Rio Grande Restaurante in Bautzen

Soups are considered their specialty. Unfortunately they are not tasty, but the pricing is high. Not sure why people rate this restaurant so high, maybe the second dishes are better. Service was ok though. Also, it's 2025 and they don't accept cards yet.

We were there for lunch today. Fried noodles with duck. Well, the noodles weren't that great and were very dry. The duck had seen better days. Very dry. It wasn't enjoyable. It was called fried noodles with vegetables. Unfortunately, all I could find was carrots. 5 strips. Conclusion: It's not worth eating there. It doesn't look very inviting either; there were bottle crates and boxes by the window.

We were visiting Bautzen and, while strolling through the old town, we got hungry. €5 for a kebab is absolutely reasonable (especially considering where we come from). There was a choice of chicken or veal. The portion was surprisingly large, with fresh vegetables, good sauce, and a decent amount of meat, which was also quite tasty. The food was also prepared quite quickly. All in all, I highly recommend this shop!

Addendum: The employees contacted us today and apologized. They're sorry they thought it was in our interest. Apology accepted! Everything's fine 👍🏻 We'd love to come back. We went to brunch today with the theme of pasta and sea. The food and service were top notch as always. The table situation, however, was absolutely unacceptable. A table for 19 people was ordered for a birthday party. There would have been enough space for that. As a long table, U-shape or L-shape. What we got were two completely separate tables. We have often been there with many people and there were always large tables, but today was not satisfactory. The mood was in the basement right from the start. Very unfortunate! Dear team, you can do better! Small side note: Please put small table waste containers on the tables again. For leftover fruit etc. from cocktails and other small things.
