Today we were with the gourmet block at Mykonos in Kempten.
We were guests a year ago, which was rather mediocre, and we wanted to give it another chance.
Furnishings are chic and decorated accordingly. Very nice to look at.
The service was nice but not very engaging.
As a welcome we were given an ouzo.
The negative evening started with the menu being served. This was cracked and about to fall apart.
We don't understand why something like this isn't exchanged.
Unfortunately, more than half of the dishes on offer were not available because the ingredients such as gyros, minced meat, lamb or liver (one of the two in any case) etc. were missing. It's not a problem if something goes out, but if half the menu isn't available, it's sad.
There was only tomato rice as a side dish, as everything else like fries, fried potatoes, etc. were also not in stock.
We were only informed of this at the table after we had ordered our drinks, probably to avoid having to leave the restaurant again.
Likewise, when we made our reservation by phone, we were not informed that half of the menu was not available.
Other guests were also more disappointed than happy about it.
Too bad.
After we found something we got the starter salad. A slice of tomato, half a slice of cucumber and half a handful of iceberg lettuce with ready-made dressing. Oh well.
The garlic bread, on the other hand, was very tasty, the feta was ok.
For the main course we had souvlaki with rice, fries (which were not available) and tzatziki, as well as pork fillet on a skewer with fried potatoes that were not available (but the tomato rice).
Both tasted ok though. Not earth-shattering but not bad either.
All in all we were very disappointed and probably won't come back again.
We went to this restaurant for lunch today. A lunch special with soup for 9.90 euros. I can fully recommend this restaurant as the food was very tasty and the quantity was completely sufficient. The restaurant was well filled, in contrast to other restaurants nearby that charge 18.80 for a schnitzel for frozen goods. Other landlords have themselves to blame if things don't work
My personal favorite pub. Nice place. Enjoy your meal. Fresh beer. Super Service. (edit 2022: finally we can go there again! The live music is at its best, the service is still unbeatable and the food is typically excellent in a pub!) Update December 2022: still unbeatable!
Update March 2023: still 😀
Update March 2024: We haven't been there for far too long! Music, food, Guinness. Happy!
It was way too expensive and the food wasn't that good and there wasn't much choice for dessert. I expected a lot more. The only thing that was good was the view
A very nice hotel with very friendly staff, whether at the reception or in the catering area, very nice and very clean rooms.
The breakfast is of very good quality
The location is great, 10-15 minutes walk to the basilica
We'll be back
It's fine and you certainly won't leave hungry because the portions are very generous but the food is not brilliant, nor apparently great quality. Not super clean.
Extremely disappointed!
I paid €24.90 for a vegetable soup with shrimp stock. Generally quite overpriced, but I thought I would order the dish with shrimp, squid and scallops. In the end I got a shrimp and let it have been four small pieces of scallop and got some squid. When I asked that it seemed very little for €25 and that I wasn't prepared to pay that price for what was served, I was told that the ingredients were very expensive. I specifically looked up the menu again and there was mention of prawns, which implies that there was more than one... In fact, I wouldn't have said anything if there had been at least three slightly smaller prawns in the dish. They could have simply brought me three more prawns when I complained, but that was probably not an option and I had to live with the fact that it simply cost €25, period.
I won't go there again to eat or order. Too bad.
