Kulki’s Baumstriezel in Berlin

I only recently discovered this, and it's already my favorite local treat. Dustin, the vendor, had me engaged in a genuine neighborhood chat less than two minutes after I ordered. "Thirty years ago, the subway used to stop right there," he told me, and when he was a child, mothers would routinely leave their strollers in front of the department store. As the chimney cake slowly turns golden brown, time suddenly feels a little more relaxed. If you're lucky, you might even get a quick peek inside the cart. Just long enough to warm your flushed cheeks by the cozy chimney cake oven. A small stand, still new, but with exactly the kind of warmth and atmosphere that will eventually spark stories. That's Schönhauser Allee for you.

Chimney Cake / Baumstriezel was very delicious here and the staff/service was also great. So soft of the inside and crunchy on the outside - made to order so super fresh. The best topping in my opinion is cinnamon sugar of course 🥰 There is only a franchise called Kurtosh in Sydney that serves this, but the quality isn’t great. So I was a very happy Australian when I found this store in Berlin during my travels in Switzerland/Germany :) I thought these were only prevalent in Prague/Budapest. But you can also find them in some German Christmas Markets too, thank you so much for satisfying my cravings ! ☺️

I’ve walked past Kulki’s a few times and have always been drawn to the delicious cinnamon and sugar smells. I finally tried one of their Baumstriezels recently (cinnamon and sugar of course) and it exceeded all expectations. The dough is perfectly soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. I also had a cup of Glühwein which was also delicious. The team is incredibly friendly, and take pride in the stall and their service. Highly recommend!

I think the design of the cart is really great, especially where the Baumstriezel is offered.

I tried the Baumstriezel here recently and really enjoyed it. The dough was fresh, warm, and made to order and the outside was perfectly crispy. My favourite was the cinnamon and sugar. The service was super friendly and you can tell they take real pride in making people feel welcome. A great place that’s easy to recommend. They also sell yummy Glühwein!

The best chimney cakes ever, they're truly addictive. I look forward to the season every year. They're huge compared to some others, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. There are also quite a few fillings and flavors they can be rolled in, besides the classic cinnamon sugar. ❤️❤️❤️

The Baumstriezel at Kulki's are simply top-notch! The salesperson is amazing and makes the Striezel fresh right before your eyes. Crispy on the outside with nuts, soft on the inside, and very delicious. We had one with chocolate and one with white cream. Both were simply amazing, and they don't skimp on the filling either. Whenever we visit our daughter in Berlin, a visit to Kulkisbaumstriezel is a must. This filling with chocolate or the nut brittle with white chocolate is awesome. We can only recommend it. The team is always super nice and available for anything and everything.

Sehr zu empfehlen! Teig innen sehr fluffig, außen knusprig. Mit Zimt, Zucker & Apfelmus schmeckt der Striezel mir am besten. Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und es herrscht immer gute Stimmung. Ich komme gerne wieder.
