Wonderful historical rooms, very good food and unique beer that is only available here. Friendly service, everything is right here, this will probably become our favorite restaurant ;-)

If you like it medieval, this is the place for you. Hearty traditional dishes and buffets, served directly at the table. Drinks come from jugs and even the waiters and waitresses are dressed accordingly. There was also a Minnmonk there who wasn't necessarily needed. Musically ok but his delivery is borderline

Food is very good. The beer too. But this restaurant is not hospitable. We were there on a Saturday lunchtime. The place in the sun on the terrace was too warm. There were 3 free tables in the shade that they wanted to keep free for large groups, which of course didn't come on a Saturday lunchtime. It's such a shame when such great restaurants are run by such bad staff.

The furnishings are very rustic, fitting for the Mönchshof. The service staff is very diligent in looking after the guest. My meat was past the point which made it a bit dry. I can still recommend the Mönchshof.

Very nice atmosphere with lots and lots of attention to detail! You should have plenty of time to be able to appreciate the creative diversity. The food was excellent and, as far as can be judged, authentic. The beer tastes excellent, every size is available from 0.25 - 1.5 l, from tasting glasses to enjoyment buckets. Everything beautifully made from clay, served at rustic wooden tables in the rustic restaurant or on the terrace with a view. Service very friendly and in a good mood. The menu in the original style and Fraktur font was very challenging to read, but funny and creative. We'd love to come back!

Very authentic place with nice beer but unfriendly staff. We were puzzled by the waiter’s attitude and felt unwelcome from the very first minute. We feel sorry for the tired, nervous and unhappy waiter-monk. Please, let him take a vacation!

The ambience, food and especially the service was great. If you are traveling in Bautzen, this restaurant is worth a stop. The entire decoration, the dishes (pottery jugs, etc.) and the menu are an absolute highlight. The whole atmosphere is just great. Even the staff wear monks' robes. You feel like you've been transported back to another time. Price-performance is right. We'd love to come back.

Before visiting the Burgtheater we had dinner at your house. Food and drinks were excellent. The dim lighting has already been mentioned by other visitors. Although after a while you got used to it. The waiters moved around the dining room at a pace that created an unpleasant rush and unrest. There wasn't actually a reason for this race because the waiting times weren't too long for us. Unfortunately, two requests for changes to the menu were registered but not implemented.

Simply a quaint restaurant. Staff very friendly and food was excellent. We really liked the atmosphere. Price performance was perfect. Portions very pleasant. All in all we were very satisfied.

The concept is absolutely harmonious, the ambience inside and outside, the clothing of the employees, the pottery, the menu... great. Starters, dessert were great⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, but both main courses didn't taste that good for us. Nevertheless, we can highly recommend it. The service was super nice, open-minded and considerate. It's worth a visit.

I can only recommend. Excellent delicious food and rustic gastronomy. You are even served by a monk. Price-performance ratio is perfect.

I rate my own experience with this restaurant as very negative. On Wednesday 12.6. we stopped here as a group of 15. After consumption, we asked for separate bills, and in some mysterious way an arrears appeared. Despite the fact that we all paid our expenses... The waiter informed me that the card payment did not go through, but as I later found out, the amount was deducted from my account. A friend only had one small beer for the whole evening, but she was charged for two large beers. And even so, there was still an arrears amounting to 10.40 euros. I consider such an approach a fraud. I definitely do not recommend the company!

Quaint restaurant, nice service and good food.

Short and sweet. Reservation was easy. Ambience was great. Service was top. Food sufficient and not overloaded. I read a few 1* star reviews and have no idea which restaurant they were in.

A must for every tourist! Whether you like it or not, you have to go there!

We had dinner there on Friday evening and the reservation went very well. The staff very friendly and competent. Every question about food was answered. The food was really delicious 😋 and was served relatively quickly. It was so good that we went there again on Saturday.

Unfortunately a bit disappointed, I had promised more. I would never order a salad again, just leafy lettuce without fresh tomatoes, cucumbers or peppers. When I told the blonde waitress the answer was, we don't have it. Doesn't work at all.....

The fish soup is something different and very, very good. The Allerleyplatte is a slaughterhouse platter with local sausage and very good lard. With black house bread. It's all a clear recommendation. Staff very polite, courteous and warm. The ambience corresponds to the name and is very cozy. Thank you for the lovely evening.

A perfect Sächsische German experience Pros: 1. Ambience is medieval German like. 2. Quick service with smile. 3. Free Internet. 4. Great local beer available in good old German glasses. 5. Food is nice and hot. 6. Perfect place to bring your family for a good German experience. Cons: 1. Maybe food could have gone better, but I will still say the level was good enough.

We had a wonderful and entertaining evening. The food was very tasty and the honey wine is highly recommended, but we couldn't really find out which company it was from, I think it was made especially for the boss. The entertainment was just great. Who If you like the Middle Ages, this is the place for you. Not to forget, of course, the friendly service, who are also dressed in medieval clothing. We'll definitely be back

The inn has its own parking space - a big plus in Bautzen's old town! The guest room has a nice, rustic atmosphere. And despite being at full capacity, the food arrived quickly. We'd love to come back!

Before we returned, monk Eusebius showed us his Bautzen. It was great, just like the hospitality at the Mönchshof, the red abbot is highly recommended.

Very rustic inn, people like to come here to eat and celebrate. The food is good, but has been better. Nice staff and great entertaining monk as a musician 🎶. Will be returning soon. The dishes are a time travel feast for the eyes. Always happy. The millet porridge is recommended, even if you're not into it.

Fresh, quickly served, impeccable service. We ordered mustard soup (we are in Bautzen), ribs with cabbage and, of course, mustard and lamb. Delicious. Service - nicely dressed men in monk's habits, a very nice lady in a period dress, there was even a nice "monk" playing the lute and singing. Great.

Hier waren wir zu Zweit essen. Reservierung klappte problemlos online. Ambiente und Essen waren wunderbar. Preis, Größe, Qualität fanden wir 1a. Lediglich beim Service gibt es einen Stern Abzug, da ich auf ganze Sätze stehe. Hier kommen wir gerne wieder und werden es natürlich auch weiter empfehlen.

Ich habe was einfaches bestellt und was einfaches bekommen und geschmacklich war es echt top. Preislich war es absolut gerechtfertigt. Der Service war auch sehr gut und schnell. Was ich richtig cool fand war das Ambiente und die Servicekräfte mit der passenden Arbeitskleidung. Sollte ich in Bautzen sein, werde ich definitiv nochmals in diesem Lokal einkehren.
