Ein sehr tolles Restaurant mit einer schon schönen Aussicht

The inn in Wesel offers a great atmosphere and a really nice location - we immediately felt at home. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. Even though the restaurant was completely reserved, we were offered a seat because we only wanted to have a quick bite. That was a very nice gesture that we really appreciated. The service was particularly attentive when it immediately brought our son a children's book so that he could pass the waiting time until his meal in a playful way. The food came to the table surprisingly quickly and was very attractively prepared. About the taste: Overall, the food was very tasty. A small drawback was the crusty roast, which unfortunately didn't have a crispy crust, which is what we expected. The schnitzel could have been seasoned a little better, but that is of course a matter of taste. Despite these small points, overall we were very satisfied and would definitely come back. The price of the food was also absolutely reasonable and fair.

After a long time, on April 7th, 2024, we visited the Deichhaus, Gravinsel 1, 46487 Wesel, as a stopover on a Lower Rhine bicycle tour. About the food: I ordered a large salad plate (€11.90) with chicken strips (€4.50) for a total of €16.40. I had the impression that it was a salad mix like the kind you get as a ready-made salad at Aldi. The chicken strips were also of poor quality with a high fat content. So, no home-fried chicken breast strips and home-made salad, but everything made from inferior finished products. And the whole thing for 16.40 euros. About the service: friendly service. Was ok. Ambiance: The boss of the restaurant (he was addressed as the boss) actually drove to the slightly higher terrace where the drinks and food were served. He stopped his car only about 1 meter behind my wife's back, who was about to jump up in shock. Not to load or load anything, but out of pure convenience! We will never sit on this terrace again. Compared to before, the restaurant can no longer be recommended.
