We recently visited the Sorbian restaurant Wjelbik in Bautzen and were overall very satisfied. The historic ambiance of the approximately 600-year-old natural stone vault creates a cozy atmosphere.
Our chosen dishes, the cordon bleu and the rump steak, were excellently prepared and flavorful—solid as always.
However, we were disappointed that our mention of a birthday went unnoticed when making our online reservation. If the reason for the reservation is asked, we expect it to be taken into account. Otherwise, this question could be omitted. Such details add to the personal touch and appreciation.
Despite this minor shortcoming, we can recommend the Wjelbik for its excellent cuisine and unique ambiance.
I know Indian cuisine well, have been to India twice and regularly eat Indian food in Berlin. Unfortunately, what I received today had little to do with good Indian cuisine. I ordered "Saag" with spinach, garlic, ginger and Indian spices - actually. Unfortunately the food was bland and had hardly any taste. At €8.90, was this portion absolutely overpriced?
We ordered the large sushi platter for 4 people as well as the seaweed salad.
Ordering by phone went smoothly and the sushi was ready for pickup on time.
The operators are incredibly friendly and strive to provide good service.
Now about the sushi itself:
The plate was beautifully prepared and a real eye-catcher! The taste was also more than convincing and at a very good price. A sushi variation to enjoy!
We can therefore only warmly recommend Grandma Van!
The only small drawback would be that it is a bit difficult to see the menu and we could only find it in the pictures in the reviews. However, this does not detract from our rating.
It's like an experience gastronomy... it's very relaxed and there's a cheeky saying every now and then... big selection of food, the price is OK and the food is quite good for a snack.
It was our first time in a Russian restaurant and we were very surprised by the fresh preparation and it was a great experience. The taste was absolutely top and we can only recommend it so that places like this stay preserved. We will come back because it was really delicious.
A wonderful restaurant. You feel like you're in the Middle Ages. You have to see this. The food is delicious and the service is very friendly.
There is a clever one in the “Lehnsbrief”.
Menu hidden. This restaurant is an absolute must in Bautzen!

I had dinner at Sakura Sushi Bar with my wife today and we loved it!
It will definitely be our new favorite place for sushi.
The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made the evening even more pleasant (big praise to the entire team!!!).
The restaurant is also very clean and tidy, which is an important criterion for us (especially when it comes to sushi!).
The food was simply delicious – freshly prepared and a delight.
There is nothing to criticize at all.
We can only warmly recommend Sakura Sushi Bar and look forward to our next visit!
