Something different... Mustard everywhere! I'd been looking forward to this visit to Senfstube for a while, and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff and a lovely restaurant. The food selection is huge... I couldn't quite decide, since there was mustard everywhere!

Anyone who comes here will love it. Mustard, Bautzner, is the best and most important ingredient. I was surprised, but the mustard in the mashed potatoes is absolutely delicious, and the mustard schnitzel is also worth recommending. The service was very nice, friendly, and accommodating. Reservations are required.

An absolute must-visit when in Bautzen! Very delicious food, beautifully located in the old town, and served by very friendly staff. Parking is difficult. We'll definitely be back.

We received excellent and prompt service. The staff is very dedicated and courteous. The food is prepared with great craftsmanship and traditional methods. The menu also includes vegan and vegetarian dishes, which is a huge plus. The seasonal asparagus menu leaves nothing to be desired. We'll definitely be back!

The Senfstube is a great restaurant in Bautzen's old town with delicious home-style cooking. It's perfect for a stroll along Schloßstraße afterward. Only the desserts could be improved.

All kinds of mustard dishes are available, including soup and liquor. It is often full, I recommend booking in advance. It is an interesting gastronomic experience.

We were here for a family meal. We received a friendly welcome. There was a plentiful selection of food, including a separate children's menu. We didn't have to wait long for our food. Everyone enjoyed the food and was full.

We went out to eat with a larger group on May 1st and unfortunately had to endure longer waiting times. That somewhat tarnished the positive impression. Nevertheless, the food was very good and fairly priced, the gentleman at the service was very friendly!

Wiweren eaten in the parlor on Easter Sunday. The large salad plate with chicken was good but not a treat. The mustard schnitzel was “goes like that” The beer was very good. About the service: It wasn't there! The lady who managed the terrace that day either didn't feel like it or didn't care. After 25 minutes (she had already passed us 6 times... where she had placed us) we were just about to leave when she took pity on us. The fact that other guests who were there before us left without ordering anything didn't bother the lady in the least. Added to this was her fake, unfriendly manner...

Bautzener Senfstube - that raises expectations really high! It was a celebration for us to be guests here! At short notice we secured a table for the same evening in the afternoon - that was our duty. Service: Now to the freestyle: We sat a little apart, very quiet and received excellent service from Jodocus from the first to the last moment! Very friendly, attentive, quick and accommodating! The guest has the feeling that someone has found their calling here. Food: Bautzen mustard roast, sauerkraut and dumplings on the one hand, and salmon with noodles in honey mustard sauce! To top it all off, the Vainlle mustard ice cream! Very happy again - a feast for all senses!!!

There are certainly other very good restaurants in Bautzen. But we went to this restaurant just because of the history and we weren't disappointed! Simply a simple decor from the past, but the food was delicious and of course there were also dishes without mustard ;-)

The service was very good, the atmosphere was cozy, but the food was very poor. It was tasteless and barely seasoned (if at all) and the only thing you could taste was the mustard. The food was well prepared, but the taste could still be improved and components could be added that complement the taste of the mustard so that the mustard taste does not stand alone. Rustic restaurant in downtown Bautz. It's better to pre-order on the weekend otherwise there will be a shortage of seats. Draft beer is around 5 euros, food is around 18-23 euros. Everything tastes delicious and is sufficient. Parking is relatively difficult. The best thing to do is to park your car at Schützenplatz and walk the few hundred meters through the narrow streets of Bautzen.

An extremly nice restaurant. Focused on using local mustards created incredible tasting food. The Austrian Schnitzel got pimped to its best, roasted or grilled chicken, pork or beef get with mustard hull or topping pimped to its Best. A Great local restaurant offering space in- and outside. An appetizer like an mustard soup and vanille ice with mustard topping is fulfiling the menu. Most loved place in Bautzen!

Yes, I can definitely recommend it, we were here on a Saturday lunchtime and there were almost 10 people there. We were given a comfortable place without prior reservation. I was able to enjoy schnitzel au four with seasoned meat and cheese, with fried potatoes...🤟

The food was very tasty, unfortunately I have to deduct a star for the substandard service that argued with us after the food was delivered incorrectly. Another star for the rather high prices that are then charged with outrageous fees for changing side dishes, ketchup and mayo as well as taking away leftovers.

We were looking for a short-term opportunity to enjoy New Year's Eve well fortified. When I made my reservation by phone, a table was very kindly reserved for me in the afternoon. The menu was clear and the selection was great. The meals were delicious. The fire meat was tender and had just the right amount of spiciness. The zander also left nothing to be desired, especially when paired with the peanut mashed potatoes. The service was excellent and very nice. No long waiting times for drinks or food.

Food was good but not great! Starter, the salad was very good, schnitzel with French fries was very dry, the meat was also too dry, fire meat was a kind of very spicy goulash, difficult to estimate the taste because it was very spicy! Service was friendly, only it took too long to order the first drink and we waited a long time for the food and the service was never seen again. Reason, one person is simply far too small for the size. The young woman did her best, but there were simply too many tables for her to handle.

There were 8 and 2 halves. Good service, all dishes came at the same time and were beautifully prepared. A small point of criticism: the knives could be sharper. Gladly again see you soon.

Overall okay. Prices are too expensive, but you can tolerate that during the Christmas season. What's not possible is that we had to wait an hour for the first drinks and another 45 minutes for the food. I felt sorry for the two girls who served the drink. It definitely wasn't because of them. We can't understand how such a small team can manage everything at Christmas. Since the food couldn't make up for everything, that was probably the last time.

The food here was an absolute disaster, I strongly do not recommend it. We had two types of soup and one main course and everything tasted like it came from a station stand. The waitress was trying to manage a full restaurant when the town was filled with Advent tourists. A big disappointment for us for the money. For €40, we would eat like royalty.

We went here without a reservation and were given a table in a separate, shared room. At first it was ok, but later a slightly larger group came into the separated area and it got very, very loud. Otherwise everything was great, the service was very friendly and the food was very good.

Too long waiting times for the drinks, half an hour until we had the drinks. The food was so-so. It didn't taste good and the waiting time was also very long. The duck was very tough, you could hardly cut it, let alone chew it. The waiter was in a bad mood the whole evening and the guests noticed it. It was noticeable that the workforce had changed and was overloaded.

Mustard is actually the program. Despite the fact that I'm not a huge mustard fan, the schnitzel I had was really tasty. My wife's Bratwurstburger looked great and was equally delicious. Can recommend the restaurant!

A very cosy restaurant with nice decoration and good food with variety of options. I tried their pumpkin schnitzel from their autumn menu and was satisfied. However, I don’t know if they don’t like English speakers or single guests but the service was unexpectedly bad. I really do not think speaking German should be a requirement for tourists but the lady who took my order seemed not to think so, as she only spoke German to me and albeit I was speaking English, did not offer an English menu which I believe should have been even on the table default as the restaurant is in a very touristic area. She did neither visited my table again after bringing the drink nor made any eye contact or so until I wore my jacket to go to the bar to pay. The gentleman who brought the food on the other hand was more welcoming.

Here it's all about mustard, as befits a mustard town. I've been there several times and it's become, so to speak, my favorite pub in Bautzen. And I was never dissatisfied. That alone deserves five stars. I'm sure you can always find some fly in the ointment, but there isn't one that I can or want to remember. Just good, hearty food and good beer. What stands out are the seasonal dishes adapted to the season. And if you really don't like mustard at all, there are also dishes without mustard.

We've been to the mustard room many times. The employees are all very friendly and attentive. Everything tastes great here. The mustard schnitzel is particularly great. However, the portion has now shrunk so much that it's more of a children's dish. Even with fried potatoes as an additional side dish for 2.50, it's just a children's plate.

From the outside, the restaurant looks very inviting thanks to the glowing fairy lights in the window. But that's all you can say about the ambience. It seems uncomfortable inside. A few tables, a ceiling lamp that is far too big in an empty room. When making the online reservation, we specified our wedding date to emphasize that we would have liked a nice seat. Ultimately we were seated in front of the cloakroom, even though there were other unreserved tables available. To be honest, the food shocked us a lot. Pot roast (tough as a shoe sole) bedded on watery, tasteless Brussels sprouts. A true work of art to cut the sole of a shoe on a plate that is much too small without the Brussels sprouts rolling away. Who would come up with such an idea? The pieces of wild goulash could be found in the sauce made with mushy mushrooms. The waitress wasn't having a good mood either. Very, very unfortunate. We do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We have had the Senfstube recommended by many people, but unfortunately we cannot confirm this praise... The bratwurst burger was just a small and thin burger patty and almost €20 is already overpriced, especially since the bacon wasn't even remotely crispy but rather raw. Only the quantity of fries was ok. Unfortunately, drink prices were now horrendous. The following words can be found about the service: An extra request was fulfilled, which was courteous, but otherwise the plates weren't cleared away for ages, nobody asked if everything was good and unfortunately we had to get the cutlery ourselves. There was certainly a lot going on that evening, but for a highly praised restaurant you can be sure that the “basics” work. The atmosphere is generally very nice, we really liked it! If you want to eat vegetarian, you have to search the menu for a long time until you find something.

Very nice restaurant with a good menu. But pink roast duck was very hard and the skin was rubbery and you couldn't eat it. The dish was very dry as there was no sauce and for €24. Too bad. But otherwise I think it's delicious. I just had bad luck with the duck breast.

Had a meal here and left feeling full! Traditional German good cuisine. Food was delicious (could have been a little warmer) we ordered mayo and ketchup after our food arrived, unfortunately the waitress forgot this, which can happen. I don't think it's a bad thing at all. Ambience and music were nice. Waitress (think that's the boss with the blonde hair) was super friendly. We would love to come back when we are in Cottbus.

The mustard schnitzel was outstanding, very tasty. I also ordered extra cauliflower in mustard sauce, slightly fruity note which we liked. Scrambled eggs with chanterelles and potato mustard puree are also very good. Top courteous service, no long waiting times on weekday evenings.

I had cauliflower with mustard sauce. It was okay, but my grandma makes it better and cheaper than €16.90. The cars rumbling past were a bit annoying, but the immobile grandmas also wanted to go to the mustard shop... However, the Nicolai ruins next door with a view down to the Spree are worth a trip to Bautzen. Best with a night watchman tour.

Unfortunately, after waiting 30 minutes on the terrace in beautiful sunshine, we were not recognized as guests.

We 4 people + 2 dogs came to the restaurant around 5 p.m. on a Friday. I wanted to reserve a table on the terrace by phone, unfortunately that wasn't possible, but I was told it shouldn't be a problem getting a table... That's how it was, in a super nice atmosphere, with a view of the historic Schloßstrasse.... The service was super friendly and accommodating (water for the dogs, etc.) the food was served quickly, we had, among other things, the eggs in mustard sauce with cauliflower (unfortunately the cauliflower was frozen) we ordered another portion of mustard sauce, which came without charge, then we also had the crust and the roast pork, which was all very tasty. At the end we tried the mustard schnapps, but it wasn't our cup of tea. All in all, it was delicious and really recommended.

Mustard is really the key word here. As far as we know, there is no dish without mustard. The service is very nice and funny. The prices are mustardy. Food interesting, good, but not outstanding. Delicacies: The linocuts on the walls are very interesting.

We had reserved online with the desire to sit outside. The waitress told us that they don't accept reservations for the outside area. Unfortunately there was no information about this online. In fact, there was still a table for six people available. Unfortunately we were denied this. Both waitresses wanted us to be "invisible"...that's our feeling...well...we then went next door to Cosimo's at La Nonna...what a great Italian! The food was fantastic and so was Cosimo! The Bautzener Senfstube is not recommended... it's a shame... we left a small fortune with Cosimo🥳... it should probably be that way... smile😉
