outstanding chefs who know their craft.

We were at La Waca in the afternoon and tried our way through the menu – small portions, but overall, the taste was quite good. Unfortunately, one dish was completely off, so we sent it back. We were still charged in full without anyone asking or providing any feedback from the kitchen – a shame, as we would have expected a bit more professionalism. The service was friendly, but the rest of the team seemed rather bored and unattentive. We quickly spent €170, but unfortunately, we left the restaurant with a bad feeling.

We are used to eating in the best restaurants in Munich. Our visit to the Waka was all the more disappointing. The quality of the food was at most 60-70%, while the prices were completely exorbitant. 11 euros for a bottle of water and over 25 euros for a small glass of wine? The price-performance ratio is simply not right here. There are significantly better alternatives in Munich for this quality and location. We would not recommend the Waka.

To celebrate my 60th birthday, we chose the WACA restaurant in Motorworld Munich - and it was the best choice we could have made! With 19 guests we experienced an evening that was outstanding in every respect. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed and immediately impressed by the stylish and modern atmosphere. The furnishings combine elegance with a touch of exclusivity without appearing intrusive - the perfect setting for a special occasion that we were able to celebrate in a separate area. The food was very good. Every single dish was prepared with attention to detail, perfectly flavored and beautifully presented. From the starters to the main courses, everything was of the highest quality and a true taste experience. We were allowed to bring our birthday cake for dessert. The jazz musicians we hired were able to perform for us without any problems. But not only the food, but also the service was exceptional. The entire team was attentive, friendly and highly professional. I would particularly like to highlight Ms. Christina Wöppel, who accompanied us from preparation to the event in a very professional and very friendly manner. Despite the size of our group, we felt well looked after without it becoming hectic. The combination of excellent cuisine, first-class service, great wines and a wonderful atmosphere made this evening unforgettable for us. We felt completely at home and would visit the WACA again at any time for special occasions or simply a nice evening with good food. A big thank you to the entire team for this perfect evening – we will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was disappointing. The price-performance ratio left a lot to be desired. For 38 euros, my dish consisted of just two shrimps, which were unfortunately completely overcooked and had a rubbery consistency - a typical feature of aquaculture. The dish was complemented by a small portion of salmon (approx. 25 g) and a scallop. Despite the comparatively simple order - just two main courses - we had to wait around 50 minutes for our food. The service also did not meet the expectations you would expect from a restaurant in this price range. Unfortunately, the staff didn't seem sufficiently trained. Overall, the impression remains that the quality offered does not do justice to the high price or the standards of the house. We cannot recommend the restaurant at all!

Ein toller Abend, Sehr freundlicher Service, man ist Willkommen. Hervorragende Fischqualität, einfach und toll zubereitet. Es kann so einfach sein, wenn man es kann. Großes Kompliment unsererseits an die Küche. Einziger Wermutstropfen: die Preisgestaltung, wobei die Qualität tatsächlich vieles verzeiht.

Wir waren das erste Mal im WACA und es wird nicht unser letztes Mal gewesen sein. Sehr leckere Ceviche-Varianten und auch die "japanische Pizza" hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Lachs mit Teriyakiglasur war gut, jedoch nicht herausragend. Wir sind mehr Fans der Vorspeisen :-) Das Ambiente hat uns gut gefallen, das Personal war sehr freundlich, aber nicht aufdringlich. Beim Servieren wurden uns die Speisen nochmals erklärt, auch bei der Bestellung bekamen wir Hilfestellung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir buchten das Weihnachtsmenü, das 3 Vorspeisen beinhaltete (die wirklich köstlich waren), dann als zweiten Gang das Fleisch, dessen Belag nicht meinem Geschmack entsprach, und den Nachtisch, als sie uns brachten, war der Nachtisch mit Gluten und ich musste fragen Der Kellner bat um Erklärungen, der uns dann eine miserable Dessertvariante für meinen Freund brachte. ohne Kerze oder Glückwünsche zum Geburtstag, während sie es dem Mädchen am Tisch vor uns machten, das auch Geburtstag hatte, und das war wirklich schrecklich. Der Service war sehr langsam, wir bezahlten und machten uns auf den Weg zum Ausgang, und niemand begrüßte uns oder bedankte sich. Eine wirklich schreckliche Erfahrung!

I was there for the second time. The first time it was really great, this time it was relatively disappointing. We waited a very long time before we were even served. And then from someone for whom it was obviously a burden (rude and arrogant). Question from us: What side dishes are there? Waiter: It's right there... Out of the league! Later a very nice colleague took over. The food is good but overpriced. Over €300 (including 2 glasses of wine) is definitely too much for what was on offer. Especially when the service is so manageable (at least at the beginning). A token at the end (coffee on the house or something like that) would have been good.

Great ambience and delicious food. The hostess was extremely accomodating despite the business of the place. The servers were very attentive. We had a wonderful time and thank all the servers/ hostess at Waca Restaurant Nikkei & Grill for making our visit a memorable one. Das hat die Atmosphäre noch einmal unterstrichen und den Abend wirklich angenehm gemacht. Fazit: Ein Restaurant, das man auf jeden Fall einmal besucht haben sollte – allein schon wegen der Vorspeisen und des Ambientes. Empfehlenswert für einen entspannten Abend mit kleinen kulinarischen Highlights.

Although the prices are on the higher side, the quality and the overall experience completely justify it. We had a lot of fun and are already looking forward to our next visit!

A very chic restaurant in the middle of Motorworld. Excellent service and very good, sometimes exotic food await the guest. Priced in the upper category. Reservation is actually mandatory. Business meals are very possible. There is also a separate small area for I think about 10 people. Gladly again.

Very nice restaurant located in Motoren World. Parking is possible without any problems for a fee. More of a place for fall or winter with its dark but very tasteful interior. Although it is an open concept, it is relatively quiet. The food was very good, with 2 starters or sharing 4 you can make yourself very happy, both visually and culinary-wise. The mango brulee cream was also sensational. But I almost fell off my chair when I got the bill; a large bottle of water for over 10 euros is simply completely disproportionate. Overall, our experience was fine. We have been guests at this restaurant 5-6 times and have celebrated birthdays and other occasions. The staff was always friendly and accommodating, which cannot be said about the food. The food took a particularly long time today, for a restaurant that was empty when we walked in we had to wait a lot longer than we would normally wait. We were served the wrong dish as a starter, but the staff later swapped it for the correct dish. However, and this is very important to mention, the second courses were very subpar, even underqualified for the price category. We ordered a teriyaki salmon and a sea bass fillet as a second course. The teriyaki salmon was basically tasteless, and the sea bass fillet tasted like something you could have made much cheaper in a pan at home. We would describe the overall experience as average. It wasn't terrible overall, so it deserves a 3-star rating. Hopefully they can improve later.

Visited several times, received a perfectly prepared steak every time, a class of its own in Munich, I can only recommend it.

Ambiance: Absolutely luxurious and brilliantly furnished. Acoustics are excellent. You don't have to scream and everything looks very elegant. Staff: Incredibly friendly and professional. Whoever came to the table was friendly, discreet and very knowledgeable. Professionals at 5 star level! Eat: Every meal was terrific. Next level taste. No matter whether it's a starter or a main course. Except for perch fillet, there is nothing particularly special for the money. I think the price of dessert is too expensive. I found the rest of the dishes to be ok for the taste. All in all, an absolute insider tip in Munich and then you have the entire Motorworld for free where you can avoid luxury cars.

Starter was good and was brought very early, but we waited almost 1 1/2 hours for our main course, which should have been prepared very quickly (sushi and shrimp). When paying, we mentioned our problem - regarding the long wait - where we didn't even get an apology. Wouldn't come here again.

We waited over 20 minutes for currywurst and fries. When asked, the sausage was ready in 30 seconds. They then wanted to bring me the extra sweet potato fries. We had to fetch it ourselves 10 minutes later. Not a word of apology. Food was also rather average.
