We were here for the first time today and also tried Nepalese food for the first time. That was so delicious.. we once had lamb in a spinach sauce and lamb in a mango sauce.. that was super tasty.. the service was super friendly.. We drank a very tasty cloudy shandy with it. I would have given 10 stars too. Many thanks to the team and best regards from the real north (Husum)

Personally, I found the portion sizes too small in relation to the price. Had momos and the Nepalese special menu. Not suitable for everyone in terms of taste. I don't think the atmosphere is right. You feel more like you're in a Franconian inn. All in all, it's worth it if you're looking for culinary variety.

Went to eat momo on the winter solstice! And mango mutton (the first time I tried this combination, it’s so novel! And it’s delicious, it perfectly covers the smell of mutton). There’s also rose-flavored lassi, so happy~

We ended up in the small restaurant by chance because our original destination was closed. We were greeted and served very friendly. With its vaulted cellar, the ambience seems more Franconian-rustic than Asian, but at least cozy. Since the prices are very moderate, we ordered extensively and especially tried the Nepalese specialties. Although we don't have any comparison - Nepalese food isn't something you eat very often - the food tasted very tasty, seemed freshly prepared and wasn't too spicy even for European palates. If you like Indian cuisine, you should also try Nepalese cuisine, as they are somewhat similar in terms of spice. Our special recommendation: the momos, dumplings with different fillings - very, very tasty. Worth a visit for a cozy evening with unusual food!

Much recommended. I had the privilege of trying their Nepali vegetarian thali which is served with boiled rice, mixed veggies, lentils and their traditional pickle. The taste was perfect, food was well cooked and you can get the authentic asian flavors from this cuisine . Staff was friendly, environment was clean and cozy and food was delicious of course . Would like to go again😋

Schlichtes Ambiente, etwas kleine Auswahl aber leckere Gerichte. War schön auch mal etwas unbekanntere Küchen probieren zu können. Ohne mich auszukennen wirkt das Essen auf jeden Fall authentisch. Service sehr freundlich, Preis-Leistung super.

Wir waren zum Abendessen dort und waren leider etwas enttäuscht. Das Essen war okay. Die Dips zum Papadam waren unserer Meinung nach nicht selbst gemacht. Die Cola hatte keine Kohlensäure. Unsere Gerichte kamen schnell und waren in Ordnung. Es hat aber etwas der Pfiff gefehlt. Der Reis war normaler Basmatireis. Wir kennen ihn mit Kardamom und weiteren Gewürzen und lieben den indischen Reis. Der Service war sehr nett und schnell. Das Ambiente ist nicht so gemütlich. Wir saßen neben dem Heizlüfter. Für Personen, die ab und zu indisch essen, ist es in Ordnung, aber wir haben uns aufgrund der positiven Bewertungen mehr erwartet.

Das Ambiente ist etwas schlicht, aber wir haben sehr gut gegessen. Ich war noch nie am Himalaya, aber so stelle ich mir die Küche vor. Satt und sauber fühlte ich mich direkt fit für einen Achttausender. Das Essen kam schnell, die Bedienung freundlich. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Atmosphäre gemütlich. Freundlicher und netter Service. Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut aber nur 7 kleine Stückchen Fleisch. Wenn Gemüse, Mandeln und Cashewnüssen im Essen waren dann zermahlen in der Soße. Gut aber kein zweites Mal

The best Momos (Tibetan dumplings) and Thali I had in a while. I returned 3 successive nights. Very good cook and warm and welcoming staff!

The food here is AMAZING! The butter chicken is the best I've ever had and the momos are top notch. The area is usually quiet and calm. I can't recommend this place enough 💛💛💛

I was deployed to poland and we were moved to germany, it was almost 7 months i hadnot got chance to eat nepali food. Finally we found Himalayan restaurant.I cannot express in words how much happy i was.Food was supper delicious and testy.Service was awesome.Very good environment,very honest and lovely people.If i get chance untill i stay in germany i will go another time for sure.I recommend everyone plz visit this restaurent once and enjoy food. Very Cozy Restaurant in the Heart of Bayreuth, They serve delicious and Authentic Food prepared with Himalayan Spices and Herbs. A must visit Place for Mountain/Nepal lovers and enthusiasts. The portions are huge and price very reasonable. Don’t forget to try the Homemade Momos.

Food was just Ok, a bit bland, not colorful. Not bad but also not memorable. Not bad but also not to repeat. Entree with heavy fried dough, taste all the same. Same with currys.... I was expecting more. Service was very friendly, people were nice.

Ja, das Ambiente ist einfach. Aber alles andere wäre unglaubwürdig. Ja, das Essen ist lecker, so wie in Nepal eben. Und der Chef ist total nett. Aber das Gegenteil wäre ebenfalls unglaubwürdig, schließlich ist es die nepalesische Gastfreundschaft, das dieses Land auszeichnet. Dazu kommen faire Preise. Also: Mal ausprobieren!

Wir waren auf Grund der guten Bewertungen hier und wurden leider enttäusch. Die Tischdecken hatten Spuren anderer Gäste und die Speisekarte Fettflecken. Das Essen wurde schnell serviert, war aber leider kein kulinarischer Höhepunkt. Die typischen Gewürze der tibetischen / indischen Küche fehlten uns.

Leckeres Essen und freundlicher Service

Ich war mal vor 5 Jahren, da war ich von dem Essen begeistert. Bei meinen Besuch gestern (Ende Januar 23) kann ich das nicht mehr bestätigen. Es war alles so ein fader Einheitsgeschmack. Das Ambiente ist auch trostlos, damit hätte ich aber Leben können wenn das Essen gut wäre. Ich hab gelesen es gab einen Kochwechsel letztes Jahr, seitdem hat die Qualität anscheinend nachgelassen. Kann ich nur so bestätigen.

Kann ich nach Pächter/Kochwechsel leider nicht mehr empfehlen. Karte wurde verändert, im Internet ist aber noch die Alte zu finden.

We love Indian food, so thought we'd try Nepalese. Unfortunately, we ordered the Vegie fritters, which were heavy with fried dough. The curry was much better. There were not many dishes from which to choose. If you enjoy Indian cuisine, you will like it here. Just stay away from the fritters.

Nettes Ambiente. Leider war das Essen nicht wie wir es von der Indischen Küche gewohnt sind. Das Essen wurde auch nur Warm und nicht heiß serviert. Toiletten waren Sauber und Bedienung Freundlich (redet aber sehr leise).

Hallo Freunde, unser Besuch im Himalaya Bayreuth war wieder eine sehr gute Entscheidung. Das Essen ist wirklich lecker und gut gemacht. Frische Zutaten, netter Service und faire Preise. Wenn zwischendurch sogar der Koch an den Tisch kommt und freundlich fragt ob wir noch genug Reis haben, dann fühlst du das große Herz von Tibet. Von uns gibt es insgesamt big 5 STARS, und ein herzliches Thank you for all. 👍❤️😎

Habe gerade das erste mal hier gegessen und war sehr positiv überrascht. Das Lamm-Curry war ausgezeichnet. Die Inhaber sind sehr nett und bemüht, so dass man sich rundum wohl fühlt. Die Von-Römer-Straße steuert noch das flair bei. Ich werde wieder kommen

Hier kann man richtig gut essen. Die sind sehr freu dich und das Ambiente stimmt auch.

Sehr lecker Salat war zu klein für den Preis Hauptspeise hätte auch etwas üppiger ausfallen können

Einfache Räumlichkeiten, Essen top, Portionsgröße typisch, Preise in Ordnung. Außerdem sehr freundlich.

Ein kleines Restaurant mit guten Gerichten. Tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Daal Suppe ist hervorragend. Wer die Speisen authentisch Scharf haben möchte kann diese mit dem zum Essen gereichten Chilli-Öl aufpeppen.

Das Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Außerhalb von Nepal würde ich sagen, gibt es das beste Mango Lassi überhaupt. Was mir fehlt aber das mindert in keiner Weise die Qualität und die Auswahl an Speisen, ist ein Panir Chili, einen Yak Burger, Thukpa oder ein Nepal Ice Bier wie man es auf dem Weg zum Thorong La bekommt. Doch das wäre vielleicht etwas übertrieben, denn dann bräuchte kein Mensch mehr nach Nepal zu reisen und das wäre sehr schade. Ich war jetzt zum dritten Mal im Himalaya Restaurant in Bayreuth, unter anderem auch mit kulinarisch recht kritischen nepalesischen Freunden, die meinten, schmeckt besser als zu Hause. Alles in allem ein sehr schönes kleines Restaurant, in dem man dem Chef in der Küche bei der Speisenzubereitung zuschauen kann. Nachdem wir einen Anfahrtsweg von 100 km haben, können wir nicht jede Woche dort hin aber der vierte Besuch wird sicher noch vor Ostern 2022 sein!

Das Essen ist super lecker, sehr große Auswahl. Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 10 Leuten da und haben nur 2 Runden Getränke bekommen, danach ist nie wieder einer fragen gekommen, wir hätten bestimmt mehr getrunken. Nur Bargeld Zahlung möglich.

Phantastisches Essen, egal welches Gericht. Sehr guter Service. Absolut freundlich und schnell. Sowohl das Lokal, als auch die Toiletten müssen jedoch dringend renoviert werden.
