Upscale ambience, a large selection of Turkish cuisine, and good quality products. I must mention that we were there for the breakfast buffet. A glance at the menu caught my attention with the high prices, probably geared toward the Dortmund clientele. The restrooms are outdated, hence one star less for the ambiance.
Today was my last time there.
The kebab was the size of a slice of toast, and to make matters worse, there was some raw chicken in it.
Kebab + fries + drink = €14
Rarely have I eaten such a bad kebab. The meat, simply a skewer, tastes completely strange and is not of good quality either. Half the kebab went straight into the trash.
Food doesn't taste that good, the workers don't speak German and forget what you ordered. We're not allowed to decide which salad or sauce to make so we just puke. We spent 7 euros for 3 pieces of dry breaded chicken so really bad never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food was ordered, not everything arrived, called, told in a friendly manner, then the customer was asked what to do now, they agreed to deliver it later, and the full amount was finally paid. I'm still waiting for delivery today. The lack of food there is common, dry meat. I wouldn't recommend anyone.
Eating or rather eating crisis?
Sometimes I wonder whether my food order will be sent by carrier pigeon or message in a bottle - I can't explain these delivery times any other way. My wife got her food on time (congratulations), but my dish arrived just an hour and a half later - as a surprise package with completely the wrong contents. I had ordered pasta with tomato sauce and a carbonara was delivered that was so greasy that I wondered if I could use it to make a candle. Canceled, reordered – another hour and a half wait. I'm starting to think that my food is first harvested, then processed and finally delivered with a pack donkey (which is lame).
By the way, my wife's kebab was the highlight - but not in the slippery sense. The meat was so fatty it could pass for auto repair lubricant. Sauce? None. Instead, the dry kebab meat was in a cold bag that was so cold that I could have used it as an ice pack.
The best part? Every time I am put off: “Next time there will be a dish for free!” No thanks. I don't want any consolation in the form of a free meal, I just want the food that I ordered and paid for. Maybe it's time to rethink order-taking or the chef - or start a live broadcast from the kitchen to find out what's really happening there.
Conclusion: Essking is no longer king - more like the court jester.🤢
So last night I ordered a jumbo doner kebab and a chicken doner kebab with rice. First of all, there was no rice, just fries. You'd have to hunt for chicken. I'll never order a chicken doner kebab again; it was a complete disaster.
The pizza was okay. She was very thin. Had some heartburn and stomach aches from the inexpensive tuna. Overall it was delicious but certainly not healthy.
So by far the worst kebab in Ahlen. The meat was quite good, but the bread was way too thick and they simply warmed the bread up in the microwave. The salad was simply tasteless, the sauce was quite okay but overall it was a really, really bad kebab, never again
