Alter Bierhof in Bautzen

Staff was totally overwhelmed. After ordering the food, we had to ask after 1 1/2 hours whether and when our food would come. We then ate after 2 hours (8:45 p.m.) - an absolute NO for a recommendation.

I have to say the service is not the best. Yes, the food was great but the stale supposed Vita Cola was disappointing.

The waitresses were all very nice and asked several times if we had any further requests. We can really recommend beef roulade, prepared very lovingly on the plate 😊 Otherwise the drink prices are rather more expensive when it comes to juice, but all in all ok. Only the waiting time was rather long at almost an hour, but we hadn't made a reservation. Complete service was super nice! :) 5 STARS for this

It's a shame that so little is made of the opposite. Top location with a super nice sun terrace. But...the service ruins it all. Bad-tempered service who doesn't understand much about service and gastronomy. Guest requests were not taken into account, there was no time and it didn't suit her at all to put up a parasol. Very unfortunate. We would have liked to eat something more, but it wasn't worth it for us. The waiting time was also too long for us. The same thing at the next table. We pulled the ripcord and went somewhere else where the guest is more valued.

I can only recommend a visit. The menu is varied and everyone will find something tasty. The staff is attentive and friendly. The plus point in this restaurant is definitely the view. Table reservations are easily possible online.

Delicious food on a beautiful outdoor terrace

Unfortunately we were turned away from the terrace when the sun was shining "it was too cold" The most beautiful panoramic view is advertised. We left without lunch.

The view of the city is well worth seeing. The staff here is mostly very unfriendly. The food is okay, but the new menu is a bit confusing. The waiting time for the food was 1 1/2 hours.

We were invited there for a birthday. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great!!! Unfortunately, with 12 people at the table, the food came so differently that the first one was almost finished while the last one had just received it. But things like that can be improved 🤗 gladly again.

Very nice outdoor space with a view of the old town bridge and the mountains. Delicious food and good selection of drinks and beers. Unfortunately the service wasn't that good. You sat dry for a long time and the dishes weren't cleared away for ages. If the waiter had been at the table more often, I would have had at least two more drinks. Not like that.

I really enjoy being there. In summer you can spend a few nice hours outside with a beautiful view. Food is very tasty and there is a good selection. Change requests are no problem. Service is always friendly and quick. Keep it up. Pre-ordering would be advisable.

The view from the outside terrace was particularly beautiful. Unfortunately we only got a seat in the last corner, probably because there were two of us. Even when we asked, we were not allowed to move to a free table. Food was good and the price-performance ratio was also good.

Beautiful decor and picturesque atmosphere in the vault. From the panoramic window and from the terrace there is a wonderful view of the famous Bautzen Peace Bridge as well as the Tanner's Bastion and the Spree Valley. Very large selection on the drinks menu and first-class food. The menu could be formulated a little more clearly. A clear recommendation.

Very good restaurant in the heart of Bautzen. Delicious food and courteous service. From the beer garden you have a great view of the Friedensbrücke.

After the summer theater we were hoping for a nice evening with good food. Unfortunately, the service was more than unfriendly, please and thank you were not part of their vocabulary. After a good hour and a half the food came, it was fine. The noises from the kitchen (loud) were omnipresent. Sorry, that's not possible at all with today's prices.

During a short stop in Bautzen we spontaneously stopped at the “Alter Bierhof”. We ate the warm apple strudel and really enjoyed it. The longer wait was totally worth it. The service man (possibly the boss?) was quite abrupt...maybe it was the bad weather that meant we couldn't use the beautiful terrace. But we would still eat there again. The ambience is extraordinary, you feel like you are in the Middle Ages and the dishes read very interestingly.

I was hoping for more from the reviews. The selection of meat-free dishes is small. I chose the cheese wedges. Since it didn't say anything, I assumed it was some kind of breaded sliced ​​cheese. The corners were more like a kind of feta cheese, which I didn't like. The homemade lemonade didn't convince me either. A pity!!

Strolled past downtown Bautzen on Sunday and spontaneously decided to eat here. Great view, great food and nice ambience. Full marks for us. The beer tasting is a cool idea. :-) We'll definitely come back to eat again next time we visit BZ.

We arrived 15 minutes early and the table was prepared very quickly. The food was very good, the burger and the henman's meal are a real recommendation. The view from the terrace was also very nice.

The first impression at the entrance was inconspicuous, but if you walk through the restaurant to the back onto the terrace you have a breathtaking view and a great ambience to enjoy a very delicious home-made meal. The selection of drinks is enormous and the beer is very tasty. The service staff is very accommodating. I can only recommend it. I wish all our guests a good appetite in the future too!

We had dinner with 6 people on Saturday evening. Table was pre-booked. When we came we had the choice of indoor or outdoor. We chose outside because the table inside was quite small and cramped for 6 people. The view from the terrace is very nice. Unfortunately there were no cushions on our chairs and we weren't asked. We then got some ourselves because it got a little cooler. Drinks and food were good, I expected it to be a little better based on previous reviews. Sweet potato fries were great.

Great ambience, great service and the food was brilliant. But the outdoor seating with the view is simply unbeatable. We really liked it and would like to enjoy this view in winter. So see you again.

Nice view from the terrace, average quality of the dishes, service at the table and counter was decidedly listless to unfriendly, about 30 minutes waiting time

We ate in the old beer yard on Easter Sunday and had reserved a place outside in advance. When we arrived at the restaurant, we first stood in front of the counter, behind which three employees were busy chatting, without making the effort to at least greet us or even accompany us to our seats. After waiting for several minutes, we were asked to go to the terrace and ask the colleague there about our reserved table. Because of the holiday, we accepted this somewhat rude "welcome" - after all, the employees had enough stress on such a working day. When we arrived on the terrace, we found the colleague in question there, whom we spoke to about our reservation as instructed. He also made a visibly stressed and short impression, then went to our reserved table, which was fully occupied, and spoke to the guests at the table. He then came to us again and asked for our last name and whether we had made a reservation (he had already received this information from us a few minutes ago). When we had given him the desired information - slowly becoming a little impatient, we had already been waiting for quite some time to finally be shown our seats by an employee of the restaurant and were standing on the very narrow terrace in the middle of the path between the other guests sitting - he went to the table again to talk to the guests sitting there. Apparently our reserved table was mistakenly given to other guests. We then stood for a few minutes as ordered and not picked up on the otherwise full terrace (which, by the way, offers a wonderful view over Bautzen), because the incorrectly placed guests vehemently defended their seats. Another colleague was then called in and went back and forth a few times until someone turned directly to us again. I have to add at this point that we are really understanding in such “exceptional situations” (holiday, full restaurant, supposedly made mistake that causes additional stress). What didn't work at all, however, was the way in which we were simply left standing on the terrace for the second time (obviously trying to solve the problem, but not communicating with us at all) with a whining toddler, standing in the blazing midday sun without the slightest information about what was going on and without offering us at least a temporary place to wait. So some time passed until the waiter finally offered us an alternative table where we could temporarily wait until the next guests said goodbye and a table became available. At this point we had almost lost our desire to go to the restaurant - if we had had another option, we would definitely have gone to the next inn. Due to the holiday situation and the time now already advanced (we wanted lunch and it was already well after 1 p.m. at this point) we decided to stay anyway. Fortunately, we were able to move to a real table quite quickly and place our order. The drinks came very promptly, but unfortunately we had to wait another hour for the food. In summary one can say that both drinks and food were absolutely fine. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is also appropriate. At this point I would also like to mention once again the remarkable location of the outdoor seating area. Especially when the weather is nice, you can sit here really well and have a great view. On the other hand, there is, in my opinion, the unsuccessful personnel planning for a public holiday - I ignore the insufficient seating planning despite existing online reservation tools, as well as the lack of willingness to communicate and friendliness of the staff.

-Alter Bierhof- is highly recommended, and not just because the waiters are attentive and friendly. But also because the ambience and food harmonize wonderfully with each other. Simply grab a parking space on the market square or from the Spree, on foot with a slight climb😅 to the restaurant. In any case, the journey is worth it as the price/performance ratio is absolutely fair. See you again...😉🍽👋🏼

Went there for lunch on Easter Sunday. Gave selected dishes from the menu. Had the mustard soup and the "old guard's specialty" tasted great! The organization and friendliness of the employees are also top!👍 Clear recommendation!👍

I just had dinner with my fiancée and was very surprised by the service, the ambience and the food. A menu that is convincing and definitely has it all. The waiter was always available, even if there were a lot of guests there at the same time as us. We'll definitely be back!

Despite the restaurant being full, we received extremely friendly and competent service. The food was a smooth A. Short waiting times and a cozy atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

The burger was very drenched in sauce and more like a milk bun and the sweet potatoes were partly burnt.

With a great view of the Bautzner Friedensbrücke, you can enjoy great German home cooking in a rustic ambience. The creative design of the dishes leaves nothing to be desired. The eye eats with you, and it definitely has a lot to eat with you 😊

I had a large salad with breaded mushroom heads that were fried to absolute death. Unfortunately. The salad was very fresh. The atmosphere is rustic and very cozy. Maybe I'll come back again to eat something different.

We were there with a group, of course planned for the long term. We waited 45 minutes for the first drinks, then another 65 minutes for the food. The food was good, but we waited in vain for the Worcestershire sauce. All in all, we won't be coming back again.

Wir waren vor kurzem hier essen und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Ambiente gemütlich, kamen spontan und haben einen Tisch ohne Reservierung bekommen, obwohl für später alles ausgebucht war. Essen war super lecker, auch der Preis war dafür in Ordnung - Qualität kostet nun mal etwas mehr - und die Speisekarte war sehr originell. Alles super. Hier werden wir wieder her kommen.

Es war so schön alles richtig gut gedeckt das Personal war total nett hat auch bisschen mit uns geredet das Essen hat so gut geschmeckt also wirklich nur empfehlenswert werden auf jedenfall wiederkommen!

Flur riecht stark vergammelt. Bedienung eher dürftig. Essen geschmacklich gut, dafür Portionen sehr klein. Auch nach Vorspeise und Hauptgang immer noch hungrig. Nicht zu empfehlen

Anders als der Name vielleicht vermuten lässt ist hier kein Bier-Spezialitäten-Restaurant. Qualität der Speisen und Bedienung waren sehr gut. Warum auf der Speisekarte die Angaben zu Allergenen fehlen ist unverständlich. Das beachten doch nur betroffene Gäste. Die Kellnerin hat sich um Auskunft bemüht und mit Abstand kann ich sagen, dass es stimmte.

Gute Auswahl an Speisen und schmackhaft. Die Bedienung war etwas überfordert. Trotzdem eine gute Empfehlung und kommen gerne wieder.

Das Essen und Ambiente waren sehr gut und schön. Als Nutzer des Gutscheinschlemmerblocks fühle ich mich aber abgezockt. Ich nutze diesen schon das ganze Jahr und habe diesen immer vorm Bezahlen mit abgegeben. Immer wurde mir freundlich mitgeteilt, daß man mir das teurere Essen statt des Günstigeren erlassen hätte. Also genau andersrum als im Heft beschrieben. Hier im Alten Bierhof wurde mir dagegen mitgeteilt, man könne diesen Gutschein nun nicht annehmen, da ich das vor der Bestellung hätte mitteilen müssen. Welchen Unterschied hätte das dann gemacht? Hätte ich eine andere Karte bekommen oder einen intensiveren Service? Sehr schade. Service und Entgegenkommen sehen für mich anders aus! 90km Fahrt für Abzocke…

Altertümlichen aber nicht altes Restaurant mit sehr guten Speiseangebot. Klein aber super lecker.

Eine sehr schöne Gaststätte, der Steal passt sehr gut in die Altstadt Bautzen’s. Das Essen war wie erwartend sehr gut. Das Service - Team ist sehr sehr freundlich, motivierte Junge Mitarbeiter die Spaß an ihrer Arbeit haben. Großes Lob gilt hier vor allem an Justin und Julia. Was sie unbedingt testen müssen wenn sie im alten Bierhof sind, ist das Hausbier. Sehr leckeres Bier. Nicht zu Herb und perfekt and einem schönen Abend. 10/10 Sterne für dies Gaststätte.

Haben 1 h auf die Bestellung gewartet. Kam dann irgendwann. Hat nicht unseren Erwartungen entsprochen. Ambiente war sehr schön, alter Gewölbekeller, authentisch hergerichtet. Gute Bierkarte aber das wars dann auch.

Wir haben ein Senfsüppchen gegessen, und hat wunderbar geschmeckt, passt eben zu Bautzen

Sowohl das Essen und die Getränke als auch der Service sind wunderbar und weiter zu empfehlen.

In einer sehr schönen Atmosphäre mit Aussicht von der Terrasse kann man hier gut Essen und wird von aufmerksamen Servicekräfte bedient. Preise OK, entsprechen aber nicht vollkommen der Leistung.
