If you're ready to expand your taste buds, this is the place for you. They boldly rely on regional ingredients, sometimes with experimental preparation techniques. Fermented koji mushroom cultures gave some courses a previously unheard-of fresh acidity. The sauces and the skillful interplay of variously prepared regional ingredients were incredibly delicious. The venison was the highlight. The color, texture, and flavor were superb. The welcome felt more like a visit to a backyard workshop than to a fine-dining restaurant. This irritation quickly dissipated, however. The team seems exceptionally friendly, motivated, and competent. A great experience, albeit at a hefty price.
Unfortunately, I can't give it five stars. Overall, it was a lovely evening. The Mahlundwerk is beautifully decorated and you feel at home. The food was delicious, especially the appetizer and the welcome from the chef. Unfortunately, we were missing that special something, the icing on the cake. We understand that all the dishes are prepared with high quality, but unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for the main course (almost 2.5 hours), which was a bit annoying. There were other guests visiting, and the chef herself frequently visited them and asked how they tasted. Unfortunately, she didn't come to us (two people), which gave us the impression that two people aren't worth that much. Overall, it was a lovely evening, and we were able to experience something new.
Incredibly delicious food, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices for decent portions and a very friendly owner who takes personal care of the customers. The Bolani are my highlight. But like dishes are recommended. I always enjoy coming back!
The food was delicious, and everything went smoothly. The food was set up beautifully. All guests were very satisfied. We still had plenty of food left over. Everything was perfect; we'd go back anytime. 👍
The food is truly excellent, but the service and waiting times are truly dismal. When we arrived, there were only three people in the restaurant already eating, and no more. Even so, we still had to wait almost 30 minutes just for our drinks.
