Öz Urfa Deluxe in Dortmund

I've been going to Oz Urfa for over seven years, but this time it was really disappointing. The mixed grill platter for two people with two drinks now costs €61, about €10 more than before – and the portion is smaller. The skewers used to be bigger and they included doner kebab, but not anymore. They used to always serve tea and baklava at the end, now it's just tea. The restrooms are really run down – the towel dispensers are broken, there's paper everywhere, and it smells bad. They don't accept card payments anymore either. The food still tastes good, though. It's a shame, it used to be so much better. I hope they go back to how they used to be.

It's one of those places where I'm undecided. I'm both happy and not happy with it, the pros and cons are equal.

The waiters are polite and the food is delicious.

We received a very friendly welcome and sat down at the table. To give a fair review, we asked the waiter which dish was the most popular and delicious. He very kindly and warmly recommended the Adana. While we waited for the food, the appetizers arrived. The meze were truly excellent—I could even come back just for the meze. The bread was warm. I give the welcome, the waiter, and the appetizers 4 out of 5. Before the food arrived (and the food did arrive very late—spoiler alert), I went to the restroom. Unfortunately, the restroom was in very poor condition. There were paper towels on the floor, the toilet was dirty, and not at all hygienic. When I washed my hands, water ran everywhere. I give the restroom 2 out of 5 for hygiene. The food finally arrived. I tried two versions of Adana: Adana Dürüm: The flatbread was as tough as bubble gum, almost impossible to chew or swallow. The meat wasn't like typical Adana, but more like regular minced meat. It fell apart into small pieces, and I even found cartilage in it—it tasted like it was made entirely of animal tendons. Classic Adana: Unfortunately, the taste and quality were identical to the Dürüm. Same problem—the meat fell apart, was stringy, and unappealing. Overall, I give the food 1 out of 5 🤮. The restaurant actually looked nice, the prices were a bit high, and the waiters were friendly—but the taste was, unfortunately, zero. We didn't even feel like having tea afterward.

I can't recommend it at all; the service was very chaotic and quite unfriendly. The starter came with the main course. We weren't satisfied with the taste either.

Very disappointing. The employee, Burak, didn't allow us to sit where we wanted. This meant I couldn't give my child a bottle. Instead of being understanding, he made a fuss. Although other employees tried to resolve the situation, it ultimately became so unpleasant that we got up and left. Definitely not an option for us.

Totally overpriced! €7 for a thin Mercimek soup (water, lentils, spices) – while a more elaborate Lahmacun costs only €4.90. The price-performance ratio is outrageous, a complete rip-off – never again.

The food is not bad, I would go again if I had the opportunity.

17 euros per person for a family breakfast

The food tastes good, the ambiance is very nice. What's unacceptable, however, is that there were 14 of us there; half of us got our food, while the other half had to wait 20 minutes. Please change this urgently! A very friendly waitress named Bahar works at the cash register; she was always very courteous and helpful. Bahar, with her warm manner, made up for everything. 💞

Not even worth a star, bought a ready-made cake for €35 but the inside, the cake mixture is old and everything else on it just didn't taste good and was very hard. I called afterwards and complained and was just told that no, it's fresh and then it's the delivery person's fault, he said, but that's not my job to pay attention to, it's theirs, they have to make sure that the cake tastes good and is easy to eat and not so hard for such an outrageous price, that's why it's 0 out of 5 points, I always liked it there but not this time and I'm never going there again!

More attention should be paid to cleanliness. Employees are generally concerned.

The food was not good at all, apart from the service, everything was bad. We had the buffet for breakfast, 3 euros for extra water and the food was really bad. The service was not good and the food seemed to be Adana kebab, but there was nothing in the buffet. What they say in the advertisements is a big lie. I would not recommend it at all. Don't go there.

I have only ever been gone for the buffet. It's spectacular, but it wouldn't go right as it opens. Some dishes come out later. It gets a bit full on weekends from 10-14 o'clock.

A comedy show instead of breakfast! I went to breakfast with my friends on Sunday morning, but suddenly found myself like a "free extra": A woman was filming a video of the buffet. They didn't care at all about my privacy or my intimacy. I told the employee, and he replied lamely, "So what, honey?" So, in their world, personal rights and laws are just ornaments. The real bombshell came next: when I reacted, the WOMAN wanted to give me back the money. So, she thought she could buy my honor and pride for a few euros. And I thought: So her own honor is so cheap that she thinks everyone else's is the same price. I threw the money in her face. Because my honor has no price! The result: It's not breakfast, it's cheap theater. If you value your honor, your privacy, and your respect, don't enter this door!

Far too expensive and the locals don't eat there

We went to this restaurant with high expectations, but our hopes were dashed by sloppy meat that was either undercooked or burnt. There was no legroom, and the chairs didn't extend all the way forward. The service was good, but that doesn't excuse the soggy fries and watery tomato sauce. Charging such a high price for food that was barely edible is outrageous. I speak from experience, having visited many restaurants, but of all of them, this was the worst—of all, without much ado. Garbage.

The worst Turkish breakfast. Everything looks nice and there's plenty of it, but it's of the lowest quality. Quantity over quality. Everything just tasted absolutely nothing. Everything was overcrowded, everyone was grabbing everything, unhygienic. I was lost for words. There are so many amazing food spots, avoid this one completely.

It's a matter of quality, not just the quality of the backed food, but also the bread, and the crispy snacks and desserts. The standards aren't even met. Furthermore, the quality of the tortes and baklavas isn't even as good. I regret to say that the quality of the baked goods, especially the bread, and the freshness of the lunch options are not meeting the same standards as before. Even the freshness of the cakes and baklavas is declining.

Catastrophic quality. They should really focus on quality instead of just looking at the made-up sushi. I really don't recommend it at all. Go to the next intersection, where you can eat McDonald's, also not good quality. At least it tastes good.

They must have forgotten to put meat in the meat pide, or cubed meat in the cubed pide. Unfortunately, there's so little of it that you're basically eating dough.

Act like a lord! Dirt in every corner. Plates and glasses are covered in dried-on dirt. Pepper, salt, vinegar, and oil are so dirty that your fingers stick to the surface that you can't touch them. Everything on the wall and the table is covered in smears, hasn't been cleaned in days. I called the waiter. "Yeah, when am I supposed to do all this?" was his reply. The staff were generally unfriendly and snotty, as if they were THE restaurant there.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Serhat. His friendly, attentive, and genuine approach made us feel very comfortable and at ease. His service was prompt and efficient, and he personally addressed every request. Employees like him truly add value to a business. We hope to see you again.

We made a reasonable and delicious choice that we won't regret. We'd tried a few places in Düsseldorf and Cologne before and were disappointed. This place will make you feel like you're in Turkey.

Stopped in after a visit to the stadium and the experience was disastrous: the "10 minutes" turned into about 80 minutes until the food arrived. Apparently they were out of soup, but the table next to us got soup even though they arrived after us. All in all, not a recommendation – any fast food joint on the pedestrian zone has more charm!

The food itself is delicious – no question about it. The quality and taste are really good. But unfortunately, it's these little things that really detract from the overall impression and simply leave you feeling frustrated. There were four of us dining, and before we ordered, we specifically requested that our food arrive at the same time. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case at all. Three of us received our food as usual – only I had to wait over 15 minutes for my dish to finally arrive. Meanwhile, the others had already finished eating. That's simply disappointing, especially when you want to eat together. Little things like this make all the difference. If this happens often, you'll eventually lose the desire to come back – and that's a shame, because the potential is actually there.

Waiting 1.5 hours for service and then being ignored, goodness. Eat somewhere else.

So much disrespect and arrogance – never again Öz Urfa Deluxe! What we experienced at Öz Urfa Deluxe in Dortmund was almost beyond compare in terms of disrespect. We were there as a family to celebrate my younger brother's birthday – a nice occasion that we deliberately wanted to spend in a Turkish restaurant because we ourselves are Turkish and know what hospitality and good food should mean. But that was exactly what we found completely lacking here. The food itself was okay – we ordered two mixed grills and three pides. But the service immediately began with dubious "generosity": We received small salads with our dishes – which is perfectly normal in any other restaurant. But the waiter seriously said, "Actually, salad is only available for mixed grill orders, but I gave some to those of you who ordered pide." Excuse me? Instead of simply serving us politely or – if necessary – charging a small fee, he acts as if he had done us a favor. And all this in a tone that made us feel like we were begging. How much does a little salad cost, please? And what's the point of embarrassing the guest with it? When we then expressed our opinion – matter-of-factly and calmly – there was no understanding or insight. No, the waiter started arguing, tried to justify himself, and acted as if he were the one who had been wronged. No "sorry," no "I understand you," not even a hint of friendliness. Instead, everything became even more unpleasant. We've eaten in many Turkish restaurants – by no means only in Germany – and we've never experienced such behavior. In every restaurant, you were greeted with a smile and treated with respect – no matter what you ordered. And above all, you were never made to feel like you were asking for too much or being "treated specially" just because you were given a side dish that was part of the package anyway. We left as a family – disappointed, annoyed, and frankly speechless at such arrogance. For a restaurant that calls itself "deluxe," the experience was anything but. This wasn't just bad service—it was a complete failure in terms of humanity and customer service. Conclusion: Never again. Anyone who values ​​respect, equal treatment, and genuine hospitality should steer clear of this place.

Disappointing experience – never again! We went to Öz Urfa Deluxe at Münsterstraße 43 in Dortmund as a family – mother, father, my little brother, my wife, and I – for my brother's birthday. Unfortunately, this special day was greatly marred by the disappointing visit to this restaurant. The service was a disgrace from the very beginning: unfriendly, irritable, and anything but hospitable. You had the constant feeling of being unwelcome. There was absolutely no sign of the much-praised Turkish hospitality here – and I say that as someone who is Turkish myself and has eaten in many different Turkish restaurants, from the simplest to the most upscale. We ordered two grilled meats and three pides – a truly substantial order – and were served only a simple, warmed-up flatbread with our starters of Haydari and Acılı Ezme (both classic Turkish meze). The table right next to us, however, received the typical lavash bread (thin, Arabic wrap bread), which is usually served with such dips – as is customary in any other Turkish restaurant. And it's served automatically, even if it ends up untouched. When we politely asked, the waiter initially said that lavash is only available with grilled dishes – even though we had ordered two. Then, at the cash register, he gave a different answer: Lavash would only be served upon express request. What now? To us, it seemed as if guests were treated differently here. And that's simply unacceptable. I didn't feel like a guest in this restaurant, but more like an annoying supplicant. The entire atmosphere was unpleasant, the staff rude to the point of insolence – and this at a family dinner for a special occasion. Conclusion: Öz Urfa Deluxe – Deluxe is really just the name here. Poor service, disrespectful treatment, and arbitrary dealings with guests. Definitely the first and last time for us.

We were there on the evening of June 14th, when it was rather quiet. Unfortunately, we were seated directly between larger groups, which wasn't particularly pleasant as a couple. During our stay, we noticed that the table next to us (a group of six) was served tea after ordering – unfortunately, we weren't. It gave us the impression that not all guests are treated equally. The service also seemed rather distant to us – the waiter who took our order didn't even return to our table later. Overall, it wasn't a particularly positive experience for us.

Disrespectful treatment of guests – absolutely not recommended! Our visit to Öz Urfa Deluxe in Dortmund was unfortunately a complete disaster. But acting like someone did you a favor when they just served you something completely normal is completely wrong. When my son approached the waiter about it and expressed his opinion, the waiter started arguing with him instead of simply showing his wit and saying, "Yes, that's true, it wasn't well-worded" or "I'm sorry, I didn't mean any harm." Instead, he was determined to be right – and in doing so, he only further embarrassed himself. My son then stated quite clearly: "We can discuss this until tomorrow morning – you think you're right, I think I'm right – but that won't help anyone. The customer should feel comfortable here and not be lectured or belittled." And that's exactly the point: We didn't feel like welcome guests, but like troublemakers. For a restaurant that calls itself "deluxe," that's an absolute disgrace. For us, one thing is clear: once and never again. That's not how you treat guests – especially not when it's a special occasion like a birthday.

I've been there many times for the all-you-can-eat buffet! It's delicious and has a great selection! It's always been a delight and a joy! I highly recommend it.
