Eigentlich sind 5 Sterne zu wenig. Dieses Restaurant ist beispiellos für tolles Ambiente und Service, Sauberkeit und Qualität. Für mich ein Muss, sobald ich auch nur in der Nähe bin. Auch nach mehreren Besuchen bin ich jedes Mal fasziniert und beeindruckt. Meines Erachtens nach werden hier hohe Standards dauerhaft gehalten. Die tolle Aussicht kommt besonders am Abend noch besser zur Geltung.

Ich war leider sehr enttäuscht von meinem Besuch bei Vitami in Kempten. Das Essen hat insgesamt überhaupt nicht gut geschmeckt. Es ist sehr überteuert. Besonders das Sushi war wirklich miserabel – der Reis war matschig und geschmacklos, und die Zutaten wirkten alles andere als frisch. Auch die übrigen Gerichte konnten mich nicht überzeugen. Alles wirkte lieblos zubereitet und geschmacklich sehr schwach. Für die Preise hätte ich deutlich bessere Qualität erwartet. Ich werde dort definitiv nicht noch einmal essen gehen und kann das Restaurant leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Schöne Aussicht auf die Berge, Ambiente sehr schön und die Bedienung war auch nett. Das Essen hingegen war entweder völlig geschmacklos, oder völlig versalzen (Wantan-Suppe), auf dem meisten Sushi waren komische frittierte Fäden, die nach altem Fett geschmeckt haben. Die größte Enttäuschung waren für mich die gummiartigen und sehr zähen Tintenfischringe. Wir (2 Personen) haben beim All-you-can-eat immer 5 Teller bestellt, diese kamen in sehr langem Abstand und meistes einer, selten zwei oder drei. Alles in allem eine kostspielige Enttäuschung! Ich kann es leider keinem empfehlen!

Ich hätte mir diese Bewertung gerne erspart, wenn man anders mit meiner Kritik umgegangen wäre. Wir waren vier Erwachsene und zwei Kinder und sind zur Mittagszeit gekommen, da uns das mit den Kindern einfach deutlich besser passt. Wir haben uns vorab auf der Webseite über alle Gerichte informiert und uns daraufhin entschieden, endlich mal Wantami auszuprobieren. Wir kennen dieses Konzept schon aus einem anderen Restaurant und waren begeistert über die Qualität und die Speisen. Leider trifft das nicht auf Wantami zu. Zuerst haben wir vergeblich nach den Speisen gesucht, die im Internet angepriesen wurden. Auf Nachfrage gab es nur: „Ach, das gibt es nur am Abend, nicht am Mittag.“ Die Auswahl war sehr begrenzt, was die warmen Speisen angeht und vor allem Fleisch. Die Portionen, die Optik stimmt nicht mit den Fotos im Internet überein. Die Portionsgröße passt überhaupt nicht zum Konzept, dass man verschiedene Sachen probieren kann. Die Speisen sind so groß und enthalten so viel Reis, dass man wirklich nur wenige probieren kann, weil man einfach so schnell satt ist. Die bestellten Speisen wurden nicht einzeln an den Tisch gebracht nur auf Platten. Tatsächlich war das Beste an allem die Limonade für 6,90 Euro und nicht das Essen. Wir waren alle sehr enttäuscht über das, was uns serviert wurde. Mein Sohn hat sich sehr auf den Roboter gefreut, der das Essen an den Tisch bringen sollte, aber diesen haben wir nur einmal am Nachbartisch gesehen. Auf Nachfrage wurde darauf auch nicht eingegangen. Am Anfang war man sehr freundlich zu uns, auch beim Erklären, wie das mit dem Bestellen bei ihnen funktioniert. Als man dann am Ende nachgefragt hat, ob wir zufrieden sind und wir unsere Kritik freundlich geäußert haben, konnte man uns gar nicht schnell genug gehen sehen. Auch den Beleg gab es erst auf Nachfrage. Wir hätten es uns anders gewünscht. Wir wollten schon länger dorthin und haben uns sehr gefreut auf diesen Besuch und hätten nicht gedacht, dass wir so enttäuscht werden. Es ist wirklich nichts Besonderes und keines der Gerichte hat uns überzeugt. Was zusätzlich für unseren Geschmack enttäuschend war, dass das einzige unpanierte Fleisch, was man bestellen konnte, scharf war und unsere Kinder es nicht essen konnten, genauso wie das Gemüsegericht mit Soße. Dies wurde auch nicht als scharf angegeben, war aber so scharf, dass auch ich persönlich es nicht essen konnte.

Wir waren das Erstemal hier und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Sowohl der Ausblick und der Service war super:) Das einzige was nicht 100% perfekt war ist, dass die einzelnen Portionen beim all you can eat fast zu groß sind… so bekommt man heim Krabbenchips bestellen gleich 10 Stück oder beim bestellen der Bowl sofort fast ein halbes Hauptgericht. Find ich schade, weil man dadurch weniger probieren kann. Die crispy rolles sind die einzigen die nicht so top waren, weil sie nur lau warm und eher zäh statt crunchy waren.

Der absolute Wahnsinn! Sehr leckeres frisches Sushi mit fantastischer Aussicht über Kempten. Man wird sehr schnell und freundlich bedient, auch von einem Roboter, das fand ich interessant. Besonderes Highlight: um der Lebensmittelverschwendung entgegen zu wirken muss man eine Gebühr zahlen, wenn man Essen zurück gehen lässt. Dieses Geld wird an die Tafel gespendet.

Tolle Location und Mega leckeres Essen! Also wenn man mal in Kempten ist sollte man schon mal hier Essen gehen. Aber Abends definitiv vorher einen Tisch reservieren. Leider braucht man sein Handy um sein Essen zu bestellen, man hat es eh immer zu viel in der Hand und wenigsten beim Essen sollte man es weg lassen können. Aber das Essen an sich ist wirklich sehr lecker und es geht auch schnell das man es bekommt. Die Mitarbeiter sind auch sehr freundlich und helfen bei allen Fragen. Ich kann die WATAMI Skylounge nur empfehlen.

Ich war heute am Valentinstag da und es war alles Mega liebevoll dekoriert. Das Personal war trotz dem hohen Ansturm sehr engagiert und nett. Das Restaurant Watami in Kempten bietet für mich die authentischste asiatische Küche in der Umgebung. Die Gerichte schmecken unglaublich gut und kommen geschmacklich sehr nah an das heran, was ich aus China kenne. Besonders toll finde ich die kleineren Portionen - so kann man viele verschiedene Speisen bestellen und sich einmal quer durch die Karte probieren. Die Qualität ist wirklich top und jedes Gericht überzeugt. Ich war im Juli 2024 für zweieinhalb Wochen in Wujiang, Stadt Suzhou in der Provins Jiangsu und bin dort täglich mit chinesischen Kollegen essen gegangen - jedes Mal woanders. Ich habe dort wirklich alles probiert: Seidenraupen, Schlange, Innereien, Oktopus - sogar den Kopf - und unter anderem einen sogenannten „Inside-Out"-Fisch. Alles war unglaublich lecker und die Küche extrem vielfältig. Genau dieses authentische, geschmacklich starke Niveau finde ich auch bei Watami in Kempten wieder. Klare Empfehlung!

Selten solche Glücksgefühle beim Essen gehabt. Wir waren an einem Montag da. Haben all you can eat gegessen und das war wirklich fantastisch. Bestellt werden die Gerichte per Smartphone kommen kurze Zeit später an den Tisch. Wir haben das Essen teilweise untereinander durch getauscht. Die Qualität war immer hochwertig und alles frisch zubereitet. Nicht vergleichbar mit klassischen all you can Eat buffets. Sollte einmal etwas länger dauern, muss man sehen, dass alles wirklich einzeln und frisch gekocht wird. Es standen an einem Montag mind. fünf Leute nur in der Küche um zu kochen. Der Ausblick ist natürlich auch ein Traum. Es war wirklich ein Erlebnis und das war definitiv nicht das letzte Mal hier gegessen zu haben. Es ist etwas besonderes, dass man sich einfach mal gönnen sollte.

A huge disappointment. The atmosphere is cold and uninviting. We had to wait an hour for our drinks. In that hour, only four small dishes arrived. The food arrived somewhat faster afterward, but still with a significant delay. The food itself was unappetizing; everything was drenched in mayonnaise or soy sauce. Never again!

All you can eat in the evening. As others have mentioned, when it's busy, the food arrives slowly. The grilled items are tasty, the sushi acceptable by German standards – you can't expect anything extraordinary, especially the tuna. The food is definitely expensive, mainly because prices have been raised, with the reason given being the increase in VAT from 7% to 19%. But the VAT has since been reduced from 19% to 7%, yet the prices haven't been lowered again. It would be more than fair to lower the prices again. The owner could simply state that the VAT has been reduced to 7%, which is why the prices on the menu are now cheaper. He already stated this on his sign when he raised the prices, explaining that the VAT had increased from 7% to 19%.

Super! 🥰 We ate at “WATAMI” and everything was truly excellent. The food was of superb quality and tasted incredibly good. The price is a bit high, though – we paid €86.20 for two people on Friday, as drinks are charged extra. Nevertheless, I have to say that the food is really high quality and absolutely worth it in terms of taste. I also really like the ordering system via the app – truly innovative and different from many other all-you-can-eat restaurants where you have to go to the buffet yourself. The restaurant itself is also very nicely designed.

This was our first time at this restaurant, and we opted for the "all you can eat" option. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to a table. Our first impression was extremely positive (we simply can't understand the negative reviews). The price is more than reasonable for the quality and variety of delicious food. We personally loved the "Dragon Sushi" and ordered it several times. Be warned about the curries! They are very large and almost a full portion, as are the soups (though still very tasty and highly recommended). The ordering system is incredibly well-designed, but you really have to experience it for yourself. It works through a website, accessible via a QR code on-site, and then a robot promptly arrives at your table to deliver your order. The only downside is the parking situation. Otherwise, we have absolutely no complaints. We will definitely be back!

I was never a big fan of sushi before – until I went to Watami. Since then, I've loved it! Everything tastes incredibly good and is freshly prepared. The food is truly outstanding. I recommend visiting between Monday and Thursday or on Sunday at lunchtime, although it can still be quite busy then. But apart from that: a really fantastic restaurant!

This was our second visit, and overall, we can say it's good. There are a few things to criticize, though: The food arrives relatively slowly when it's busy. Our first order took 45 minutes to arrive. Then they had to unlock our order slot, which took almost 30 minutes and three requests to the staff. Only then could we order again. Taste-wise, almost everything is really great, except for a few items that are covered in an excessive amount of teriyaki sauce, making it almost impossible to taste anything else. The concept is good in principle, and we would come again, but we would like to see some improvements in these areas.

One of the best all-you-can-eat concepts I know! Ordering is done entirely through the app – super easy, quick, and without any chaos at the table. The dishes arrive freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and most importantly: absolutely delicious. You can tell that quality is paramount here. The sushi is top-notch, the hot food is cooked to perfection, and even the selection reflects this: less is more, but it's done exceptionally well. The prices are a bit higher, but absolutely justified – you're paying for freshness, flavor, and a well-thought-out concept. If you're looking for good Asian food in a modern atmosphere, this is the place for you.

The pictures promise a lot but it’s not that good. The waiters were nice but we couldn’t understand them. The food was really bad ! I was so exited to eat sushi but it tasted like nothing. The noodles were cold and nothing was properly seasoned. The atmosphere is cold and not cozy at all. The view is pretty good and they could have done a lot more with the place but I wouldn’t go there again.

Based on previous reviews, I chose the Watami restaurant and wanted to see for myself. I wasn't disappointed and had a decent all-you-can-eat lunch for €22.50. Five dishes are available per round, every five minutes. I didn't even manage two rounds. Everything is done via QR code and a website where you select and order dishes. I found the rice a bit too much at times, which is cheap and filling. The taste was good for me. Friendly service and a beautiful view from up there. I'll be back if I have the chance.

We went for an all-you-can-eat meal in the evening... the food was really delicious and the service very friendly and helpful... however, we found it rather jarring to be on our phones the whole time to order food... which is of course the concept, it just doesn't suit us... for those who spend the whole day on their phones, it's certainly a great option... the ambience was okay, but it didn't blow us away... the view over Kempten is nice... worth the experience for us, but it will remain a one-time experience.

Absolutely disappointing – never again! I rarely write negative reviews, but in this case, it's simply necessary. The service is virtually nonexistent – and that's despite the exorbitant price per person. What you see in the online photos bears no resemblance to reality. The food looks completely different – carelessly presented, disappointing in quality. Anyone who lets themselves be fooled by the glossy pictures will be bitterly disappointed. I had reserved a table in advance – of course, no one on site knew anything about it. We were assigned a random table, and the staff were genuinely surprised that there was even a reservation. Not to mention the service itself: Questions go unanswered, and no one explains how the concept works. You stand there, reading everything yourself, and get no help at all. For an all-you-can-eat place with prices like these, that's unacceptable. The absolute no-go: The fish carpaccio was covered in visible fish fat – a sign of poor quality and has no place in a reputable restaurant. Conclusion: If you value good service and fresh, high-quality food, you'd be better off visiting a real sushi restaurant. They lure you with beautiful pictures, but the reality is drab, overpriced, and disappointing.

You definitely have to see it at least once! The location is cool, and the concept of ordering all-you-can-eat via phone is really cool. However, the price-performance ratio isn't right. For €37 plus drinks, I'd simply eat better elsewhere. The meat was dry and nothing special. The noodle and rice dishes were okay, but they could be better. So, just for the food, no thanks. It's the whole package that counts. But once was enough for us. :)

I went to Watami in Kempten on Tuesday. The food is solid at first, but after a while, you realize that almost everything tastes the same—perhaps a typical all-you-can-eat. The rice with curry was the highlight—it just wasn't good and not appropriate for such an upscale restaurant. I only ordered one portion of sushi because it didn't taste good. And unfortunately, overall, almost everything was just sweet. For €80 for two people, you can get better food at other restaurants. We won't be going there again.

A very nice location on the 13th floor with a wonderful view over Kempten 😊. We had the "all you can eat" option for lunch. Ordering via QR code was fun (not everyone's cup of tea, but we found it quite amusing). The robot that brought some of the food to the table was also nice 🤣. The selection is huge, and the staff is very friendly and helpful 👍. The dishes were excellent and delicious; we really enjoyed them. The small portions were nice; you could try a lot and everything without getting stuffed right away. Just like the Spanish with their tapas 😋😃! We thought the value for money was excellent! There's nothing to complain about the food. The service, on the other hand, was disorganized chaos. You had to call a waiter just to place your drink order, because no one came after you learned that you can only find the drinks in the AllYouCanEat app (QR code on the table). This would be the next point of criticism. Menu? It's a plain, shredded paper version with no pictures or explanations of the dishes. You have to Google it if you're not familiar with the Japanese names. This is where that impossible QR code impossibility comes into play again. Drinks empty? No one asks if you want more. The table is full to the brim with empty dishes? No one asks if they can clear the table. Oh yeah, when ordering drinks and also with another food order, the waiter wanted to rush off immediately after each person placed their order. Staff shortage? Not really. There were at least five service staff running around, while a delivery robot stood around most of the time.

I was negatively struck by the drink prices – they border on extortion. ### UPDATE ### Unfortunately, I have to adjust my review after today's visit (08/23/25). The food and service are clearly not up to the standards of the seating. The wait time for the first order was 60 minutes! Food arrived sporadically – it was impossible to eat together. The all-you-can-eat, two-hour limit is an absolute disgrace. The noise level in the restaurant was very loud. My Apple Watch repeatedly signaled a warning above 90 decibels!

The WATAMI Skylounge in Kempten is perfect for all-you-can-eat dining; the menu offers a variety of delicacies. I would have loved to try everything; the selection is enormous and extremely delicious. I had to hold back at a certain point because I was reaching my limit. About the process: You should reserve a table by the same day at the latest. As soon as you arrive, check in at your desired table using your smartphone (you may need to be authorized by a member of staff). Then you can start ordering right away. - A maximum of five dishes can be ordered per person per round. - You can order again after five minutes. - Drinks can be ordered at any time, but as far as I can see, they cost extra. Depending on the situation, either a staff member or a cute little service robot will come and bring you your food. Note: Always order only as much as you can. For each leftover dish, you'll have to pay €1 per piece for sushi/salads and €2 per hot dish. The money will then be donated to the Kempten Food Bank. About the food: There are various sushi variations, gyoza, seafood, various meat dishes, noodle dishes, mochi ice cream, soups, etc. My personal recommendation for what you should definitely try (unless it's seasonally limited): Fried onigiri with pineapple – and I have to say, I'm not a fan of pineapple at all, but it was still the highlight of the evening for me. Otherwise, the sesame balls were also very good (be careful when eating them, it's hotter inside than outside). For "special non-alcoholic drinks," I recommend Circle Zen, not only a real eye-catcher, but also one of the best specialty drinks I've tried there. About the ambiance: The Skylounge lives up to its name; you have a beautiful view over Kempten, and the interior is stylish and beautifully designed. Conclusion: Great restaurant with authentic Japanese food and a beautiful view of the city.

There were five of us at the restaurant. Three of us received our food and drinks reliably. In particular, nothing worked for me. The drinks arrived after 15 and 30 minutes, respectively. The premises are impressive. The view of Kempten is unique. But that's about it. The dining culture is borderline, in my opinion. I belong to the older generation (over 50) and find it odd that I'm expected to select the food on my phone and then order it for the kitchen. No waiters ask for drinks, or if it tastes good, or anything like that. The poor waiters are just running around distributing an armada of bowls like in a prison cafeteria. The ordered food, or rather finger food, is usually cold and soggy. Freshness was clearly lacking here. The kitchen is bombarded with dozens of orders per diner. That's neither sustainable nor efficient. The taste and condition of the food suffers. My dining partner and I were quite disappointed. The messy serving and the pile of plates that were piled up on our table were simply annoying. If you want good dining culture and a pleasant conversation, this is the wrong place for you. The price isn't cheap either, given the quality. But I can't really judge that. If that's the future strategy for running a restaurant, I'd rather stay home.

The restaurant's interior is truly beautiful, and the view from the rooftop terrace is simply breathtaking! The atmosphere is pleasant, the waiters are friendly, constantly on the move, and smiling—the service is definitely a plus. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Almost all of the dishes were generously coated in teriyaki sauce, making the actual flavor of the ingredients almost undetectable. The sushi was unfortunately underwhelming—almost all rice, barely any filling, and overall not particularly tasty. The portions are tiny, and the prices, on the other hand, are quite high and disproportionate to the quality. Beautiful presentation and a great view are nice, but when you go to a restaurant, you primarily expect good food—and that, unfortunately, wasn't the case here.
