We recently visited the Sorbian restaurant Wjelbik in Bautzen and were overall very satisfied. The historic ambiance of the approximately 600-year-old natural stone vault creates a cozy atmosphere. Our chosen dishes, the cordon bleu and the rump steak, were excellently prepared and flavorful—solid as always. However, we were disappointed that our mention of a birthday went unnoticed when making our online reservation. If the reason for the reservation is asked, we expect it to be taken into account. Otherwise, this question could be omitted. Such details add to the personal touch and appreciation. Despite this minor shortcoming, we can recommend the Wjelbik for its excellent cuisine and unique ambiance.

I am a regular guest and am always completely satisfied. So far I've found everything really tasty and fresh. Highly recommend.

It's like an experience gastronomy... it's very relaxed and there's a cheeky saying every now and then... big selection of food, the price is OK and the food is quite good for a snack.
