Unfortunately, I made the mistake of ordering even though the spit didn't look fully cooked. This was reflected in the doner; it only contained pale, almost pinkish meat. It's a shame the staff didn't decide to rotate the spit a bit more and increase the temperature. Well, now I'm out €8 and have to hope I haven't gotten food poisoning. :(

The lahmacun was unbearable. Nowhere did it state that only cash payments were accepted, so we had to go to an ATM where we paid an extra 6 euros to exchange our money for cash. Never again.

Everything was very tasty and reasonably priced.

A Turkish kebab shop in the city center of Dortmund. They are very fast and hardworking. The service is also very good. I especially thank Ozan. I recommend it. If you ask why I lowered the score, I would say it could have a larger space.

This was our first time at byXKebap. The Mercimek soup was really delicious. I would have liked the Adana dürüm to have been cooked a little longer; it seemed a bit too "fresh." The doner plates with fries, on the other hand, were very salad-heavy, which is certainly healthy, but not quite what we were expecting. And we were a bit surprised that they didn't accept card payments at the end; you just don't expect that these days. 🙄

The food was decent we ordered Adana kebab (around 18€) and one another dish, dine in vibe was also ok nothing bad and nothing special. Note: They don't take cards so make sure you have enough cash!

I used to eat here regularly and enjoyed it for many years. So it's all the more disappointing how much the restaurant has deteriorated. It started right at the table: the appetizer arrived, but no small plates. Then the drinks came – without glasses. The staff looked everywhere but at our table. They only cleared it after I asked them to. A customer next to us dropped her jacket on the floor. The staff simply walked past it without picking it up – I ended up picking it up myself. As you can see in the photos, the sauce bottles are sticky and obviously haven't been cleaned in a long time. I don't even want to talk about the restrooms. The worst part was paying: they didn't accept card payments. One of us had to wait outside to get cash. I'm certain – that was my last visit! It's a real shame, and Dortmund really doesn't need places like this.

The food was delicious, especially the lamb shanks, which were very tender and flavorful. The staff was friendly and able to answer all our questions. My only complaint is that the floor was a bit slippery, probably due to the cleaning product. I would definitely come back.

The service is always attentive, the service is quick, and the food is not only delicious but also generously portioned. We'd especially like to highlight the extremely friendly waiter in his black shirt: He always greets us with a smile, is attentive, courteous, and his warm manner makes us feel like VIP guests. This outstanding service alone is why we keep coming back to this restaurant – a true showcase for the entire team!

Very bad experience. We ordered İskender, Adana Dürüm, and a doner kebab – all disappointing. The İskender was completely mushy, the sauce tasteless and not a proper tomato sauce. The meat in the doner kebab wasn't cooked properly. With the Adana Dürüm, they asked if I wanted it "complete" – we said yes, and they gave it with cocktail sauce, something I've never seen at other restaurants. "Adana with cocktail sauce" is that the new trend? The waiter asked if everything was okay when I was paying, but ignored my honest answer. Additionally, the waiters talk loudly about other customers while you eat – very unprofessional. And then you can't even pay with a card. On the positive side, there wasn't a long wait, and we even got free meze and bread. The staff behind the counter downstairs were also very friendly and polite. Nevertheless, this was overall our last visit.

I really thought I wasn't by x Kebab. I'm surprised at how badly this restaurant has turned out. The dishes used to be delicious and fresh. You could eat upstairs. When we visited, we were refused this even though the upstairs area was completely free. A very, very weak tomato sauce was put on my Adana skewer, so I couldn't eat it at all and afterwards I had a stomach ache (I hadn't ordered this either, just normal Adana skewers). In the past, grilled dishes came with free salad and starter creams with bread. I mentioned this and the waiter said he would bring it right away, but that didn't happen. My wife ordered Lahmacun with mixed salad and it had almost only onions in it, she didn't like it either. If the boss sees this, I politely ask him to give me my money back or I can eat on the house for once.

I go there often and I like it, but today I got very charred meat, which I can't understand. The person who prepares it can see that, but then they wouldn't give it away for almost €20, it's a shame. The waiters are super nice, and everything else is great, too.

Three of us recently visited the restaurant and, unfortunately, had a consistently negative experience. The wait of approximately 30 minutes for the first dish was already borderline – generally acceptable, but with busy times, faster service should be possible. Even more problematic, however, was the staggered timing of the dishes: First, only one dish was served, which was also cold and tasted completely unconvincing – of course, taste is subjective, but all three guests found the quality unsatisfactory. The additional wait of approximately ten minutes for the remaining dishes was particularly annoying. During this time, the already lukewarm first meal cooled further. When we politely complained about the dish in question, we were simply told that it would be "thrown away" – without any consideration or offer of a replacement. We find this kind of reaction disrespectful and completely inappropriate when dealing with paying guests.

I think the prices are too high - the same dish in a fancy restaurant only costs €2 more and you get twice as much meat. Charging €3.50 for an Uludag drink is ridiculously stingy and excessive. By X Kebap is not a fancy restaurant, more of a simple kebab shop. In short, there is far too little meat, which is not justified for the price. Never again. Oh yes, I will do my research before visiting a restaurant or kebab shop before I waste so much money. I didn't get full at Karisik Izgara's at X Kebap and they should have served twice the meat. The competition does it much, much better and it tastes good there too. So only two stars from me.

Wallah, the food was so disgusting, especially that kebab. It just had tomato sauce on it that looked like it was meant to be pizza.

Really delicious food. We used to eat there regularly. But I think this is the third time the prices have been raised. That's completely unacceptable. We probably won't be coming back.

We were there today and were extremely disappointed. The tomato sauce on the Iskender definitely belongs on a pizza. Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all, so we couldn't even finish it. The place has deteriorated considerably. We won't be coming back.

Best Turkish cuisine in town! What is special is the hot stone, on which the meat roasted on the charcoal grill is served. The restaurant is almost completely full at all times. It is often difficult for night owls to get something to eat because everything is usually sold out within 24 hours.

By far the worst Dürüm in ALL of Dortmund. The meat had no flavor, and the hot sauce was laced with ketchup. Never again.

They do not accept Kredit Card. You have to pay by cash. It is a Standart kebap haus. Price vs quality is effortable.

I ordered Tavuk sis to take away twice today. When I got home I noticed that the order was completely wrong. I find this very disappointing as I was looking forward to my meal. I mentioned it several times in the store that I wanted a tavuk sis, but I didn't feel heard. The store is no longer the same as it was a few years ago. You have definitely lost a customer.

I visited this place with my friend and left disappointed and enraged. I wanted to try out mantis but i literally got scammed. Instead i received a plate with mini mantis, i couldn’t even taste meat in there. It was like i was eating 75% of boiled dough with a tiny bit of meat. Explains why they made it so small cause this way they can actually hide the fact that there’s literally almost no meat in there. Also they poured so much sour cream with chili oil on top, probably to cover up how small and miserable they actually look like. When my friend asked for a bill, i asked a waiter to remove it from my bill cause it wasn’t what i expected it to be. The waiter just spread hands like he can’t do anything about, literally accusing me that it’s what i ordered and nothing can’t be helped. I left this place disappointed, enraged and deceived. The waiter didn’t once come up to us to ask if everything’s okay with our food, so service sucks a lot in this place. I attached photos of what i wanted/what i got. I guess they don’t even do that with their hands, they just bought a package with this little things and just sell a portion for 8€ each. Don’t visit this place unless you want to try some shitty food and leave disappointed. In that case, that would be on you cause the waiter won’t do anything about it and will not want to try to make your experience in their place good enough to come back again.

The İskender was unfortunately disappointing. It was flatbread, but not as it should be - with a good İskender, the bread is crispy at the bottom and soaks up the sauce nicely. Instead of melted butter there was only tomato paste sauce - when asked they said: "No, we won't do that." Service was quick, but no card payment was possible - really impractical these days. The grill plate was okay. Conclusion: If it doesn't have to be, this was my first and last visit. Sorry guys.

I always only eat on the ground floor, a quick, short meal, but the kebab plate was always decent and the staff friendly.

Horrible experience regarding their service. You have to ask for spoon glass and everything else in order to able to eat. They just through food at your table and leave and you are on your own to find cutlery and anything else.

The food is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented, the service is friendly and attentive. The food was good, but it lacked a little of the special taste that we usually appreciate. The service was nice as always, but this time a little slower than usual. Nevertheless, it's still a great restaurant, and we'll definitely be back. Maybe it was just a somewhat stressful day - we're already looking forward to the next visit!

Unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly as prices have risen and unfortunately the service has also declined significantly. We had reserved two tables for 7 people at 7 p.m. and when we arrived, the service knew nothing about a reservation, but since I had personally made a reservation on site and spoke to the employee directly, it was of course clear that there was a reservation, but the employees simply filled the tables. Not recommended – poor service and unhygienic conditions Our iftar visit was a big disappointment. Despite booking for five people, we only got a small table for four in a stuffy room. Everything was saved - no napkins on the table, larger drinks not on the menu, and many dishes were not available. My chicken skewer was served with just a tiny flatbread, there was no dürüm at all. What I find worst is that the waiters ignored our request for faster fries for the hungry child. This just shows that the service there is completely disorganized and inattentive. The fries didn't come until everyone else had finished eating, even though we asked several times. And then there are the unhygienic conditions with the smell of sweat - that's not possible. The prices are far too high for the service offered. Unprofessional, disrespectful and not family friendly - definitely our last visit!

Very bad experience – not recommended! I had a reservation for two people for Iftar during Ramadan. The restaurant called me to confirm the appointment and I told them I would be about 10 minutes late. I was assured that this would not be a problem and that my reservation would remain valid. However, when I arrived my table was already given to someone else! The staff was extremely unfriendly and offered me a place on the stairs instead - an absolute disgrace! There was no organization whatsoever and there was no one with whom I could clarify the problem. I ended up leaving the restaurant with no solution. Conclusion: A very disappointing experience. In this restaurant the customer is absolutely not a priority. I definitely can't recommend it!

I am shocked at this unfriendly service. We were supposed to get a table and were just about to sit down when the waiter asked us: “You’re doing Ramadan, aren’t you?” we honestly answered no. We had to leave the restaurant and he said he couldn't give us a table. I'm shocked

Doesn't even deserve this one star. Went there today with friends and they didn't want to give us a table because we weren't fasting! That's what they said there because we weren't there for İftar but just to eat, even though there were seats available. After arguments we were given a table and we were asked why we weren't fasting. That's nobody's business! In addition, people made fun of the fact that we don't fast. Disrespectful!

So the fact that a restaurant of this size does NOT accept card payments and does not create invoices (total €90) (only shows the total on the device!) only indicates one thing to me..!! I would strongly advise the tax office to pay a visit there! Prices are low (€7.50 for a Dürüm), but the quality of the meat is correspondingly catastrophic. Absolutely gristly minced meat in Adana! Fat pieces in Kuzu Sis! Price or not, in terms of taste, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Doesn't even deserve a star.

Urfa kebab was too salty, there was no soup on the menu, they force people to pay in cash, they don't have post machines, but they didn't put it on any sign because there is no post machine.

Good value for money. I had a lamb skewer and lamb chop. I liked that different dishes can be portioned half-and-half so that you can combine several skewers. The dishes are served on a hot plate. Waited about 5 minutes for free seats. The seats are upstairs on the first floor. A bit tight to sit because you want to make the best possible use of the seating options.

We were by xkebab a long time ago and my rating was also 1 star. Yesterday we visited XKebab again, they were renovating the upper floor and the ventilation system was apparently being overhauled. On the first visit everything on the ground floor was full of smoke. The employees served us very quickly and our food came a maximum of 15 minutes after we ordered for 7 people. The meat was well seasoned and grilled and we all liked it.

There were 6 of us and we weren't allowed to pull two tables that were next to each other together so we could sit together. So we had to sit and eat separately, it wouldn't have disturbed anyone's space if they pulled the tables together! The waiter wasn't exactly polite in his demeanor and we felt absolutely unwelcome as guests! Card payment not possible, only cash! Food was ok but nothing more! We won't come again

Authentic Kurdish cuisine - great staff I went to X Kebap Restaurant yesterday with my family and brothers-in-law. The restaurant has a wide selection of dishes and drinks. There is also a small selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes - but this can still be improved, for example with grilled vegetables. I had a falafel plate and the others ordered meat dishes. Everyone was very happy with the food. I would particularly like to highlight the staff - they are very friendly, courteous and professional. Even though it was very busy, we were served very politely and everything arrived quickly. The restaurant is also very child-friendly. We'd love to come back. Mala we ava be!

We were there for the second time and again we couldn't get a seat. The first time it was too crowded for us and we left. Today we were told to wait 5 minutes and get a seat. After 30 minutes we left because we couldn't get a seat. It's a shame we would have liked to eat here to test it out.

Doner kebab meat wasn't cooked properly, I had gastrointestinal problems for a month and ended up in the hospital because of salmonella poisoning!!!! Never again!!!!

After my last visit, I will avoid the restaurant because I find it a bit disrespectful that they come next to our table every 2-3 minutes and check whether we have finished eating so that other seats are free for new guests. If so, you should think about expanding the space. Food is good but I don't like that kind of thing.

Food was great. Best kebab I've tasted in town. They work hard and the food is prepared quickly (as if on an assembly line). The only disadvantage was that you could not pay by card. They should have reported this first. We only found this out after we were done.
