This place is highly recommended; it tastes delicious and the food is fresh. Hand-grated golden spaetzle, and in the fall/winter, roast goose and duck with homemade dumplings. If there was ever a concern that something wasn't quite perfect, it was immediately corrected. Currently, they have fresh asparagus and a small terrace where you can enjoy the sun. If the service wasn't quite perfect, it was only because they were new temporary staff, and since good employees are hard to find in the restaurant industry, that shouldn't be a reason. The ambiance is rustic, fitting for the old half-timbered house, with good German cuisine at fair prices. During the week, great lunch dishes for around €10. We're very happy that there are still places serving German cuisine. The Kugelbahnweg (ball track) is right nearby, making it a good starting point or a break during a tour. We'll be happy to continue coming 🥰

Update: It's closed again. Not open this year. This time because of illness. I think you want a nice place to live in the countryside and not work. People give the Sternlesberg so that Echterdingen can have a Waldheim that is open again! If you read the many 1-star reviews and the answers from Sternlesberg, you immediately know that an unfriendly, primitive wind is blowing here. It's been being renovated for ages. It is not and will not be finished. It's finally open again - two days a week for a few hours! You just have to offer a fair wage, then you'll get employees. Since there's plenty of sales to be made here, that shouldn't be a problem if you're not stingy.

Top rustic restaurant, with top value for money for the region. Very tasty food and cozy atmosphere. We always enjoy coming here. It is advisable to reserve.

Hier gibt es richtig gute Küche! Wir waren Samstag mittags mit der Familie essen. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht. Der Service immer ansprechbar und präsent. Super freundlich und sehr fix. Die Küche ist einfach der Knaller. Kein Schnick Schnack, dennoch jedes einzelne Gericht sehr gut zubereitet. Ehrliche, schwäbische Küche auf sehr hohem Niveau. Preis und Leistung stimmen hier. Macht weiter so! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

The venison goulash and the porcini mushroom dumplings were really excellent and also great value for money! Service very friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. We would definitely love to come back!

We had dinner there on Easter Sunday because a friend celebrated her 80th birthday there. What I liked about the meal was the salad and the dressing was totally to my liking. Not mad at that. And the potato salad is absolutely amazing. I've never gotten one this good anywhere. It was mild and warm too. What I didn't find so great were the spaetzle. Were not homemade. But in most restaurants you only get ready-made spaetzle from the wholesale market, which is then warmed up and simply lacks the bite. But I can highly recommend the restaurant.

A very nice rustic wine bar with a great outdoor terrace. You can eat very good traditional as well as Spanish tappas there.

We ordered a table and found ourselves in front of a locked door. When we called, they said the cook was sick, but the asparagus table was in front of the door. Thank you for not canceling, we then went on to the Kleine Traube to celebrate my partner's birthday.

Absolutely lovely reception. Get a seat without a reservation. The food was very, very good. The price is a bit on the higher end, but for this service and the quality it is absolutely justified for us. Will visit again as soon as possible. 🙂
