You simply have to know this place. Quaint, nostalgic interior. Great cook in the kitchen! Dishes to eat and sit down 😁

This small guesthouse is a must-have – the location is top-notch. The rooms may not be brand new, but they're still modern, functional, and clean. The minor flaws are compensated for by the friendly, caring, and helpful management of the guesthouse, led by Mr. Jarcke. The breakfast is plentiful and lovingly prepared. 👍

The food took a little longer, but it was absolutely delicious. It was a bit chilly in the front area, just like the people around. The people of Bautzen would look better with a smile, and the food would surely taste even better. 😁

Went to the breakfast buffet in Wolfgang's Café today and were very happy with the buffet, the service and the ambience, everything was very well prepared and fresh. We'd love to come back.

To get straight to the point, what should I write about the ambience!? Anyone who knows a little about it knows that a field kitchen has the charm of a smoker... the simplest devices lead to a maximum taste experience! The “service” was still from the “old guard”, what could go wrong??? The pea soup with Bowu was as it should be - solid in taste and hot!!!! We hiked around the lake from Bautzen, so a welcome break and refreshment! Without a lot of frills around it - practical, goal-oriented, that's how we like it! Thank you!!!

I'd known "Den Echten" since the 1960s as a good restaurant, and now I've rediscovered "Zum Echten" as a guesthouse with everything a traveler needs: good rooms with bathrooms, breakfast made to order, a central location, and the windows are airtight, keeping out the noise—it's quiet at night! Prices are kept low. All in all, it's well worth it.

Meals are tasty and staff is very pleasant. The toilet is free but horrible, especially that for women. Table clothes are significantly dirty.

Addendum: The employees contacted us today and apologized. They're sorry they thought it was in our interest. Apology accepted! Everything's fine 👍🏻 We'd love to come back. We went to brunch today with the theme of pasta and sea. The food and service were top notch as always. The table situation, however, was absolutely unacceptable. A table for 19 people was ordered for a birthday party. There would have been enough space for that. As a long table, U-shape or L-shape. What we got were two completely separate tables. We have often been there with many people and there were always large tables, but today was not satisfactory. The mood was in the basement right from the start. Very unfortunate! Dear team, you can do better! Small side note: Please put small table waste containers on the tables again. For leftover fruit etc. from cocktails and other small things.

Food was ordered over an hour in advance for 5:30 p.m. - I had my box shortly before 6:00 p.m. Why I pre-ordered is a mystery to me. The sushi tasted really good. But the price-performance ratio is still not right; the “box for 2 people” is more sufficient for one person. Wasabi was completely missing, soy sauce was far too little - but the place was filled with some kind of salad. But I ordered a sushi box, not a salad box. Overall, I would no longer order sushi there at the current price structure.
