I just came from the ferry house with the girls. Once and never again. Food was edible, but it doesn't have to be again. A woman, apparently belonging to the house, sat down at the neighboring table with guests and acquaintances and then let her dog sit on the chair and feed it nicely. Sorry, no go......but the amazing price was the price for a glass of wine, supposedly Lugana......for 13.70 euros. Disgraceful!!!! Never again for us.

I was there for dinner with friends. We got a table on the outside terrace with a panoramic view of the Rhine. Simply great. The schnitzel with fries was very tasty. The waffles with cherries were also very tasty. The service was good and friendly. I'd love to come back. Only the other guests parked a little creatively. So some places have been lost.

On a beautiful sunny Saturday, the Fährhaus is a good choice to relax. I was alone. I sat outside and enjoyed a delicious plum cake. The service is 1a. Families connected with dogs and a personal conversation with everyone. There were some good-humoured groups there. I had lovely hours with my face in the sun, just enjoying the weather. The ambience is very nice. Always happy.... Escape from everyday life and let yourself be pampered. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Enough has been reported about the location and the ambience. I just think it's a shame how much people are hiding behind a lack of staff to limit service. Maybe I'm being too picky... The request to change the side dish is immediately stopped by the waiter. The kitchen would not be able to implement this. I have never experienced this in any restaurant... Anyone who follows the principle “As it is written on the menu or not at all!” If you can't live, you're well served here. However, if you don't like the situation, you should choose another restaurant.

I haven't experienced such bad and unfriendly service in a long time. 4 people, so 4 drinks ordered + ice cubes for the wine spritzer so that it doesn't get warm so quickly. Answer: Okay, but we have to charge extra for the ice cubes. We: yes, okay, drinks come, but without extra ice cubes. We: Please bring the ice cubes you ordered. But the costs are extra. Us: yes, okay. We wait and wait and wait. We take the liberty of asking politely. Yes, the ice cubes come after what feels like 10 minutes. The waitress's answer: No, it wasn't 10 minutes. After a few more minutes, a waiter asks if everything is okay. Us: Yes, now. He answers, yes, you can forget something! No apology, nothing like that. Yes, as a waiter/waitress you can forget something, but how you deal with it with the guest is another matter. We then charged 2x 1 euro for 3-4 large ice cubes. To be honest, I've never experienced it before. We certainly won't be coming back here anytime soon if ordering ice cubes in warm weather becomes a challenge. Note: Previously at a farm/farm cafe, ice cubes were no problem and were not charged extra. The staff there was very friendly and accommodating. So there is another way. Update: It's a shame that the owner consumes the facts and once again portrays the customer as "ungrateful and not understanding". Firstly, nothing was offered to us for free. They had offered to put the ice cubes directly into the wine spritzer, but there was no mention of it being free of charge. From a financial perspective, it makes no difference whether the ice cubes are directly in the wine spritzer or the customer decides for himself when and how many ice cubes he puts in the wine spritzer. The only thing that melted was the ice cube that I gave the flower on the table for hygiene reasons. I didn't want what was "red" stuck to the ice cube in my wine spritzer. As a restaurateur once said to us: "If I can no longer afford to offer ice cubes for free, then I'm doing something wrong." Well, as I said, we've never experienced it before. You may soon be charged a fee if dog owners fill their four-legged friends' water bowls from their tap. irony.

Great location on the Rhine, easy to reach by bike. The ride has a very nice interior, and the outdoor area alone with a view of the Rhine is always worth a visit. The menu has dishes for a wide audience, you can taste that the food is cooked with heart. The service is good, no long waiting times even at peak times, always polite, nice and accommodating. The ferry house is definitely worth a visit.

It's very nice there. The food was also really good and the prices are reasonable. The view was great. The only thing I have to say is that there was no disabled toilet because it is very small for wheelchair users and unfortunately it wasn't possible to turn. But otherwise everything was great.

Today we had lunch at the Fährhaus with a group of seniors who had pre-ordered food. The reservation by phone call and email went smoothly; we had a shortened menu to choose from in advance. Everyone on site was very friendly and accommodating, drinks and food came to the table quickly. The food was very tasty and plentiful, definitely recommended. In addition, an appealing ambience, large, beautiful outdoor dining. It's a shame that the ferry house is so far away from Cologne.

The food and ambience are acceptable but the service is the worst I have ever experienced. The waiters don't treat the guests like they are, but rather like a burden. It takes forever until you finally get the menus after repeated requests, and ordering then takes a long time. The waiter skillfully ignored us and only came after I waved to him for five minutes. He justified himself unprompted and rather cheekily, suggesting he is conscious of ignoring the customers. If you don't like people, maybe you should consider another career. The food is served quickly, but tastes the same. It's perfectly acceptable, but seems more warmed than fresh.

The two dogs that apparently belong to the restaurant found our “steak leftovers” very tasty! Even before we ordered, we overheard the conversation about the unfriendly waiters from two neighboring tables. When we ordered we were snidely reprimanded by the waiter. We ordered 2 steak dishes - one steak medium and one medium to well done. After cutting, we immediately noticed that both steaks were less than medium but rather rare, almost English. After we told and showed this to the waiter... he became rude and said very loudly: - Oh, they want their steak "to death" - I don't have any complaints, he called the boss. The boss said the waiter was actually a professional, but she immediately offered to cook it and “compensate” cappuccino or coffee. We rejected both! For us, “feeling good” works differently! The boss was also confirmed by the guests at the neighboring table about her waiter's rude behavior!!! So here is the waiter "King", who also complains several times about uncomprehending and ignorant guests.

A successful afternoon despite the beginning of heavy rain: According to the motto: We're not going home for a long time, we stayed. I have one question, why are there no snacks? No matter, there's always more, but the cake counter was great. What caught my attention, however, were the gin and other spirits that I was unfamiliar with. Great selection. I don't understand why some of the reviews are so derogatory. I think the shop is well set up, well run and all in all it has to stay that way.

Nice ambience with a view of the Rhine, you could sit comfortably under parasols on the terrace. There was something on the menu for every taste: warm dishes, coffee and cake, ice cream. The service was very friendly, reasonably quick and kept a close eye on the guests and their wishes, even though the restaurant was very busy with many day trippers on a sunny holiday. Many thanks to the service team. We will definitely come back.

The location is very nice. The food was a disaster. Asparagus was woody and couldn't be cut with a knife. The staff wanted to give us another knife. The schnitzel came out of the deep fryer and was garnished with a lemon. Hollandaise in the Big Pak and warmed potatoes. Nothing could be deducted from the bill and never seen again

We came across this location on the internet. You can park almost at the restaurant and you can get there via a short walk. It is beautifully located on the Rhine and offers many outdoor and indoor spaces. We were greeted warmly and asked whether we would just like something to drink or also something to eat. We decided on a latte macchiato, a piece of chocolate cake and a wheat beer. The homemade chocolate cake was a dream. So tasty and a big piece too. The view is very beautiful, you almost feel like you are on vacation. The service is attentive, quick and very friendly. The location is clean and well maintained. There is a small playground outside and you can observe chickens and sheep on the footpath in the enclosures. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.

Unfortunately very disappointing. The location of the restaurant is really very nice. Located directly on the Rhine with a very nice sun terrace. Unfortunately the service is really very unfriendly. You don't feel welcome in any way, but rather like a burden. The food is ok but normal standard, very salty. But what I found to be the biggest impudence was the surcharge for changing a menu of €1.50 because fries were requested instead of potato salad. In addition, ketchup and mayonnaise had to be paid extra. I find it very sad when a restaurant charges extra for such things. Changes in wishes should be a given. I've never experienced anything like this before. We would not recommend the restaurant.

A restaurant that doesn't seem to want any guests... The four of us came in and initially stood in the doorway to wait for a waiter to lead us to one of the tables or at least say hello. After waiting in vain, we thought about where we wanted to sit, as neither the heating nor the light was on in the next room and we didn't know exactly whether we could sit there. Then suddenly the waiter came and said we would disturb the other guests (2 in number; who were also very amused by the waiter's comments) with our thoughts. No matter how beautiful the view was and how hungry you were... in the end, when it was realized that we weren't going to spend any money there, you could still hear people getting loud, and the only loud one in the room was the waiter himself. This is the Lower Rhine, you imagine it to be so picturesque with pollarded willows, water and a wide view. Idyllic ferry house with a great location and cheerful staff, top!

Yesterday we set off from DU Hamborn with six paddlers to go ashore in Bislich. Everything worked out fine. In the Altes Fährhaus we ate a fantastically delicious apple strudel with vanilla sauce and Kaiserschmarren! Thank you very much, we all enjoyed it very much!

Nice atmosphere, located directly on the Rhine. Food is delicious and plentiful. Good selection of drinks. The staff is friendly. What more could you want, it's just a shame that it rained that afternoon. I can recommend the ferry house.

Ein sehr gepflegtes Restaurant direkt am Rhein gelegen, das in seinem Erscheinungsbild altes mit neuem geschickt kombiniert. Sehr gemütlich. Das Essen ist sehr gut, wobei die Speisekarte sehr übersichtlich ist, was aber überhaupt kein Nachteil ist. Ganz im Gegenteil. Das Personal ist sehr nett und höflich und hilft mit zusätzlichen Informationen bei der Auswahl von Speise und Trank. Sehr gut. Das Angebot an Likören, Schnäpsen und sonstigen Alkoholika ist sehr groß, und auch hier wird bei der Auswahl gut beraten. Die Preise sind moderat. Es gibt einen großen Biergarten und einen angemessen großen Parkplatz. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.

Immer ein schönes Ausflug! Schönes Lokal, schöner Biergarten und eine sehr gute Küche. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich, für jeden was dabei. Und trotz das es echt oft brechendvoll ist, gerade im Sommer ist das Personal immer freundlich.

Haben bei der Radtour hier auf dem Hin- und Rückweg Halt gemacht, sehr freundlich aufgenommen worden, Hühnersuppe frisch und lecker, die beiden Hunde sehr süß

Ein Restaurant an einem einmaligen, idyllischen Platz am Rhein gelegen. Doch allein diese Worte genügen nicht um die Natur an diese einzigartigen Ort zu beschreiben. Das müsst ihr persönlich erleben. Die Küche ist sehr gut und bietet von lokalen Rheinischen bis zu Süddeutschen und Österreichischen Spezialitäten allerhand. Wir waren begeistert und kommen wieder.

Fährhaus, auf Empfehlung dort hin. Haben uns auch sehr gefreut, Ambiente super, konnten auch draußen sitzen also alles perfekt erstmal. Dann unsere Getränke und das Essen bestellt. Balkanschnitzel klang so gut, musste ich bestellen, die anderen hatten Currywurst Pommes. Für das Schnitzel knapp 18 Euro, nicht mal eine Zigarettenlänge gewartet und sowas hatte ich wirklich noch nie an Schnitzel. Wabbelig, einfach ganz weich und matschig Currywurst das selbe. Auf Nachfragen sagte man uns dann, dass das Essen in der Friteuse gemacht wird. Sorry ein 18 Euro Schnitzel in der Friteuse. Alles andere drum herum war ja super aber vom Essen wirklich entfernt

Die Lage des Fährhauses ist echt toll. Leider ist auch hier der Personalmangel voll durchgeschlagen. Trotzdem sind alle die bedienen nett und freundlich. Das Essen war geschmacklich ( Sauerbraten) sehr gut leider hatte ich Pech, dass mein Fleisch nicht warm war. Das wurde aber unkompliziert und sofort nochmal heiß gemacht. Ich würde das Lokal zu jeder Zeit wieder besuchen und auch weiter empfehlen.

Mußten zwar am Anfang etwas länger auf die Bedienung warten, aber es war auch gut was los. Essen sehr lecker und auch fix gebracht. Bedienung trotz Unterbesetzung sehr nett. Lage und Aussicht top, immer eine Einkehr wert.
