I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Filterhaus restaurant in Werder (Havel) and would like to summarize my impressions.
Ambience:
The Filterhaus impresses with a stylish combination of historic industrial charm and modern elegance. The tasteful furnishings, the warm lighting concept, and the beautiful location directly on the water create an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. A seat on the terrace is especially recommended—ideal for enjoying the view over the Havel River.
Service:
The service was consistently attentive, friendly, and very accommodating. The entire team always made you feel welcome and took time to accommodate individual requests. Particularly noteworthy is that the staff really do everything possible to ensure their guests have a thoroughly pleasant stay. This warm hospitality perfectly rounds off the overall experience.
Food and Drinks:
The Filterhaus's cuisine was impressive across the board.
For our starter, we chose beetroot carpaccio with goat cheese and lamb's lettuce – an all-around successful dish, finely balanced in flavor, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. A solid 10 out of 10.
The main course, a classic beef roulade with kale, red cabbage, and dumplings, was also outstanding. Tender meat, perfectly seasoned, accompanied by aromatic vegetables and fluffy dumplings – a perfect meal, at the highest level both in terms of craftsmanship and taste!
Special features:
Even in the restrooms, guests are treated to a true experience. This is where the attention to detail that characterizes the entire hotel is evident: High-quality soap by Rituals and pantyhose provided in the ladies' restroom are exceptional touches rarely found in this form. A sign of how much the well-being of the guests is our top priority.
After our civil wedding in Pirna, we had dinner at Felsenbirne (20 people) and couldn't have wished for a better place. The food was outstanding, enjoyed by all our guests, and was beautifully presented. The service was attentive and accommodating to all our requests – simply perfect all around. We felt very comfortable and will definitely visit Felsenbirne again. Absolutely recommended!
We had a wonderful evening at this fine-dining restaurant. The food was excellent – fresh, high-quality, and prepared with regional and seasonal ingredients. We chose the 6-course menu, and each course was a surprise and a delight. You can feel the passion and creativity in the kitchen.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in the region. We will definitely be back! You should plan about 3.5 hours for the 6-course menu – it's an experience to be savored at your leisure.
We had an excellent experience at Flory Canela. This restaurant offers modern Peruvian cuisine, so it’s important not to expect traditional Peruvian dishes but rather creative reinterpretations—and they are truly amazing.
We tried the ceviche and the Nikkei tiradito, both fresh and full of flavor. The chicharrón and the asado were also outstanding, perfectly prepared and very satisfying. Desserts were equally impressive, a sweet finish to an already great meal.
The service was outstanding—warm, attentive, and very accommodating. They even prepared a special dish for our four-year-old, which we deeply appreciated.
The Pisco Sour was well made, and the restaurant offers an excellent selection of Pisco, which adds to the authentic experience.
Overall, Flory Canela delivers a modern take on Peruvian food that is both original and delicious. Highly recommended for anyone looking to discover an innovative side of Peruvian gastronomy with excellent service.
The food is very good, we definitely would go again. The good is you can choose our own dishes, in case you are not that hungry.
We were there again and tried the chicken fricassee with truffles, it's wonderful, next time I'll order it 3 times.
The kitchen is fine – you just need to know that all the food arrives at once. This can be overwhelming for both the table and the guest.
It works well for a group, but it's a challenge for two...
We were at Zaman for lunch before Oktagon #78 and honestly couldn't have asked for a better place. The restaurant is just a few minutes from the Lanxess Arena, making it perfect if you want a proper meal before an event.
I had the grill platter with kebab skewers and lamb skewers – and it was really great. The meat was grilled to perfection, super juicy, and wonderfully seasoned. There was no one-size-fits-all flavor, but truly authentic. The side dishes were also fresh and harmonious, and everything arrived hot and appetizingly. You can just tell that someone here knows their stuff.
The ambiance is oriental-modern, with warm colors, pleasant background music, and a clean, well-maintained feel. The service was attentive, friendly, and took their time even with a full house – no rush, no stress.
We were there with a few friends and felt really comfortable. It was exactly the blend of good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service you'd want before heading off to an event. We've made it clear: the next time we're in Cologne around the arena, we'll be back at Zaman. Highly recommended – five stars without hesitation!
Today, ten of us went to the Vulkan Brewery with a group of ten men. We had accidentally booked "only" a brewery tour, but our guide, Mike, spontaneously arranged for us to follow it up with a tour of the Vulkan cellar. Fantastic. We spent more than two hours with Mike and thoroughly enjoyed our time. He had the answer to all our questions and explained the brewery's history professionally and with great humor. The time flew by. I've been on many brewery tours, but this one stands out in a particularly positive way. A fantastic experience.
And once again, the team at the current Scanhotel City managed to create an unforgettable evening.
Friendliness, a family atmosphere, culinary highlights, and a cultural setting left nothing to be desired.
We look forward to the 9th ball in 2026.
