SECRET TIP!!!!! A little pearl in the middle of Esslingen. Ambiance: small, quaint, cozy. Small old wine bar, lots of wood, totally cozy. Food: clear menu, Swabian oriented. Impeccable, no ifs or buts. Taste wise 5 out of 5. Service: nice, friendly, accommodating. And even when the house is full, always there and helpful. We were there for the first time by invitation from Insider. Rarely have we eaten such good “Swabian cuisine” in restaurants, and in a wonderfully harmonious atmosphere. Here, real homemade quality is offered and served perfectly by very competent and friendly people! The quality lies in the preparation of the food and not - unfortunately now increasingly - in "distracting decoration".

Had dinner at Kleine Traube for the second time today. My partner had sliced ​​pork fillet with fried potatoes. The meat was served tender in a herb sauce. The fried potatoes were perfectly cooked, nice and thin and crispy. I had a venison goulash with bread dumplings and a starter salad. I have rarely had such a fantastic game meal. Perfectly seasoned, the meat again tender as butter, the sauce strong with a slight acidity. Everything is prepared here in-house. The dumplings are wonderful, the salad is great. Potato salad with bacon notes, coleslaw with caraway and cucumber salad with fresh dill. Our conclusion about one of the best restaurants in Esslingen. Rustic ambience, great service, sensational food with attention to detail. Keep it up!!!!! We'll be back 👌😃

Super tasty, home-style food at fair prices. Extra requests are always responded to in a friendly manner. You should definitely make a reservation, it is always busy. Nevertheless, you always get your food quickly. For me personally it would be more practical if you could pay by card, but that doesn't change the quality and the great service.

We just wanted to have a drink, but we were then told that it was a restaurant. There was no vodka either. Tip for you: order a lettuce leaf with your drink if you just want a drink!

We landed here by chance at Esslinger Herbst today (we're not local) and got a seat right away, even though the restaurant was very busy. The waitresses were super nice and accommodating. Then came the food: super delicious Szeged goulash, really tender cooked meat!!!! A huge compliment to the chef!!!! We'll come back when we get the chance!!! Unfortunately it is not possible to pay cashless :(

Unfortunately, my experience at your restaurant was not satisfactory, although the food was tasty. We arrived on November 9th, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. and were assigned a table where, according to the waitress, we could stay until 7 p.m. because it would be reserved after that. At 5:45 p.m. a gentleman, presumably the operator, came to our table and asked us to finish our drinks by 6 p.m. This caused confusion and stress among us guests. A colleague and I had placed a final beer order, but only one of the two beers was delivered. When we asked about the original promise of a table until 7 p.m., I received the answer that we had apparently already been told by phone that reservations were available from 6 p.m., which was not the case because we had spontaneously entered the restaurant without calling beforehand. In addition, the waitress who welcomed us emphasized several times that she would soon be off work, which was reflected in her stressed demeanor. I regret that I cannot return after this stressful experience. It would have been desirable for the operator to discuss the situation with us and suggest an alternative solution, such as a different table. There seems to be a pattern of the owner reacting defensively to negative reviews rather than apologizing for any wrongdoing. In summary, I can say that unfortunately expectations were not met.

There were four of us here. Nice little restaurant. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was super attentive and quick. The schnitzels were great but unfortunately the highly praised potato salad was borderline salty. In my opinion, there should be be improved, as salting is possible but desalting is not possible.

A really good, tasty and still a bit warm potato salad, just like it should be in Swabia. The lentils and sparrows to “lie in”.

For me the best restaurant in Esslingen. The schnitzel is super delicious. Nicely fried in clarified butter and very fluffy. The potato salad was also really good. Here you can end the evening in a cozy atmosphere with a delicious beer. Food came quickly. Service also very friendly. I can warmly recommend it.

Unprofessional and disrespectful – a disappointing evening in the Kleine Traube Unfortunately, our visit to the “Kleine Traube” restaurant was a complete failure. After sitting down and ordering, we had to wait forever for our food. That alone would have been acceptable, but when we politely tried to call a waiter three times, he simply didn't seem to hear us. When we finally spoke to him directly and said, "Hey, we called you three times, don't sleep!", we thought the problem was solved. But then something happened that we have never experienced before: the host, who was apparently the manager of the restaurant, came up to us and confronted us in an extremely rude tone. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, he started yelling at us and demanding respect from us - while at the same time treating us in a highly disrespectful and aggressive tone. This type of confrontation was completely inappropriate and ruined the entire evening. When you go to a restaurant, you not only expect good food, but also respectful treatment. Unfortunately, the “Little Grape” failed completely on both counts. Anyone expecting relaxed and polite service is definitely in the wrong place here. This reflects the situation and conveys what exactly went wrong that evening. I just wanted to eat with my family. 🙂Impossible behavior from the “boss”, a very bad role model.

Really nice restaurant especially the outside area. The food is excellent, very tasty but no card payment is possible. Apart from tax avoidance, I can't think of any reason why you would otherwise force your guests to walk to the bank when they actually just want to have a relaxed meal. I mean I prefer paying in cash, but rejecting it completely is really not up to date.

The beer is great, costs 4.5 euros per glass, the Swabian cuisine turned out to be unexpectedly strange, they brought kidneys with fried potatoes and stewed stomach with fried potatoes, the price is about 13.5 euros, the dish is, well, it’s not for everybody, I didn’t eat even half of it, although the portions are huge. I recommend the establishment.

Great food, great people, great space. This is a must when you visit the town. We ordered the snitzel with kartofensalad (that was delicious). For starters we ordered a sausage and cheese board, and the apple dessert. Everything was great, and the people owning the place are so nice.

Wir hatten einen Tisch auf 19:00 reserviert. Als wir um 19:13 das Restaurant betraten, wurde uns vom Wirt mitgeteilt, er habe den Tisch bereits an andere Gäste vergeben. Auf unseren Hinweis, dass wir wegen Regens nicht exakt pünktlich vor Ort angekommen seine, sagte er, das sei nicht sein Problem. All dies auf eine extrem unfreundliche, ruppige Art, als wenn es eine Gnade sei, von ihm bewirtet zu werden. Unser Angebot, draussen, unter den Schirmen zu essen, wurde unwirsch abgewehrt: "Draußen servier i net!" Eine so arrogante und unfreundliche Art mit Gästen umzugehen ist mir bislang noch nie begegnet. Ich habe einen Punkt vergeben. Null geht nicht, wäre aber angebrachter. Der Wirt hat seinen Beruf verfehlt.
