I haven't eaten so well in a long time. I wouldn't know where to start and where to stop because of all the praise. Only one drawback: you are too far away from where we live.

A bit rustic, the seating is very tight and the guests are kept busy. After eating, you can't just sit comfortably but are then asked to pay because the next guests are already waiting in the aisle. You can eat well in a traditional way.

Wow. Finally a rustic German restaurant again. Everything fits here, from the entrance door to the seat to the toilet and creates a harmonious, rustic image. The portions are really good but still very tasty and inexpensive! It's correspondingly good on weekends, so it's advisable to reserve in advance by phone. The service is friendly, courteous and attentive. We didn't lack for anything, on the contrary: every one of our "extra requests" was fulfilled and welcomed :)

A wonderful, beautiful restaurant in Esslingen's old town. They serve the typical roast beef. Delicious, and the cold Coke is simply amazing.

My favorite German restaurant in Esslingen. I always order the ``Treublesteller,'' which is a combination of martaschen, fleischküfle, and rebakäse, which are typical dishes from southern Germany. This seems to be a secret menu, so it's best to make a reservation. Serve this with roasted cartoffel as a garnish. I'm always so busy eating and chatting with friends that I don't have any pictures.

First tip: definitely make a reservation! The second tip. Dreamy little schnitzel. World class schnitzel. It is very loud when the house is full, so if you are sensitive to that, just for information. Service is rather Swabian, not for everyone, which is why only 3 stars here. But it's about the food and it's world class.

This is an excellent place to stop off. Even though we only had a drink, the wonderful smell of schnitzel wafted over to us from the neighboring table. We sat outside in the shade and enjoyed a glass of rosé wine. It also looked very comfortable inside.

Good food, good quality, nice seats, and reserve ahead for seats would be the best. Pricing is of the higher end but the food quality is definitely up there. Overall wonderful experience dining here.

Through a recommendation, we came to this small, rustic restaurant with a cozy atmosphere in the beautiful old town of Esslingen and were thrilled. The welcome was very friendly and even though we didn't have a reservation, we got a nice table. The food was super tasty and the portions are very generous. The tripe and potato salad tasted gigantic. Unfortunately my Cordon Bleu was a bit dark, but the service responded immediately and I got a new one. When I thanked her for that, the lady said that it was a matter of course and that I could take my time eating because she had moved the reservation for this table (I only had 15 minutes) to another table. In general, you have to give great praise to the service ladies, as everyone served very friendly, with a smile and without stress. We felt very comfortable. Thanks for the nice experience. Unfortunately, this is no longer a given these days!

This small restaurant has a very nice ambience. The food there didn't look bad either, but my cheese spaetzle was more spaetzle with a very thick cheese cream sauce. In terms of price, the whole thing isn't very cheap, but it's not completely overpriced either.

Great "hausgemachtes" food. Fantastic service. I cannot comprehend how one man can service all the tables, ask if everything is OK and bring you another drink at the same time. Schnitzel and Zwiebelbraten highly recommended.

Rich and good. The roast and onions was VERY onion forward, but the beef itself was cooked well, and the sauce was great. We had the apple dessert, which tastes of fry oil but was also yummy. The ice cream was so rich! Loud and crowded, but they accommodated us without a reservation and tolerated our weak German.

SECRET TIP!!!!! A little pearl in the middle of Esslingen. Ambiance: small, quaint, cozy. Small old wine bar, lots of wood, totally cozy. Food: clear menu, Swabian oriented. Impeccable, no ifs or buts. Taste wise 5 out of 5. Service: nice, friendly, accommodating. And even when the house is full, always there and helpful. We were there for the first time by invitation from Insider. Rarely have we eaten such good “Swabian cuisine” in restaurants, and in a wonderfully harmonious atmosphere. Here, real homemade quality is offered and served perfectly by very competent and friendly people! The quality lies in the preparation of the food and not - unfortunately now increasingly - in "distracting decoration".

Had dinner at Kleine Traube for the second time today. My partner had sliced ​​pork fillet with fried potatoes. The meat was served tender in a herb sauce. The fried potatoes were perfectly cooked, nice and thin and crispy. I had a venison goulash with bread dumplings and a starter salad. I have rarely had such a fantastic game meal. Perfectly seasoned, the meat again tender as butter, the sauce strong with a slight acidity. Everything is prepared here in-house. The dumplings are wonderful, the salad is great. Potato salad with bacon notes, coleslaw with caraway and cucumber salad with fresh dill. Our conclusion about one of the best restaurants in Esslingen. Rustic ambience, great service, sensational food with attention to detail. Keep it up!!!!! We'll be back 👌😃

Super tasty, home-style food at fair prices. Extra requests are always responded to in a friendly manner. You should definitely make a reservation, it is always busy. Nevertheless, you always get your food quickly. For me personally it would be more practical if you could pay by card, but that doesn't change the quality and the great service.

We just wanted to have a drink, but we were then told that it was a restaurant. There was no vodka either. Tip for you: order a lettuce leaf with your drink if you just want a drink!

We landed here by chance at Esslinger Herbst today (we're not local) and got a seat right away, even though the restaurant was very busy. The waitresses were super nice and accommodating. Then came the food: super delicious Szeged goulash, really tender cooked meat!!!! A huge compliment to the chef!!!! We'll come back when we get the chance!!! Unfortunately it is not possible to pay cashless :(

Unfortunately, my experience at your restaurant was not satisfactory, although the food was tasty. We arrived on November 9th, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. and were assigned a table where, according to the waitress, we could stay until 7 p.m. because it would be reserved after that. At 5:45 p.m. a gentleman, presumably the operator, came to our table and asked us to finish our drinks by 6 p.m. This caused confusion and stress among us guests. A colleague and I had placed a final beer order, but only one of the two beers was delivered. When we asked about the original promise of a table until 7 p.m., I received the answer that we had apparently already been told by phone that reservations were available from 6 p.m., which was not the case because we had spontaneously entered the restaurant without calling beforehand. In addition, the waitress who welcomed us emphasized several times that she would soon be off work, which was reflected in her stressed demeanor. I regret that I cannot return after this stressful experience. It would have been desirable for the operator to discuss the situation with us and suggest an alternative solution, such as a different table. There seems to be a pattern of the owner reacting defensively to negative reviews rather than apologizing for any wrongdoing. In summary, I can say that unfortunately expectations were not met.

There were four of us here. Nice little restaurant. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was super attentive and quick. The schnitzels were great but unfortunately the highly praised potato salad was borderline salty. In my opinion, there should be be improved, as salting is possible but desalting is not possible.
