Rude service, very bland food, and not enough toppings on the pizza, all for a hefty price. Next time, I'll just get a frozen pizza and add my own toppings. You'll get much more enjoyment out of it.
We spontaneously decided to come here as a couple. The pizzas and salad were very good, and the green garlic oil was excellent. The food arrived at a reasonable pace (it's generally quiet in town right now, but many tables were occupied). The owner is very friendly and seems to have known most of the guests for a long time. But she also made us newcomers feel very welcome. The owner even came to our table and recommended the garlic oil (and added a well-deserved warning about the chili oil. Thanks! 😀). Overall, a very pleasant atmosphere, quiet and relaxed. The open fireplace is the icing on the cake. We'd love to come back again. Thank you for the friendly service.
Today, Boxing Day, we decided to visit the restaurant and unfortunately regret it.
We had a reservation for eight people and were immediately given a table, which was unfortunately too small for us, so two people had to sit at another table. It was nice that, after we were all seated, they took care of finding us a different spot, right by the entrance. The door was left open the whole time, and since we were cold because of a draft and we also had a baby with us, we decided to close it. We were then rudely told that customers wouldn't see that the restaurant was open otherwise and that they would lose their money. One of our children wanted the "Gingerbread Mousse" dessert, which he received, but it contained a lot of alcohol. Unfortunately, there was no information about this on the menu. The staff member rudely replied that it was perfectly normal, and instead of apologizing or offering us a different dessert for the boy, the woman simply left. She also didn't even know that it contained alcohol, let alone what the dessert was called. Haha. When we went to pay, the waitress didn't know what we had ordered and got the prices mixed up, so we ended up paying almost €40 more… and of course, we also had to pay extra for the alcoholic dessert for the young man. The food was tasty, but the staff is unfortunately the reason we won't be coming back… I also don't think it's fair to charge €17 for Spätzle, especially since we could see them being emptied straight from the package.
€10 for a tiramisu with whipped cream from a can is also unacceptable… The price-performance ratio is completely off.
The shocking thing was that they had a prize hanging up, claiming they had won first place on "Your Restaurant, My Restaurant." It was incomprehensible… more like a visit from Frank Rosin.
I've been a Cigköftem customer since 2018, when their shop was still on Schaezlerstrasse. The last two times I've unfortunately discovered that the recipe has changed, and it's become generally tasteless. The employee also made my order wrong. I ordered two, one spicy and one less spicy, and both had different toppings, and he got everything wrong. It tasted unseasoned, and the cigköfte was too soft, so it was sticky, like mush, in the mouth, and the wrapper was dry. He didn't even listen properly, even though I spoke to him in Turkish. It's suffered a lot of quality, so it gets 1 point.
Stylish café with friendly, attentive service. A breakfast buffet for €20 without at least one specialty coffee or tea is quite steep. No (flavored) water, no juices, no tea, not even filter coffee included. So, including tip, we paid €30 for the breakfast buffet, which included one delicious latte macchiato (Braun coffee from an espresso machine) and 0.5 liters of still water (tap water?). I couldn't get my money's worth from the buffet, which offered a good and tasty selection of food. We often go to a hotel in the Spessart region where the buffet costs €25 and EVERYTHING is included (all specialty coffees – okay, from a fully automatic machine, but it tastes good – two juices, sparkling wine, water – also flavored). For me, the price-performance ratio here isn't quite right. Everything tasted good, though! The three of us were quite cramped at the small table, as you normally fill several plates plus a bread basket at a buffet. The freshly prepared fried and scrambled egg portions consisted of one egg on a saucer (the scrambled egg looked very meager on the small plate; without herbs or other garnish – it could have been presented more attractively).
We ordered the appetizer platter for two. Everything on the plate was really good. We especially loved the falafel with sesame seeds. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
This is one of my favorite places in all of Munich. The meat is amazing, the 4-5 sauces they offer are delicious, the vegetables are fresh, the fries are incredible... in short, I love this place, I go often and it never disappoints.
100% recommended
