Visited a friend in the hospital today.
Afterwards, my wife and I wanted to go out for ice cream; the weather was perfect for it.
It was the nearest café in the area with great reviews.
And as I discovered, rightly so!!!
We parked the car and walked straight to the giant yellow umbrellas.
As soon as we arrived inside, we were greeted warmly and were able to choose a table outside.
In the middle of Berlin, not 50 meters from the Plattenbauten, such an idyllic spot in the green.
Shortly after choosing a table, we were given a menu and greeted again warmly.
The selection is very clear, since it was a coffee.
The choice fell on a raspberry tart.
The beautifully garnished ice cream was truly delicious.
The staff was very friendly and had a great sense of humor, which we thought was great.
Super delicious food/ MAGDALENA is the soul of the restaurant, she is always in a good mood and friendly no matter how many people she has to serve. ANTONIO is a gifted cook; every dish that comes out of his small kitchen is a delight. The restaurant is small and cramped, and at peak times it is impossible to get a table unless you reserve it in advance. Once you sit down, life pulsates around you like in a typical trattoria, only Magdalena reminds me a little of Greece when she speaks Greek to me.
Thanks for this beautiful place / go there / but reserve a table beforehand
The staff was very friendly. After a misunderstanding on our part, we were given another loaf of falafel bread because we thought it was shawarma bread and we don't eat meat. 😅 It tasted incredibly good and I highly recommend it.
There were four of us and we sat outside. The service was attentive and yet reserved. We ate three courses, which were okay, maybe a little overpriced, but that happens a lot these days. However, the Aperol Sprizz as an aperitif was below average; we almost had the impression that a Billo Aperol had been taken here, poured over with stale sparkling wine or a frizzante. There's definitely a better way... Penne with porcini mushrooms and liver: the liver was good, but it was my fault for ordering it in May, the mushrooms were from a jar or frozen, in any case they were just limp, tasteless shreds, then better mushrooms. The Girasoli were simply bought ready-made, which we also tasted. Sage and butter then tore some of it out again.
Absolutely no way. I just wanted to pick up some food and was told twice by a waiter that I would only have to communicate with him because everyone else couldn't speak German or English. How can you run a store like that? So I definitely felt out of place as a guest. Never again. Where is the friendly Italian guy who used to be there? There wouldn't have been anything like that.
Addendum: the supposedly vegan meal probably contained cream and fish sauce. At least that was what I could taste.
Thanks for that. Puke my soul out of my body.
Recommendation for all allergy sufferers and vegans: just don’t!
The chef/waiter/probably even owner is definitely multitasking and did a very good job. The food was also very good, but in my opinion my veggie “goulash” had nothing to do with goulash, but was simply a very good mushroom dish. My companion was very enthusiastic about her real goulash.
The silence may have made it a little uncomfortable and some light background music wouldn't hurt.
Super delicious bowls, you can either create your own or choose from suggestions. Great dressings, including vegan/gluten-free options.
There's even an app where you can collect points and get extra toppings, etc. You can also sit outside.
